The 5 YAMAS are foundational ethical principles for conscious living: Ahimsa (non-violence and non-interference in others' affairs), Satya (living truth and integrity), Asteya (freedom from comparison and jealousy), Aparigraha (simple living with high thinking and sharing resources), and Brahmacharya (living in soul consciousness rather than body-mind identification). These principles guide individuals toward inner peace, emotional balance, and spiritual awakening by fostering interconnectedness, self-awareness, and purposeful living.

What are Do You Know the 5 YAMAS? | Ancient Principles of Life by Master Pradeep Vijay | #behfindiaAñadido:
You can guide your children, but you cannot interfere in your children's life.
You should never compare yourself with another person because we are all unique people.
Because if you feel jealousy, it hurts you, not the other person. It takes a lot of intelligence to live a simple life.
You have come to the planet Earth to make yourself a little more beautiful.
So, first let us go with the principles of life.
Yamas and Niyamas. So, the first principle, there are five. So, out of the five, the first one is ahimsa.
Ahimsa means non-violence. You are a vegetarian.
Non-killing.
And non-interference. You don't interfere in others' affairs. Even your own children's life, you don't interfere.
You can guide your children, but you cannot interfere in your children's life.
So, that should be your lifetime principle.
And if you have this principle, then you are an enlightened person. The second one is satya.
Satya means you always speak the truth, come what may. You always speak the truth.
You live the truth.
What you think and what you speak and what you do is one and the same.
That is satya.
In other words, it is called integrity.
So, if there is no integrity, there is no possibility of coming out of suffering.
There is no possibility of coming out of darkness.
So, the second is satya. The third is asteya. Asteya means non-comparison.
You should never compare yourself with another person because we are all unique people.
We're all gods. We're all unique. We're all children of gods, and we are all unique.
There are no two people who are the same.
So, we are all so unique. There is no need to compare yourself with others.
And when there is no comparison, there is also no jealousy.
So, asteya means no comparison and no jealousy. When somebody is doing better than you, you should appreciate them. You should learn from them rather than feeling jealousy and comparing yourself.
Because if you feel jealousy, it hurts you, not the other person. So, that should be your lifetime principle.
It's a very important principle of life.
Always appreciate others and learn from others. Never compare yourself with anybody. So, that is the third. And the fourth is aparigraha.
Aparigraha means high thinking, simple living.
Simple living, high thinking. This is aparigraha. Whatever you need, you take it. Whatever the resources you need, you take it. The rest of the things you share it with others.
So, this is where the seva comes. This is where the minimalism comes.
Focus on your needs, not your greed.
Aparigraha means take care of your needs, but always be in the mode of seva.
For example, if you are doing a job or doing a business, you're earning money.
So, whatever is needed for you and your family, you keep it.
And a portion of your earnings you have to share it with others. So, you are not only earning for yourself and your family, you are earning for the welfare of the society also.
You take care of the society also.
You see a very simple example.
There is one country is in war, the whole world is affected.
We are not isolated beings.
We are all connected.
Not only humans, every being on the planet Earth, they all are codependent.
The plants has to be taken care, the animals has to be taken care.
The trees has to be taken care, the environment has to be taken care.
Your neighbor has to be taken care, your society has to be be care, your country has to be taken care, The whole world has to be taken care.
By you.
So, you should take care of everybody around you.
Primarily, you take care of your needs, and whatever is in excess, you use it to take care of others.
Simple living and high thinking.
You have to understand this point very clearly, my dear friends.
It takes a lot of intelligence to live a simple life.
A very, very intelligent person will live a simple life.
A not so intelligent person will unnecessarily complicate the life.
So, to live a simple living, you need high intelligence, spiritual intelligence, where you realize that we are all interconnected.
When your neighboring house is in on fire, you cannot relax at home because that fire will catch your home also. It will come to your home.
So, simple living, high thinking. You take care of your surroundings as well.
So, aparigraha focuses on simple living and focusing on the needs, and also sharing your resources with others. So, that should be your lifetime principle.
Your lifetime principle is simple living and high thinking.
Aparigraha.
The fifth one is brahmacharya.
Brahmacharya doesn't mean you are a celibate. You follow celibacy. That is not the right meaning of brahmacharya.
The right meaning of brahmacharya is you constantly focus on your soul, your soul journey, and you realize that you are not the body and mind, you are soul.
A person who is in brahmacharya means he's on the constant realization, he's on the constant remembrance, that he's not the body, he's not the mind, he's a pure soul.
So, whatever happens, whatever the challenges are there in your life, You focused on you're not complaining about your challenges, but rather you focus on the lessons to learn.
So, only when you realize that you are a soul, temporarily you have come to the planet Earth.
But, there is no death for the soul.
You are an eternal being.
You have come to the planet Earth to make yourself a little more beautiful.
To live in this understanding your whole life, that is brahmacharya.
Brahmacharya simply means realizing that you are a soul.
And every moment of your life you handle with the realization that you are a soul.
Don't get identified with your body and mind.
Don't get identified with all your achievements, your name and fame. You are a pure consciousness.
You are a To live your life in this understanding is brahmacharya.
You understand the whole creation.
Brahma means the whole eternity, the creation.
And you understand why you have come to the planet Earth.
That is brahmacharya. You are living in that understanding.
You handle your life according to that understanding.
That is brahmacharya.
Brahmacharya simply means living in the soul consciousness all the time. Not in the body consciousness, not in the mind consciousness. Living in the soul consciousness.
So, these five aspects are the principles of life.
Now, this is your benchmark.
So, when it comes to yamas, so in which principles you are strong, in which principles you are not so strong, so you have to reflect. You have to analyze.
And the principles which you are strong, continue to strengthen it. And the principles which you are not so strong, focus more time and energy in that area.
