The video incisively captures how predatory arbitrage has hollowed out the cultural value of collecting, replacing genuine passion with cold financial speculation. It is a sobering look at how unregulated secondary markets can turn a shared hobby into a zero-sum game of artificial scarcity.

Pokémon Resellers RUINED The Market, Now People Are LOSING ITAdded:
See these shelves? See these cool designs? How much you want to bet eBay they're going to be listed?
What what radicalized me was the moment they started tearing apart the literal shelves to resell. People thought I was joking with that video. People thought, "Oh, he's just having a funny crash chat. He's just they're selling the shelves. They were fighting people and tearing apart the shelves, not just the product on the shelves, the shelves themselves. We're going to get to the point where these people will tear apart drywall if it has a Pokemon sticker on it just to resell it. They will start ripping off limbs of people who have Pokemon tattoos to resell the tattoos.
Folks, we're at peak hysteria. And unfortunately, it's going to take a minute because while these unhinged and insane individuals are doing this stuff, the problem is they're only doing it because someone out there is buying it.
Scalpers are only 50% of the equation.
They don't scalp if there's no one to buy. Oh, the rest of this year is going to be rough. This is absolutely ridiculous, unhinged, and frankly quite saddening. And unfortunately, it's just going to get worse because no matter how ridiculous it is, it just keeps happening. You know what? I'm just going to put out another prediction right now because I know how unhinged and crazy people are, they're going to scalp ETB covers. See this Hidden Fates ETB cover?
Oh my gosh, it's it's going to be the best return on investment you've ever had in your life. are going to have content creators and all these really really cool Pokemon people in the space talk about how they spent $10,000 on this ETD cover because the ETD cover >> people are absolutely losing right now all over internet over this massive Pokemon drop basically just came out and scalpers just came out and just wiped the shelves. I mean seriously. And now they're reselling it and posting it back online. But we know this is nothing new.
This has been going on for a long time.
It's been happening in the sneaker industry. It's been happening in the Pokemon industry. I think a lot of this started during the pandemic, but what happened to the days where a lot of these collectibles and collections and all these different things were for the kids. Kids were able to go out and purchase these different things. They were actually using the cards, trading cards. And I remember I had a Pokemon collection back in elementary school.
But now it's no longer about the kids.
It's more about how can adults come out and find money and make as much money as possible versus actually enjoying. And by all means, some people do enjoy the game itself, but more of it is truly just money, money, money, money, money, money. Truly. But here's another perspective on it. Let's check this out, guys.
>> Yarn, bro.
>> Talking about grown ass people.
>> God bless you guys. God bless you guys.
>> They made this [ __ ] harder for me.
>> And after that, you want to have 40 [ __ ] on your ass. They thugging out right now. offending.
>> Yo, tell them to come back here so we can all tell him.
>> Cut in everybody.
>> Yeah, man. Just Just get him out. Pack him up. Pack him up.
>> You're a grown man recording a little ass girl. You're weird.
>> You ain't [ __ ] around, bro.
>> Everybody clap. Everybody clap.
>> Everybody clap. Everybody >> go to the bed.
>> And this is how serious it gets. I mean, people wait in line at 4:00 a.m. in the morning. at 2:00 a.m. in the morning.
Like I remember when I used to work at Target and this is just off the brain story, right? I used to work at Target and randomly we would be throwing the truck like working like working super hard going in at 4:00 a.m. in the morning just to throw the truck, right?
Like it was insane. And we would walk up and we would see random people with their chairs and stuff outside. Like we're like, "What? Why are y'all outside with chairs and stuff? What what is going on?" But they were there because of these Pokemon drops. Seriously, like real life waiting outside. I mean, I'm not joking whatsoever. That is how serious this is. I I I I I never understand it. And I'm not shaming anybody who goes out and do it whatsoever, right? Like, you know, if you enjoy doing stuff like this, that that is your free will. It just like it it baffles me that, you know, it's this to this level of extent. That's all I'm saying.
>> Got there at 4:30 a.m.
>> 4:30 >> 7:30 a.m. The line started to get crazy.
Speed walked all the way to the back of the store, >> saw the item I came here for. I called yesterday. They said they only had seven jackets. Glad I was able to get one.
>> Then things got a little crazy.
>> Excuse me. Sorry.
>> Is there a keyboard? Oh, thanks, dude.
>> Shout out to my boy Randy. He knew I wanted the keyboard, so he grabbed me one just in case.
>> Anything on the other side?
There were a lot of t-shirts, totes, and wallets left.
>> Tons of cups.
>> I like this AR one.
>> There wasn't much left after the craziness.
>> But this mom got all this for her kid.
That's awesome. Sorry to whoever gets this box. That's why you never get the front one. Met some really nice people today in line. Shout out Paige and Randy. They even did a little trade in the parking lot. We got everything we wanted. Here's a little review of the jacket that I really wanted. All the eight badges, >> the starting three inside the pocket.
>> There was a zipper on the side for maximum breathability.
>> Really nice details in the front, on the cuffs, and in the back. This jacket was a must for me.
>> I'd say it was a successful day.
>> Yeah. And that's a success story that a lot of that some people have, and I think his video has success story, but everybody else did not have a success story. Here's why we see things like this. This is two o'clock in the morning, guys. Two o'clock. Do people not have jobs? You know, before we get to this, right? Do people not have jobs?
And I mean that in the most sincere question and and genuine question. Like I I I was just waking up at this time to get ready for work, let alone am I going out to go and buy some Pokemon? I I just h I just don't get it, man. I just don't get it. But I guess this this right here shows that everybody's not broke.
Everybody's not broke in this economy.
Everybody's not struggling like like they say they are. Everybody's not struggling. Some people are actually probably doing very well. Maybe this is their job and their entire life is surrounded around how many products they can go out and buy up and and inflate and artificially inflate the value of it and then just go back out and sell it because people still go out and buy it.
That's the unfortunate part about it.
>> No way. You're lying. There's two chairs here. What the hell are we doing?
Pokemon X Target launch for their apparel. And we have two ghost chairs here.
>> What? I didn't know you were there.
>> You're a false narrator, bro.
>> How am I a false narrator?
>> 8 years old, homie. 8 years old.
>> All right, cool. Oh, you don't have to clarify.
>> Clarify that [ __ ] ain't no guilt chair, bro.
>> I mean, you just did it right now so I don't have to. You don't have to get mad at me. Why you getting hostile?
>> Been here all night, dog.
>> Why you going to hostile me here all night, bro?
>> Not going to lie, this kind of a vibe, man. This is fun. Besides everything that happened in the beginning, but what time is the store open? It opens at 8:00 a.m., chat. It's almost 6:00 now, man.
Like, every single person here has waited in their chair the entire night.
Dude, he's a legend, bro. He's out here in shorts with two and a half hours to go. What's up, bro? Just transparently, like I I won't be able to hold the spot.
You know what I'm saying?
>> Hold my spot.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, it's cool that he's streaming.
Shout out to him for actually making money while he's doing it. I guess that's a different perspective on it, right? He's creating content and providing, I guess, some sort of entertainment or value to other people.
So, you know, that's a great perspective on it versus a lot of these these other people aren't really streaming and making money from it. So, you know, I guess I mean if you turn into a business and I I guess capitalize on it, I guess that's fine. I mean, it depends on what you're doing with the product as well.
Like, are you actually collecting it or are you just going out and just ruining the fund just to make an extra bit of money on that? That's the problem.
That's where I draw the line on it.
>> This is what you call working with people to get their approval. All right.
You ready? Yo, that that guy's in shorts, too.
>> Hey guys, do you mind if I go put this back in my car really quickly?
>> I just wanted to ask if it was okay, you know.
>> Yeah. Thank you guys. Appreciate it.
Performative. Shut up. I had a pack in my car. You're out here in shorts, man.
>> I'm going to give you a pack, bro. Hey guys, here. Pack on me.
>> All right. Hey guys, >> thanks for coming. Kid passed out with the thing playing out in the speaker. Mad [ __ ] bro.
Oh my god.
One more hour, boys.
>> Um, and then when we do open the doors, we are going to be heading to electronics and we're going to all get in a single file line on the back wall.
And we're going to let about three people each at a time through the aisles. So, that's not crazy hectic. We can all get a chance to browse and see exactly what it is that we want and we can go ahead and grab. And then when we check out, we're going to head to electronics checkout.
>> Thank you so much. Oh my god.
>> Wow. I'm impressed. There's more than 40 people here.
>> Thank you so much, man. Appreciate you.
>> Okay, we're going to allow three guests at a time to shout the aisle.
>> Sure. Starting with one, two, three.
>> Thank you very much.
>> Thank you guys for waiting. Thank you for your patience.
>> This is so cool. Oh my god. The lip balm for sure. Wross body. I might as well just get a Pokeball one, too. That would be pretty cool. Oh, and those are the totes. I'm saving this for 20 years and eating it in 20 years. Wait, it's Pikachu shaped. I got to get that.
Yeah. Anyways, this is how serious it is. I mean, we can there's so many videos, so many clips. I mean, y'all get the point. Basically, it was just a massive drop, similar to what we saw in Black Friday. Y'all saw how many people were in line. 50 people woke up early in the morning at 4:00 a.m. to wait for the store to open up at 8. Mind you, Targets open up at 8:00. So, that's, you know what, that's neither here nor there.
It's just a different topic that's different from the political things that we talk about. But, of course, y'all let me know if you'all want to see more content like this. I always try to stay outside the box.
