When healthcare patients or family members are dissatisfied with care, they should use formal grievance channels rather than social media to express concerns, as nurses cannot defend themselves in public forums due to HIPAA privacy laws that prevent sharing patient information online.

#stitch with SASSY SARAH First, I encourage you to go watch her entire videoAdded:
talk. So, that's going to be interesting. Stay tuned.
[ __ ] nurses.
All right, nursing family. We've got a lot to talk about here. Here is a disgruntled family member who had a very bad experience, according to them, at a hospital and particularly with the nursing staff and went full scorched earth, has declared all nurses to be bad, had on her screen "Nurses suck" and closed out her video with "Fuck nurses." And in that video, she also is talking about how she's going to find these nurses on social media and she's going to um post their information online. What information? I'm not sure, but she said she was going to post stuff online about them.
I think the thing here to understand is that oftentimes family members who do not feel they get the appropriate care um can be very frustrated with the staff. And who spends the most time at the bedside? It's the nurses. So, we are going to be the face of the facility in most cases and we're we're going to bear the brunt. We do every day.
The comments in that video are going as you would expect. Uh very common themes such as "You are the reason that I left bedside. You are the reason that we are having a nursing shortage. You are the reason why I'm glad I retired early" or or something to that effect. And there is some truth to that.
I think there is a difference between feeling dissatisfied with the level of care and taking the appropriate actions to file complaints. I think it's another thing to go on social media and threaten to post personal information online about nurses. Regardless of how dissatisfied you are with your service um or how you feel you were treated, there are avenues to pursue that.
And I don't feel like in this case, at least the way she described it is not what she did.
Um she has decided to go to social media to plead her case.
I don't think the comments are going the way that she thought they were going to go. However, I think as nurses, most of us got into this for the right reasons and we care about our patients and the way she is lumping all of us into the same category is unfortunate and unfair.
And it does make me question sometimes how much longer I want to stay at the bedside. It's only a matter of time before maybe I have to deal with something like this that may be unjust.
We are only hearing her side of the story. We don't know what happened and we can't hear the nurse's side of the story because that would be a HIPAA violation. So again, we're only hearing one side. And as a nurse, that is frustrating to me to see this level of of um vitriol coming from the patient side, especially when I don't know what happened. Um but I'm supposed to take her word for it. So anyway, go watch the video. I'd love to hear your comments.
Do not go and send her hate. Do not go and give her the same energy that she It's only going to further her cause and um validate her feelings. I just want people to be aware of this and feel free to comment. Do it on her video. Send your own message.
Y'all take care.
