Caribbean Wide Alert! Hanta-Virus UpdateAdded:
I had to come back with this because it is so important.
You saw that this morning. It was all over the news. Ant virus outbreak spreads to Europe after the vessel and passengers test positive back home. It's a pestilence. Don't get it trick. It's a pestilence. But it's strange enough. How many of you remember what happened during COVID 19?
Do you remember that there was a cruise ship stuck right here in the Caribbean and persons were on it almost a whole month before they could have come off and then somebody decided that they were going to take the cruise ship. I'm not going to call the country's name right now, but you remember what happened, right?
A cruise ship and think about how dangerous these people are. Do not be fooled again.
Deepop has not changed. I want you all to remember that has not changed.
There's a serious crisis. You have a war in Iran where supplies are running low in oil around the world and then you're hearing about a virus outbreak that actually could spread to different continents very soon because already in Europe, South Africa as well. So Africa, Europe, they touched South America where they had their cruise. Listen to me. Do not allow these people to fool you again. And then all of the headlines came this morning. All of the headlines came. It's not in the Caribbean, but all of the headlines came and they are ready and raring to go again. Watch this video and then we'll continue to talk after this. Okay. Number of passengers on board a cruise ship have died and others have become extremely sick with suspected hand virus. Here's what you need to know. The cruise ship, the MV Hondius, is carrying about 150 passengers and was traveling between Argentina and Cape Verie when passengers fell ill. The ship is currently outside the port of Preya, the capital, Cape Verde. To protect the local population, passengers are not allowed to disembark here.
This passenger says he's on board the ship.
>> What's happening right now is very real for all of us here.
We're not just a story. We're not just headlights. We're people. All we want right now is to feel safe, to [clears throat] have clarity, and to get home.
>> How many of you remember that same scenario during COVID 19? You remember that? The stories coming off the cruise ship, the horror stories, people want to get home. You remember that?
>> According to the cruise operator, oceanwide expeditions, the first fatality was on the 11th of April when a Dutch passenger on board the cruise ship died. On the 24th of April, the deceased passenger and his wife would disembark on Saint Helina, an island in the South Atlantic Ocean. But three days later, the 27th of April, the cruise operator was told the wife had also died during her return journey. On the 27th of April, a British national became ill and was evacuated to South Africa for emergency care. Then on the 2nd of May, a German passenger died aboard the ship.
So, let's get this straight. South America, Sentilina, South Africa, then a German passenger died aboard a ship and now it's in Europe.
Watch the play people. Watch the play.
Hivirus is a rodentborn virus and is part of a family of zunotic viruses.
That's diseases that can be passed from animals to humans. If you've got um mice or rats on a cruise ship and particularly if the company isn't really vigilant in rodent control and sanitizing surfaces um and segregating passengers from any droppings um it can be you know very dangerous.
>> So how does the virus infect humans? The virus starts off contained in rodent feces urine or saliva. Infected particles become airborne and these can be breathed in by humans.
Initial symptoms are very similar to flu-l like symptoms including muscle aches, fever, headache and coughs. These can later develop into a serious infection of the lung or the kidneys leading to organ failure.
>> Wait a minute. Lung and kidneys, two very critical things for your body. lung and kidneys and that's where it's attacking. You remember with COVID when they said it was your lung as well, respiratory system and if you can't get air, what happens to you? And now we're talking about lung and kidneys, your filtration system in the body. I tell you these people have not stopped.
They're on to one thing. It's all about the deepop. Don't get it twisted friends. Incubation period, that's the time from infection to when the first symptoms appear, is somewhere between 1 to 8 weeks, but usually around 2 to four weeks. In extremely rare cases, the disease can be spread from human to human. Although there are antivirals that can help to manage symptoms, there is no cure for antivirus.
Viral outbreaks on cruises are not uncommon, but it's rare to have one that is so potentially dangerous. Officials are still working out how and where the passengers became infected and if all of them are sick with hivirus.
>> Wow.
So they still looking for all the passengers. Of course they have a manifest on the cruise ship and they know exactly where the passengers are from. I mean we just keep going over the same thing all the time. Guys, stay vigilant.
Do not allow them to catch you a second time. Do you understand what I'm saying to you? Take it easy.
