[00:00:02]There's a misconception that, you know, they're just looking for money and they're gold digger. As soon as they see a dollar sign on your forehead, they'll just jump on it regardless of what you look like or what race or background you come from. We're going to find out and dig in if this is true or not. And um what makes me qualified to talk about this subject just being here in the Philippines for one month, it's because I'm married to one for 15 years. And I remember 15 years ago when we got married uh my wife's family all the titos all the titos became my titos and tas and uh basically because I didn't have any other family member and I went through all the dramas all the ins and outs and I think I am very well qualified to have this conversation here with you guys but before that I want you guys to take a look at this magnificent view behind me. I can't get enough of it. And uh I do have I have created a home office that I can basically record a lot of videos. I have my cameras and lightings and everything set up, but honestly, all I have is my iPhone and my microphone taking advantage of this view of Manila behind me. You know, um not a lot of people get to see this. And even here in this complex where we are, uh this is a very unique situation because a lot of people live in this building that don't get to have this view. And I'm talking to all of them and some of them have already come and seen it and they have fall in love with it. So I think that's why I'm always here sitting on the balcony and you'll see me more here also in the future. But I just want to showcase this magnificent uh scenery behind me that no matter where you are in the world, it is possible. Right? So in this case, we're here in Manila and I'm really appreciating what it can offer. We had a rainy night and the funny thing is most of the rainy days are happening middle of the night that were when everybody's sleeping and I'm so happy about that that as soon as you wake up it's beautiful sun and just a little bit of cloud maybe later in the day but so far we've had about three nights of rain that it comes and goes and you never know. The only time you know is you notice that if it was a little bit more um some areas like the tennis courts and badminton courts are a little bit uh flooded that basically 6:00 in the mornings all the people that are working taking care of the entire project here. Uh they're pushing the water out and getting ready for early bird people that are starting to play in the morning. So ladies and gentlemen, my name is Reza and I'm from Toronto, Canada. about a month ago, more than a month ago, I decided to move myself and my two kids here to the Philippines and we made this decision. We bought oneway tickets uh to the to Manila within 4 days. We packed everything we had and said goodbye to Toronto and we're here now. So, the subject that I want to talk about is if we really know what Filipino women want. So we got to go back to um what it is making Filipino woman so unique and special. If you notice, Filipino women are one of the only kind of the women around the world from any country you can name from any continent you can think of that are married to non-Filipinos and for some reason they get along to all races, to all religions, background, to no matter what country you're from, what language you speak, what beliefs you have. They're very adoptable. And soon, probably I would say within 20 to 30 years from now, every child that is born around the world will have at least half or a quarter of Filipino in them just because of the amount of men that are really um getting drawn into the Filipino woman's culture. And uh I think even right now I'm getting to know a lot of other races, a lot of people from other countries that are married to Filipinos and have children. And it's just so unique and beautiful. And because of it, of course, there are always going to be bad apples in no matter what country we come from, but the majority here we're talking about.

[00:04:46]So when you see uh you know all Filipinos that are around uh all foreigners, we got to ask ourselves why that is. And one thing for the last 15 years that I noticed from many many uh studies, many you know uh kitchen table talk that we always had regarding the family dramas.

[00:05:09]There is no divorce here in the Philippine culture. It is actually illegal to get divorced in the Philippines. So infidelity is very very high here. Women putting up with their men that are cheating for whatever reason. It's unreal. And most of the time women cannot walk away from it.

[00:05:32]They have this guilt towards all the kids. They have basically this um fear that what are we going to do after here?

[00:05:41]Right? So they put up with it and the men continue doing what they're doing.

[00:05:46]And one thing to notice is I myself come from a Middle Eastern culture.

[00:05:52]As a kid growing up, I have never ever even up to being a teenager, I was I never heard anybody in the entire family, friends, cultures to even see half siblings. If anybody ever brought it up to us that we have uh oh we are half brothers and sisters. It was not a thing. If anybody died, if anybody passed away, women never remarry.

[00:06:21]There's no such a thing in a Muslim uh culture back in the day probably was a different story than now. But I'm talking about my own experience from 30 years ago, 40 years ago that we are not grown up to hear about half siblings. if the woman passed or whatever happened or if there was any like probably in my entire life before moving to Canada as a teenager, we only had one case, we only heard of one case of divorce in the entire family and the city we come from.

[00:06:53]Back then things were different of course, but here was happening 30 years ago, 40 years ago, 50 years ago, right after World War II, it was so high that the majority of families, they're all half they all have half brothers and half sisters. Most if women were going through five, 6, 10, having 12 children, probably they would pass away early. They would die early and the men right away the next week they would basically be with somebody else and create another 10 to 12 babies and they all become one family. And this is by far away, believe it or not, it is within at least 70 to 80% of all uh baby boomers generation here in the Philippines, right? So, of course, things are different now, but that culture has never stopped.

[00:07:56]That culture of not being able to divorce to move on with your life has never stopped. So most the time men had two or three wives and they had 10 to 15 kids with each and because the men were able to work. Women never used to work.

[00:08:12]They were only able to make babies and take care of it, take care of the home and the men were out working, bringing the money and they had the power to do whatever they wanted to do. And probably that STEM mentality is still running, right? Of course, we might see a little bit of a difference, but basically, Philippines, one of the only countries in the world that divorce is illegal. It's gone to Senate many, many times, tried to pass the law, but they're not accepting it for whatever reason it is. But I want to something I want to tell you guys something very, very screwed up. And the Filipino Muslims in the Philippines because of their religion, they're allowed to divorce.

[00:09:00]So the laws allow Filipino Muslim to get divorce but not the rest. So to me, this would be one of the major reasons why Filipino women don't see as much loyalty within the Filipino men and they go through so much hard time with it. When they see loyalty in any other nationality, they jump on it. They're fed up with it. So questioning what it is that Filipino Filipino woman want is be they want uh stability they want security money is only one of the reasons right so majority of western men um or if they're retired there's 50s 60s7s even 80s that are moving to these countries especially Philippines that we're talking about it is because they they've gone through one marriage in their entire life and that shows was how loyal they were with their uh other significant. So whatever happened in the end, if there's a passing, if uh they finally call it off and they moved on with their lives, they've only had one experience in their own life, that already shows how loyal they were. So when they come to this side, Filipino women are recognizing it and they're choosing that. And if there is money and a stability coming with that jackpot, why not? So that could be one reason why there are way more Filipinos, Filipino women that are getting married into all cultures around the world, all religions and backgrounds, all races around the world more than any other nationality. It's because of not being able to get divorce and move on with your life and you're stuck because when there is no divorce there is no child support.

[00:11:02]There is no alimony.

[00:11:05]So one other reason is that we see nowadays a lot of Filipinos don't have children even they're 30 years old, 35 years old. It's just because the culture changed.

[00:11:20]Corporations from outside countries found a way to spend less. They moved their headquarters here, call centers here. They created more jobs for women to take care of to do.

[00:11:34]Now women here just like the western society are all working and making money. They don't even have time to take care of their children if they wanted to have a family. Now with creating that, making their own money, they don't need men anymore. They don't need Filipino men to take care of them and do whatever they want. They choose to be alone.

[00:11:56]So things are really shifting on this side as well. I remember in the in Toronto, in Canada, no matter where you go nowadays, if you're in Vancouver, you go to all uh fine dining restaurants or high-end restaurants nowadays, 80 to 85% of all customers are women sitting as groups with themselves because these are the women they tell themselves, why do we need men for headaches? So, they choose to be away. they choose to be alone because now they're all working and they're making enough money to take care of themselves. So, same scenario you get to see here. I've gone to a couple of fine dining restaurants here and I basically witnessed the same thing. There are always groups of women, young girls that are sitting and taking care of themselves.

[00:12:48]So, there could there could be two things. Men don't make enough money to take care of the woman anymore.

[00:12:55]Two, it's just that the women are like, why? Why do we want to get into uh relationship that if things don't work out, we're not able to move on? We're not able to stay away and we have to be stuck and miserable for the rest of our lives. a lot of older um uh baby boomers that are now in 60s7s that they worked all their lives especially if this is I'm talking about abroad let's say I know families that as soon as they moved out if they moved to Canada from 30 years 40 years ago they always had two or three jobs each because they found that where they come from there was no job available right so now that they move to United States they come to Canada they go to Australia they see potential they're hustlers they fill up their entire 24 hours to work and make money to build the future they want so they go on for 20 years 30 years and without even being able to be a parent on top of their kids the kids grow up on their own even though they're able to provide them with money, but they have zero relationship. Now they're in 60s and 70s and they're finally slowing down and they want to retire. They realize the kids, they don't even know the kids and now they're crying. What happened?

[00:14:24]Why our kids don't listen to us? Why our kids are acting the way they are? Why they are in this situation?

[00:14:31]So now in terms of their family dynamic, they look at themselves and they're like, "Okay, we accumulated a lot of money for over 30 years, 40 years, over decades. We made a lot of money. We bought homes. We bought our investments back in the Philippines, but we don't know our kids anymore, right? So what now?" So we got ourselves to this point.

[00:14:54]What now? What I'm seeing is majority of women, especially older women, the baby boomers in abroad, they do not wish to come back to the Philippine anymore.

[00:15:06]When you talk to the majority of them, that's one major problem that Filipino women have right now with their men because men only thinking about retiring back here in the Philippines because now with money, they can live like a king.

[00:15:23]They worked for two, three, four decades to build what they did. The kids are grown up. They're gone. Now it's time for retirement. They don't want to be where they are. They want to come back here and live like a king. But their spouses, their wives, they don't want that. They don't want to be in the Philippines anymore. They've already moved on. They already have a life there. All of their families, uh, friends, everything is there and they don't see themsel in here. So it's in late in life it's causing a lot of problems because men want to move back here and enjoy the rest of their lives.

[00:16:00]So again going back to uh our subject what Filipino woman want it is not just because they see money it is because a lot of underlying issues in this country in the Philippines in terms of the system it's systematic right somebody needs to somehow uh pull the plug and you know said you know what it's time to change but they haven't so Um that's why um when you see a lot of older western men here that as soon as they arrive they're with uh Filipinos Filipino women and they're happy. It's because you know relationships are give and take, right? You got to give to take. Sometimes it could be equal.

[00:16:55]Sometimes one could be more than the other. But the majority of the time, Filipinos, Filipino women, they don't mourn a lot. They've already gone through so much with the Filipino men.

[00:17:07]And as soon as you start giving them just a little bit of attention, no matter in what area it is, they appreciate it. And that appreciation makes them very unique to Western foreigners, Western men. because miss western men didn't get what they're offering at where they come from in their relationships. So it's actually working both ways. So away from the haters, away from a lot of uh basically misunderstanding that this is what only Filipino women think of and as soon as they see you as a foreigner, they jump on you and they want to take advantage of you. No, it's just that there is so much to give that is stuck in them that it's never been appreciated as much. So as soon as they see the opportunity, they let it all out and probably from outside it looks like that but it's not.

[00:18:11]And majority of men recognizing that and they love it. They love the attention, right? So it can it goes both ways and I don't see anything wrong with that. It's business. End of the story. They know how to take care of business. We are our own business owners, right? So they just know how to take care of themselves. They mentally and physically and um again there they just have so much love to give.

[00:18:43]And uh so to me I I probably would say one of the best experiences that I've ever had and I've basically you know Canada is a very multicultural country. I basically went to a um school here. Um it's a Chinese international private school here close to where we are in Manila.

[00:19:10]And I just wanted to see if I can enroll my kids. I had a meeting with them in admin yesterday. And it just explained that majority of the students in their school, they have about 350 students, they're all foreigners, right? and they were so happy to announce we have kids from India, we have kids from Japan, we have kids from Korea now and we have from North America, Europe and that makes it very unique for them that all the kids can learn about each other. It's not just a Filipino culture, right? But in Canada, we already live that life. We have more than 200 different nationalities living in Canada next to each other. So we all learn how every culture is. Not only face to face uh we have access to each other interacting with each other also all the restaurants all the supermarkets that are opened up and we can basically learn about other cultures without even knowing one right we can just go to all restaurants and see how the cultures are. So in Canada we know we come from a background that we know a lot of cultures and we know exactly how the women are in either experiencing in relationships that we had or knowing somebody was dating somebody or married to somebody and we learned from other people's experiences we had colleagues we had basically uh on a daily basis we get to know and learn about a lot of cultures and I can tell you by far away Filipino culture Filipino women are one of the most uh attractive. A lot of uh love that can come from it. If you happen to be with the right person, you give just uh an inch, definitely you're going to get back 10 10 inches. Like that's how uh warm the culture is. That's how warm uh the womens are. and they just love to give and um take care of you. And again, majority of other men that are coming here for that same purpose know about this and uh they love it. I've spoken to so many older men here that are from different countries and um they're either new here, they just met somebody, they moved here, or they're already here for years. No one ever has so far complained. everybody, we all have the same good thing to say about Filipino woman and I think that it is something that it needs to be adjusted in some ways and um but again from my own experience so far here um you can't go wrong and as I said in the beginning there are probably bad apples everywhere but one thing about the Filipino culture is because they're in the of showcasing the abilities they have to the world, right? Nursing, doctors, uh caregivers, babysitters, that's their business to sell themselves to the whole world. They have one of the highest one of the best quality of hospitality service when it comes to um babysitters, caregivers and they're exporting to I think the rate of exporting is the highest percentage than any other country around the world. So to keep that image they need to take care of the business here back home. Right? So if there is any bad apple here, what I've learned, they don't mind to broadcast it to make sure everybody knows that this doesn't happen again, right? The smallest things sometimes in some areas can be the loudest. So that's why they're very careful. They're very careful not to screw things up because of the image.

[00:23:18]And that's why majority of men here are very satisfied, very happy with the choices they've made to move here away from the cost of living having your significant that you're happy with with minimum requirements.
