[00:11:34]>> Concept. It I was reading a little bit that their first album was a concept album, so maybe um this was really good. I mean, we said a lot throughout the video of what we liked, but I do I did very much appreciate, like you said, that it never got too heavy.

[00:11:53]>> Um it kind of always stayed at a very comfortable point. Um I heard like some Indian there, like >> Yeah. Yes.

[00:12:02]>> heavy, like distorted >> Yes, but not like even though it was you know djent?

[00:12:10]>> Yes.

[00:12:10]>> Like I talked about it sometimes. Djent music is usually like it's metal, but it's when it's tuned a little bit like further down.

[00:12:20]>> Okay.

[00:12:21]>> So it's just like djent djent djent. You get like these really low notes.

[00:12:25]>> Uh-huh.

[00:12:26]>> And I think I felt this a little bit in that area, like realm.

[00:12:30]>> Right.

[00:12:30]>> Mhm.

[00:12:30]>> And it's nothing like negative. Um on the contrary, it's just a style, and I think they instead of just playing like normal tuning, they just play a little bit could be with the voice or something. But what I really loved about this track was all the piano >> Mhm.

[00:12:47]>> arrangements, and it's two of these guys are piano players, which that also that already gives you so much ideas to work with, because you somebody could work on the chords, and then somebody could just work on the melodies, >> Yeah.

[00:13:02]>> or just like because there was even some techno, and I thought at the beginning I was like >> Did he switch to techno? You know, instead of prog.

[00:13:10]>> Yeah.

[00:13:11]>> Um but very sur- very surprising, and I'm 100% sure this is not a drum machine.

[00:13:17]>> Right. There's no drummer mentioned, but yeah.

[00:13:20]>> like not mentioned, but there's a I need to know.

[00:13:24]>> There's a fourth member on the picture, but not really in the bio >> Yeah.

[00:13:29]Yeah, not even on their like website or anything.

[00:13:33]>> Yeah. I mean, they're also presented as a trio, but I'm sure they hired someone.

[00:13:37]You can't Like there's no way.

[00:13:40]>> It sounded >> that I mean I'm not a a guy that Eric listens to Ron Jarzombek. He has everything programmed. Even though he has a brother who's an amazing drummer, but he sometimes just since he already knows >> What he >> drumming and programming, he just does that. He programs the drums.

[00:14:00]>> Um Yeah, and they sound so real. So, at first I was like maybe since there was no drummer mentioned on Prog Archives, maybe it's a drum machine, but nah, I don't think so. Also, the bass that sounded a little bit like All right, sorry guys, we had a technical difficulty. I don't know, I think Marley was down there moving the cables. And we were just like, "Oh god, the whole song didn't record."

[00:14:25]>> whole video we thought >> is dead. We have to do it again. And we hate doing that. We usually don't do it.

[00:14:30]We tell the person, "Send us a new song."

[00:14:33]>> Right.

[00:14:34]>> But um so overall, I was just talking about when we noticed about the bass that it was very bass um >> Like it had an effect.

[00:14:45]>> Yeah, there was an effect on the bass, but you could also hear the bass like quite a lot in the forefront. It was like I think that the bass player is like very much involved because there's bands where you barely hear the bass. It's just like, you know, playing along. And this was just very upfront and center, you know, which which I like.

[00:15:06]>> really liked that, too. It was a like a little bit lower, um and just fuller, I guess. It had more body.

[00:15:14]Um yeah, I also really enjoyed the spoken word part. Uh >> I know, and I really wanted to pull up the lyrics.

[00:15:21]>> no lyrics.

[00:15:21]>> There were no lyrics, so we kind of messed up on that. But, you know, with music like this, I I really prefer, on the first listen, >> Mhm.

[00:15:30]>> just to focus on the music, and then the next time I might, you know, check out the lyrics.

[00:15:36]>> Yeah.

[00:15:36]>> you know. But, but yeah, very interesting, you know, it's just different. Um, and it's it's the typical, you know, in the description it said, "If you enjoy Dream Theater." I don't think it sounded like Dream Theater at all. Not by a long shot. It was completely different, and that's a good thing.

[00:15:51]>> Yeah.

[00:15:52]>> Uh, they have their own style, their own sound. Um, the keyboards are not like >> Mhm.

[00:15:58]>> There was actually no solo.

[00:16:00]>> Right. You're right.

[00:16:01]>> was more like djenty, more like rhythm.

[00:16:04]>> Mhm.

[00:16:04]>> I love There was like melodies that were kind of like intertwined, like two guitars playing >> Mhm.

[00:16:11]>> like the same thing, but in a high and a low register. So, it was almost like harmony guitar.

[00:16:16]>> And the vocals >> Mike is a little bit crackly. Can you >> Oh, I don't hear cracking, but we can check it right now.

[00:16:23]Um, but I I think the vocal arrangements um were also very cool, you know, there were some like whispers and layers, and just I don't know, I'm I'm appreciating all of that. Um, cuz I'm trying to also just pay extra attention to that, since we're learning how to record and everything.

[00:16:44]>> So, um, yeah, man, this was really really interesting.

[00:16:48]>> Yeah.
