So now working on this now what do we need now from the specimen in the acid a we have the 5.6 cm per dm solution and the base we have this 4.0 g per dm solution. Now what do we need to do in calculating this?

[00:03:42]That's the end point. That's the titration end point. But we are not doing titration. We are doing it theoretically. Like we are doing it using theory, not the practical aspect.

[00:03:57]That's going to be our VA, which is going to be CB VB N A then all over C A C A N B sorry that's NB C A N B. So by the time you collect like 10 by time you make VA sub formula then you have the CB VB NA all over CA NB. Now what do we do? Let us look for those parameters.

We have the H2SO4 here which is the sulfuric acid and and it is also a strong acid and we have the NaOH which is a what a base known as costic soda and it is also a strong base. So this so this 26 Y practical is a titration between a strong acid and a strong base and mind you if you're titrating strong acid and strong base you can use any suitable indicator you wish to use you can use any suitable indicator you wish to use all right so now let's do the let's write the question of the reaction we have it as H2SO4 which will be in a state aq so it is reacting with sodium hydroxide that is the NaOH.

[00:05:30]So after writing this equation of the reaction then let's balance the reaction. So okay hydrogen is two here is also here. Sulf is one here is one here. Oxygen is how many? Five here. It is also five here. For sodium is one here is two here. So let me balance here with two balance between sodium becomes two here. You have two here. Oxygen is now hydrogen is now four. Let me let me just put two here. So I think it's balanced now. You have hydrogen is four here is also four here. Sulf is one. One sodium is two is two. Hydro oxygen is um sorry oxygen is six here is six here as well. And hydrogen too everything is balanced. So we already get that. Now what do we need to get next? We actually need to get our we have gotten our NB. We need our CB, VB and CA. Okay. So I'm looking for the BN.

[00:08:23]So all mass. All right. So again we have the B in that is equals to B in G per DM all over M. Good. So what is the concentration of B in G per DM? Now look at it here. You can see this this is the concentration of B in g. This is the g 4.0 per dm. This is just going to be 4.0 0 g per dm cq solution. So I just come over here and to write 4.0 g per dm cube. So all over what's the mar mass of sodium hydroxide or for mass of sodium hydroxide. So that's going to be that's going to be sodium is 23 plus oxygen is 16 then hydrogen is 1. So this is going to be g per mole. So by the time we do this, this is going to be 4.0 g by dm all over this going to be 40 g.

[00:09:28]So if g cancel then we are left with let me just do the calculator that's going to be um 4.0 0 / 40 and that's giving us 0.1 as you can see that's 0.1 mole per dmq. All right.

[00:09:49]So let me put that here. So definitely our CD is going to be 0.1 mole dmq and that is the concentration of our beads. Then the next thing to now look for you can see that these are the parameters we want to get. We want to get our NA. We want to get our NB, our VB, our C A and our CB. But thank God we have been able to get But thank God we have been able to get our N A N B VB and then CB it remains CA. Now how do we get CA? To get CA there is a there's a special formula to get CA.

[00:10:34]Now the special formula is going to be 10 * specific gravity specific gravity multiply by percentage purity all over the molar mass of the acid.

[00:11:00]Now look at this formula. This formula is for us to get the concentration of the acid in DNQ. But it's going to be the con form. You know when you want to dilute an acid like you have to dilute it from a con form from a concentrated form to a diluted form. So we need to calculate the concentration of the acid of H2SO4 in the concentrated form first. So before we now calculate it in the diluted form you know that student cannot use this acid inuted form. It is the picture that we need to dilute it to make it I mean with water with probably distilled water in order to reduce the concentration so that it not be harmful to their skin or whatsoever. So what we are trying to do now we are trying to calculate the concentration of the acid in the concentrated form not in diluted form. After you have gotten this then we will now reverse it to diluted form. You understand? Because you have to use this acid in diluted form. You are not use in the concentrated form. Okay. So for you to calculate this concentration of a which is the inn of the concentrated form. The formula required is 10 * specific gravity time percent purity divided by the mar mass of the acid. So from the specimen it is also given that all schools should use same specific gravity and same percentage purity meaning that this year VA right like which which is the end point it seems that all schools should get something similar like all answers should be closed across the whole Nigeria. So because of the because of why has specified that all of you should use the same specific gravity and you should use the same percentage purity meaning that the acid a school use must have equal percentage purity and specific gravity.

[00:13:03]So from the Y specimen it was stated there that the specific gravity that should be used should be 1.84 1.84 84 and the percentage purity for H2S04 is 98%.

[00:13:21]98% according to the instruction. So divided by the mar mass of H2SO4. So the mar mass of HSO4 that's going to be 19.

[00:13:31]But let's try to work it. That's 1 * 2 plus sulfur is 32 + 16 * 4. So now let's do the mathematics. That is the CA. So using the calculator now then we have it as um let's use the calculator we have 10 * 1.84 * 98 so that's giving us 1,00 83.2 2 divided by that's 98. Okay, 98.

[00:14:06]So 1,00 that means the answer divided by 98.

[00:14:14]So that's giving us 18.4 as you can see it here that is 18.4.

[00:14:20]So we have our CA which is equals to 18.4.

[00:14:26]So that's going to be in um M per dm cq.

[00:14:31]Okay, you can see that for this to be 18.4 that means it is very very very concentrated. So this is the concentrated form 18.4.

[00:14:42]Yeah. So after that then we now need to get the diluted form like the diluted form of our CA. So for we to get the diluted form of our CA there is a formula which I believe that most students should be familiar with. We call the dilution factor formula. So the formula is C1 V1 is equals to C2 V2. Now looking at this formula C1 means initial concentration V1 means initial volume.

[00:15:12]Then C2 means final concentration and then V2 means final volume. So our main aim is the final concentration. You understand? The final concentration means after after after diluted like after you have diluted it with water distilled water then what is now going to be the final concentration and that's going to be the C2.
