[00:00:00]All right, friends. Here we go. We're starting off against Korean pro gamer Rang uh for today's PTR Road to rank one. We're currently rank eight. If we win this, we're probably going to go up to rank seven, which is a fantastic rank, one higher than what I'm at right now. So, progress is always good and I finally know who the hell I'm playing against. I don't think I've actually played against any Terran players that I'm familiar with quite yet or like super high level players. I'm really curious how this is going to go. In my mind, it's going to be really freaking tough, but I don't mind uh you know, some some some tough love. Another thing I was thinking of yesterday is just opening up with a full one gas setup.

[00:00:39]So, just really delaying my attack and going quite heavy on the gateway units and then rushing out a third base pretty much. And then rather than going for blink initially, just straight up going for charge. That's like my first upgrade. So, you delay your Twilight Council and while delaying the Twilight Council. Actually, I'm going to need a pilot on here. Um, yeah, while delaying my Twilight Council, just uh getting a lot of units so that I'm I still feel somewhat safe.

[00:01:10]I'm not sure how easy it's going to be, but I'll try my absolute best. Also, would like to talk about yesterday's video. I made some comments about Warpgate and how I believe that Warpgate, the current Warpgate changes, aren't good for the game. Now, I washed it back a little bit. I come off as a whiny little baby. That was not my intention. I want all of you to know that I'm not a whiny baby, even if it sounds like it. Okay. The reason why I don't like the wargate is not because of balance issues, although I do believe there's going to be bal What the hell is this? I do believe there's going to be balance issues. No, the reason why I really dislike the the warp gate in it current form because I think it guts most of Protos' build orders. Um, and I I I think there's probably a way to balance that, a way to balance the warp gate as it currently is, but what I don't see is a way to have the warp gate as it currently is and not got a lot of build orders or to basically have less early game variety um than before. So, that is my uh my opinion for I I don't care very much about the balance portion of it. I I think it's going to be problematic for now, but I do believe that will most likely get fixed. What I find hard to believe that it will get fixed, like I said, is the uh yeah, is is the other portion, which is going to be the Yeah, just the the build order diversity. So, this guy has four marines. Why? What's going on over here, buddy?

[00:03:01]The problem with getting a fast third base is that I don't even know if this guy has a natural.

[00:03:07]But this is maybe something that, you know, we can we can just fix by pretending like he has a natural and then hoping that he has one. I mean, they have a good gateway count. It's not like can build more units anyway. So, I'm maybe this is just okay. This is just the way the game is supposed to be played right now.

[00:03:24]Okay. Maybe that's just what we should be making of this. We're gonna have some nice vision on this side of things.

[00:03:30]You're going to go across the map. And then the question here is going to be first of all, do we want zealots or stalkers? I think I'm going to get a a sweet mix of the two. We're going to get a third gas. It almost feels like I'm playing as a Zerg here a little bit.

[00:03:42]Very heavy on the minerals first and then later on you start saturating your gases and really kind of go to town on that portion. If this is Banshee, I'm in trouble. This is not Banshee.

[00:06:02]Um I need more sentries to really make sure that I'm safe. I have very very poor vision. I want to stress that here once again. Like my vision is extraordinarily poor. Going to get two more gateways in the mix as well. So, we got okay eco like almost comparable to what we'd have in a live game.

I think this is this is my strongest belief that I have right now. I don't have a lot of strong beliefs, but I I I really I believe that this is correct. Look at all these units just kind of chasing me around. Freaking crazy.

[00:15:40]The crazy thing is they build a planetary on his third. I don't think this is a a brilliant plan. Also, his early game was genuinely garbage.

[00:16:27]But why is he getting um on his fourth base a an orbital and his third base a non-orbital? See if I can kill this before it can kill me. Yep, I think it's his game now. Is he 33 yet?

[00:16:42]No, he's not 33. The attack that he did trying to snipe that pylon really cost him.

[00:16:48]But I think the most interesting thing here is the early game more so than anything else. I think his opener was not good. So he went for a gasless opener. I can see already.

[00:16:59]So gasless, not a CC first, but a um barracks into command center, then gas.

[00:17:08]So he plays it really really slow. But the problem is I also played gasless and he went no scout. So this loses to a couple of things. Imagine I open up with a I think if I open up with a one gate like like a one base proxy robo I think he might be in trouble. If I open up with a nexus first I think he loses the game. If I open up with what this was like 14 gate 60 nexus with a scout I think he's also just in a world of trouble. No, like I I don't think this position is good for him. The problem for me is that I don't have a lot of like I don't really have a lot of information. Maybe I should go adept sentry stalker instead of stalker stalker stalker and then very late sentry so I can get some more information.

[00:17:52]I felt relatively safe. And then the moment I scout this here, I am up 10 workers. I have a third base that is like 50% done. The only thing I'm really missing is a follow-up. Now, against this type of uh this type of play, the three-axx play, I wonder if I could maybe get a robotics facility, but it's hard because I don't scout in time before I throw down my Twilight Council.

[00:18:15]Like, if I get a a semi-laid robotics facility and then just robo bay it or something like would that be good cuz he doesn't get like a mine drop or anything. And I mean, I'm not going to get blinking time for anything either way. So, I mean, my position is phenomenal right now. The fact that this was remotely close, it kind of shows that he's pretty powerful.

[00:18:34]I probably should have checked whether he will had a planetary on his third though before I started morphing all my gateways into warp gates cuz that cost me quite a bit. I went for an attack that cost me 800 resources and it didn't really do anything for a very long time, you know, like I could have had a a much quicker extra forge like here that I I did that here, right? Yeah, cuz I thought maybe like could I imagine he doesn't have the planetary here. Can I actually attack him? He has six Vikings.

[00:19:00]I have a single colossus. I mean, it's going to be a tough battle. I think this was just always a mistake. So, I shouldn't be attacking him. I should get my stalkers a little bit in the front, keep control, get a faster fort and a second forge pretty much instantly.

[00:19:15]That's where my resource should be going. So, instead, I I waste 800 800 and I just get pushed back anyway. Like, he actually was the one with map control. I just thought I had map control, which is weird. I really thought I had it. So, up until here, I think he's he's actually now he's in a good spot again. It wasn't the early game, Ad. Why is he building so many?

[00:19:32]Did the helmets didn't get buffed, did they? Is this like a new thing that people were doing? This seems terrible.

[00:19:38]I feel like the helmets just constantly die. And also, they freaking suck so much of the meta effect. So, they move forward. They take some shots from stalker colossus and then and then they suck your freaking uh your freaking metac right. Look at this. All his meds are out of energy. Then here we take a phenomenal fight. Like this fight wasn't even that good yet here. Well, no, it was good actually. And then here he goes and kill tries to kill my pilot and he doesn't get it. It's like a huge blunder cuz look at these. He's getting freaking blasted. And I just charge in.

[00:20:07]I kill like four units with my first charge and he loses all of his meta effect. And then I have this base on the way as well. He didn't build a third CC.

[00:20:13]He doesn't have a third or orbital either. So usually this situation would be much better for him. But because he doesn't have a third mule, this actually it doesn't suck, but it's not great either. And he's only 57 workers. I think he was pretty all in with this. He has single eBay armory.

[00:20:29]just lose the game. Nice. Okay, this is my first Teran where I felt like Oh, look at that. Achievement awarded denied, baby. There you go. Freaking achievements left, right, and center.

[00:20:41]Yeah, this felt good. I I felt okay with how this went. The early game still feels freaking weird. I feel like I can't really do anything. Um because I I just can't go to the other side of the map unless I proxy a gate uh early on in the game which I don't like. But the rest of the game was kind of okay. I enjoyed this. This was fun cuz I won the game which is really the only metric I use. All right, up next we're against Mai barcode teran player.

So, we're going to go maybe even adept adept sentry. That sounds kind of sexy, honestly. Adept adept sentry cuz adept build a little bit faster now pre-warp gate than they did creep patch.

[00:21:46]I am so curious who actually is supposed to be ahead in the early game in this matchup cuz I genuinely have no clue.

[00:21:55]The only thing I know is that I feel like there's very little builds viable for toss and all of them are kind of defensive builds if anything or like super all in.

What if he gets a freaking uh a reaper as his first unit, though? I want to see if that's the case cuz then I need to build something out of my gateway. Okay, it's a marine. This is good news for me. I think that should have been a reaper.

[00:24:15]I'm kind of So, most likely he is going for a uh multi-rex play here. That is my the vibe that I'm I'm gathering that I'm that I'm getting here. That is that is what I think he's doing. It's possible he isn't doing that, but I think that's what he's doing. So, we're going to throw this thing in here. I want another gateway, too. Like, I have no unit. This is extraordinarily risky. I should have built at least an adept before the war gate. I regret that. I wish I wouldn't have done it.

[00:24:50]So, we're just full chronoing on workers here, you know. We're going to get some uh assimulators out. Dude, I love assimulators. I often tell people it's like if I could be a building in Starcraft 2, be in a simulator.

Well, that's not really possible, but I don't know if it isn't. You know what I mean?

Okay, he had three base. What the hell? This guy is rich as hell. Mire, what happens when you turn around? He's here. I am Marier. Never heard of this guy. Cool build though. So, they did mine drop into like a tank all in off of two base, but with a third B. So, not really an all in, just a push. I lost like 10 workers. Eight. That's suboptimal. I think my eco here is really good. The It just all feels so awkward though to play this stuff.

[00:30:14]Also think the first fight I took was pretty bad. Also, a lot of my sentries did not have stalkers in position. His arm is actually tiny. I think I should have just won this game straight up. And then I knew he was going to go into my main base. I just moved too far to the right. And I had already lost both of my observers, too. He goes up to like six barracks right now or eight racks already. This was a genuinely bad fight for me, I think. even though the tanks didn't really fight for him. I just another thing is that so here I'm down like 15 supply but also I have like another 10 supply in gateways which I'm not used to and I have another like eight supply that's just kind of running over. So every time I look at my supply I'm kind of gaslighting myself like this really armywise is like 130 supply you know to 161 and I I would never fight that. I just it's because the stuff just doesn't arrive at your army. You're pretty much down two entire warp gate cycles because one warpgate cycle is walking towards you. If you're attacking takes about 20 seconds and the other warpgate cycles just in the gateways.

[00:48:55]So you're down like if you have eight gateways, you're down like what is that like like 30ish supply or so from compared to live which feels really weird.
