Danish design, British Manufacturer- How Danish designers transformed British mid-century furnitureHinzugefügt:
This latest arrival has all the signs of something special. A dining table designed by Ib Kofod Larsen for the British furniture manufacturer G-Plan in the 1960s.
Fresh into the warehouse and still awaiting restoration, the teak top shows its age in places with marks and wear and tear from decades of everyday use.
>> [music] >> But the design remains as impressive as ever with beautifully sculpted rails, elegant proportions, and attention to detail throughout.
>> [music] >> And then there's one of its best features.
Two extension leaves need be stored beneath the tabletop.
>> [music] >> Pull them out, fit them into place, and the table transform from a practical everyday dining table to a piece capable of seating up to eight guests. [music] And of course, the chairs deserve attention, too. These were also designed by Ib Kofod Larsen to sit alongside the table with beautifully shaped frames and original upholstery still intact. These two will be restored and [music] can be upholstered in a fabric or leather of your choosing.
A wonderful Danish dining suite ready for its next chapter.
