Failing to pay bills such as rent, student loans, medical bills, and credit cards can result in severe consequences including lease termination, wage garnishment, tax return seizure, lawsuits, and even criminal charges (such as felony for unpaid furniture debt), making it essential to maintain financial responsibility and seek alternative solutions like income-driven repayment plans or debt negotiation rather than simply ignoring obligations.

Millions of People Have Quietly Stopped Paying Their Bills
Added:Okay, so as y'all know, I haven't paid rent in my apartment six since September and it's now May.
>> And one thing I know and two for show, them student loans never getting paid off.
>> So about a year ago, I kind of had a nervous breakdown and stopped participating in capitalism. And what I mean by that is like I stopped paying my bills.
>> And it's official, Americans are done paying their bills. And when I say bills, I mean rent, student loans, medical bills, car notes, and things that actually matter. So it's going to get crazy as we go on throughout the course of this video. Please don't be shy, drop your comments whether it be good, bad, in between, or just a helpful piece of advice. Consider subscribing not only because we have a public goal of hitting 100,000 by the end of the year, but most importantly it helps push the video out to more people so they can learn from all these crazy mistakes because not paying your bills, let's just say it might backfire which you'll see throughout the course of the video.
At a minimum, give this a thumbs up.
It'll at least show me you enjoyed something about the video. But without further ado, let's jump into the first clip.
>> Okay, so as y'all know, I haven't paid rent in my apartment six since September and it's now May. Um my lease technically ends June something. Um but a few months ago, I got a letter from my leasing office that they were um not only not letting me renew my lease, but they were early terminating my lease um which would have been effective I think April 26th.
And um April 26th came and went. I ignored that notice. As y'all know, I'm the put your bills in the freezer.
Um so I put that notice in that letter in the freezer as well.
And so since getting that letter they >> Are we being pranked right now? Like this is actually happening. Like this is not only crossing their minds, they're consciously and intentionally making these decisions.
This is it gets crazy. There was one time I maybe like a month or two ago when the people in the leasing office came by and we were just basically asking like do you have the money whatever whatever. I'm just like oh you know blah blah blah whatever. And they were like okay well the sheriff is going to be here this week. I'm like okay cool. Then you know I closed the door and went back to work.
Today I get a knock on my door and it says it's maintenance and I'm like I didn't call maintenance. And then um I get up to go get the door and it's the people from the leasing office again and they're like oh sorry we had the wrong door and they started knocking on my neighbor's door. But I'm like y'all are not even the maintenance team. Like the maintenance team is a bunch of old ass men. So I just think it's funny how like whatever spirit is doing is working and they're probably just so genuinely confused about how I'm still here chilling like and it's just funny to me. I thought I would share that um for anyone who's discouraged because I had a few people asking like oh how do you know if it works? Like does it really work? Like clearly it does because my I'm still here like >> I'm sorry I had to shut off the video.
I'm going crazy here. What did I just hear? So she's romanticizing and actually encouraging and empowering people to do the same thing. Like Whoa, we need to go to the comments.
What's the backstory? This is crazy.
First comment says hope you've been saving your money. Yeah, I agree with them. Second comment says didn't pay rent October 21st to September 22nd.
When I was about to get evicted, I applied for rental assistance and they paid the past due plus the rest of the year. So to their other friends, it looks like that was during COVID. So maybe we'll give them an exception. But either way, I wouldn't just stop paying.
But yeah, we're not going to get into COVID and politics and Don't do this. Don't be fooled. Is the third comment and I'm going to ride with them. What do you guys think? Do you know someone who did this? Because if so, we need to have a talk with them.
You know what I'm You know what I'm saying?
Would you do this? Am I wrong for saying don't do this? Like am I missing something here? Let's go to the next video.
>> So, about a year ago, I kind of had a nervous breakdown and stopped participating in capitalism. And what I mean by that is like I stopped paying my bills and stopped giving a [ __ ] about my credit score that I had been working years and years and years to fix because as I paid more and more, they were like, "Penalty!" And so >> Notice how she said years to fix, not key pie. So, it sounds like she has a background to not paying her bills. Pay attention, people. Pay attention.
>> I was like, "You know what? I don't even care."
I just stopped. And like now I'm getting all these things in the mail where they're like, "You owe us money." And I'm like, "Prove it." And my credit score is somehow going up. It's like, "We see all the hard work you've done at ignoring this. So, like, we're going to give you points cuz that's I think how it really works. So, anyway, I guess the point is um none of this is real.
We're on a big floating rock in the middle of, you know, the universe.
And it's all made up and the points don't matter. You're doing great.
>> So, let's say it was all made up. It's a simulation, right? I have those nights we all we're sitting in bed and we're like, "Hmm.
May- maybe so, right? Like, even if it is still here. We're still here, right? We still got to do the right thing or at least I believe that. I don't know what you guys believe, but what? What's wild to me or it's actually not that wild that everything is so split. First comment says, "15 years of not paying my student loans, still doing great."
Second comment says, "Girl, I don't need this kind of encouragement. I'm barely hanging on." So, it's someone that wants to take awareness versus this lady who's not Excuse me. Accountability, not awareness. But yeah, we'll put that in that that also applies to shoe fits, right? Next comment says, "Just started not caring about student loans, credit cards, and medical bills. 10 out of 10, highly recommend." I would love to or where they're going to be 5-10 years from now because it's easy to be cute and say that and romanticize that in the moment, but all right, let's let's see where you're at in 5 years. Let's see if you really think that because I've had many clients and I myself went through things and it might be cute to say that in the moment, right? Like YOLO.
Reality will come back. Reality will come back and if you're watching this and you know, let them know in the comments.
>> When I got laid off, I stopped paying my credit card debt. I said if you want to get your money, [ __ ] sue me. Well, there's a company suing me right now, but they probably bought the debt in batch. So, I was looking into ways on how I can respond to the summons asking them to verify the debt. And there was two forms that I could fill out. Well, my husband comes home and he says, "Why don't you just have a lawyer do it? We pay for the services." So, I'm like, "Oh, yeah, good idea." I get the call from the lawyer today and he's talking about making a payment plan with these people. I said, "Why would I do that?" Well, I told him my theory is they send out all of these summons just before Christmas because 70% of the time people do not respond to them and their wages end up getting garnished. And the reason I know this is because it's happened to me before and I remember it happening just before Christmas and I forgot about it. And this time, I didn't want to forget about it. So, I explained to him what I wanted to do and he says, "I've been in the business for 22 years and they'll be able to verify. You're just kicking the can down the road." I said, "I don't I don't care." I said, "I would still like to at least try because I'm on unemployment. It's just before the holidays and I know they're banking on me not responding. And I don't have anything for them to garnish and I understand that they can lean my house.
So, I don't want to pay this right now.
I don't have time for it. So, if all we're going to do is kick the can down a little >> You don't have the time or the money because if you're on unemployment, then you got time. But hey, hey, hey, don't come for me. I don't come for me.
>> bit, I would prefer to just do that and if it ends up getting dismissed, even better. And instead of doing it myself, I thought I would get an expert to do it for me. So, this is the route I would like to take. At the end of the conversation, he was like, "Johnny, I don't want you to stress this season. I will take care of this. You don't have to worry about a thing. I will make sure this is taken care of for you." That man is going to get that [ __ ] dismissed.
>> Now, let me ask you guys an honest question. Do you think that they would be better off, and you could say, "Nick, you're crazy. You're being really rude."
Cuz trust me, I'm I like to I like to think I'm a nice person, super respectful, at the very least, right?
And do you think they're would be better off putting that energy into getting a job and taking accountability and responsibility? Because I know there's a way out, and I can confidently say that cuz I've been on both sides of the hill, right? So, like we're all capable. I believe that.
Everyone might Some people might need a little push, but everyone's capable. We all have something up here.
Do you think they would be better off putting that energy elsewhere rather than trying to do all these little tricks and this and scams and this and and get around and beat the system?
I think they would. Put the energy into something that is going to pay them dividends in the future, like getting a better job and things like that, but have you had an experience like this?
Like, what do you guys think? Where should they put the energy? How should they go about this? Like what?
>> So, this is what happens if you don't pay your student loans. So, a couple years ago, I was in college, and I had to get some federal student loans. I got kicked out of ROTC. It's a long story, but I needed the loans to finish my film studies degree. Now, when I got these loans, I was told that it was financial aid. Now, I don't know what you think the definition of aid is, but I had no idea you were supposed to pay them back.
I didn't find out till I got out of school, and I started getting emails about making payments and [ __ ] I thought it was a scam, so I blocked the email and deleted everything. And I was getting phone calls and [ __ ] too. I was really annoying. Anyway, didn't make any payments for like a year, and apparently, there's something called like a default. At least, that's what the federal agent that showed up at my door told me happened to my loan. And I was like, "What are you going to do?
Drag me to federal prison? Come on, be real." He's like, "We're going to garnish your wages. We're going to take your tax return." I was like, "I don't get any of that anyway. I got a film studies degree. There are no wages to garnish." So anyway, I tried filing for bankruptcy and that didn't even work. So I don't know if this is like a skit or not, but the principle still applies.
One, you can't bankrupt yourself out of student loans, so you're better off paying them back. Deferment, forbearance, some sort of income-driven plan. They have all these things that are accessible to you, especially if they are government student loans, contrary to popular belief. There's actually more programs than less programs they could put you on. Like you could be put on for like half a percent of your income. So like if you make 100 grand a year, you could be put on for like very cheap per month.
Just so you're not late. And definitely don't want to default cuz you'll destroy your credit and destroy many other things, probably like your psyche and lots of other things, but point of view, I went to jail for not paying on my furniture from Ashley Furniture.
This might be a first for me.
>> I don't know who need to hear this, but get them folks back they [ __ ] furniture. Because I'm just sitting right here thinking about how I went to jail for a whole felony because I did not pay on a sectional from Ashley Furniture. The sectional was like $1,800. Did not pay on it. Went to jail. Was in jail for 3 days. Called a small crime. Not a noise, like never been in trouble. Never been in jail.
Don't have a record. First time going to jail, a whole felony.
A whole felony, like that's so ghetto.
So for the last 7 years of my life, can't get an apartment in my name. Can't get no good job. Couldn't even drive for Uber. Girl, Uber was like, "No."
So it's just like the system is so and I was wrong. Should have gave them folks back they [ __ ] Should have paid on it, whatever the case may be, but it just seems so wrong.
That [ __ ] seemed illegal to be able to like put a felony on somebody who has never been in trouble.
Non-violent.
Just didn't pay on a sectional.
Like, damn. I I can't y'all make y'all [ __ ] Like I just got my record clean 2 months ago.
And I just want to Y'all be laughing and playing with them folks. I'm telling y'all, I just don't want nobody else to experience what I experienced cuz that [ __ ] was crazy.
>> First comment says, "LOL, Ashley said we are not a rent-to-center." Pretty funny, but they're right. You're buying furniture, pay it back. Or if you don't want to, try to return it, but you have to work out some sort of deal with them.
You can't just not pay it. Like, all right, felony's a little felony's a little crazy. I'll be I didn't know that was a thing, but what do you What did the Like, what do you think? Like, I'm I have sympathy for people, but what do you think's going to happen?
Second comment, "Lord, they could have put you on the credit jail is extreme."
Oh, they could have put it on your credit jail is extreme. Yeah, I agree.
Third comment, "I work for Ashley Furniture and they don't play about nothing." Now we know. Does anyone know of any time this has happened to you or a friend from Ashley Furniture? Because I just learned something new. I I'm never going to buy there because I don't want anything to happen to me. If I try to return something, they don't take it back and something like this happens.
Ashley Furniture, what's going on with you? Quick intermission to say if you are still watching this video, I appreciate the support so much. Please again consider subscribing. You don't have to, but it's completely free and it means a lot to me. So, if you can, I would really appreciate it. And the next few are going to be about people that are just revolting their student loans even though they took them out, which is crazy, but we're going to see those.
Then we'll see some things about the actual system. Not opinion-based, not there-based, not me-based, fact-based stuff on why this is happening and why people are just completely crashing out over their bills and not paying them anymore. And then we'll go over into some best practices and things to just help us all out as a community cuz again, that's the point of this video is to be entertaining, of course, but more importantly, it's to actually teach you and learn from it because I learned from it as well. So, let's get back to the video.
>> Education Department is warning that if we don't pay back our student loans, that our wages are going to start being garnished. I thought y'all were supposed to be somewhere non-existing. When they dismantled the Education Department, they also dismantled my $56,000 in student loans that I owe, okay? I mean, the thing IS, I SHOULDN'T EVEN OWE THOSE LOANS. I SHOULD NOT EVEN owe those loans. For half my college career, I was literally a homeless student. And their solution was, "Here are more predatory loans so you can get a degree and go work in public service." "Oh my god, WHY DO YOU WANT YOUR WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE? YOU SHOULD JUST WENT INTO A TRADE." IT WASN'T OFFERED TO ME.
It was not offered to me. I would have loved to have gone into a trade and been an electrician and not had student loan debt, but I did what I needed to do. A 17-year-old, you gave a 17-year-old $30,000 in student loans. And now I'm supposed to pay it back? The Education Department was dismantled.
So, why are my student loans not dismantled? Talking about garnishing wages. 5 MILLION PEOPLE, Y'ALL OUT Y'ALL MIND.
>> You see, I can understand some situations, but I'm sorry for you that have student loans out there that feel this way. I paid back 70 grand of my own money every penny in my 20s because I took responsibility and I said, "I will bleed before I drag on those student loans." Because for me, it's like debt is like wearing a backpack. I am not a good person to carry debt. I get very anxious and it really bothers me and it really clutters up my mind and that's probably how most people feel, but they probably won't actually admit it, but I can admit it because I've been there and I was able to overcome it. That's why I'm so confident about there's a way out. And this just doesn't go for student loans, but everything. I I believe that physically, mentally, financially, people can make a change and and everyone's capable and I believe that.
So, either way, that's my rant there, but no, I don't agree with her. Pay the money back. You took it out. Yeah, if you wanted to go to a trade, go. You don't have to go to college. Like, you wanted to be like everyone else and so did I and I went and I almost regretted going because all my friends that are and this is going to be crazy to say, but the richest and most successful people I know didn't go to college or they dropped out. Yes, they were super smart and they didn't need certain college classes and of course, obviously, if you're going for medicine, for law and certain specific niche categories, then of course, secondary education is super important, but I went for business. So, and I and I have a seven-figure business and I didn't really use anything I learned in school. In fact, I used things that I learned from the people that I met at school. Something to be said about that, but either way, do you think college is a scam and do you think that people should take accountability or am I being super, super harsh about this?
>> I've decided that I'm never going to pay back my student loans and this is how I'm going to finesse them. I'm currently getting a doctoral degree and um I'll be milking those student loan refund checks throughout the process while, of course, doing the work authentically.
However, upon graduation in about 2 and 1/2 years, I'm going to continue to go to college for the rest of my life. This isn't a new secret. However, I'm going to pay out of pocket two classes a semester, six credits in a degree-seeking program at least two semesters a year. That'll be about $2,000 max including books and then I'll get a lifetime learner's credit of $1,000 on my tax return, so my net payment is only $1,000 and I will continue to get associate's degrees and just, you know, keep learning.
>> Is it just me or do people not know that information is technically free? And like, with the internet and with AI and all these things, like, you could practically learn like, whatever you wanted to learn.
Like What?
>> I will not be paying back my student loans because it is against my religion.
In the Bible, it says that debt should be canceled every 7 years. And I took out my student loans over 7 years ago.
And I think that the fact that our Supreme Court does not want to forgive our student loans, it shows that they actually don't care about Christian values, and we need to get back to being a Christian country.
That's what our founding fathers wanted.
Now, I know they mentioned freedom of religion, but listen, they actually were just all Christians.
Um Anyway, I will not be paying them back because our country's falling away from the Lord enough, and I don't want to be a part of that. When the Lord comes back, I want to make sure that I'm going to heaven.
I'm not going to hell.
So, I'm not going to be paying back my student loans because that's that's sinful.
And I don't want to contribute to the sins of this country.
>> So, I'll stay out of this one. You could let me know what you guys think because here, I'm a Christian. I'm wearing my my bracelet from church right here, and again, I'm not going to comment on this.
Let me know what you guys think.
Religion and politics aside, what do you think about her statement there? And before this next video, I want to hear from you. Some positivity. Forget all this negative junk for a second. Who here has paid off student loans like me and is proud of it or knows someone that has or is even currently doing that and taking responsibility and saying, "I can do this, and I'm going to implement an action plan." And not do all this nonsense. I want to hear from you because I want to personally congratulate you and tell you that I'm actually very proud of you.
>> I'm not paying back no student loans.
They need to learn financial responsibility. Who in the hell lets an 18-year-old borrow $20,000 without their parents anyways? That sound like a y'all problem. And before y'all get on here like, "Oh, they'll garnish your wages and all that." Take it. What I mean, I ain't got no wages. I'm unemployed.
>> I mean, speaking of garnishing wages, do you think and again, I'm all you know my stance. I'm not afraid to tell you my stance is that they should take responsibility. They should pay it back.
I don't care what they think. That's what I think and no one cares what I think because it's all of our opinion, right? And that's the beauty of living in this country.
For one thing is we could all say what we kind of want to, whether it's true or not, whether if people agree or not. But garnishing wages, do you think that's harsh or do you think there should be some sort of other um repercussion for not paying back the loans in an effort to get them to pay back. Like should it be an automatic 3 to 5% taken out of their check so they could get used to paying it and maybe let them know it is possible?
Or should they just be garnishing wages?
Like which one would teach them the right lesson and actually solve the problem is what I'm trying to ask. And speaking of solving the problem, the next few are going to be about why this is actually happening, like the system behind it and then maybe some other perspectives we could all hopefully take some learnings from. Don't pay your debt, you have no debt. Hmm.
>> Just don't pay your loans back. You don't owe anybody anything anyway. You see the money that you've taken out as a loan is yours. You created it. If people understood exactly how money works, you'd understand that you don't owe anybody any money. Like let me ask you this question.
When you take out a loan from the bank, where does that money come from?
You see, we're sold this idea that when you take a loan out from the bank, the bank is somehow giving you something that they already own.
>> This guy might be on to something. Hold on here.
>> And therefore, you have to give it them back.
But the thing is, when you take out a loan, that money didn't exist until you signed that piece of paper and gave the order to the bank to create that money.
You created the money. Your signature created the money. You are the backing for the loan.
And when you understand that, that you don't owe the bank anything because it didn't exist until you created it, why do you have to pay it back? And so, they then threaten you with this idea, "Well, if you don't pay it back, you might get a CCJ and it might go on your credit report, right?"
Okay. And you see, this is this is the problem.
We're we're told that debt is a good thing to have, but not told what debt should be used for. Debt should be used to buy assets because once you've got assets that create money themselves, you then don't care about your credit report because banks will just throw money at you anyway. So, don't pay your debts back. Nothing's going to happen.
And then make money.
>> I'll be honest, in the beginning it was kind of going a little bit like over my head because he was saying so many things, but not saying so many things at once. But, don't listen to this Joe Schmo. Like, yeah, real estate and assets, the paying yourself don't You still need your credit. Like, I know a lot of people that do very well that they still use their credit. They still need it. If and when you need it, it's good to have. Like, why are you going to ruin it just to ruin it?
Right? You'd rather have it to have it, even if you have the money. So, like, I never understood that argument. Like, "Oh, I don't need it." But, even if you don't need it, why would you mess it up?
It just doesn't make any sense. If I don't Right? Like, am I am I missing something?
>> Just hear me out. What if we completely just stop paying bills?
They can't cut everybody lights off.
They can't cut everybody what off? They need us. One band, one sound. Like, I feel like we could do this. And I'm not saying let's do it year-round. That's not what I'm saying. I feel like let's do it during the summer. Because how did my light bill go from $35 to $110 for the summer?
That is BS. Ain't no way in [ __ ] hell electricity is costing y'all that much.
I'm about to go back to rubbing two sticks together and get me a lantern for the house. I don't need that much light to see anyway.
Everything is high right now.
Light bill high, water bill high, car insurance high, my weight high. [ __ ] I am I'm up the hill right now.
And then y'all sit up here wondering why a [ __ ] sitting at McDonald's with an attitude. [ __ ] I'm mad cuz I can't pay the rest of these bills and I'm working 49 hours a week.
[ __ ] get them some grapes.
And for y'all people that say, "They do this every year. Y'all should be used to it." Shut up. We're talking about the kids being home extra during the summer.
So, my light bill high, my water bill high. I got to find something for these kids to do, buy school clothes, and then I mess around and blanket a child's birthday and Christmas. Shut the [ __ ] up.
>> I mean, yeah. I I don't disagree. It's not easy to raise a family, for one. And raise a nice family. And I'm super blessed to have a nice family. And I super blessed to have a good childhood, be close to my parents still, and things like that. I'm grateful for that. But that doesn't mean that you can't put money away. Like, pay yourself and invest first, and like what I do is reverse budget. If you've been watching my videos, you know. I sound like a broken record. Pay yourself first, invest first. The small percentage of your income relative expenses to income, and then live on what's left. The problem is no one actually tracks anything. They just spend whatever, and they they don't actually even know what they spent. [ __ ] they don't even know what they make. Uh like, I'll argue they don't even know what they make per week.
Like, to the They don't They don't know what they make, right? Like and how it compares relatively to their income.
Like, if they actually took a percentage, cuz the figure doesn't matter. The figure is different for you, different for me, and it's probably definitely different for her.
But the percentage is relative, right?
If you spend 50% of your income on groceries, clearly there's a damn issue.
Clearly there's an issue. What do you guys think? Do you have a system that works for you? Like, and did you have a point where you turn the corner and you're like, "Okay, I need to make a change." And then this is what you did before, and this is what you did after?
I'd like to I'd like to learn from you if you have something, please. What if everybody in America just refused to pay taxes? Um well, it would it would go pretty well for like 10 minutes until the government shuts down literally everything.
>> I mean, we would feel empowered for about 20 minutes before everything just goes to [ __ ] Like, yeah, we stop paying taxes. No more public transportation. No more public education. [music] No more jails, which means criminals are going to be on the loose. That means yes, pedophiles are going to be on the loose.
Everybody's going to be on the loose. No more hospitals. You get hurt, you break your arm, fix it cuz guess what? The ambulance >> I'm just happy with all that to have hair on his head. He has a good brain in there because he just saved us. Because I was getting worried to be honest about these videos, but thankfully, he said it and not me.
>> isn't coming to help you. You want to call 911 cuz you're getting robbed in a dark alleyway?
We can't do nothing about And oh, you want to go outside and drive on the government's roads? That's probably not going to be allowed. You're going to have to start walking.
And you already know in America, we are not a walk like America is not designed to be able to walk. My store I thank God I live in a neighborhood where my store is like a 2-minute drive off the neighborhood. I like I leave my neighborhood and the store is across the street. That's how lucky I am. Some people live like 30 minutes away from whatever set grocery store they stop shop at. That's insane. That's insane.
So, yeah, it would be empowering for a little bit before the government reveals how much power it truly has and they start just like Oh, you don't have any electricity? Oh, you don't have any water anymore cuz they can just turn it off.
You don't I mean, they can come take your house if you still owe money on your house.
Like, yeah, yeah. But, we got to keep paying taxes, man. Sorry.
>> Sorry, bro. Good video, but I cut off the YouTube shout-out. But, yeah, if if you do want to check that out, I think that that was a good video. I agree with him. He has some common sense. So, thankfully, I agree with that one.
>> If you use Klarna, you do not have to pay the money back because the owners of Klarna are not in the United States. Why would you pay back someone who lives across the globe? Buy up all the [ __ ] you can right now with Klarna, okay? And what are the sweetest people even going to do about it? They don't live in America. They can't do anything. They live in Sweden.
>> It's scary how those types of videos are actually even allowed on social media.
Like that they don't police that. Like cuz if a young person sees that and they believe it and they go spend, spend, spend. Like I was a gullible young person. Like there are people that believe you don't have to pay back credit cards. Like I I've worked with thousands of people on their credit and finances and I have hundreds of thousands of people that follow me on other platforms. I know that YouTube is a little premature and it's new, but on other platforms I've helped out tens of hundreds of thousands of people and there are people that believe that.
It's not really that funny because the goal is to teach them. So it's cool, but like videos like that, that's not cool romanticizing that stuff. That that could do real damage to people. Probably a good time to give my head a little break. We'll watch the next few without that many commentary and then we'll kind of research back more towards the end.
>> And one thing I know and two for sure, them student loans never getting paid off.
I got a nickel a month. Take it or leave it.
>> Just in case you've ever wondered what happens when you don't pay your medical bills, my doctor for the first time the other day said to me, "You have an outstanding balance." And all I could do was stand there like "Oh my gosh, thank you so much."
Do you get it?
>> Okay, but what actually happens if you don't pay hospital bill?
>> My daughter had to go by ambulance to the emergency room a couple months ago because she had a really scary seizure.
It was a thousand dollars for the ER and then she had to go back to the ER a few days ago because she fell and she wasn't like lifting her arm. She was crying, crying.
>> I hope the baby's okay. That has to be the cutest baby I've ever seen.
>> I cry. I was so nervous she broke her arm. So I took her back. Um she didn't break her arm, by the way. She was fine.
Another thousand dollars and I haven't paid that either yet. I have my own medical expenses coming up because of my back and I might need back surgery. I'm doing physical therapy and everything.
So, I haven't paid those bills yet because they'll give you care even if you haven't paid, but like when I go to the doctor, they're not going to I can't see my orthopedic unless I pay first.
What happens if I don't pay it? I don't care about my credit. I already have a car. There's no mortgage on this house. Has anybody just not paid it? Like is somebody going to show up on my doorstep and like sue me?
Because that's like what I'm nervous about.
I don't know.
>> I know for a fact this guy's got something good to say.
>> If you don't pay your mortgage for 2 months, it will kill your credit.
But after the 2 months, if you pay off the bank, it's like nothing happened. You just move on.
Try to do that with your landlord. He will never forget that.
This alone should be a reason to rather get a mortgage than keep on paying rent.
>> [laughter] >> I did not expect that.
Is he a mortgage guy? A mortgage broker?
Cuz that'd be a great ad. Someone should steal that from run that as an ad.
>> [laughter] >> All jokes aside, I really can't believe what's happening with this country. I know inflation's up. I know wages aren't as up to keep up with everything else, hence the inflation, but there are things you could do to prevent all this craziness and just not forget about your bills because that's the opposite. You should take it accountability, have the awareness. Easier said than done, so use these four simple tips to help you do that. First thing is know your debts and know that they have repercussions. Write them down, track them, order them, and start attacking them. I like to do smallest to biggest because most of it's psychological, just like these crazy people. Psychological wins, the small ones, will turn into the big ones and give you forward momentum. Always, always, always respond to collections, even if you're going to dispute it. I've helped thousands of people again with that type of stuff. Still respond to it.
If you don't, then like people said, default judgment. I'm not an attorney by trade, but I can damn well tell you default judgment is not good because then the other party could basically just do as they please because they didn't hear back from you and they assume you were just going to let anything happen. Next thing is negotiate. You have negotiating power for most of these debts and most of these things, not the student loans, but there are programs you can put them in to help you, but all of the other debts, if you do find yourself in those certain circumstances, then you can negotiate that. Most of the time a collector will take something rather than nothing because that's the business they're actually in. And fourth, I want to hear from you, from the community. Let me know what you would add as a fourth one to best help these people. Let's say you're one of these people or one of these people was your son, parent, or someone that's a close friend and you wanted to help them out, what advice would you give them down below? Either way, I appreciate you so much for watching. I know I you probably can't believe any of this stuff, either. Check out this video right here. YouTube thinks may be best for you and if you haven't already, consider subscribing. It does mean the world to me and most importantly, helps find more beautiful people like you.
Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you next time.
