[00:00:00]A deadly virus outbreak on a ship. To recap, incredibly deadly virus that is 99.9% of the time animal to human. Looks like it's now going human to human. Now, a bunch of people got infected. Oh [ __ ] one of them got on a plane and potentially infected passengers. The suspected antivirus patients have been evacuated from an infected rat virus, an infected rat virus cruise ship in Camp Verde in Africa. Three passengers have already died. What the [ __ ] The Swiss government confirms the MV Hondias passenger who returned to Switzerland was infected with antivirus.

[00:00:32]>> Antivirus infections have risen again from seven people who were on board the MV Hondas to at least two new people for a total of at least nine. And one of those two new cases was not a passenger on that ship. And this is concerning because it means that virus has spread from person to person. Now this case involves a French national. He traveled on this plane from the island of St. Helena to Johannesburg, South Africa. It was the same plane as one of the first passengers who got sick on the ship.

[00:01:00]That was a 69year-old Dutch woman who collapsed just hours after she landed in Johannesburg. Her 70-year-old husband had already died on the ship and what the He's telling this story. This is the kind of thing that you expect to hear whenever it's like, you know, Shackleton's adventures to the North Pole. What the [ __ ] This is crazy.

[00:01:20]>> Was the first victim in this hentus. Now making this more concerning, there were about 85 passengers and crew on that same flight. And then there is the second new confirmed case, a Swiss national and also a man and he is linked to the ship and was another passenger.

[00:01:42]>> Now in Zurich he felt sick. He was tested for antivirus and was confirmed to have the Andes strain. This is the one you can jump from human to human.

[00:01:50]He's now hospitalized and in isolation in Zurich. His wife isn't showing any symptoms and she is selfisolating. But whatever a flight or flights this man and his wife took to get home will be in focus for more contact tracing which could involve hundreds more people in planes and on the ground.

[00:02:05]>> Well, and here's the thing. It has like a 30 to 50% mortality, right? Case fatality. 35 to 40%. I normally wouldn't make a video like this, but I feel like I need to say something. So, I wrote a few things down. And what's happening right now is very real for all of us here. We're not just a story. We're not just headlines. We're people. People with families. There's a lot of uncertainty. All we want right now is to feel safe, to have clarity, and to get home.
