Zero-based budgeting is a financial planning method where every dollar of income is assigned a specific purpose before the budgeting period begins, ensuring no money is left unallocated. In this video, a 26-year-old demonstrates budgeting a $1,104 weekly income by categorizing expenses into bills (utilities, insurance, subscriptions), debt payments, business expenses, savings goals, and personal spending, with any remaining funds designated for a buffer or emergency fund.

How I Budget My Paychecks! | $1,104 Weekly Zer Based Budget By Paycheck | 26 Year Old BudgetsAjouté :
Hello lovelies and welcome back to another Money Monday. I hope that you guys had a good weekend, a good Mother's Day if you were celebrating. Um if you were celebrating or celebrated, um happy Mother's Day and yeah, if you guys did anything fun or exciting, let me know.
Um there's a quite a few people in my life who this is their first Mother's Day or they're pregnant right now. So we're still kind of celebrating them and um you know their their babies are still babies so that's always exciting. And then of course parents, grandparents. I really don't appreciate this is a random rant but I really don't appreciate when people are like cuz I saw a Tik Tok the other day that was like Mother's Day is only for mothers. There's a grandparents day for a reason. I'm like, "Your mother wouldn't be there without your grandmother, so give her some respect."
Like, she's a mother, too. It's for all mothers, you know. Anyway, that is beside the point. Let's get into the budget with me. So, for this week, we are working through um the 12th through the 18th. I will be gone this upcoming weekend for my um my bachelorette trip. So, that's something I need to consider. But for my income from our full-time paycheck, we have $620.
Um, from Etsy, I'm checking this and I am filming this on Sunday. So, if we happen to get any more orders um depending on when those come in, we could be working with a little bit more, a little bit less. But as of right now, we have um 100 um I'm going to round down. So, we have $100 even um for Etsy. And then in cash tips, actually, shoot, I think I know what the number was. I think it was 208, but I need to double count it. Okay, good thing I did because it was 204.
And then, um Oh, this is my old one because it was tips and restaurant.
Wait, why did it print out that way? I must have only updated one of them. um because it's 204 plus I cashed out $180 worth of my hourly from last week. It wasn't the exact number that I got, but that's what I transferred over. Um and then yeah, I didn't cash out anything else this week in as far as like upside rewards or anything. So this is what we're working with. So we have 620, 100, 204, and 180. So, our total income this week is 1,14.
We do need to leave some money in the bank for autodress and subscriptions and things. So, we'll have our normal 55 and then from the 12th, so Art List will pull on the 12th and Planet Fitness will pull on the 17th.
But other than that, it doesn't seem like there's any other subscriptions that need to pull. So, we are going to leave 55 in the bank, 11:04. Oops.
minus 55. Our budgetable income is 1,49.
That is super exciting. So, let's start with my bills. So, let's move this over.
Um, I do have my cheat sheet off to the side that I filled out with um with members at the beginning of the month. I do have some membership tiers if you guys are interested in some extra content. There's information about signing up um below the video. Let me fix that cuz that's going to bug me.
Okay, so my goal for internet this month is $65.
Let's Oh my goodness gracious. Whatever.
Um 65. We have 10, 15, 16, and 17. So we need 48 more and we have three paychecks left. So that'll be $16.
that we are stuffing in there. Um, for electric, my goal this month is 250.
We have 20, 40, 50, 60, 61, 62, and 63.
So, I need 187 more divided by the three paychecks we have left is 6230. So, we'll do 63 again.
Um, my goal for heat this month was 133 and it was a little odd, but it was to kind of even out the buffer that we have. So, we have 20, 25, 30, 31, 2, 3, and 34.
So, we need 99 more divided by 3 is 33. So, we can stuff 33 this week.
Um, we are not stuffing water and sewer this month, but for my phone, I need $60. We have 15. So we need 45 / 4 will be 15 again.
I must have done something wrong. 45 / Oh, it's divided by 3. So you know what I meant. Okay.
Um Oops, I put that on the wrong spot. Sorry about that. We're not st How did a hair get in that? That's crazy.
Um 15 for phone bow mark. My goal is 81 and we have 10 15 20 and 21. So I need 60 left divided by 3 will be $20. I almost said 30.
Um for pet insurance I need $60. We have 15. So we need 45 / 3 is 15. Perfect.
A lot of these bills amounts did change.
A lot of them went up um without me even realizing. So that's what we're we're working with here. For health insurance, I need 298. We have 20 40 60 70 and 75.
So I need 223 divided by 3 will be 7430. So 75 for car insurance. Again, it's $100. I stuff $25 a week. And this month hopefully will be fully funded. And then for my registration, forgot about that.
My registration, I am far overfunded.
So, I am just going to save that $5 a week and put it elsewhere. So, that is it for those bills. And now I have my bills that are specifically um debt and subscriptions. So, we are not stuffing mortgage this month either.
um discover. My goal is $600, but 200 of that is coming from my YouTube paycheck, so I need 400. We have 100. 300 left divided by 3 is 100.
Okie dos. My YouTube paycheck is going to be a little bit smaller this month, which is totally fine. So, I just needed to plan ahead. For Care Credit, my goal is 150. We have 20, 30, 35, 36, 7, and 38. So I need 112 divided by the three paychecks we have left is 37 33 repeating. So we'll go to 38 again.
And for TJ's, my goal is 200. We have 20, 30, 45, and 50. So we'll do 50 again.
And for student loans, my goal is still 500. We have 50, 70, 90. Wait, wait a second. What happened? 50. Oh, I just counted that wrong. 51, 120, and 125 divided by 3.25 a week.
A lot of these are the same every week because the goal amount will divide evenly by four, but if it doesn't, you know, sometimes whatever. So, Amazon Prime. Um, my goal is well, these are these are tricky to um these are tricky to do the way that I normally do the rest of my bills. Which ones we'll pull? Art List and Planet Fitness. Okay, so Amazon is 15 a month divided by 4 is 375. So we'll do four. I am going to pull art list though, which is 14 15, sorry, 10 and a five. So I'll set that off to the side and bring that to the bank. We have 15 again and then we have four. So um Art List is also $15 a month, so $4 a week and so is Canva. So I'll just do those. I will pull out Planet Fitness though, which is 25 24 a month. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 14.
Oh, I don't have a 10 in here. That's okay. Um, actually, wait.
If I need Hold on. I need 24 and 15. So, that's 39. So, 20 30 5 6 7 No, hold on. You know what? Never mind.
I'm going to confuse myself and then I'm going to mess something up. So, 20 1 2 3 4. Sure. In the end, I should have 25 26 27 28 29 30 left in here.
20. I could I could have I could have I could have, but that's okay. That's okay. I don't need to. $24. So, this will go in the bank as well, just to make sure that when that autodrafts um it is all set. Sam's Club is $5 a month. Um, sorry, $5 a week. Oh, did I?
No, hold on. 24 / 4 for Planet Fitness is $6 a week. We still got to stuff it.
Um, and then Spotify is $14 a month divided by four is 3.5, so we'll do four. And then Washville is $30 a month divided by four, so we'll do $8. Beautiful.
Okie dos. So, let's find a total for my bills here.
Okay, my first go around I got 610, but let's try again.
Okay, I got 610 again. So, beautiful.
Um, let's go over to my business really quickly. Etsy has $100. Um, times 0.25 will be $25. So, I will just pop that towards um taxes. 21 / 4 is 5.25. So, I'll put $6 towards stamps.com.
And then, let me just see quickly what I have, if anything, for shipping.
Okay, I have $70 for shipping in here right now.
I think that's fine. I'm just not going to stuff shipping or supplies. So 25 + 6 is 31 is going to be going toward the business. So um let's once again just 620 100 204 and 180 is 1104 minus 55 is $1049US 610 for bills and 31 for the business leaves us with $48 left which is crazy which really goes to show like especially this month when I'm not stuffing mortgage obviously things are going to change once we have a new house and everything Um, but having that extra $100, I mean, even if I was doing $100 or $200 a month, we'd still have enough left. So, I don't know. Just makes me think, you know, but okay. So, for my my wallet, um, I'm going to do $60 for gas because gas is ridiculous right now.
And we'll do $5 for miscellaneous.
And then for groceries, I'll do 50.
So, we have 2.93 left.
Um, let's put H.
Let me Okay, let me pull out my scing funds really quick. And I'm going to compare this to my um my goals. So, the dogs, I didn't have a goal for them for Christmas. I wanted to stuff 45. And we've already stuffed 20.
So, I could stuff another 25 and hit that goal.
But, you know what? Let's do 10 instead for Christmas because um for my wedding, my bachelorette trip is this weekend. So, I'm going to need some extra money for that. And I do know for bridesmaid, my goal was to stuff $20 this month and I've already stuffed 10.
So, let's let's do another 10 for bridesmaid just to get that there. And then h let's see. We still have still have 1065 in car care. Austin still hasn't sent me those parts. I really need to, but it is what it is. Let's see. What are we at for the dogs? We have 20, 30, 40, 55.
Let's throw five in there. Bring it up to 60.
And then we'll call that good for syncing funds for this week. Um, but let me look at savings super quickly because I know my only goal in my savings envelope or binder this month was to stuff $50 into emergency and we did that last week. So, technically I'm good here, but 268 is a lot.
Let's You know what? Screw it. Let's do 50 into emergency. Let's just double our monthly goal right off the bat. That's crazy. Then we have 18. So, I'm kind of tempted to do um we have an eight on here. So, let's do 10 in baby and eight for the savings challenge. So, that'll be 18. And we have $200 left. And I'm just going to put that all towards the wedding because it'll go towards my bachelor bachelorette trip. Um, and I'll have that for spending if we go out and blah blah blah, whatever we end up doing. If I want to buy something in like a gift shop somewhere, um, we'll have it. But yeah, so that is 268.
268 and 25 for savings and syncing funds. So 10.49 minus this is 110 for the wallet minus 610 for bills, 25 for syncing funds, 268 for savings, and 31. Oh, that leaves five left over. What did I do?
Um $10.49 minus Oh, it's 115. Sorry for my wallet.
Whoopsy daisy.
Minus 115 610 25 268 and 31. That is $0 remaining. Hence the zerobased budget method. Every single dollar that we made this past week has a goal, a place to go. that has a job to do. Um, it's not just floating around in my checking account. And if I wanted it to be just floating around in my checking account, that would be its job. It would be designated to be in my buffer. So, yeah, that is going to wrap up today's budget with me. I really hope that you guys enjoyed. If you did, please don't forget to give the video a big thumbs up, leave a yellow heart in the comments to show your support for the channel, and of course, subscribe. Check back in on Tuesday. We're going to stuff my full-time paycheck, and then on Thankful Thursday, we're going to stuff all my side income. So, my Etsy money as well as tips from the restaurant that I work at and the hourly from the restaurant.
So, yeah. With all that being said, thank you guys so much for sticking around with me. I hope you had a great Mother's Day weekend and I will see you in the next one.
Bye.
