[00:00:17]That's the 57year-old woman who shot and injured the two attorneys a couple of days ago. Gwindelyn believes that the attorney, the Roseville Police Department, the judges, and the neighbors that she got into a dispute with are all connected to the KKK. Back in 2021, Gwendalyn called the Roseville Police Department. They showed up because she was having a dispute with her neighbors. The police officer spoke with Gwendalyn as well as the neighbors and said that it was nothing more than two neighbors having a dispute. So, they left.Wendalyn Gwendalyn alleged that the neighbors confessed to stalking her, harassing her and her family, and also that they confessed to two murders that they committed. Roseville Police Department, they don't keep body cam footage more than 30 days if it's not used for evidence. So, the footage was deleted. She also alleged that her 90-year-old mother passed away and it was not due to natural causes. It was from the people that were involved in this that they murdered her mom.

[00:01:16]Gwendalyn felt like every time she went to court that she was not being heard.

[00:01:21]She tried to do things the right way and no one would listen to her. So that's when she decided to take matters into her own hands and did what she did and shot those two attorneys. People who live in that town with Gwendalyn say that they believe everything that she's saying, but you also have people who are saying that she is crazy and she made all this up. Roseville police and parts of Wake County have faced criticism from black residents who say black people are unfall targeted, harassed, and overpoliced. Many also connected to North Carolina's long history of segregation and sundown town behavior that made black Americans feel unsafe in certain areas after dark. Make that make sense. And in the words of Juvenile, "Y'all thought I was playing, huh? Y'all thought I let it slide, huh? Y'all thought I forgot, huh? Hell no." and Roseville Police Department. [00:02:31]More breaking news here tonight. We've learned from Raleigh police that the two attorneys who were shot yesterday outside of the Wake County Courthouse are expected to be okay. Their injuries are not life-threatening. Also tonight, we're hearing from an attorney who previously represented the woman accused of shooting those two lawyers. Win faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder. White is accused of shooting Mary Harris and Jeffrey Whitley. Police say White shot the two as they left the courthouse. Today, we spoke with attorney Seth Bloom. He tells us he represented White in two cases. He says he could tell that she had significant mental health challenges.

[00:03:09]She had, at the time that I represented her, called the police on her neighbors dozens of times. I think it was 37 times. And they got sick of it. Every time the police came out, they would investigate. And Miss White had this fixed belief that her neighbors were poisoning her through her air conditioning system, which there's no evidence at all that that was true.

[00:03:32]>> Bloom says when he heard about the shooting yesterday, his heart went out to everybody involved.

[00:03:38]I I of course was terribly concerned for Mary Harris and for Jeff Whitley and and their friends and family and I I even now wish uh wish them well and they're certainly in my thoughts but I felt awful for Miss White who I knew had not been getting the treatment that she needed. Um, I actually got a a call um indirectly. Uh, the police were apparently investigating other other lawyers who might be targets of Miss White. And I understand that I was uh on that list.

[00:04:11]>> Bloom says that a lack of sufficient mental health programs and funding leads to too many people ending up in a criminal justice system that is not designed to help them. White has a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday. Now, tonight I spoke with three different lawyers and the Wake County District Attorney over the course of this evening. Every single one told me that threats are a part of life in the legal world, and everyone has experienced them. But crossing the line to actual violence remains rare. Trying to keep yourself and your staff safe, though that is very common. I was told about locked doors, bear spray kept in offices, and choosing to live in a different county than you work in. All precautions against violence. One lawyer, Sheri Patrick, tells me she's now considering installing more cameras around her office because of this shooting.

[00:04:58]>> You have to think about the reality of the world we live in and what what we do and how people react to that.

[00:05:06]>> It's very easy for people to identify the lawyer as the bad guy and take out, you know, whatever their anger is on the lawyer rather than the company that the lawyer represents or the government agency.

[00:05:17]Now, Friday's shooting isn't the first case of violence against lawyers or those in the legal profession in downtown Raleigh. Back in 2018, a man was charged for shooting into the Daert Willis Law Office on Blunt Street. And last year, a man was convicted and sent to prison for threatening a Wake County prosecutor. In the Gwendlin White case, attorneys reportedly questioned her mental state, something many black Americans say has historically been used in North Carolina and the South to discredit black people instead of addressing racism or injustice claims directly. Make that make sense. Imagine being harassed by racist neighbors.

But not one time did the news media say what really happened. But you know what? They don't even have to because I got that. And ain't nothing new. Roseville, North Carolina has always been a sundown town.

[00:06:28]Matter of fact, let's travel back in time right quick. Check this out. In 1918, George Taylor, a black man from Roseville, North Carolina, was murdered by a mob of nearly 300 white men after accusations were made against him without evidence.

[00:06:46]Reports say he was taken by force, tortured, and publicly murdered while large crowds watched. And no one was ever held accountable. Make that make sense. And the cold part is after they used the rope on him, they mutilated him. They shot him a hundred times and all the racist Caucasian people stood there and watched and y'all thinking 2026 they stopped. Hell no. Now all the KKK members in sundown towns are nurses, doctors, attorneys, judges, cops. I can go on and on.

[00:07:24]Roseville, North Carolina is 59% Caucasian. And I promise you those same people that's there today are related to the same people that murdered George Taylor back in 1918.
