[00:00:15]Hi guys and welcome back to another video. Today is super exciting because I am packing all of the orders from the Homebody Club. And if you guys are new to my channel, The Homebody Club is my monthly subscription. May was the first month that I launched and so people were either able to get a mini candle in the novel tier. They could get a full-size candle in the signature tier or if you did both, you would be in the collector tier. The club sold out within the first hour on the first launch and then I opened up 20 more spots to make a total of 40 and it is all sold out right now.

[00:00:49]So, I am so excited to pack all of these orders for me. Thank you guys so much for waiting because for the first month there is going to be a little bit of a lag period because I was promoting the home body club in April. It launched on May 1st, cut off was May 15th and then now today is May 25th and I'm packing orders. So it's been about a month since I've started to kind of launch this program and so far so good. I did print off everyone's shipping labels over the weekend. Today's Monday and I have all of them here because I don't know, I just wanted to get it done ahead of time in case there were any issues with printing off everything. But everything turned out to be okay. And let's just take a moment to appreciate this because I have never had this many orders to ship out on one day. Like that's totally crazy. Also, I got a drink of choice for today because packing orders is serious work. I am drinking the mochi roasted milk tea from Sunti.

[00:01:47]So, I figured in order to prep for packing the orders, I'm just going to stamp all of the boxes with my logo. So, these are the mini boxes. If you are in the novel or signature tier, you'll be getting this. And if you are in the collector tier, which is the two candles, you'll be getting a larger box.

[00:02:03]I am so excited because this is actually the first time that I've been able to ship out this many orders at once. I feel like whenever I get online orders, usually it's like a couple orders a week. I very rarely get an order every single day. I think since starting my business, I've actually never had one week where I've had an order every day.

[00:02:22]So, I am very excited to ship out 40 orders at once. Actually, 39 because one person did pick up their order at Odfest. I'm really hoping that everyone stays subscribed for June as well, but we'll see if people drop the club. I can always open up their spot to the public.

[00:02:38]And because this is the first month that I am doing the home body club anyways, I think it's good that I'm starting on a bit of a smaller scale. That way I can figure out the true logistics and I guess all the behind thes scenes prep because even though it is May and I'm shipping these out, I already have to start thinking ahead for June and July and what I'm going to be releasing for those months. Yeah, that's something to keep in mind when you're running a mail club. You can't necessarily do things as last minute as before because you need to prep ahead so that people know what they are signing up for. But yeah, enough rambling. Let's get to stamping these boxes. This is so crazy. But I was able to count out exactly how many boxes I need to stamp. And you guys, look at this. I don't think Yeah, I've never had a stack this big. Like, this is totally insane. It's funny because like I actually didn't even think I was going to get the full 20 subscribers for the first month. So, I think I actually only ordered 50 of these small boxes and they're basically almost all gone as you can tell. So, I'm going to have to place another order. But, this is so exciting for me. Just like a little pinch me moment and a huge milestone for my business. I'm a little worried to wear white because last time I wore this sweater, I got ink on it as well. But we're going to try our best to not get it full of ink. So, you guys know the drill. I always use the circle logo stamp from Vista Print. It's like a nice inexpensive way to add some kind of branding rather than just a plain box.

[00:04:43]Today the weather is pretty nice in Calgary. It's about 25 Celsius, but for the rest of the week it's supposed to be raining. So I wanted to pack all the orders, get it shipped out today. That way hopefully they can make it through the system a little bit early. Okay, so I also did a little bit of prep work over the weekend. Most of my candles, to be honest, are relatively small. So previously I was using a large box, but I just had to wrap the candles so much in like packing paper and stuff. So, for the Home Body Club specifically, I did get smaller boxes and then I just added my company logo on the side with a stamp. That way, I can pack all of these individually in here. The thing is, if you were in the collector tier with both of the candles, I will give you a larger box. Let's start off with writing everyone's name on their name card. With everyone's order, I like to do a little personalization. So, this is the first one for Emico. And these are the new Homebody Club cards that fit in my new boxes because if you know, you know. But yeah, the front is like a thank you and then the back is just like a little blurb about myself. And then if you guys wanted to purchase something else on my website later on and you have an account and there's a little code on here for 10% off your next order as well. This is so crazy. I've never had a stack this thick either of note cards to send out on one day. Like you guys, this is totally insane.

I do have a little list of who are in the collector tier, but I did not make a list of who was in novel and signature. So I have to look at my Shopify like subscription list and see what everyone subscribed to. I wish there was a way to filter what people were subscribed to or filter by price or something, but I don't think there is an option.

[00:08:00]Okay, I'm going to start off with my list of people who are in the collector tier just because I know what they got.

[00:08:16]One thing that I really like about the Home Body Club is that everyone orders the same scent. Before I was like picking stuff off my shelves, which I do enjoy as well, but this just makes everything actually come so much faster.

[00:08:57]But I put everyone's orders on here and oh my gosh, you guys, this looks so pretty. I really like the orange and the green and the pink. This is totally insane. Imagine if you were like a multi-million dollar company and this is your like dayto-day or even like your hour. Like that's so crazy. One of my biggest goals this year was to finally launch the homebody club because this is something that I've been wanting to do for months now. I'm so happy that I can finally send members a new candle to their doorstep each and every month. And this has also created another income stream for my business. With the economy being so up and down these days, honestly, it's really nice to have some income predictability and also stability. On the downside, as you guys can tell from this video, the logistics and packing up everyone's orders one by one does take quite a lot of time out of my day. I've been searching for ways to grow my business that's just beyond myself because, as you guys know, I run from Kayla all by myself, from making inventory, selling it, going to conventions, etc. And one of the next steps is to potentially expand into new product types. One thing that I've noticed from doing markets and conventions in person is that a lot of people have actually asked me if I ever sell my candle labels as like an art print or sticker design. [00:12:42]I have all the boxes prepped in front of me. I think I'm going to start with packing the largest orders first just because these boxes take up more space and I need the table space. But as you guys know, for the first 40 founding members, I wanted to give back to you guys. So, with every subscription, I will be giving you guys a free air freshener as long as it's active. And every month is going to be a different air freshener. It's kind of just depending what I feel like to be honest.

[00:13:05]And I thought because it's the inaugural month of my home body club, it would make the most sense to give you guys the From Kayla tin air freshener cuz I feel like this is just like a nice little collectible and it definitely represents my brand for sure. But I just have some on these trays here. And then I'm going to just start packing orders in no particular order to be honest. It's just kind of all whatever is on the table. I don't know the best angles or anything to film this video because my room is just so full right now. But we're going to start off with the collector tiers just because, as I said, they take up the most space. So the first one is going to Joe in this bag. This is where I keep extra bubble wrap for candles that I ship out. And then before I ship out everything, I always just like triple check it. So guys, they're so cute. I know I've been showing these candles so much, but genuinely, I think that this is going to be a bestselling candle.

[00:14:11]It kind of reminds me of the peach soju candle where it's nice and fruity, but also light. And so I think this is going to appeal to a lot of people when it does launch to the public in August.

[00:14:23]It's going to be the air freshener and then the matching sticker. The stickers, I believe, are also waterproof, but I have it on my water bottle and so far it's been fine. Oh my gosh. Okay, first inaugural order.

[00:14:51]It's just whatever I'm grabbing. The next one is for Izzy. So, I did post a little carousel on my Instagram about kind of like the fun stats behind the scenes because I don't know, as like a person who follows other people, I really like to see the stats of like launches and stuff like that. And it's kind of funny because most of the candle subscriptions are going to California and secondly it's going to here right in Alberta and that actually makes me really happy that there's a lot of local interest. Yeah, I think when I looked at the numbers the first tier is for sure the signature tier which is the fulls size candle and then secondly is the novel tier which is the 4 oz candle. And then lastly, the least amount of signups, which is not surprising, is the collector tier because that tier is more expensive. So, I kind of knew, it's actually funny how predictable it was in that sense because I knew that the signature tier would be the most popular just because generally when I sell at pop-up markets. Also, pop-up markets, side note, are a really great way to kind of find out who your target audience is and what sells and what doesn't sell. But yeah, based on experience, the full-size candles always sell the most and mini candles are usually second. So that makes total sense to me. And that's what exactly happened during this launch.

[00:19:35]I just finished packing up everyone's orders. As you can see, my table is full. I also have a bunch on the floor behind me. All that's left to do is just put the packing tape to seal it up and then I can head to the post office.

[00:19:48]Honestly, this took way longer than I thought. It's already 100 p.m. and I feel like I started an hour and a half, 2 hours ago. It's my first time wrapping up candles in tissue. Normally, I would just leave them in bubble wrap and that was all. So, if your order comes like a little bit scuffed, sorry about that because I needed to practice. If your order was packed towards the end, I can assure you that the tissue was a lot more smooth and not as bumpy.
