After your fees and expenses, many condos are making very, very modest returns on equity. 2 to 3% in many cases, and if you have very little control over your upside, you can't materially force value-add gains, so you're mostly waiting just for the market to pick you up. The real only objection is, "I don't want to sell low." But, here's the other question.
