YouTube’s reliance on opaque algorithms over human judgment creates a precarious environment where creators are unfairly penalized for phantom violations. This systemic failure highlights the urgent need for transparency and human accountability in platform governance.

We have to talk about the Jay from the Kubz Scouts situation
Added:Okay guys, we have a situation on our hands. We need to talk about this. And literally just found out about this today. So, uh Jay from the Cub Scouts uh just released a video called an entire series on my channel is gone. And if you didn't watch it, it is uh him talking about how he had to delete every single one of his Yandere Simulator videos. And uh there was a he has really good reason for doing that and is ultimately the same reason why I also deleted all of my Yandre Simulator videos on my channel.
That was it's it honestly really hurts to to remove all of those videos because for one I had a ton of videos even more than Jay from the Cub Scouts. Uh but he overall was the most popular Yandere Simulator YouTuber uh you know back when he did play that game. Uh again, yeah, we both stopped playing that for obvious reasons. And again, I'm not I'm not going to talk about that whole Yandere Dev situation. And I mean, I'm just going to speak for myself, but the reason why I kept my videos up is because A, I had so many of those videos. And B, like when you take videos down, the only the people that are like really hurting the most are the people that enjoyed watching that content, you know, for the fond memories or whatever reason, you know? Yeah. No, they're gone now. So, it's it's a really weird feeling and it it it really does suck because there's and Jay talked about this in his video as well. There were so many memories and it's about the time of it's about where you were at in life when you made those certain videos. So just to see all of that be erased is it it really it really does suck. Like it hurts and it feels like you're losing a part of your life that was sort of documented. Even if it's just a dumb video series, it still did represent a a piece of what you who you were at that time. And yeah, it's gone now. And it it just it just really sucks, you know. But let me get into the reason why um you know Jay and I also decided to do that.
Um this hasn't just been happening to Jay. It's not like just him. There's been many like multiple channels in recent months that have been terminated.
Like this example right here. This person had a YouTube channel that was 10 and a half years old. Like that's almost as long as my channel. They had 23,000 videos. Holy crap. And the reason why YouTube deleted their channel was because of violent criminal organization policy, which is very vague, by the way, and also a total mistake. Uh, but for some reason, um, there's many documented cases about this where Yandere Simulator content specifically is getting targeted. Now, luckily, I was not targeted at all at all. I didn't get any notices. Like sure in the past I've gotten many videos of Android Simulator demonetized, age restricted even, but it's never been I've never gotten anything like this. So apparently this policy, the violent criminal organiz organization policy was just implemented like not that long ago. It it can I I don't I don't know exactly when, but it's probably only been a few months since this has been happening. And I'm going to be very careful to not read everything they say in this policy because I'm scared of them thinking that if I read keywords then they're going to think this video is also a violation of that policy. The policy exists so you do not promote or glorify criminal organizations. right now. Obviously, Yandere Simulator or games like it did not do that. And anyone that watches those videos can clearly see that that is not what those videos did. But the reason why I ultimately went ahead to decide to remove all of my Android Simulator videos, and there was a lot there. There was a way more than Jade did, but his was way more popular than me. I'm going to play the part where he talks about like what happened. Uh, and I'll add some more to it. Basically, I'm gonna start talking about what exactly happened. So, basically, um, on June 11th, shout out to my boy Raiden. That was his birthday. He would have been 16 years old. Rest in peace. Miss him every single day. Uh, June 11th, I woke up and I went on YouTube.
>> That was just a few days ago.
>> And I get like a notification. It wasn't just like a notification that you see like on like the bell or anything like that. It was like in my face. It said uh community guidelines violation and I was just like like I keep in mind I just woke up like maybe 20 minutes. So I was kind of like what the [ __ ] What is this? So I look and yeah it says community guidelines violation and I click on it cuz you can click on the details of what the violation is and it was a Yandere Simulator video from 2015.
I don't remember exactly when it was because they took down the video, but it was June or either July or June of 2015.
11 years ago, like 11 years ago, they decided to give me a community guidelines violation. You know, they said it was because of violent criminal organizations. Let me actually see the actual word violence.
>> Yeah. So, I read through the entire thing and what Yeah, it does not apply.
absolutely does not apply whatsoever.
And it's really stupid. It's so ridiculous that you can have a video up for literally a decade and all of a sudden YouTube decides it's not okay anymore. Uh and it's here's the the kicker is that it's not even real people that decide these things. It's literally AI just going through or their bots, whatever it is, because you know, they've always had like this kind of automated system. It's automated systems that just go and random like they they see a keyword and they automatically assume that you're a bad person because of this keyword or anything. It could be for any reason, but it's not taking it to any any of the context about what the video actually is. It's a gameplay. It's not real. He's clearly not promoting any organizations or anything like that.
It's a video game, right? Like there's games like Call of Duty and games like Grand Theft Auto. So, like, you know, I feel like when we talk about those kinds of games, wouldn't it make more sense if like a game like Grand Theft Auto or how about that one Japanese video game with that Japanese organization? It's literally in the name, right? Actually, I was talking to Rasboski about this earlier and he he brought that up and I'm like, yeah, like how is that that game? I'm not even going to say the name because I'm scared of saying like any kind of organization, but it's the Japanese organization. It starts with a Y. There's literally entire series called that. So, how are games like that okay? But like, you know, when it comes to like Yandere Simulator, the only thing that I can see is that maybe because it's in a school maybe, but still given the whole context, it's a video game. There's nothing real about it. It's a person commentating over a video game. So, there's so many layers.
It's not what the policy is about. But here's the part where I actually decided to go ahead and follow suit uh and remove my videos as well because this is scary.
>> So, the next thing that I do is I go to my email and I don't actually have a YouTube partner manager anymore. I used to, but they emailed me saying that YouTube is going to go more like AI oriented. So, if you have any questions, you can go through that. But, I mean, we all know how good that is. So, I >> Yeah, it's it's so it's so frustrating.
I've had two partner managers. The first one decided to like move on and do something else and then I got a new one.
I think the whole system is really stupid. I will say that my my last uh partner manager that I did have did actually help me with something that was really important. Um that like I'm not going to get into, but it was really important that they did help me out and that was the one helpful thing that they really really did. But anytime I had a problem with like the demonetization uh that I didn't agree with, they always came back and said that there was nothing they can do. So it was like really kind of useless. and they it just didn't help at all, you know. But the only times the partner manager really helps is when you like you're in a dire emergency situation where your channel is going to get deleted. That's the only time it helps. But even now, like they're kind of phasing that out. So, it's like as a YouTuber, um this is why I say I don't I really don't think people should become a YouTuber. It's too risky. It's way too risky because literally this this proves what I'm about to say. At any point during your YouTube career, I don't care how big you are because Jay and Jay's a great example of this. He's way bigger than I am. Your channel could just get deleted for whatever reason. It could just be this random new policy. This is the exact example. A random new policy gets implemented and things that were okay for literally over a decade. All of a sudden, they're not okay because AI bots decided so and all of a sudden your channel is gone and your livelihood is gone. And that is so unfair. I what I think is the most the kicker is that they don't give you a warning at all.
They just they just do it all. Well, so in Jay's case, um so the way that the system works is that you get a guidelines like warning. It used to be you just get three strikes and you're out. But now you get a warning and then after the warning, I think you get three strikes and then your channel is completely deleted. Take it from a person who has almost had his channel deleted over Tide Pods. Uh that I don't know if you guys remember that, but my channel actually I got two strikes uh back in the day over Tide Pods because YouTube thought that I was glorifying Tide Pods. You know, I'm not going to say it because I'm too scared to talk about it. Saying Tide Pods still sends shivers down my spine. Yeah. So, back then you didn't even get a warning at first, but now you get a warning. So, it sounds like he got his video removed and got a warning. Uh now other YouTubers that have talked about this uh it just says on their thing that they have they have severe or repeated violations and then they just removed the channel. So it sounds like Jay actually got really lucky in this case because they could have just said that they found severe, you know, kind of bundled it all up and then just deleted your channel. Uh but it sounds like he just got a warning on one video and in this case he just got lucky when other people didn't, you know, get so lucky. I'm going to email my old YouTube partner manager. So, I went through my emails and I found his email and I emailed him and I was like, "Hey, bro. Um, I got this community guidelines violation and if I get three of them, my channel gets taken down."
So, YouTube goes off like a strike system and if you get three strikes, your channel is completely gone. And that is probably going to be one of the toughest things to get put back on YouTube because it is so hard to get in contact with anybody because a lot of things these days, I don't know exactly how YouTube works, >> but in my opinion, I think that, >> you know, it's mostly just AI stuff. So you you're basically just talking to AI.
So >> yeah, it's it's it's disturbing.
Honestly, I think it's very disturbing that you can't you can't get in contact with the person like these are our livelihoods. People have families, right? Like my my family like we we rely on this thing. And if this was taken away, literally you would be screwed.
Like you know, what do you do? You would have to just figure out a new plan, I guess. You know, it it would be absolutely awful.
And you know, not even to mention just the countless hours that have put into doing this. It's it's a horrible feeling to feel like at any point your livelihood could be can just be taken away because of some like [ __ ] policy. And this is exactly what YouTubers go through. And I'm not saying I'm not saying oh feel sorry for me. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying it shouldn't be that way. There should be some sort of safeguards or at least a warning to be like hey you know you know maybe YouTube can reach out to you be like hey all right listen we know that you're probably acting in good faith but we have this new policy. maybe uh this kind of content that you're doing um we're giving you a heads up. You can go ahead and remove it and it'll be okay because they can see that you're acting in good faith, right? Like we're not like he's not Jay's not a criminal. Like we're not criminals here, but for some reason YouTube will treat you like you're a criminal just because of you know their bots say so which is absolutely just stupid. I'll never forget. So, so my channel was going to get deleted like back in like 2017 because I was reacting to the Tide Pod thing and um never once in my videos did I say, "Oh, you guys should do it." I I think I specifically mentioned not to do it in my videos, but YouTube thought that I was glorifying it or whatever.
And then, thank God I I'm going to I'm going to shout them out again. LD Shadow Lady. LD Shadow Lady, I reached out to her because she followed me on Twitter.
She helped me out. Shout out to Matias.
Yeah, Matias. I reached out to him as well. He also helped me out. And I'll also never forget when Justin Wang uh actually put out a video talking about that whole situation and uh I've been a fan ever since then cuz I didn't even know about you until you made that video. But luckily I was able to reach out to these people and they were able to get me in touch with a partner manager or something and luckily my channel was reinstated. But literally like it it was crazy. My channel was almost gone just like that. And you know, you can't get a hold of YouTube unless you make a fuss about it on Twitter. And that's not how it should be. Especially when you're over a certain subscriber count at least, like there has to be some sort of thing in place to where if your channel gets deleted, there has to be a human involved saying like, "Hey, this is not right." You know, but I I talk about that because here's what happened to Jay.
>> I emailed my guy and I told him, "Hey, man. I got this community guidelines violation of a video that was 11 years ago and if I get three then the channel's going to be taken down. I'm not trying to have my channel taken down, you know, off stuff that was from a long time ago. And he was like, "Oh, just submit an appeal and then once you submit the appeal, maybe I can take a deeper look into it and I can figure out what's going on." So, I submitted an appeal and when you submit an appeal, basically, you're asking for the video to be reinstated. But for me, on my end, I just wanted like to know why. I wanted to know >> like why video from a long time ago when these policies weren't in effect. I'm getting punished for videos that were like on YouTube for years and years and years, but now it's getting punished for that policy. It's kind of like if you're doing something um and then you know you post it and then years later you know there's a new rule and then they punish you for something that wasn't a rule before. I want to know what I can do. so I don't get any more strikes on the channel because that's the most important thing to me. Like I stopped playing this game years ago and I'm fine with that, but I just want to know what it is specifically >> so I can um you know handle that. So, like I said, this all happened on June 11th and then a couple days passed and then I finally get the notification that the appeal got rejected and I kind of assumed that it was going to because if they, you know, took it down >> and I didn't change anything about the video because they took it down, then >> they're going to reject it again because they saw something in it that made them take it down in the first place. I don't even know what I'm trying to say.
>> I mean, you can go watch his video. He talks he's talking about like, you know, something that happened to his channel before. Um, but isn't that awful? Like that's absolutely awful that they couldn't take a look like you couldn't get a human to actually take a look at the video and realize that he is not promoting this policy. He's not he's not trying to say go, you know, do this crazy things or join, you know, I'm not even I can't even say it because like I'm too scared. But clearly like I know Jay would never do something like that.
So it was it was a mistake. It is a mistake and he got rejected. And we're talking about Jay, someone that is like like two, three, four times the size of my channel. So if someone like Jay from the Cub Scouts can't get help, what are the odds that I could get help? You know, it's so random. You know, even Corey Kitchen has dealt with these problems. Every YouTuber has dealt with these problems of just randomness. It's complete chaos and randomness. And sometimes where there's a problem, all we want is for YouTube to explain what is the issue, what is the policy, and and tell me how I can fix it so I don't do it again because you're literally in the dark and it just does it's all nonsensical. It's all of it. Like none of it is sensical, right? There's lots of violent video games. If this is just about violent video games, well, they're everywhere and everyone plays violent video games and they have been for years and years and years and years on YouTube. If this is just about violent video games, okay, well, why is Call of Duty okay, right? In that, in that game, you you know, it's a shooting game, but nobody in their right mind is gonna see a video of a video game and think that it's real or it's encouraging you to go do the same thing. I just don't know how to make sense of it. It it it doesn't make any sense. I don't see why a real human just can't reach out and say what is actually wrong. But instead, he got just silenced. rather than risk your whole entire channel being deleted, you might as well just delete it all, you know, delete all those videos because clearly there's multiple people that are playing the same game and so the common denominator is Yandere Simulator and they're getting taken down. Yeah, that's what I did, too. Now, I, you know, when I was doing research, I don't want you guys to get the wrong idea because obviously I don't support Yandere Dev and I don't play the game anymore. I stopped a long time ago after the whole situation happened. But he did talk about this on his blog post and apparently he was able to reach out and actually get people's channels uh reinstated for a little bit. I because I just this is just on research and so I guess he was sending channels that were getting deleted to YouTube his partner manager they were getting reinstated and then eventually they told him to stop sending him channels uh sending YouTube channels and they stopped reinstating people. Why? I don't know. But that's the short of the situation is that yeah, it says right here, a few days ago, the YouTube policy team instructed the partner manager just out sending them uh terminated channels to review. They did not provide any reason for the sudden decision as if they're simply gotten tired of constantly being informed of wrongfully terminated channels. They just want don't want to hear about it anymore. Yes, you read that correctly.
The YouTube policy is fully aware that dozens of channels have been wrongly terminated and they absolutely could do something about it. But at this point moving forward, they've decided to just wrongfully terminate channels uh and have them remain terminated. So given all of that information, I decided to follow suit and uh also uh copy Jay.
I've been accused of copying Jay so much. I've decided to copy Jay for the Cub Scouts once more and delete my Yandre Simulator videos. Um, now I have more questions. Like, you know, there's other content that is similar in in certain ways. So, I don't know. It just seems to be only Yandere Simulator content. And I just want to give a PSA that if you ever think about becoming YouTuber, just know that it is something that could end never or it could end a year into your YouTube career because they decided to just delete your channel for some reason that you have no control over. Just be aware of that because I know that a lot of kids these days, they want to become YouTubers. Like I I hear about like teachers talking about how all their kids saying, "Oh, I want to be a YouTuber one day." Well, there's a lot of fun and rewarding parts about it, but there's a lot of like things that really will make you feel on edge and just not ever really feel comfortable um while you're a YouTuber because it just feels like you you just shouldn't have to feel like your livelihood could be taken away for no reason. But anyway, millions of views, like millions upon millions of views have just been deleted from my channel. And you know, I will say the one thing that kind of is the bright side of this whole situation is that I guess I could finally move on from Yandere Simulator completely. Again, I left the videos on there for you guys that enjoyed that kind of content. And I enjoyed, you know, at the time I enjoyed making those videos. It I I hate that that whole situation happened. I don't know why people have to be the way that they are. I wish you they would just stop because uh yeah, I was a fan of the game at one point and I did I look forward to like the updates, but what are you going to do? What are you going to freaking do? You know, just even going to this blog post again is very strange to see this again. Uh to see anything about the game again, but I guess this is finally the final nail in the coffin of Yandere Simulator. And you know, like if you're a fan of the game, like I I'm I don't you could do whatever you want. That's what I've always said.
You do whatever you want, but I guess this is really it. And I'm really I'm hoping that me deleting all those videos isn't going to hugely impact my channel.
But I guess it's better than my channel being deleted possibly because Jay mentioned this in his video that at any moment, like any second, literally any second, those videos are up because of this random policy that just came out, your your channel could be deleted. And there was there's nothing that you can do about it other than just try to prevent it by going nuclear and just deleting videos, hundreds of videos, millions and millions of views that people enjoyed.
It's It's insane. I hope that this doesn't happen with other content because I don't know what the hell we're going to do. Like, right, what is Baldi not okay next? Can I not do Baldi anymore? Can I have nothing?
Uh, yeah. Um, thank you to everyone that still supports me and has been supporting me. This channel's been through lots of ups and downs. Um, and you know, I've gotten to the point where I've just been just thankful that I have been able to do this as long as I have. It is a it is a blessing and I thank God that I've been able to do this for as long as I have because people would there's thousands and thousands of people that would love to do what I get to do every single day. And when I look at it from that perspective, I'm very thankful to be in this position. And one day I will quit YouTube, but I don't want it to be because I didn't not today. I didn't want it to be because of that. So, I'm sorry to everyone that enjoyed that those videos.
I didn't want to delete I didn't want to delete them. I really really really didn't. So, I'm still going to be making videos as normal and I hope you watch them. Um, you know, luckily I don't think all my Yandre Simulator videos were getting that many views or anything like that. So, I think I'll be okay.
But it still sucks because it was a part of my life that I can't see ever again because they're gone now. I'm hoping that YouTube changes in the future because you shouldn't have to worry about stuff like this, especially when you're not actually doing anything
