Hydrazine Blow-Out!

[00:00:00]So, I was trying to make some hydrazine the other day. I started with super concentrated sodium hydroxide solution, [music] a 22 molar solution to be exact. I pumped it chock-full of chlorine gas [music] from five trichlor tablets.

[00:00:15]Then I prepped an 8.5 molar solution of urea. For my gelatin sheet later, I added 5 g in some warm water.

[00:00:23]I put it in the freezer for no more than 5 minutes. When it comes time to add it to the chilled bleach, of course it had seized. I stir it in as best as I can.

[00:00:32]Just as I add the freezing urea solution, the whole thing froths into a scary mess.

[00:00:38]A week of work literally vaporized.
