Quick Fixes in Apartment Maintenance

[00:03:39]So, what you can do is run to any hardware store, Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and get you some of this Frost King foam weather stripping.

[00:03:51]Now, what I do first is I take my finger, peel this back, take my finger and clean that up a little bit so the adhesive sticks.

[00:04:00]I just run my finger along. Doesn't have to be perfect.

[00:04:05]Just want that adhesive to stick.

[00:04:07]So, when you go to the store to get your Frost King weatherstripping, you want 3/4 in wide, 5/16 thick.

[00:04:16]That's what works for most doors around here, anyway.

[00:04:20]All these doors are pretty common. So, you peel this back, put your Frost King down in here like that, stick it to the frame.

[00:04:34]Now, they also make corner pieces. Well, they look like little corner weatherstripping pieces, and you can just stick them in there, and they'll stick on here as well.

[00:04:44]I don't have that, so I use the Frost King. Now, we shouldn't see any light through the bottom.

[00:04:49]All right, here goes the true test. If you don't see light, you're good to go.

[00:07:11]I put some of these Ever Clean condensate pan tabs in there.

[00:07:16]Breaks up and removes dirt, grime, and slime from condensate pans to control foul odors and overflows. So, I'll put like two on each side.

[00:07:28]All right. As you can see, the pan is empty.

[00:07:33]Float switch empty.

[00:07:37]I mean, there's just a little bit of amazing turning get that out.

[00:07:41]I'm going to leave the fan on to help with the drying cuz it leaked a little bit.

[00:07:47]Just leave the fan on to the air handler.

[00:07:49]It'll dry it up pretty quick.

[00:07:53]Here are those pan tabs.

[00:07:58]And and two on this side. That'll do it.

[00:08:05]Put the floater back.

[00:08:07]And that's it.
