[00:01:32]Sentence structure means the correct way of arranging the words to make a meaningful sentence. Guys, if the words are not correct or if the words are not in the correct order, the sentence may not make proper sense, right? It will not make any sense. So every sentence has different parts and each part has its own role. When all the parts are arranged correctly, then only the sentence will become clear and meaningful. If you arrange your words in incorrect way, then that particular sentence will not make any sense. So, this is about sentence structure. Let us try to understand with the one example.

[00:02:11]See here, the boy plays football. Guys, here the boy is subject, plays is verb, football is object. So, these three parts together they make a complete sentence, right? So, this is the best example. Now, let us try to understand about parts of a sentence. First, we have subject. Guys, the subject is the person, animal, place, or thing that does the action or about whom we are talking. Okay, this person that person will be doing the work.

[00:02:42]Okay, basically it can be a person, animal, place, or some other thing.

[00:02:46]Okay? The example is the girl is singing. Here, the girl is the subject because she is doing the action. Okay, the doer of the action is known as subject. Verb shows an action or a state. Guys, it tells us what the subject is doing. The girl sings beautifully. Guys, sings is the verb because it shows the action. Without a verb, a sentence is incomplete. Subject is the person who does the work. Verb is what work is being done or what actual work is being done. Okay? Object receive the action of the verb. Guys, like she reads a book. Here, book is the object because it receives the action of the reading. Remember, not every sentence has an object, but many sentences do have object. Phrase Phrase is a group of words that does not have both a subject and a verb. Guys, it gives extra meaning but cannot stand alone as a complete sentence. Like in the garden, under the table. These are the phrases because they do not contain both subject and verb. They don't have subject, doer, or the action. So, they are phrases. Clause It means group of words that has both a subject and verb.

[00:03:55]She is singing. She is the subject and singing is the verb. So, this is clause.

[00:04:00]They have subject as well as verb.

[00:04:03]Independent clause, guys, it gives complete meaning. It can stand alone as a complete sentence. I finished my homework. The sentence is complete by itself. So, it is independent clause.

[00:04:13]Dependent clause, it not it doesn't gives us complete meaning, guys. It needs another clause to complete the sentence.

[00:04:20]If the example is because I was tired, this is not a complete sentence. It needs another part, right? Such as because I was tired, I went to bed early. So, this will make a sense, but only this sentence will not make any sense. So, that is why we say it is dependent on some other clause or some other sentence. Complement, guys, it completes the meaning of the sentence.

[00:04:42]She is happy. Happy completes the meaning of the sentence by telling us about the subject. Then we have adjunct, guys, it gives extra information about time, place, or manner. He came yesterday. Yesterday tells us when he came. So, it is an adjunct. Then we have predicate.

[00:05:02]Predicate tells us something about the subject, guys. The boys The boy plays football. Here plays football is the predicate because it tells us what the boy does. Okay, I hope you understood.

[00:06:25]Basically, it saves time while speaking and writing, guys. Many acronyms are used in our daily life, especially in education, science, technology, banking, and government offices, okay?

[00:06:37]Instead of saying the complete word, we will be using few letters of that word which we have in the first, okay? Let me show you example. See.

[00:06:49]National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Instead of saying the full word or instead of saying the full name, we will say NASA. Okay, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. This is the other name. We will say UNESCO, right? Indian Space Research Organization, ISRO.

[00:08:16]It describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. Basically, it tells us how, when, where, or how much something happens. The main difference between adjective and adverb is that Adjective describes noun, adverb describes verb.

She is happy girl, she smiled happily, he is a good player, he plays well. So, guys, in the first sentence, it is noun or it is adjective, okay? Girl is noun, right? And how the girl is? [00:09:42]Intonation means the rise and fall of our voice while speaking, guys. It is not about what we say, but how we say it. So, by changing our voice, we can show different feelings like happiness, surprise, sadness, anger, excitement, or even ask a question, okay? So, yes, this is about intonation. Rise and fall of our voice while speaking. If you observe when I explain you guys, not only English, any other subject, when I'm explaining you, my voice will be rising and falling. That is nothing but intonation. Basically, it helps us to show our emotions or our feelings or our way of speaking, okay?
