Added:Are we good?
>> Are we good? Yep. Cool. All right. What are they fall and [singing] break the laws you've learned? [music] [music] >> [music] >> Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat. [music] [music] >> [music] >> You useless device it won't suffice.
I want a new game to play.
When I [music] am gone, it won't be long before I distice [music] [music] comes at a price that I [music] am not prepared to pay.
Beautiful.
[music] Will someone tell me please?
[music] [music] Interesting that the album's closing with a song about religion. [music] Like a lot of the songs on here have been more personal about like Matt's experience in relationships and feelings of obsession and like moving on from relationship and then it's ending with a song about religion.
Interesting.
[music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> I'll listen to it, but it's not going to count towards the album score.
Um, solid closer. I'm feeling like a high seven on this as a uh finishing track. Um, some pretty decent like I don't know very church-like elements to this track. The organ, the the big pounding drums uh kind of give it kind of a sort of very what's what's the word I'm looking for?
I don't know. There's something about it that feels like this track could be played in a church, you know? Um, yeah. And on top of that, you have like the very religious leaning lyrics about Matt Bellamy, I guess, uh, describing religion as as kind of just, I don't know, a thin veil for people to to cope essentially. Like, take off your disguise. I know that underneath it's me, like describing religion as almost like a facade that people put up to, I guess, cope with feelings of mortality, you know?
I I think it's well written enough. I I I I didn't absolutely love this track.
In fact, I said it's a high seven. It's it's closer to like a low seven for me.
It feels like a little plain lyrically, and I feel like they could have done a little more with the like more church-like sound that they were bringing to this track. But honestly, on the whole, I do think that it works for the most part really well. I would give this Yeah. Yeah. low seven.
Yeah, that was Origin of Symmetry by Muse.
I I'll do Futurism after the stream's over. It's not part of the album, so I'm not going to include it in the video, but I I'll do it after the stream's over.
Yeah, that was Origin of Symmetry by Muse.
This album's good. I uh Yeah, coming back to it. I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to. I don't think this album is quite as consistent as I originally thought it was. I don't think this album is, I don't know, quite as bold or quite as um necessarily like consistently thrilling as I originally thought it was, but it is a very solid listen. I think the first five tracks are all absolutely incredible. Um you know, that that that initial run from Newborn to Plug-in Baby is just absolute [ __ ] fire. It takes a bit of a nose dive with the following three cuts and then kind of finds its footing for the most part moving into the final third. But yeah, I definitely think that this is a very front-loaded project. And those first five songs, maybe with the exception of the second track, I would see myself coming back to them all regularly. And I'd say maybe even Feeling Good as well.
I think Feeling Good's a pretty solid cover.
This is an album that sees the band just at such a creative high, blending so many different like electronic sounds into very raw but also like disgusting and heavy uh rock tracks that make it feel futuristic and alien in a way that is so specifically Muse. This is this feels like them crafting such a trademark sound for themselves. Uh most evident on songs like Plug-in Baby. uh Hyper Music, basically any of the first five tracks, not even say Citizen Erased as well. Um some of the more like experimental cuts don't work the best necessarily. Like Screen Aeria for example, I think is like a bit of a weird detour into some like acoustic eastern inspired music that I I respect the ambition, but the execution is just not there. Um, and yeah, there's a couple of like slower moments on the album that I think just just fall a little flat on their face, and the band do kind of lose themselves in the theatrics a couple times as well, but there's just so many just absolutely fire [ __ ] moments on this album that I don't really mind. This is a very, very solid release and I am feeling a 7.3 out of 10 on this album.
Low seven.
See, I'm not a muse hater. I This is a good album right here. It's a good album.
Yeah. I don't know. I enjoyed this listen. I enjoyed this listen. And there's five Yeah. five songs that I would come back to regularly.
And honestly, that's all I can really ask for. That's all I can really ask for. Good [ __ ] So, you hate Muse?
Exactly. I hate this band blindly because I g because I gave this album a seven.
But yeah, if this uh if this video does well, I will go through some more of their albums as well. Black holes and revelations, absolution, even some of the more controversial newer stuff like drones, simulation theory, will of the people.
Maybe go back to showbiz as well. Um, yeah, I don't know. I I'd be I'd be interested in doing the rest of their Discord.
Absolutely.
All right, chat. I'm going to do the outro for the video. Then I'm going to write the album of the year review. Then we'll listen to Futurism.
Thank you all so much for watching this video. Let me know what you think.
[ __ ] hell.
Thank you all so much for watching this video. Let me know what you think of this album down below and how it compares to other Muse albums for you.
You can check out my reaction to the WoW signal. And if you're watching this in the future and there's more Muse videos, maybe even more of those uh somewhere around here. Definitely check those out if you haven't. Like and sub if you haven't as well. We are on our way to 5K. Links in the description to my Discord, my album of the year, my other channels, my Instagram. Check those out if you haven't. And I will see you all whenever I next stream or upload.
Bye-bye.
All right, try this album of the year review. I put all the scores in. Yeah.
There you go. Anything but the seven treatment.
What do you mean anything but the seven treatment? It's It's a good score.
It's It's a positive score.
Scroll up.
Oh, buddy gave it the seven treatment.
Oh, I see.
Port is head now. No.
[ __ ] port his head now. Coming in my chat being like, "Port his head now."
No.
Who do you think you are?
I've been awake since like 6:30 a.m.
It's now 20 to 11. I'm listening to Futurism, then I'm going to bed.
>> [music] [music] >> This album Smoke [music] Heat. Heat. Heat.
[music] Yeah.
Heat.
[music] Heat. Heat.
[music and screaming] >> [music] [music] >> So, you're telling me Micro Cuts gets to make it on the album, but this doesn't?
Citizen Erased, Micro Cuts, and Screen Aager are on the album, and this isn't interesting. [music] They come to your hands.
Come on.
[music] Oh, [music] [music] [music] it genuinely does.
>> [music] >> Heat.
HEAT.
[music] >> [music] [music] [music] >> I don't know if this instrumental is all that like necessary for the experience of the track if I'm being honest. Feels like it could have been cut down a little bit, but besides that, felt great.
[music] [music] Yeah, feel like a solid eight on this song. Uh, this could have even been a single. Yeah, the fact that Micro Cuts and Screen Aaganger make it onto the album and this doesn't is uh a a [ __ ] travesty. Who the [ __ ] is Travis? Shut up. Um yeah, this this is just a genuinely really solid rock track. Great riffing. Maybe a bit of an overly extended instrumental that wasn't all that necessarily but necessarily all that necessary. Uh but besides that, this song just goes hard.
This did influence hysteria.
>> Uh, which helps hysteria? Is it absolution?
>> Yeah.
Should have included this. Yeah. M has a lot of insane bides from their early records. They released a compilation right around this time that's really solid and more raw sounding.
Yeah, it should have been on the album, dude. This is like better than at least like six of the songs on the album.
This This would probably actually I think make what maybe top four. Looking at my scores here, this would this would be my fourth favorite song on the album if it was actually included. But it wasn't.
So it gets the album gets a thumbs down and a zero now. I'm joking obviously.
Yeah. Look at that. I enjoyed a music album. And if this does well as a video, if this does well as a video, okay, all you people from the from the Muse Reddit, you can tell people that I'm I'm not a Fantano clone now.
May maybe they'll forgive me. This I know this isn't the most positive reaction on the planet, but why are they even called Muse?
Pause his head now. No, I'm going to bed, dude. I've been up since 6:30 a.m.
and I'm tired. So, I'll go to bed.
Current video went [ __ ] hell. I forgot I was meant to do that. Yeah.
Someday when I'm not so booked up cuz they are music. Exactly.
All right, that's it for me. That's it for me. Thank you guys for being here.
Uh Rev, Ryan K, O CSA, Midnight, uh Memestermind, that's a goated name. Uh, Rodomar, I think I already said Rodomar.
Jeffrey, who else? Who else? The Black Star, everyone who was here as well.
Thank you all so much for being here. I will be back tomorrow with a new music stream covering some new albums and [ __ ] Probably get this video out on Sunday.
We'll see. We'll see. Yeah, that's it for me. And if um what time tomorrow? Probably 1 probably 1:00. I'm going to aim to start. And remember, if this video does well, I'll do more Muse albums. So, you know, you got you gotta make sure uh you got to make sure that you you you share this video with everyone when it when it gets released, okay? And then I will cover more of your favorite band.
Yeah, that's it for me. I'll see you guys later.
