Ryakim’s journey through this 1,200-page epic is a refreshing reminder that true intellectual satisfaction requires the patient endurance modern media often lacks. It is a rare and genuine celebration of the transformative power found in long-form classical literature.

i finally read the greatest revenge novel of all timeAjouté :
Chapter 54. A flood in stocks. Some days after consider even most of the proposed end my father and serve together in my father and said I confess that I made this rich on the lips of popular looked at Ventine in expression so full of grief that she arrested the departure of the notary sir said she the language which I My grandfather lady, I like to teach you in a few minutes.
Hello. It's 8:00 a.m. and I just finished 100 pages of Takammonic story on page 700. And this 100 pages is kind of more on the passive story because we just see and connections between characters. But what really shocked me is at the end we now see that Kadirus probably escaped reason because he met up with or he goes to Andrea and he demands or threatens Andrea gives some money to him for the new characters.
Andrea um is the major lost child but the count knows that he's not the real Andrea Kabalcanti. He is actually Benedetto which was Vil for a illegitimate child that was raised by Vouch. It is kind of confusing as of now because there's just a lot of character entanglements and connections loses the immersion because I think it's just too much connection because suddenly Kadus also knows Andrea and there was even a subplot about Valentine and her grandpa which is not which is for's father because apparently he's very rich. She has 100,000 Franks and he plans to disinherit Valentine's engagement to France continues and after that the count goes to Brad a telegrapher to plant false narrative which made Dang Lars all his talks but then it was confirmed that it was just a fall alert who is like a million Franks after that and then the other day arrived which was the count's I guess housewarming party and in that party Bush sees Vilo so he just realized that he did not kill Vo I think he tells the count that Madame Nongl is the girl who was with Vilo before and the count announces in his garden that here in this garden I saw an infant bird alive of course he doesn't reveal know the whole details. He just says that there was an infant here and after that party that's when Andrea was approached by Kadoo and blackmailing him. So that's what happened and what I've read so far. I have just finished another 100 pages and my brain hurts so much but it's getting so good because there's a lot of again twists and turns.
Um I I can't remember when was the last time last update. Okay, so my last update was about Kaderus and mostly the following the following 100 pages that I read, it's mostly about the marriage and Bellford's attempt to know about the count because he's getting anxious because he feels like the count knows their affair with I mean his affair with Madame Danglar before he investigates and he finds out that the child is alive but his trail got cold after the child was taken away from the hospital or the orphanage I guess. Actually meets with Abbe and Lord Wilmore which we all know it's literally the same person. They're just impersonating. So Wilford was I guess fooled because he stops investigating about the count. He gets thrown off his trail by Abbeby and Lord Wilmore. But then then Albert invites the count to the ball in his house and Mercedes and the count had an interaction there. And Loki, I think Mercedes already knows that the count is not really who he is, but there's just like a tension between them. While they were talking, Albert then comes in and then announces that Valentine's grandfather actually died of stroke. Not long after her grandmother died, and the doctor suspects that it is due to poisoning. We then see Maximillian and Valentine's I guess plan of elopement but in because of the grandmother dying so they had to put it off and we talk to Nak which is Valentine's grandfather on side n just assures the couple which is see Valentine and Maximillian that he will do something to stop the marriage he doesn't want Maximillian Morel to do anything like a duel or um elopment and when France arrives and when France arrived in Paris we then see Lier's plan was actually making France be aware ware of his murder to his murder to France's father because apparently they're connected pala because spa father France which made no I guess him so obviously the marriage will not take place anymore Francis Furus and I don't know what happened after because obviously he's just very angry this is literally like the summary of the chapter so Lier killed France's father and then Billfort is angry obviously because he wanted the marriage to take place again as in he's doing everything he can to marry friends and Valentine ASOP. Even the day itself, he doesn't even need the preparations and everything. He just wanted them to marry. But Naktier comes with a clutch and that clutch shocked me because I didn't even expect that it's related to the murder before. Like I think I referenced to the previous chapters that he was on the run or he was being tracked by the police because they suspected that he has something to do with the murder of this person. And turns out they really killed France's father. I'm going to stop at this page cuz I'm going to edit uh today's vlog.
And hopefully I can do it quickly because I need to get back into reading.
I'm downloading the current version.
We're going to continue reading. Let's go.
We're finally on page 900.
I believe my last update was about Noctier making France read his statement about him killing his father. I mean France's father. Then after that, we just kind of see the slow descent of Danglars to poverty because he's slowly losing money over um bad financial decisions, I guess. But Andrea and Eugenie, which is Tonglar's daughter, were kind of bonding. And then Albert sees everything and Albert then goes to the count and wants to speak to Heidi which is the count's slave which is the daughter of Ali which was under Fernand that is his father. This is like they're all connected. Albert was informed of Heidi's past and I think that's the count's plan which is to make him realize that his father is not as good as he thought. He hears a story of Heidi's tragedy that she suffered because of him. I mean because of Albert's father. Um then we are taken back to the villa fors and the letter from calling off the engagement hurt or struck to vortfort's ego. Noctier then makes another wheel which benefits Valentine and the Monte Crisisto pays a visit to MaxF and then Maxf goes to Danglar for Eugenie's um hand but Danglar says he wants to reflect. So there was a kind of tension between Dunlar and Maxv which is Fernand because of postponing the engagement. And then the next morning there was a published article about or par blind item about Cornell Fernand which he doesn't use that name anymore but Albert goes to the count because he says that he wants to fight Buchomp which is the editor or the publisher I guess of the newspaper because of the article. Count then tells Albert some advice that he should meet first Vomp alone and not go into duelad.
Albert then goes to Buch to request to retract the article but Buch says that it's worth looking into. So he just needs 3 weeks. If he confirms that the article was true then he's going to accept um Albert Albert's duel. that if he confirms that it is false, he will just apologize and retract the article because in the first place he wasn't really the one who put out that article or that blind item about Albert's father. So he doesn't know anything about that but his I guess loyalty to the truth or the journalism I guess but at the same time he also wants to respect his friend. So he just he was just asking for 3 weeks to confirm the facts and after that Maxis and Valentine's talk to Noctier and Noctier just says that he has these conditions before they can get married and while they're talking Bise Baruis Bowise drinks the lemonade intended for Noctier but suddenly collapses and coincidentally the doctor the family doctor was there and he tried to help uh Bouise and the end he couldn't help Baloise because Bowise died. He also investigated the lemonade that was taken by Bahuiz and after a mini experiment on the chemicals. He then concludes that it has a poison. The doctor actually accuses Valentine of poisoning because he thinks that Valentine benefits the most from this poisoning of the family.
In the same night, the doctor the servants left the house due to fear because they think that death is in this house. While all of these are happening, Biffart actually watches Valentine's reactions or genuine like body language, I guess. But he spots his wife forming a slight smile at the end of the chapter.
And now maybe he's kind of he's going to be aware that his wife is suspicious.
Maybe he can connect to that. I don't know cuz I think Will Guard is so smart when it comes to his own wrongdoings, but I don't know if if he's just oblivious to his wife or or his wife's um plans after the chaos in the Viffort's household. We're now taken back to Kadirus because Andrea receive finally receives the monthly installment and Kadus Kadoo refuses to accept the 200 Franks and Kadirus tells Andrea he knows Bakf and thears and I don't know for some reason Andrea suddenly thinks that the count of Monte Cristo is his father because he thinks that there's no way the count is just giving me this amount of money without any reason. So Kadilus then just plans to rob the count of Monte Cristo because Andrea also provides him the floor plan of his estate. But this is why I love this book because for some reason the count receives a warning from his servant that there was a letter warning about that his house was going to get robbed. So he rushes to his house and he actually puts on the Abbe disguise and then there was a confrontation between Kadakus and the count or Abbe for this matter. This is so funny to me because Kadirus attempts to stab the count but not pierce. Um it doesn't get through the kn the knife doesn't get through I think because of his disguise because he's he's wearing a lot of layers. So the knife didn't pierce through the count's body. After that, the count forces Kadirus to make a letter or a declaration, I guess, that stating Andrea is not Andrea, the real Andrea, but he's Benedetto and he's a felon who escaped with him. Oh, yeah.
Apparently, Kadus escaped because of Lord Wilmore, which we all know is also the count. So, I don't really know what's what was the purpose what was the purpose of um letting Kadus escape. I actually really don't know if I don't know what's the bigger plot or the bigger picture because he could have just made Kadigus suffer in prison for life, but I don't know. After the declaration, Kadigus gets stabbed by an assassin. I don't really know who this is, but this is lowkey funny because he was trying to like shout at Abbe or inside the count's um house trying to get help. I don't know. I'm not really sure if they will actually help him because at the end of the chapter, he just sees like Ali and his master were on the spot with lights. So, let's see if he will get saved or what not. That was a really long clip, but I tried my best to speak clearly. We only have 300 pages left in this book, so pray for me because I need those prayers.
This is such a powerful statement.
I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it.
Oh my gosh.
Oh my god.
She knows. She knows.
This is so good.
This is so good.
Fernand do. You mean since we are recalling names let us remember them all crawling back to you. Yes, please reveal reveal to Max everything please.
Don't touch me.
We are done with our 100 page again and we're officially in page one house. an um I don't know where to start cuz there was a lot of things that happened obviously because I think we're literally like gearing up for the climax I believe since one by one Dante's um enemies are falling. Um okay, I think I'm going to I think my last update was around the 100th page. The count or Abbe actually saves Kadirus from his attack and Kadirus tells the count or Abbe that the one who stabbed him is Ben Benedto.
Count then makes Kadilus sign a declaration again stating that Benedtoy was the one who killed him or who stopped him. And surprisingly, the count actually reveals himself as Dantis to Kadus. And this is the first time that we now see him as I guess unveiling his mask or revealing his true self to the people that actually knows him. And one of like my favorite parts here was when he counted after Kadivus died. So that was pretty satisfying. I guess the authority the authorities was looking forwardto but their trailer gets called because of the news involving the marriage of Dangla and Andrea and after that also there was a scandal which was about Fernand cuz Blue Champ returns to Paris from Yanina and confirms to Albert that Fernand did surrender the castle or treason I guess. Albert actually burns the paper, the proof that uh his father committed a treason. But then, but then when Albert accepted the count's invite to his rest home, a servant then tells him a news that Fangand was then exposed to the newspaper or the paper about his treason as in his whole name was there.
So there was no blind item or there was no there was no way denying it that it was his father. There was a meeting or a trial of Rangnan and Haiti was the only witness against Pangan, Ali's father and he was she was there when everything happened. So the members all vote for him as guilty. Albert was actually furious because he learns that Danglar inquired about Fnan's treason days before the article was published. But then surprisingly Danglar actually confesses to Albert that it was the count of Monte Cristo who kind of pushed him to do that. So Albert confronts the count of Monte Cristo and then he kind of like sees the count of Monte Cristo as cunning and he thinks that he was just playing he all of these was planned by the count which was the downfall of his father. The count was just trying to befriend him because of his ulterior motives. So he gets angry and then he challenges the count to a duel. The count was very confident that he's going to defeat Albert. But Maxesh Maxes goes to the count and then she reveals that she knows that the count is Edwand Dantes and she was kind of um pleading or she was begging for her son's life because maybe she knows that Edwin Dantes will kill her son because Edmod is obviously a very skilled man when it comes to pistols or duals because he was in a pirate ship. Through this talk, Dantis finally reveals to Maxis why he was imprisoned and who was behind his imprisonment. Max said actually succeeds to convince the count to not kill her son. But the count just resorts to him being killed by Albert because he says that aside from you, Mstead, the only thing that I love in my life is myself, which is my dignity, my honor. So, he doesn't want to back down. He doesn't want to tarnish his name because he feels like all of this revenge will be nothing if he just gets dishonored. I guess the day of the duel, Albert actually announces that he will apologize to the count because the count was justified s revenge now against his wife because Moxedes tells Albert about their past. Albert just takes it like a man and apologizes to the count. So leaving the Mox or Maxedes and Albert is honored because Fnan was acquainted with treason and then Albert backs down from a duel. So they're kind of I guess poor again. But the count actually sends a letter to Albert stating that he will give some money to Maxes that was buried in his father's home. And he tells them in the letter that Maxed should know where to find it. When Albert and Maxes actually left their home, Fernand was there to see everything. So he felt like I guess his world crumbling down and he felt betrayed by his wife and his son because Albert didn't proceed with the duel. He felt like Albert didn't make an effort to honor his father's name. So he went to the count and then they got into a confrontation. The count of Monte Cristo drops a lot of fints to Fnan to to be able to identify him. So Fanan finally realizes that the count of Monte Cristo is Edmund Dantes and he rushes home and then he sees his wife and his son didn't even look back. I guess in the end he just resolved to commit suicide which was very sad and very I guess unsatisfying ending for Fernand. I expected more but it was pretty sad but still I expected more. So I guess two down. Then we are jumped back to the villax because Valentine was very sickly. So, I suspect it was poison. And turns out, yeah, I think she was being poisoned and I was pleading like, "Please, I don't want Valentine to die because Maxmillian and Valentine are so cute." So, I was working for them. And Maximillian obviously goes to the count because I think he just trusts the count so much. At first, the count thinks that he doesn't want to help Vilif because of obviously he's doing that for his revenge. But when he learns that Maximleian is in love with Valentine, he kind of has a change in plans. And of course, he really has a soft spot for the Morels. And I'm really I was really sad about Nocttier, which is um Viffort's father. uh Valentine's grandfather cuz he really loves his granddaughter. He even like made an effort to I guess an attempt to neutralize the poison inside Valentine all throughout the days. I guess leading up to this attack. The reason why Maximillian was near the vort's home.
It's because Avid the priest actually purchased the home beside the vort which was being tended by Maximleon. So they probably met through the garden. I mean Valentine and Maximillian. And the last chapter I read it's about Eugenie. And then there was kind of like a weird transactional financial transaction between Danglar's which is her parents and then Eugenie that she states that if she was to marry Andrea she might have to also benefit from it because Danglar insists on marrying Eugene off to Andrea so he can have his money or he would not be ruined anymore because of his debts and loss of fortune. So that's the last chapter that I read.
I told you guys since we're on page 1000 I think we're only left with 180 pages.
So hopefully I can finish it today.
I'm on page 152 and I'm stopping cuz I'm getting emotional. Um the last update that I I think I showed you guys was about Eugenie having her own plans.
After that, we're going to Andrea and Eugenie's wedding ceremony, which while they were having the ceremony, it was Andrea's turn to sign the contract or the wedding contract. The account reveals the cloak or the cloth or the um they call this the clothing and a letter to Danglar and it was revealed when the police came that Andrea is the murderer of Kados and is posing as Andrea and he's a convict. So he's on a run after that cuz Andrea fled the scene. I guess he had like a little escape from the police. After that we are taken back to Eugenie and Louise because they run off to I don't know if it's Belgium or Brussels or if it's the same place. And at the end of the chapter it says that Mr. Young L had lost his daughter, but not literally, but because she flew from their house. We were taken back to Andrea's perspective or PB. He went to different places just to run from the police and he stayed at this inn, which is so funny to me because Eugenie and Louis was actually in the same inn. And they kind of um they talked to each other and Eugenie and Louis was screaming to the police that he's here, he's here, blah blah murder, blah blah blah. But when they decided to let go of Andrea, the police then arrests Andrea.
So, he's now locked up. And then after that we are taken to Madame Dangalak's perspective tried to see Dur De but he's I think he was in the club so she wasn't able to wait for him any longer and then she tried to see her daughter Eugenie cuz all this time she wasn't really aware Eugenei already she was already on the run. So Madame Danglar because she doesn't have anything to do she goes to be to confront confront him about arresting Andrea and they had a little talk because he was I mean they were both former lovers before and they they're still not aware that the same man that they were talking about is actually their son. I don't know. I don't really like Biff in this chapter, chapter 11, because he's kind of um being condescending coming from a criminal himself. After the talk with Biliffort, we are taken back to the Vilif's um residence which was back to Valentine because the count visits Valentine and he wants to help um for Maximillian. And he also tells Valentine that it's actually poison and she's just not ill naturally. And then Count then tells Valentine to trust him to be careful for the next attack which is this midnight. So I think he just warns Valentine to pretend to sleep. So she will see who is the I guess the murder of her grandparents. And then when she was pretend to sleep, she sees Madame did the fault. Surprise, surprise. And Madame puts narcotics to her drink, which is uh I think a bigger dosage of the poison. And the count after that reveals again to Valentine and then he's he kind of says like I'm right. The count also gives Valentine the probable reason why Madame Billock is doing all of this and it's all because of Edward which is her son.
And the count helps Valentine. He actually made her drink something. And then the next day, everyone announces that Valentine is dead. And I'm stopping at 1,51 page because Max 3 million heard Valentine was dead. And I'm kind of sad because his reaction was so heartbreaking. And I can only imagine hearing that after just they're saying that you only did four Valentine. So imagine hearing that the first thing in the morning. Although hopefully the one that the count made uh Valentine take is just like a temporary I guess death because I watch in Apothecary Diaries there was like a medicine that can make you dead for a short time but then it will kind of revive revive you after. So hopefully it's just that cuz I'm going to be really sad if Valentine is actually dead and we'll see. We'll see in the next few chapters because we're we're now in Maximleian's chapter and hopefully he will not be heartbroken because I believe in the count.
Oh.
A morel carried Noctier upstairs so Noctier can see Valentine. That's so That's so sad.
This could only been accomplished by means of a natural strength supplied by powerful excitement. Some kind of I I guess adrenaline rush through morel made him carry Noct to Valentine's room.
That's so sad.
A he called Noct his father.
Oh no.
Tell them, tell them I am her bethrob.
Tell them she was my beloved, my noble girl, my only blessing in the world.
Tell them or tell them that corpse belongs to me.
so much.
Valentine, did she really die? I don't think so. Hopefully, she doesn't really die. I'm going to be so sad.
I'm so sad.
A okay next no Valent page, 1999. So, it's like technically I finished the technically finished 800 pages again or on page 199 and I believe my last update to you was on page 153 which me crying about Maximillian's reaction on Valentine's death um he demands justice to Wilfort and called for Abbe which is the priest um which is the count and then after that there was Donglar's little speech on his misfortune about his finances and Donglar gets his passport in attempt to flee because of his bankruptcy then one of my favorite chapters after is chapter 106 which is a cemetery of Pereella Pereella Chase which was a very heartbreaking read for me which was a very heartbreaking read for me because of Maxmillian. Uh he's such a year but it was very heartbreaking to see him like this. He's so he almost is like a walking corpse at this point. He also cries at um the stone or the graveyard of Valentine I guess. K then follows Maximleian to his home and his fears and his anxieties came to fruition because Maximleon almost kills himself. He was actually making a suicide note now. But then the count clutches it again and then he sees Maximillian attempting to kill himself. So he was put into I guess a desperate position. He was in basically the count was cornered to reveal himself as Edmund Dentes which is the benefactor of Maximillian's father Morel and their family cuz he helped them during their tragedy. And Max immediately calls Julian Emanuel and to tell them that the count is their benefactor and the one that saved their lives. But Simeon almost says the count's real name. We just see Edmund Dantes, but the count manages to stop him. Request lang not to be named. I mean, not to reveal his real name. And then after that, he just pleads to Maximillian to wait until 1 month because Maxim is just resolved to die.
In this chapter, the count just encourages Maximillian to hope to hope to hope to hope and to trust him. And then after that, the leaves and has a letter to his wife stating my most faithful wife. Which was so funny. Also in also in this letter, he also blames his wife for the ruin of their house.
And he then reveals to his wife that he was aware all this time of their affair and their Kubala coupet and his money and and the Bray actually cuts off ties with Madame Danglar after this because he just gets his money and he says that Madame Danglair is ruined in terms of the honor. So they're taken to Albert and Maxed's point of view and we are getting a glimpse of their poverty or their lives after because Albert was actually forced to enlist in Spahis Spahis. So, so they'll have money and not on his own wish though thou, but reason and necessity. It's out of necessity. The Bray bumps into Albert and De Bray doesn't have Albert even though he has a million in his pocket or in in his name. At the end of this chapter, the count actually kind of spies on not really spies, but he's looking into Maxis and Albert and he thinks that what could he do to bring happiness to the people that he ultimately ruined. I guess red is named the lion then. And it's just an I mean Andrea in it's just Andrea in the prison. And Bakusho visits him and tells him he has knowledge of his through true father because all this time Bakusho I mean because all this time Andre has still insists that the account of Monte Christo is his real father but Bushu says that I have the I possess the truth I will tell you next time I visit about your father. So to be honest I don't really know the point of this chapter chapter 18 because in the end doesn't really tell anything about Andrea's father. I don't know if he just wants to plant a seed on Andrea's mind and he just wants to make Andrea hope I guess but I still don't know what's plans are.
So, that's everything. We are nearing the end. I'm so excited. I'm just I I'm really hooked on the story. I'm just super excited to see the end on how it all wraps up. And yeah, I don't want to prolong it anymore. So, we're going to start again, bro. Chapter 110. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. It's so good. It's so good. All the revelations are so good. Oh my god.
We're on the last chapter and he finally reveals himself to Dangalar.
I just finished reading in the last page.
I want to cry. It's so good.
This is actually so good. I freaking love the last sentence.
Oh, I'm speechless. But this is this has got to be one of the best, if not the best novel ever written that I've read so far.
Oh my gosh, this is so good. Okay. Um, I'm not I'm probably not going to go into details like ending because ending was really just like a cherry on the top and I don't want to ruin the probably like the actual ending. Um, if you're not ifasa or if you haven't read the book, I was spoiling the book all throughout the video, but ending. I'm going to reserve that for you. However, I'm going to share my thoughts, my first impressions after finishing this book.
Obviously, it made me cry. Um, the reason why I'm telling that this has got to be like the best novel that I've read is because it fits right up my alley.
Uh, which means that I genuinely enjoyed it. How satisfying but bittersweet it is, especially towards the ending. I also love how it still left some questions or some future um subplots I guess on what happened to these characters um what has become of this that. So it leaves you feeling my whole heart after reading this and after finishing this amount of pages and experience put down cuz normally I would just of course normal pages like 300 to 200 pages. You obviously cannot put those down because it is a pretty short book. So you can kind of binge read it in one sitting.
But if you're binging or if you're reading this this kind of book, there has to be a slump in the middle of the book. One of my criterias now that I've been reading a lot of books is the enjoyment or or how much I am willing to reread it again on how much I enjoyed reading the book versus on how profound it is or how I guess academically smart it is. And in the count of Monty, I just enjoy this book overall. It's one of the books that I will recommend to everyone because it is a pretty I mean in my opinion it is a pretty easy read. This is probably not a book for everyone because it is a massive book. But when it comes to the storytelling and the plot itself, it's I think it's for everyone. I think you will enjoy it.
Probably wouldn't recommend the same route that I that I always do when it comes to large books because works the best for me sometimes. I do have hyperfixation sometimes. So, it really depends on you, but I this is kind of like my way of savoring it. And if some other people can binge watch shows, I can also binge watch reading. It doesn't really make a difference. So because I got a lot of like hate from the brother that I did before. I'm just saying that the format that I'm using like binge binge reading in one day it's not for everyone. So it really depends. This one's my most unforgettable books. If not talaga this is how good the novel is even though it's 100. I mean even though it's 1,00 almost 1,200 pages. There was just like a time where I got really bored but after that but the rest of the book it's good. Like it's probably just like 5% of the book that is in my opinion an unnecessary pages cuz compared to other classics yes it is good. It's profound appreciate and I I do appreciate the writing or how deeply philosophical it is. But when it comes to the enjoyment, perfect. This has to be my longest book that I've read so far. And I'm pretty happy that I've finished it today. And it's already 9:02 p.m. So, I've been reading 4 since I started reading 6:00 a.m. It's probably around 15 hours, but I'm going I'm going to say 13 hours. I did eat and then of course I showered.
So, I think 13 hourish today. Uh, I probably going to do a proper review next time because this video is going to be too long. So, I hope you guys had a fun reading this with me and just stay tuned for my proper book review on the count of Monty Crystal. I'm already placing this at number one read this year. So, let's see if it will be dethrone. But so far, I think it will not be I'm very confident that this will be my number one read this year. So, I am going to take a my well-deserved rest and I don't know just if you're looking for a sign to read the count of Monty, I think this is the sign because you are missing out badly. Thank you guys so so much for watching and I'll see you guys on tomorrow's vlog.
