PMOS (polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome), formerly known as PCOS, is a condition that can be managed through dietary choices including nutrient-dense foods like acai bowls, matcha with banana syrup, and anti-inflammatory meals such as Thai red curry soup, while working with a registered dietitian to create sustainable lifestyle changes that don't negatively impact one's relationship with food.

what i eat in a day with PMOS 🍵 throwback thursday eps 5Added:
Delicious.
Good morning, friends, and welcome back to another video. If you're new here, my name is Sarah. It's very nice to meet you. It's Monday, Memorial Day, which means I don't have any work. And I've gotten all my other work done from all my other contract jobs and stuff, so I won't have to do too much today, which means we have a pretty free day, which means it would be >> really fun and cool and exciting >> for us to do another episode of Throwback Thursday, which is a series where we throw it back to OG YouTube vibes, early 2016 kind of energy for all the videos that made us fall in love with YouTube in the first place because it's 2026, so it's the 10 year anniversary of 2016. I feel like 2016 was the last time we were all truly happy. So, we're going to play homage to that with today's video. And we're doing a what I eat in a day, specifically with PMOS because if you haven't heard, they have changed the name of PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, to PMOS, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, which is so amazing and a really, really big deal specifically for women who have P POS and for just women around the world because it's a more what's it called? Inclusive diagnosis, a more inclusive name. I don't have cysts and I remember being told by a man man doctor that context is important because he's a man >> and he was wrong >> that I didn't have PCOS because I didn't have cysts in my body. Now, with PMOS, you don't have to have cysts to have PCOS or PMO, you understand what I'm saying? And it's a name that makes so much more sense for the condition because polyendocrine, which is your hormones and like your body and all that stuff. Metabolic, which is a way your body digests food and gives you energy. Ovarian, which is female organs, you know what I mean? And syndrome, cuz it's a syndrome. Anyways, what I eat in a day? It is currently 11:11. Make a wish, everyone.
I'm not going to tell you my wish because then it's not going to come true, but you can definitely put your wish in the comments. It is 11:11. It's time for us to eat breakfast. I actually should have eaten breakfast a lot earlier. I usually get up around 7ish and eat breakfast around 8ish, but I don't have work today. So, I slept in a little bit. And I've also just been feeling really mentally weird. So, I'm trying to like take care of my body. And if that means more sleep and just kind of lazing around, then that's what I'm going to do. cuz I've been go go go go go for the last since I got laid off really a year. Maybe some change. So, I deserve a little bit of a breaky poo, I think. Not me. I'm not justifying it. I don't have to justify myself. It's breakfast time. I have to go run some errands. So, while I was out, I picked up an acai bowl from Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Here she blows. Hopefully, this one's better than the one we had on my birthday. Not birthday, but you know, a girl can dream. It's not melted. Well, it is a little bit melted, but I think that's my fault cuz I picked it up late.
Um, I think it's the berry popping one.
I don't know why they keep putting whipped cream on the top of it. The other ones don't have whipped cream. So, anyways, it's got strawberries. Whipped cream. I guess I add bananas. It has dark chocolate chunks, blueberries, and then also I think it has like strawberry popping boba somewhere in here and some granola. So, oh, and I think a honey drizzle. I just be putting everything on there, honestly. But this is like a good one that I like to have like if I'm ordering out for breakfast because it has a lot of nutrients. It's got a lot of antioxidants, which is like the fruit and like dark chocolate is a good sweet treat if you have PCOS cuz it's not too sugary. It's got the honey, the bananas for the potassium and all that good jazz. Whatever's inai. I mean, it's got some sugar in it. It does. It does. But it's better than me getting like a I don't know, chicken biscuit, I guess. I don't know. Just going to eat this and watch my show and then you and I will check back in for lunch. It's 1:40, but because we had a late breakfast and a late start to the day, I'm not going to do like a full lunch. I'm just going to do a little snack plate situation because I also forgot to take my supplements this morning. So, I need to eat something so I can do that cuz better late than never. I want to make a little matcha and then also a little snack plate sitch. I got these little like what are they called? Um what are they called?
Does anyone know? Snackle snackle boxes.
Bento boxes. Whatever. I got a few of these. So, this is the one that's like just has three little compartments. I'm not super hungry right now, but again, we just need a little snack moment. So, take over to my pantry. We're going to see what we want to eat. I'm thinking I'm thinking I'm thinking I'm thinking peanut butter crackers would be good.
Cantaloupe.
I know there's some cheese in here. I feel like gura. Gura. Gura. Gura. Is this gura? Yeah. Gura. Before we plate everything though, we should heat up the water for the matcha.
There's water already in there.
Why am I walking to the sink then if there's water already in there?
While that's heating up, let's fill up our snack box. Do like six slices.
If I want more later, I can come back for more later. That is the beauty of free will.
I don't have a regular knife, so we're going to have to use a better one.
This is our finished little snack box.
How cute and amazing and delicious. So excited for her. But now we need to make the matcha.
I've seen people on Tik Tok pouring a little bit of water in there and then making a paste first. I want to see if I can do that.
I don't know why they do this, but I've seen them do it. So, I'm going to try it.
giving paste for shisel.
This is going to be a little matcha latte cuz I don't have a lot of ice left cuz our ice maker's broken and my mom took my ice trays out and you don't know why.
And I got this new banana syrup cuz I had this banana pudding matcha the other day and it was so good. which this is not going to be banana pudding. It kind of smells like it low key.
And now time for the best part.
Delish. There's still some nacho stuck at the bottom. So, hold on.
Here we go. Delish and divine. Delish and divine. I think I'm getting pretty good at this matcha thing, but it hasn't been as good as that first time. No, the second time I made it, you know, when I messed up in the birthday one and the first one wasn't good. That second one that we made to redeem ourselves was still the best one I've ever had. But we're going to try this one. See what the tea is. Get it like matcha tea. Get anyways.
Oh, that's really good. Ooh, that's good. That's good. That's good. That's good. That's good. The banana real good.
Mhm. My favorite flavors of matcha I've made so far are the lavender one. I made a rose one and then this banana one. So good. I feel it like brings out like the nuttiness of the matcha.
It's almost 7:00 p.m. and I just paused my Thai boilup drama so we could make Thai red curry soup for dinner. I've never made this before, so I'm following the recipe that my nurse registered dietician added to my meal plan. the meal plan that she specifically curated for me. So, as you guys know, I've been trying to manage my PMOS through my diet, which actually turned out to be a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. It's a full lifestyle change that affects every single part of my day. So, getting help from a registered dietitian through Nourish was so, so amazing. It was also super easy and quick to set up my appointment. And we talked about my PMOS, my decision fatigue when it comes to making meals, and how to keep eating fun and exciting because I really enjoy food. And I was really scared that this lifestyle change was going to affect my relationship with it, which I talked about in my first appointment on Nourish. And she just made it so approachable and easy to do in a way that will not affect my everyday life as much as I thought it was going to.
There's so much you can do with Nourish, like ordering your lab work and getting help interpreting the results. You can also track your meals on the macro level, which is a quick photo that you and your registered dietitian would go through together. And then my favorite part is the curated meal plans that come with recipes and grocery lists. my little type A heart. This is everything to me. So, if you were like me and you were looking for someone who truly understands living with PMOS and how to manage it through food, I would go ahead and book an appointment on Nourish with the link in my description. But after you do that, definitely come back cuz we're about to make this Thai red curry soup. And I'm so excited. It says it's supposed to take 25 minutes to make, 10-minute prep time, 15 minute cook time. But every single time someone tells me that, it always takes me at least an hour, especially when it's my first time making it. So, we're going to see. I went grocery shopping and got everything that I might need. The recipe calls for low sodium chicken broth, full fat coconut milk, one red bell pepper, some chicken, some red curry paste, some snap peas, some dry rice noodles, and canola oil, which I don't have, so we're going to use vegetable. The directions say to start by heating canola oil.
Wait, I should probably prep my stuff.
And here's where the problem lies. I go by the directions, the cooking instructions, and I forget that I have to prep before I start on the instructions. So, we're going to prep I'm really bad at cutting vegetables.
Like really bad at it. My motto is it's going to go into my belly. Doesn't need to be pretty.
This is ginormous.
What the heck, y'all?
I don't want to use my le crusette because I'm afraid it's going to stain.
So, what kind of pot do I need? Medium.
Medium pot.
Is this a medium pot? How come they don't like label them on the bottom?
This looks like a medium pot. Or is this a saucer? I think this should be fun. I think this should be Oh, that's good. That's good. Oh my god.
Wow. Wow. Oh my god. I'm so proud of myself.
That's so good.
Every time I make something that I'm proud of, I get out our fancy like holiday china and use it cuz I'm so proud. I want it to be pretty. Look how pretty it is. I don't want to spill it.
But it literally smells divine. And I'm so excited that it actually tastes good because I am the kind of person because I have a southern mother and if you know, you know I be adding random stuff to my recipes and it's very hard for me to follow a recipe. So the fact that I follow this one and it tastes good.
We're very excited. And actually did only take 25 minutes if you like prepped before cooking. Who would have thought?
And the bowl matches my spoon that I got in LA from this like Asian market. This is so good. I'm so excited. I can't wait to try the snap pee. I'm a little nervous about the noodle situation though because I usually like my noodles not as tender and I feel like these are gonna be super tender. But get a good bite. I think I should have probably cut like smaller pieces of chicken too. The broth like the soup portion is really good though. I already tasted that. I want to taste a snap pee though. I don't think I've ever had a snap pee before.
M. That's like a freshness. like a cool freshness to it.
Delicious. It's also a rainy day today, so like soup is kind of perfect and amazing for this. Probably wouldn't make this with noodles next time. I'd probably just make like the soup portion and then add like rice. This is really good. Yay. 10 out of 10 dinner. My favorite part of the day. Dessert.
Dessert. Dessert. We're just doing something small today because it's pretty late at night. I don't want to eat anything crazy. We have a little baby oat milk cream pie. They're definitely smaller than they were when we were kids. I feel like when we were kids, these are much bigger, but whatever. And then a piece of sea salt dark chocolate that I got from Aldi.
Dark chocolate is good for you to eat in like terms of sweet treats if you have PCOS. And I think just in general because there's like I don't know, less sugar I think. I don't know. But this I also forgot to tell you guys about my water intake today. So I've already drinken two of these little plastic water bottles. I find that I drink my water quicker when they are in these little plastic water bottles than when I do in like my bigger water bottle, but I also don't like using the plastic water bottles because, you know, I like to protect the earth and I have other water bottles. So, I prefer to use those. This was in my room all day and it's dirty and I forgot to clean it out. So, I've been drinking out this plastic ones today. So, this is my second one that I had and then this is my third one that I'm going to keep by my bed. I love water. I drink so much water. I love water. That's the end of what I eat in a day. This was a realistic day chilling with me eating and trying to implement the different things that I do with having PMOS, which is like getting my protein and my fibers, my antioxidants and anti-inflammatory things and having like snacks and just eating like with my body instead of eating against it, if that makes sense. That's all I got for you guys and I live, laugh, love you and I'll see you in the next video.
