FANTASTIC Day at the Goodwill Bins … Filled My Cart For $30 THRIFTING for Vintage to ResaleAdded:
I just found like a $120ome dollar pillow in the bins.
Hey guys, my name is Missy and I'm a full-time reseller, a thrifter, a picker, or better yet, a treasure hunter. I love digging and hunting for treasures in the wild, just searching for that perfect piece. You can find me picking garage sales, thrift shops, flea markets, and yes, even some curbs. So, come along on this adventure and let's go do some picking.
Hey guys, it's Missy with Junk to be Loved and I'm back with another picking video for you guys today. You already know where I'm at. I'm at the Goodwill bins for another treasure hunt. Like always, even though I really don't need a whole lot of stuff, I am having a live sale.
Well, you're probably not going to see this until after my live sale, but I had a three-day live sale this past week.
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Great, great things. It was such a fun, fun time. So, we're going to go into the bins right now and see what treasures we can find.
It is another gorgeous, beautiful, beautiful day here in Iowa. 76° perfect weather.
Gorgeous, beautiful. Not very much wind, just a little breeze, not too much. It's beautiful outside today.
I got to pick up kiddos from school today, so I won't be here very long.
Just a couple hours today.
Oh, nope. Stiff cart.
Yep. This one's better. I like the ones that the wheels roll smoothly.
We're getting ready to bring out clothes right now.
>> Hey. Hey.
This is a vintage ceramic Christmas tree. Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness. A vintage ceramic Christmas tree. It's got the blue pegs in it. Yeah, that's a no-brainer. I'm definitely going to take that.
Hold on a second. I'm skipping these real quick. I'll go back.
This is a metal sign.
Reserved parking.
Oo, I'm knocking over the coat glasses.
Huh. Can't believe my friend Todd didn't want this metal sign.
I wonder why. I'm going stick it in my cart and think about it. I'm probably not going to get it. I'm going to see if somebody else wants it. But okay, back here. Back here.
I like the handles on that one here. Let's zoom. There we go. Zoom out just a tad bit. Oh, see here's old license plates from 1997.
Too bad. Huh. I wonder why Todd did not want those.
I wonder. Ooh, these are pretty quietness.
Meditation.
And that one's got water damage. Autumn beach.
No, don't want none of that.
That's a pretty picture frame. Oh, here they come with the soft. I think I'm going to come back to these >> and go look in the soft. Okay, cool. I went over and looked in the soft goods and Betty found me this vintage quilt, so I'll probably be taking that. And then I found a stack of uh vintage hankies.
Just a couple of them in there. One was Edith.
So, I'm going to take that stack of hankies and I'm going to look in here and see what I can find.
Back in the glass.
Wonder when they brought these out. I haven't asked Vintage ashrays in there, but not not anything good.
Not anything I want.
That's been glued. That's heavy pottery piece. Somebody made it.
I don't know what that is. There's some Christmas hangers down here, but again, nothing that I really want.
Easter greetings.
Ooh.
This has some crazing from age crazing. But I do like that.
I really do like that devild egg plate.
Hey, Tmaine. Did they bring these out today?
>> What?
>> I think this was already out.
>> Yeah. Oh, they so Oh, they haven't brought it out yet today?
>> Yeah.
>> Awesome.
All for the glory of God. Made in China.
Made in China. Oo, that's dangerous.
That's broken glass all over in there.
No.
All right. Oh, it's very 90s style frame.
We're going to go to the hard.
Well, I was going to sit here and untangle all this off of this.
I was going to get it all untangled cuz this is a stinking adorable basket. But, okay, as you can see, rough rough. It is so nasty on the inside.
That's definitely staying behind.
No, I was I was like, "Oh, that's such a cool basket."
Cuz I just seen it from this side.
Nope. That is bad, bad, bad, bad.
It's a backpack that's falling apart.
All right, this was the last hard row they did. So, we're going to look in here. That's a metal elephant.
What's that say in the bottom?
>> Oh my gosh. I can't even read that.
That's cool.
That's a metal elephant piece. Wonder if the lid is in here. I'm going to stick that in there.
>> Cute.
>> Thank you.
There's a harmonica. New one.
Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Going to take this deer.
All right. I'm going to untangle that deer.
My mom is going to love love love this.
It is so tiny.
So, so tiny. She's Mom's going to keep this. I already know. So, I'm stick that in my car. I don't want anything to happen to it. So tiny.
She's going to love it.
My mother collects um tiny Bibles. Well, not tiny ones, but Bibles in general.
I'm going to look up that purse real quick. I've never seen that brand before.
All right. Well, these bags are priced all over the place. Some are really expensive and some are like 20 bucks.
Um, I think this one is missing something right here, I believe. And this one has this purse has a wear. I'm going to leave it behind. Tell me if you would if you think I should have got it. Let let me know in the comments below.
That was loud. Let me know in the comments below if you think I should have grabbed that purse.
Oh my goodness.
>> Now, this is really, really cool. I'm definitely going to get this. It's a vintage uh Oh, tiger.
Winnie the Pooh game for children. I don't know if I'm going to keep this or sell it yet. I haven't decided, but that's definitely going to come home with me. I did find my grandbaby a CNA.
She has one I've already bought her one for her house, but now she has one for our house.
That doesn't weigh hardly anything at all. And it was I don't having a hard time seeing a year. But 200 and something 2008 I think maybe that's definitely going to go in my cart and get put back for Halloween cuz it doesn't weigh a whole lot. I'm doing pretty good today.
Doing pretty pretty good.
I don't know what that is.
It's creepy.
I like the name of this book. The Wonky Donkey.
I did just find this bag. I really like it. It is in great condition.
Well, so I guess I shouldn't say great condition. My mom yells at me for saying that. It's in good condition.
Sorry, mom. But I love it. I love this bag. I'm going to put that in my cart and think about it. I also found a made in Mexico leather backpack. I'm finding all kinds of different treasures today so far. Not too bad. Not too bad.
Okay, so my dilemma with lifesavers is these Christmas books, right? Do you remember back in the day when you could buy these lifesaver Christmas books and they would have all different flavors like butterscotch and you know different ones. Well, now they're just the plain.
Now you and it's like $5 for this one thing of lifesavers.
It's It's crazy to me how things have changed. Like Lifesavers, quit going cheap. Bring back the old flavors.
We like the old flavors in the story books. I wanted to get my kids those for Christmas this year.
That's a pretty bracelet.
Wanted to get my um kids those for Christmas this year and then we found them at Walmart and they are absolutely not the same.
It is a bummer.
There's a mini brand.
Just one mini brand in here.
A bunch a bunch a bunch of handwritten recipes. But I don't know. Do people still want those?
the handwritten recipes on the cards.
I don't know.
I used to grab them, but I don't know if people want them still. Let me know.
Maybe if I had a cute recipe box to put them in. Right now, I do not.
Oh, that's rough shape. Or else I'd get that for my grandbaby.
She has a thing for purses right now.
She was always trying to get into my purse.
Love Where's Waldo?
H I wonder if I can find any more of these. Look at this. This is an old letter from 1953.
It's like a handwritten. Wonder if it's like a love letter. I don't know. But that's definitely going to go on my card. I wonder if there's any more in here.
That would be awesome. I'm curious to see to read it.
She is adorable. She is like a washcloth doll.
So cute. So, she's definitely going in my cart.
Mind you, I don't know what I'm keeping and what I'm getting rid of yet. So, not everything will be staying in my cart.
I have to be picky. Picky picky picky.
Oh my, there's this one is full.
So, I'm cleaning out my car and this is going to go back. It's just from the Dollar Tree. I thought it felt cheap.
It's not. It doesn't say a date on it. I thought it did, but it doesn't. So, that's going back.
Bye-bye old bins. They're going to take away this row and bring out some new ones.
>> Well, I got a few things out of the new bins. Look at he's in rough shape.
Ronald McDonald plushy. Then I found some frogs. This one's broken.
>> It's like an old Florida water globe.
Not much in these new bins. Not much.
Go back here and see if I can find any more frogs.
So, this is where I found the frogs.
There's more frogs like these resin shelf sitters, but they're broken and stuff like that. So, it's an old framed picture.
See, there's like newer frogs. I just like the Frogger game.
The one I know is an old Frogger game, so that's pretty cool.
And there's like this frog candle on here, but he's in really really rough shape, too.
I just found like a $120ome pillow in the bins. This pillow is like $120ome dollars. It's a certain one. So, that's is super exciting. Definitely worth me coming up today. Um, I'm going through my cardigan and I decided to put this washcloth doll back because I don't like how discolored the wash part, the wash rag is. So, I'm going to keep going through my cart.
I got my grandbaby a piano.
I forgot to record an outro, but we made it home from the Goodwill bins and I spent a total of $30. So, not bad at all. Let's just get right into the haul.
Okay, we are home from the Goodwill bins and like I said, I spent $30 total. So, I'm going to show you everything that I got.
I picked up this awesome made in Mexico leather backpack. It is all leather. What's neat about this one is see how this it zips so it can be two straps. Isn't that cute? And it zips all the way to the thing. So you can make it like a backpack or you can make zip it all the way up and make it one big strap. I love that. I just thought that was so nice. Beautiful condition.
So that came home with me.
And then I picked up this awesome vintage um tiger Winnie the Pooh game. Where's the Mark Tiger? Right there.
right there.
I love these. This is from the '9s.
Oh my gosh, my contacts are not wanting to want me to see, but it's marked on the back. It's from the '9s, so that's pretty cool. That was exciting. I need to put batteries in it and see if it works. I bought it untested.
And I did pick up some hankies.
a lot of hankies.
I picked up a set of really nice There's two of them here. Um, vintage pillow cases.
Look at those flowers. Aren't those really, really pretty?
Love that. So, and both of them are in really good condition. So, I picked up a pair of pillow cases.
I picked up this vintage dude. He's going to go in a a vintage toy lot, like a toy bag, a treasure bag, a treasure toy bag or something like that maybe. Or he might just go into a treasure bag.
Who knows? But he's vintage and cool.
And then I picked up this brand new apron. It is a Vera Vera Bradley. Brand new with the tags.
Still has its tags. Apron. Great condition.
It's got pockets even. So, that's pretty cool.
And then I did pick up this little vintage Christmas piece. This will go into a Christmas treasure bag along with this one.
He's cute. That will go into a Christmas treasure bag.
I picked up a Mickey Mouse lanyard to go into a treasure bag.
A vintage My Little Pony to go into a treasure toy bag.
This vintage Frogger game.
How cool is that?
That is such a cool piece. I didn't even notice it is broken right there, unfortunately. Darn it. Wait, is it broken?
Maybe it's not. Maybe that's just how it's made. I don't know.
I can't tell cuz it's like that on both sides.
Maybe that's just how it's made.
I don't know.
It's from the year 2000, so it'll go into a toy bag.
And this vintage book, I thought that was cute.
This treasure box.
Cute little Bye, Charles. This little trinket box.
It's like lacquered wood. I really like it. Very, very pretty flowers on there.
I don't know what that means, but pretty nice. I like the color blue.
I found this. This is really cool. This is someone's vintage letter from 1953 is the date. It's stamped on there and it is a letter on the inside. It's multiple pages. It It's in written in cursive, so it's a little hard to read, but I thought somebody could do something with that. I thought it was a neat piece. And then I picked up this. I, you know, with all the crafters that watch my channel, I thought they would really enjoy this book. It's got some really cool different crafts on the inside. Um, let's see here.
Make believe aquarium. Frying pan.
Uh, frying pan. What does that say? Wall plaques.
different things you can make.
There's like an ash a cigarette box.
You can make a cigarette box. Like really cool things. So, I thought that was neat. I like the colors on that one.
Again, I thought somebody could craft with it. I might just do a whole bunch of things in a lot crafting lot or something. This bracelet will go into a treasure bag.
Little People for the Little People bag.
A vintage belt buckle.
It's really pretty.
This is going to my mom. I can't believe that I completely forgot to tell her that I got this for her. I'm going to have to FaceTime her in a minute and show her that.
And then that I thought was fun. And that can go into a treasure bag. That's a wood carved sign. Super cool.
Shout wipes for my purse.
I picked up this awesome, awesome, awesome puzzle box.
It is really neat. I kind of don't want to show you guys how it opens. I want the person whoever buys it on my live sale to it to be a surprise for them cuz it took me a little bit to figure it out how to open it cuz it is a puzzle box.
But I thought that was cool.
That's going to my mom. Be careful with that. That's really old.
And then I did pick up a couple glass pieces out of the glass bins.
I picked up this vintage ceramic Christmas tree.
Love this. No chips or cracks on it.
It's very pretty. It's got the blue bulbs on the front as you can see. Um, I think something might have been glued on the top because it's got a little bit of glue residue it looks like on the top, but other than that, it is so cool. It's not been broken or anything. It's just I think there might have been a star. They had a star glued on top of it at one point. But I did pick up that one.
Oh, one mini brand. I'm going to give that to mom cuz she's got a whole bunch of mini brands. So that I showed you the little people for the little people bag over there.
Okay. So then I picked up some quilts, you guys. I love the quilts that I got.
I did end up finding three. So here's the first one that I found.
Very pretty.
Love that. So, I will lay it all out right there and take a picture so you guys can see what it looks like all laid out.
And then I found this one.
It is a wedding ring quilt. This one I'm unsure of. I I don't think it's handstitched. It might be m machine stitched, but it's still really cool.
wedding ring. So, I will lay it out right there and put the size so you guys can see what it looks like all laid out.
So, those are two of the quilts.
And then I found this amazing amazing amazing star pillow. These are very, very pricey, like $120. I will post comps right there so you guys can see what these sell for. I was like in shock. This one's in perfect condition.
There's no rips, tears, holes, or stains.
It is by like that certain artist that you've seen, but he is so cool.
Love that.
And then I picked up another glass piece out of the glass bins. It is this vintage deileled eggplate.
It's got a really nice chicken on there.
It does have crazing from age.
But it is so pretty.
No chips or cracks. Just some crazing from age and a little dusty is all. I like that one.
I did find a Prada, a fake Prada. It is fake, but still it's cool. You never find um Prada in the bins at all. Even fake Prada you never find in the bins.
So, really nice condition. There's no rips or tears. Even on the inside, it's nice.
It says Prada, but it is a fake one. I like the fringe. Love the fringe. It's a good fake.
I like it.
I like the color, too. It's a green you don't see very often. And then I picked up this handbag.
Love this one, too. really really nice condition.
And then this one is Hype.
That's the brand of that one. Hype. I looked it up. Pretty decent prices on this one. So I think I believe it's all leather.
It's also marked on its little tag right there, too. Hype. So that's pretty cool. I like that one.
Nice bag.
I love the handbags.
Love getting them out of the bin. And I did find my grandbaby some toys.
So, this will be going to Miss Carson along with this.
Love the CNS.
>> The alligator says.
>> So, those are going to be for Carson.
And then the last thing that I picked up is my favorite. Favorite favorite.
Absolutely love this. It is the third quilt.
The most beautiful nice one. This is heavy, too. A really, really nice heavy duty quilt.
It is so neat.
Every single little square is patched or quilted. What are you doing, Louis?
>> Oh my gosh, he's being a trying to climb in the blanket.
>> Get away from me. I'm playing with him.
>> Isn't that cool? It is so awesome, you guys. Like, I will lay it out right here so you can see what it looks looks like all laid out and the size. It's a big one. Absolutely love that.
