Google’s FREE AI Tool Can Build Android Apps From Your Browser!Added:
Did you know that this AI tool from Google with a generous free tier allows you to create mobile app just by giving simple text prompt? And the interesting thing is that everything happens right inside of a web browser. And even after creating the app, you get a Android simulator right inside of this web browser interface. And you can test the app, add new features and take it forward and you can even download the app. Sounds interesting, right? Well, that is exactly what I'm going to show you in today's video. So this right here is Google A studio and a lot of you might be already aware of this platform right it has been there for quite some time now and Google team is extensively adding new features to the platform to make it even better and right now we have a option to build Android apps inside of a studio and the thing is that not a lot of people are actually aware of the same so everyone when they think of let's say creating a mobile app or an Android app thinks that they need to let's say set up a ID and after that they will need to install let's say a Android emulator or let's say Android Studio and take it like that, right?
Well, you no longer have to do that. So, all you got to do is to click the link in the description below or just head over to asstudio.google.com and you can go ahead and sign up for an account or login using your existing Gmail account.
And again, Google's as studio have a generous free plan. So, even if you don't have any paid subscription, you can play around and start building Android apps. And after you log in, this right here is the kind of interface that you will see. And as you can see, it says build your ideas with Gemini. And make sure you are in the build tab right here. And now towards the bottom you will now find an option that says build an Android app. And now in addition to building Android app, this platform allows you to create web apps and all that kind of stuff including landing pages and all that. Specifically in this video, we're interested in creating an Android app. Now all you got to do is to describe what kind of app you want to build in this input area right here and hit enter and the AA gets to work. And I'm not talking about just toy apps with no real back end or user authentication.
You can even add user authentication or let's say back end using Firebase and take it forward. Now, just just to show you a demo, I'll go ahead and give a prompt to build, let's say, a habit tracker app. And all you got to do is to enter the prompt in here. And after that, select this option right here that says build an Android app. And now, if you have any design reference files or screenshot to attach, you can click on this plus button right here and add files. And if you want to, you can also use this speech to text tool right here to dictate your prompt. So, this right here is the prompt I'll give. And it says, build a simple habit tracker mobile app with clean and minimal UI.
and I explained a bunch of features and different screens that I want. And yeah, this is like a fairly simple prompt just to show you a demo. And now you can take your time, craft a really good prompt and take it forward. And now this right here is the prompt. And I'll make sure to enable this option right here that says build an Android app. And next up, all I got to do is to click on this build button right here. And there you go. AS Studio has started working on the same. And it is currently creating all these files and also working on the same. and it is actually using Gemini 3.1 Pro preview model for creating the app and it will take some time. So I tried it previously and it took about like 5 to 10 minutes to create the initial version of the app and now all you got to do is to sit back and wait and I'll see you afterwards. And in the meantime, let me quickly take a second to talk about our sponsors for today's video, Pork Bun. One thing a lot of people underestimate when starting an online business is branding. Even something as simple as your domain name can completely change how professional your store feels. And right now, Portbun is running a deal where you can get a do.shop domain for just $1 for the first year. And honestly, using something like your brand.shop makes way more sense for e-commerce sites. It's clean, memorable, and instantly tells people that your site is a place where they can buy something. And one thing I like a lot about Porkburn is how they keep everything simple. No aggressive upsells during checkout, no hidden renewals or prices, and no charging extra for features that should be already included. You get free SSL certificates, free who is privacy, email forwarding, URL forwarding and a lot of other useful tools included with your domain and the interface is really easy to use as well.
You can search, buy and manage your domain in minutes, even if you have never done this before. And they also have real human customer support if you ever need help, which is surprisingly rare these days. So, if you're building an online store or growing your online brand, just click the link in the description below to get your dot shop domain for just $1 for the first year.
Now, back to the video. All right. So there you go. It took about 456 seconds.
And here we have the initial version of the app. And these are all the files that the AI created. And towards the right side, I can find a preview of the app. So it says I have successfully completed the habit tracker application using a modern minimalist design. And here is a summary of the accomplishments. So offline first database engine. And here we have minimalist iOS inspired theme. And it says today view and streak, 7-day visualization, progress tracked and also clean custom app icon. And towards the right side here we have like an Android device simulator and the app is already opened up and it says today's habit and here I have a plus button to add the same and we explicitly asked to include two options that is today tab and progress tab and I can find both of them in here and I can click on these icons to move around. Okay, so next step I'll try to click on this plus button right here and let's just go ahead and add a new habit. Let's say water plants.
water plants daily.
Click on save and let's see. And there you go. The water plants habit is added and it says zero day streak. And if I let's say click on the same, it will be marked as completed. And if I go to progress, okay, the same is marked in here as well. Okay, this right is like the initial version of the app that the AI has created. Next up, let's just go ahead and ask the AI what other screens should be possibly include within this app. What other screens should we include in this app?
and I can click on the send button. So if you have an idea as to exactly what you want to build, you can go ahead and give follow a prompt and make any sort of changes. And if you move over to this code tab right here, you'll be able to find all the code like all the files and folders responsible for this app. And you even have the option for exporting the code. If you click on this export option towards the top left or top right, you'll be able to find two options that is export to anti-gravity.
You can directly open this project in anti-gravity and get going or you can download the entire project as zip file and continue with any other auditing uh software as of choice. So here the AI says here are a few screens that would naturally fit the concept that is habit detail screen, settings and data screen, archive and old habit screen, enhanced add and edit habit screen. Okay, please implement all of them. Okay, I can give a prompt something like this and click on send. And again, if you want to attach an images, you have the option. So basically, we want to add like a habit detail screen, the option to archive habits and also enhance the add edit habit screen option. And again, if I let's say click on this home button, I'll be able to access the device. There you go. This right here is like an Android device that we have full access to. Maybe let's just try opening one of these apps.
Hm. Okay.
All right. So, we don't have an account yet, but yeah, this right here is the Android simulator. And mind you, we haven't actually installed any Android simulator or anything as such in our device. Everything is happening in Google servers. And we are basically using it directly from our web browser.
So, even if you have like a computer with less configuration, the same will work. And yep, it will take some time for the AI to sort of implement uh all these screens and changes that we asked for. So, I'll wait for it to complete and I'll see you afterwards. So, there you go. It says I have implemented the additional screens for the habit tracker application including a habit detail section and also settings screen. And towards the right side in the preview I can already find a settings page. And if I click on the same it opens up a settings page. And currently we only have like the about section in here. And if I click on one of these habits okay it opens up a habits details page as well and also the option to delete habits as well. Okay. So these are all the new features that we were able to add. And next step let's just say you want to add authentication and database.
Next step, I can go ahead and give a prompt. Please add o and let's say database and hit enter. And now you can continue giving prompt like these and add like a backend database configure authentication and take it forward from here. And towards the top if you click on this publish option right here you have the option to publish your app to test on the play console. So you can't directly publish the app to the app store or it's the play store directly yet. But it says publishing to play store is coming soon. And it says this app will not be publicly available and send your apps to others when you are ready via play console and also continue building your app on play console. So if you want to publish like a test version you have the option you can click on this get started button and if you want to share here we have the option for sharing. So you can enter other person's email address in here and share this uh app. And again here we have the option for selecting the model that you want to use. If you want to let's say use the Gemini 3.5 flash which is like the latest model you can select it from here. And here we can find all these versions. And if you have like secrets or environment variables, you'll be able to add them in here. And you also have the option for syncing your project to GitHub. So every time the AM makes any change, it will automatically update the repository and push all these changes.
So pretty much everything is in here within this interface itself. And as you can see, it is the app currently uses a local room SQL database. Okay. So which is actively storing the habits and completion securely on the device. And now for adding authentication and database, it is asking what option are we looking for that is local app lock and cloud back end. Obviously, we'll have to go with cloud back end and for this you can either use Firebase or Superbase and you can go ahead and give follow prompt and take it forward from here. Now, this is all I wanted to show you in today's video. So, basically Google AS Studio now allows you to create full fresh mobile apps and that too right inside of your web browser without having the need to let's say set up or let's say download and install any simulator or even an Android emulator for that matter. And if you do want to get started, just head over to asudio.google.com, sign up for a new account and you can to start building mobile apps just like this. And also make sure to check out the link in the description below to get a doshop domain for just $1 for the first year. And now, yeah, that's pretty much all I wanted to show you in today's video. I hope you guys found this video useful. If yes, make sure to subscribe and I'll see you in the next
