[00:00:00]All right, so what might be the final product in this sequence? Well, let's see. I have a primary alcohol and my first step is the reaction with PCC. PCC is our favorite oxidizing agent which converts primary alcohols into the corresponding aldehydes, which means that in my first reaction my primary alcohol is going to be converted into the corresponding aldehyde. Now, in my second step, I have a reaction between a thiol, it's a dithiol, in the presence of the acid as the catalyst. This one is going to be a thioacetal formation, similar to a regular acetal, but the only difference here is going to be that instead of oxygens, we're going to end up with sulfurs. So, I'm going to bring my thioacetal and I will end up making a new bond between my carbon of carbonyl with one sulfur and with the other sulfur, meaning that my final product here is going to look something like that. Easy peasy.
