Yeah.
Screen lights up and the chat rolls in.
Stores fly and the night begins.
Some talk steak, some talk life, some just trying to get it right.
Names on screen, but it feels real close.
Laughing easy like we're all on the porch.
Different roses, but we meet right here.
Pull up a chair, we're already there.
Target prime rib. Come on in. Riblet gather. Let the talk begin. Laugh a little. Say what it is. Ain't no pressure here in this carnival keto.
However you roll. We're just talking live and feeding the soul. Ain't about perfect. Just where you're at. We're all hanging out chewing the fat.
Come on back.
Chewing the fat.
>> Hey fellow riblets. It's me Tom from Target Prime Rib. How you guys doing today? I'm here with our special guest, Coach Laura from Laura Loving Life Carnivore. How you doing, Laura?
>> I'm good, Thomas. I loved that intro.
What a great song that is.
>> Yep. That was >> over here dancing a little bit.
>> Yeah, I saw that. I saw that. So, the first person I want to actually say hello to is and I want to welcome her for as a member of one of the ribblelets. So, Kathy B here just bought a membership. So, thank you Kathy for um joining the group and um hopefully I do good enough content that you that you don't regret it. So, um, we have Kathy here. We also have Linda Flanigan is also in the in the chats. Uh, Brides Biscuit, he's also in the chats. Uh, we have Linda McDaniels. Um, she's also in the chats. We have Paul Salvater. Um, he is here. Hey Paul, how you doing? We have Don Stronger. I actually met Don in Boston. So, hey Don. We got Terry B333.
Teresa, how you doing? And you can't every you know this person. We got Miniawa here in the chats.
>> Hey Minwa, >> you can't deny Minua.
And then we got Steadfast. Uh we got Sharon in the chats as well. Now I'm sure more people will join. Right now it's just 12, but um usually Oh, Freethinker just joined. Uh usually it goes to about um about 30 35. So we got we got Bob Wright is here now. I will.
Mini wall is actually in your channel right now.
>> Oh, okay. Might be the only one watching on my channel.
>> So, I can actually tell you who's actually in in which thing. Um, you know, we are also on Instagram, too. So, that doesn't usually give us too much, but I always like to have a little extra. Sometimes I might see somebody from my family or my past might actually see it. So, never.
Who >> knows? Maybe one of my grandkids will see it.
>> Maybe. I mean, >> you you and me follow each other, right?
So, that's it's always possible. You know, >> I just don't know if my grandkids follow me.
>> And I don't expect them to. I always laugh because when I do get some kind of a they're like, "Graham, I saw you on Instagram again." And I'm like, "Well, what' you think?" I get no response.
>> Right. Like, yeah. My my family says that they follow me, but you know, I never see them do any kind of comments in the chats or anything like that. So, I I say like worse things about my sister just so I can see if she's going to say anything.
>> See if we get a reaction, huh?
>> Good idea.
>> So, hey, Erin Booby Goats is here. So, yeah. Have you ever seen Booby Goats or No.
>> No. Uhuh.
>> Oh, no. She's She has She has 10 kids.
>> Wow.
>> And I'm not I'm not talking about goats.
Actual kids.
>> Yeah.
>> And um Yeah. She just And Larry Ryan just joined us. Hey, Larry. I think Larry's in our group, right? Or no.
>> I don't remember Larry.
>> Out of the three groups, I always get confused on who's in which group, you know, sometimes.
>> Well, and I trust me with all the ones that are in SVG, I don't know everybody.
But Larry is not a name I remember seeing.
>> Yeah.
>> In the chats and that.
>> Yeah. He might be in K. He might be in KMT. He might be with Kils.
So >> that's what happens when you have multiple platforms hang Larry.
>> I'm sorry. What?
>> Uh talking to Larry, too.
>> Oh, okay.
>> Yeah. That's the only way I can actually get them to answer a question is to ask him >> specifically.
Uh, so I hear background, nothing bad. I just hear a little bit of background music. Is there is somebody >> You know what? I live I I live here in East Tennessee and I'm not from here.
I'm from Chicago originally. I live above four churches. So I live in very hilly country.
>> Um, and I live right above four churches. And one of those churches plays the hour on the hour from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. And they also play four bell songs after they ring the hour. So this goes on every day of the week except Sunday. On Sunday they just do I believe it's like 11:15 to noon.
Yeah. You know what? It's funny that you say that you can hear it because I've asked many times I a lot of times I do um the the chats and the meetings from my little I have a really cute little screen porch and I face an entire tree line. So all I have is all this beautiful green and sunshine.
>> Oh god.
>> And um and it's and it's so nice to sit out there when the weather's good. But the bells are going off at eight minutes to the hour until 10 minutes after the hour all day long. And on a regular Zoom call, it actually silences it. Um I've been told by the other um SVG team that nobody ever hears it. So I'm really surprised that you were able to pick that up. So it must not do it as well on StreamYard, but it's done now for >> Well, I I might have very good hearing.
>> There you go. That could be too.
Honestly, it makes me insane and I don't think they should be allowed to do it.
Sorry any of you that churchgoers out there that believe that bells should ring every day all day long.
Um but I personally because I live right on top of this >> bell tower.
>> Um I find it to be just a little bit too much noise pollution for me. I don't mind them ringing.
>> I'm sure even the even the churchgoers would be kind of like okay I love it but it's a little excessive. It it is and and and we hear it the most because we are the neighborhood that's right on top of that, right?
>> Um so anyway, it was kind of lovely to hear when I first moved in, but I didn't realize it was a daily >> a daily thing for how many hours a day?
>> It's like it's like that person that loves trains and hears the train like lives right next to our train station.
You hear the trains all the time. After a while, even that guy is going to be like, >> "Oh my god, I need sleep."
>> I just feel like it should it's just a little intrusive. I feel. But um I actually I'll I'll tell you a little story. I emailed the pastor of the church and surprisingly I did not get a response. And I sent him a very polite email explaining that I felt it was a bit excessive. Could they maybe cut it to one bell song every hour, not three?
Um and and and there's only so many bell songs out there. So it's very repetitive, too.
>> Yeah. So, um, but I'm afraid if I write and say something about that again, they might decide they should design some more bell songs. So, anyway, >> sometimes when you like email somebody, sometimes the person you think is the person to email isn't always that person, you know, like like when I first did, I tried my best to get Bella to come on, you know, like just I emailed and emailed her and just no response.
And finally, I emailed Lindy and that's how I got Bella on my channel. Same thing with Dr. Kils. Like I emailed Dr. Kilts. I even I even texted him >> and I didn't really get anything. And then finally Ally was like, "You need to you need to email me, >> right?"
>> You know, and um so sometimes maybe it's not the pastor you need to talk to, maybe it's like his like secretary or something like, >> "Okay, I I'll add to the story. One day at pickle ball, I met a couple who uh this is probably the first year I lived here and I met a couple in the next courts and they mentioned they were new there and and of course one of the first things everybody asks you here is what church do you attend?
Um so they said something about this church and I said, "Oh, do you know do you know the pastor?" And they said, "Oh yes, we do." And I said, "Okay, let me ask you a question." And so I went into my little spiel about the bells and she looked at me and I still to this day don't know if she was joking.
She just looked at me and said, "You are going to turn into a pillar of salt."
And she and that was it. And I'm like, "Okay." Uh, so like did she mean that funny? Did she mean that like, "Yes, you are because you are just such a heathen that you don't want to listen to these bells." Anyway, I don't know. But I'm just like, "Oh, well, okay. Thank you."
and I went back to my pickle ball game.
So, um, so I have never looked up the reference of turning into a pillar of salt, but I would judge from being raised as a good Catholic child that it's probably not a good thing.
And but again, I don't know if she was just being funny, but she didn't when I I said, "Okay." And I walked away and she didn't say, "Hey, I was just kidding."
So, I'm thinking she meant it. Um, so you got to be a little careful if you are not and there's a lot of church good churchgoing folks here. That's all I can tell you. So you got to be a little bit careful I guess about what you say. So and you know I I love to attend their Christmas concerts. I love I've gone to other things at their um their lovely church, but I don't want to listen to those dang bells all day long every day.
So anyway, that's just me.
So, we got a few more people that have joined us.
>> Okay.
>> Um, let me see. So, we got, have you ever heard of um, Rick Charger Mopar?
>> No.
>> Diaguana.
Um, okay.
>> I'm kind of looking at the names as they were scrolling through here.
>> He's been he's been carnivore for 42 years.
>> Oh, he he should he should come out to Meatstock so he can like blast that out to everybody because >> Well, he went he went to Hack Your Health and >> Okay.
>> Yeah. So he which I'm going to I'm trying to go to for this year. So >> Okay.
>> You know like I bought the tickets but I just I have to make sure I have enough money for the travel and stuff.
>> Okay. He'll have to look for me because I'll be at meet I'll be at Hack Your Health as well.
>> And you'll look for me.
>> Yeah definitely.
>> Um and then we have >> talk before then and know that we're going that you're going.
>> And then Danny in Boston is here. Also Spanky is here. Um, Spanky Golf Act, which I wonder what he's an addict of.
And then we got Smoothie here. And we got one of my moderators, just Jerry.
Jerry Griggs is here. Um, Patricia Butler is also here. I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but Bob Wright is here. Um, we got Tammy um, Pitterich, Pit Arch, I'm sorry. And then, um, we got Jify here. I'm just scrolling up. We got Jabber Jen, which is another um one of my moderators.
>> I just saw that popping.
>> And then that's it. So far, we got 30 people in the chat so far.
>> Nice. That's >> Did you want to have some people to talk to? So, >> yeah. No, no problem.
>> So, >> yeah, this is uh interesting because it's usually when I do an interview, it's just an interview. We're done in about an hour. Um, and I haven't been I've been on Todd's live uh once or twice um in the early early stages of SVG just I'm like, "Yeah, I'm available.
I'll come on and hang out with you, Todd." And um who else is uh >> I'm trying to I'm trying to get Todd on here, but you know, it's >> busy. He's a busy man.
>> He's so busy. He's so busy. And then, of course, he takes on things like our >> Boseman Yep.
>> I'm going to keep on trying because he's he's a he's a pretty big gahuna.
>> Oh, he is. And he's got such an amazing story.
>> Yeah.
>> Um >> Yeah. And Dr. Phil, I know Dr. Phil said he would be on, but we every time I try to schedule with him, there's always a because my my things, you know, this is the this is the issue and I think you learn this you learn this as well. Um I have it far out. Yes. But the thing is is a lot of people want to wait until we get closer to the thing. Well, I'm still filling.
So even if I have it out till August, if you don't schedule on the earliest time, right?
>> It could be November >> next time you schedule.
>> So you're just going to keep on going and then that that reason's always going to be there because it's going to be like, "Oh, well, this is too soon," >> you know, >> right? and you're better off scheduling it. And then when you get closer, if you need to reschedu or cancel, hopefully reschedule, then you can do that, you know.
>> Well, I was glad I got the day before Mother's Day because I think that's a good day for me to be here. And I know somebody else had to cancel and that's how I got popped in because I think I was actually after I returned from Italy in June originally.
>> Yeah. I mean, I get cancellations all the time, so I'm not sure who who the cancellation was, but um you know, because that's the way it is, you know. I mean, that's just life. But I'm actually scheduled I just I just scheduled on my latest one August 22nd with a guy named uh Lion Lion's Dan, like instead of Lion's Den, Lion's Dan carnivore podcast.
>> Okay. So, that's the name of his channel. So, um you know, he actually did he actually did a live yesterday with Lewis Latito and um they actually went to one of the Brazilian steakous together >> and they actually did the live together at the restaurant.
>> Okay. Oh, really?
>> Yeah.
>> That must have been a little noisy.
I think they had noise but um so mean you everybody's saying hi to people. Um >> yeah I'm watching the the I've got like a part of the screen I can see in the school so I'm seeing everybody's conversing with each other. That's so often we do when we get on these things.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Um I mean technically, you know, it's really just you and me talking, but they're here too and we talk with them as well >> and they're Yeah. And they're all chatting with each other. That's nice when they know each other from another community or another uh live. That's >> together. I mean, we >> And how often do you do your lives?
>> Twice a week.
>> Twice a week. Okay.
>> Yeah. Wednesday and Saturday. Yeah. So, I'll do another one on this Wednesday.
And that guest is going to be David Reid, which I I saw through Facebook.
So, >> that name sounds familiar.
>> Yeah. I think I've met him at maybe one of the healing humanities.
>> Okay. Okay. Well, you know, definitely join and not join, but you know what I mean. Go in the chats.
>> Yeah.
So >> yeah, either that or um I'm trying to think through one of the maybe car I'm not on a lot of the Facebook communities, but um there's a couple of them and I I again even if they pop up and say, you know, like oh this posted or this posted a lot of times I don't see it just because I don't always go into I try to maintain a certain amount of um social media limits for the week. I don't want to be on a screen all the time. So, um, and I, you know, with just keeping up with the SVG calls that I help out on, that has put a lot more screen time in. Um, so I I don't go on tons of these things, but that name sounds really familiar and I've either met him or he's been on one of these community uh sites that I keep seeing things posted for.
>> Okay. Yeah. No, he's been around. Um, so you know, he's obviously his story is about weight loss and stuff, I think. I mean, it's always more than that. Um, at least 90% of the time, you know, I mean, I always find it funny when people go to me and say, "Well, I have no story to tell, so I'm not going to like I don't agree with that, but you know, if you don't feel comfortable enough to come on, then that's you know, hopefully when you do feel comfortable and you realize that you have more to contribute, then you know, you're more than welcome to come on here."
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I think everybody, they just need to recognize the the little things that have healed, the little things that have changed for them. You know, everyone's so focused on weight loss. Um, but gosh, there's so many other things that come too. I know, you know, and and re realistically, I came I started this for weight loss because I had already been doing something else and got myself into a different kind of a situation and that's how I found carnivore. Um, but the little things that changed like allergy issues and uh medications I no longer had to take and uh you know just you know thinking I was going to have to have knee surgery think and recognize what has taken place that might not be they might not have had that body composition they want yet. They might not have had the weight loss or maybe they've had both. But that shouldn't be the only focus because there's so many more things that take place, little nuance things that you have to recognize.
>> Yeah. No, that's absolutely true. That's absolutely true. So, um we already got our first question in. So, normally I start and then do but um it's Minua. So, she's asking you a question. So, we'll um what we'll do is we'll answer that question and then um we'll Oh, I got two questions. All right. We'll answer both questions and then um and then after that I'll pin them um because I'll have you start telling your story. Um because I know you like I you know, you probably don't have the full two hours. So, I um which that's what I'm guessing.
um and we'll go from there. All right.
So the first question from Minua is how did you find out carnivore and spg?
>> Okay. Well, I had started um looking I I had changed my diet to kind of a ketoore. So meattheavy, little bit of vegetable and um ended up doing some um keto desserts.
found some keto influencers and I started making some of their keto desserts because this was right coming up on the holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and um I went from someone who really didn't like I shouldn't say didn't like didn't could care less about sweets. Did I like something sweet every now and then? Yes, I did. But it wasn't my all prevailing that's my that's my jam. I want I was a a big salty person. I liked um potato chips and crackers and dips and savory things. Um so I was making these keto desserts and ended up and these are all made with mind you no sugar good for you supposedly good for you low glycemic natural sweeteners that are supposed to be so much better for you than sugar.
And um I ended up being someone who could have cared less about sweets to someone who couldn't think about anything but and this happened in such a short period of time. I just didn't know it's like how did this happen? So um I was watching different people on YouTube and it was funny because I I'm a member of Steak and Butter Gang. We'll we'll tell that right away uh in case you didn't know that. And um that's who I found. So through Ken Barry interviewing Bella um she talked about their priming protocol on SPG steak and butter gang and that this should get rid of all your cravings. And so uh because I was someone who was now, like I said, couldn't think about anything but how I was going to get that next hit of something that tasted sweet to me, um I thought I'm going to go listen to this channel. And it's kind of funny because I really never listened. I I'd seen Bella's stuff come up, but I had never listened to anything because I thought it was such a goofy name, Steak and Buttergal.
And then she'd talk about Steak and Butter Guy, and I'd be like, "Doesn't the man have a name?" I mean, this is stuff I'm thinking.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Yeah. And so I was I never had listened to her stuff. Uh I couldn't imagine what this young Asian chick would have to tell me that I would want to know about.
So anyway, after I saw her interview with Ken Barry, and that was a very early interview um for her and I was like, "Wow, she's pretty impressive."
You know, uh you just saw so much more than you realized with the name Steak and Butter Gal. And uh I went on to their priming or their priming and fasting kickoff and it was a a January 4th, 2022. And after I listened to what they said, I thought, well, what do I have to lose here? For $30 a month, what do I have to lose? And so, um, I I dove in and I had great success with it. And those sugar cravings or sweetener cravings were gone within five days and they've never come back. So, I undid with steak and butter gang and the priming protocol and carnivore. what um you know I didn't think I'd be able to do. So um and I've always been a person who liked meat anyway.
So it just seemed like such an interesting thing. I didn't know if I would really stick with it, but it's been four and a half years and I'm still here and I feel amazing. I feel better than I did in my 40s and 50s. Um I just I think this is the place to be. I think carnivore is the proper human diet. I I agree. Um and and I also agree too with the concept that I I think that if it was vegetables, I don't think I'd be as eager to join in the in the group as if it's steaks.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, um Yeah. I mean, I've always liked I've always liked steaks and stuff like that. Steaks and hamburgers and hot dogs, you I mean, at the time I I my I mean, I I just started being able to have hot dogs without anything without with just maybe a little mustard, but one time I had to have it with the bun, but now I don't anymore.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> But how I solve that problem is just don't eat the hot dog, you know?
>> Right.
>> You know, but now I think I can I can definitely do cheddar brought. Um but I'm starting to be able to do because one time my sister had hot dogs and I I was like, "Okay, fine. I'll have a hot dog, then I'll have it without the bun.
I was thinking like having with the bun, but then I'm like, nah, you know what?
I'll try without the bun, you know. So, next question from Uncle Charlie. Hey, Uncle Charlie, how we doing? What is her day of eating and how many times a day?
>> Okay, I am a two meal a day person.
However, if I am really hungry and I feel I need a third meal, I will have a third meal, but that's usually just not the case. Now, um there's that rare occasion when I just do one meal a day.
Uh and then because I've gone through the SPG protocol, 90-day protocol successfully, I also just kind of roll into fasts uh here and there. And you know, sometimes it's 36 hours, sometimes it's 48, sometimes it's 90 hours. It just depends on what my body wants. Um but definitely two meals a day. And people uh we get this so much in the community. People come in, then they say, "Well, I'm I'm an experienced OMAD person. I I only do one meal a day." And then my immediate thought is, "Then why are you here?" Because you're obviously here because there's a problem. And that's what case usually is. And most people that get into this one meal a day habit and especially eating carnivore because the meat and fat are so satiating, it's so easy to slip into that. um but you end up downregulating your metabolism almost every time and then that brings its own issues. So I really strongly advocate for at least two meals a day. Um and I was never a breakfast eater and again one of the things we teach in that protocol is to have your breakfast within an hour of getting up. Um and I fought that for the longest time. I do find now that I actually feel I do better in the long run if I give into that. And I don't do it all the time, but I'd say, you know, 80% 85% of the time I do try to get that first meal in, then I have my coffee after that as a dessert as we teach and then I go on with my day and it really works out well. And I was always especially I work out in the mornings.
Usually I'm either at spin or pickle ball or I I go and uh weight train. Um and I I was really adamant that I could never do that. I couldn't eat before I went and did that stuff. Um and now it it's just vas depends on what time I'm up. I mean if I don't wake up till 6 o'clock and I have to be ready to get out the door by quarter to 8, then I will skip the breakfast and have it when I come back. But most of the time I do try to get something in first thing in the morning. So, >> okay.
>> Hope that helps.
>> Yeah, that's pretty cool. Um, yeah. I mean, I was going to say something, but I just I had a brain freeze or brain fart, whatever you want to call it.
Oh, well, part of part of getting older, I guess, you know. Um, so >> tell me about it.
>> Yeah. So, Danny in Boston. Hey, Danny. I actually met her in Boston. So, which I had a feeling she was going to be in Boston since she's Danny in Boston.
>> Okay.
>> Um Laura, I've watched you on SPG Lives.
You you're in great shape. Do you eat in intuitively?
And do you limit how much you eat, i.e. protein, fat, and if so, how? Do you ever use a scale or not at all?
>> Okay. Um, thank you, Danny. I'm glad you recognized me. Um, I was just thinking about the lives. I thought, gosh, we haven't done a live in so long. Anyway, um, thank you also for the compliment.
Uh, I do eat pretty intuitively. Um, I don't really um track, but I do track at the same time, but I track sometimes because I'm trying to dial in that 2:1 fat ratio that they say is so much better for women. Um, and I I do a little, as you can see, it's got coach Laura in there.
Um, I do a little coaching for SPG. And that's something that even though one of the beauties of carnivore was that you didn't have to track uh and that was one of the things that drew me in at first too. Um because I had a lifetime history of dieting. Uh but I really hated having to track stuff and keep you know keep all this written down and whatever. So, um, but I do believe it's important for you to do it periodically just to make sure you are indeed getting enough protein and enough fat depending on what macros you're going for. You know, some people like men do better on a one, but women really do better on one and a half to one fat to protein or a 2:1 fat to protein. Um, so recently, uh, probably in the last couple months, I have started tracking and again, not religious about it, but when I'm paying attention to it, I really do make sure I track all my meals and um, trying to get up to that 2:1 ratio. Um, okay, I forgot about the last part. Do I use a scale? I do. Not all the time, but again, when I'm kind of watching the stuff or tracking, and I have one of those, and this is why I use it because it's a bio impedance scale. So, it gives you all of these different things. It tells you where your visceral fat supposedly is, where your body fat is, where your subcutaneous fat is, where your muscle mass is, and um I like to see those numbers. I'm a little bit of a numbers geek, so um I like to see those numbers.
So, if I am, let's say I'm decided for the next two weeks I'm tracking because I want to really dial in that 2:1 fat to protein, then I will kind of keep track on the scale of what's going on as well.
Um, so short answer is yes, I do a little bit of all those, but intuitive eating definitely. And I I feel with carnivore that becomes a natural thing. You you don't you're not running around looking for food all the time. You eat, you're satisfied, and then when it's time to eat again, that's when you start thinking about food. So, >> excellent. And Rick Charger Mopar just said he might I might be the only one who has who has to have three meals a day. Now, I don't think you're the only one that has to have three meals a day.
>> Yeah, definitely not. And honestly, if that's what you feel you need, your body's telling you something. And listen to your body. So there's nothing wrong with three meals a day. You may have a metabolism that just moves faster and needs that.
>> Yeah.
>> Um so definitely and you may also, you know, come to a time and I don't know how long you've been doing this, but you may come to a point where you suddenly realize I don't need those three meals anymore. Or if you even stop and think about it a little, you might realize that, yeah, maybe I don't need those.
But if you're doing great and you're where you want to be, >> I think Rick stores his food in his legs, in his calves.
I always joke about that with Bella.
It's like where does she put 2500 calories?
>> Oh my god. You know, she's so she's so thin, you know.
>> That girl has long legs. And that's I always joke about that. And I say, Bella, >> my grandpa used to say same thing for my brother-in-law.
>> Yeah.
>> You know. All right. So, let me see if there's any more starred.
All right. Uncle Char Oh, no. Spanky, I'm sorry, Spanky. You're not You don't look anything like Uncle Charlie. Um, so what is your go-to meat of choice? Pork, chicken, or beef?
>> Okay. Um, definitely beef. I I almost never eat chicken. I may have a rare meal of chicken thighs, but that probably happens at the most four to six times a year. Uh, pork. If it's pork belly, I love it. If it's anything else, pork, a pulled pork is okay, too. But again, it's not something I would regularly make. Uh, even pork belly, I have to have a taste for it and I will. It's like something suddenly flips and it's like, "Oh my god, all I can think about is pork belly." So, I'll go get a pork belly. I'll cut it because I buy the big one at Costco. I can't even fit it on the screen here. It's so big. Um, and I cut it into small pieces, freeze what I'm not going to use, and I'll cook just a section. And I'll have two or three days where that's what I want every morning. Pork belly and softboiled eggs.
It's like they go together in my head.
and and then and then that's it. I won't want it again for 6 months. So, I figure my body's asking for it. Um I usually do ribe eyes. Every now and then I'll flip to New York strip just because that's what I have a taste for. I love pana uh which is sirloin cap and I do it on the skewers like they do at the Brazilian steakous. Um let's see my other the other Oh, and brisket. I love brisket.
Um, so I kind of, you know, vary between those couple, but I also do lamb and I like lamb a lot. Um, so that that'll work its way in depending on what I can get in uh in lamb. And these uh lamb breast plates uh have been showing up all of a sudden at Aldi's and some other places. I know Todd buys them at his Walmart in Montana >> and they are freaking amazing. It's like pork belly but it's lamb. And they do have a rib in it, so you kind of have to work your way around that. But when you cook it, that's what it reminds me of is like eating a pork belly, but it's in lamb. And it's just so delicious. Um, so and now I'm currently in a big sardine kick. Uh, and that's because, uh, if any of you know who, um, >> Dr. Bos, >> no, not Dr. Well, Dr. Bos and the whole sardine thing. My son and I were just messaging about that because he's I just turned him on to sardines. him and his girlfriend recently and he was sharing his his jars of sardines they're eating this week. Um but uh Anita Breeze um >> Oh yeah. Okay.
>> Ketogenic woman.
>> Ketogenic woman. Thanks. I was going to say carnivore and I'm like no it's keto.
So ketogenic woman now but she her name is keto. Yeah, she still I know she's carnivore now, but she still goes by ketogenetic woman because that's, you know, where her start was and her followers know her.
Um, but she actually eats carnivore now, too. Uh, but she made these sardine waffles and I'm one of those people that I can eat sardines, but I have to really be in the mood for it. And, um, I kind of wanted to do one of these challenges.
And I was going to do three days of sardines and I couldn't even stand the thought of day two. And then someone told me about these carnivore or sardine waffles that she made. So I went and found her YouTube on it. I had all the stuff here for it. You need sardines, beef, gelatin, and a waffle maker. And that's pretty much it. And honest to God, they were so unbelievably good. I ended up instead of doing three days, I did nine days of sardines and got really good. I was watching my ketones because when I do something like that, it's because I want to see what those do. And you know about the ketones and uh anyway, so my key I finally got my ketones up and uh anyway, it was delicious. And so now that's probably what I'm going to have for dinner tonight, as a matter of fact, because I've got a half a jar waiting to be finished up.
>> Um you know, like I used to fast a lot.
Like I would f do 72-hour fasts or 48 hour fasts. And um I always felt better when I did them. But um with Dr. you know, as you know, I'm part of Dr. Phil's program. You know, me and Miniwa and you of course. And um he has just started. He said for me this week he wants me to do a 404 he wants me to do a level eight.
>> Okay.
>> Um the 40 44h hour fast, >> okay, >> during the week. So I'm I just ate my last meal today and I'll do that for tomorrow. And then my la my I won't eat again until 8 am on Monday. So um you know because I just finished a 32-hour one and he he's like well just do it just do a 44h hour one now.
>> Okay.
>> So >> So you did your 32-hour last week?
>> No, like just a couple days ago. Oh, just a couple days ago the information and he's like, "Yeah, just um you know, I I still want you to do I still want you to do a 40 44 hour fast. Do a level eight >> um this week." So, you know, and considering that the chart ends on Tuesday, I don't want to, you know, >> Well, that's I'm wondering if he wants to see how you do on it before we we wrap up the session, >> right?
>> So, I could see I'll do that. I mean, I'm working tomorrow for four hours, but I actually do better working when I'm, you know, like I I don't like I'm more clarifi I'm more clear. And it's in the beginning. I work tomorrow from 7 to 6 to oh, 7 to 11 and then um and then I work from 2 2 p.m. to 6 on on Monday, but I'll I'll have eaten my meal by Monday. So, >> okay.
>> I'm not really too worried about that.
>> Yeah. I always find Well, I don't know.
I came home from Meatstock on Tuesday a no Monday afternoon and I was I was a cabin mom to two cabins of uh VIP guests and there were about 70 people total and so I was doing breakfast before they went off headed off to the uh convention center. Um so I was getting up well if I was lucky to sleep till 5 am I was also sharing the room with three other women. So, um, just, you know, knowing that you had to be up, you had to do things, uh, you know, how other people sleep. I was awake a lot. Um, I was awake more than I was sleeping. So, when I got home Monday, I was totally exhausted. And, um, anyway, uh, I I did have I had some dehydrated beef that I had made before I left, and I got a handful of that out, ate that, and then that was basically it. I wasn't hungry and I ended up doing the 48 hour fast uh just because I was tired and food just didn't appeal to me I guess. So, um, so I broke that Wednesday at some point with some sardines, some w sardine waffles and sardine pate on them.
>> Seems to be my choice of the first meal I have after doing the long fast. But >> you know, because it was 48 hours, I knew I could um when I do something longer, I will break it with either bone broth or lightly cooked eggs, something.
>> Um, but >> I actually that's what I wanted. It was like, oh, that's all I could think about when when I knew it was going to break it at 40 for it was about 48 and a half hours because I got busy with something else. And then it's like, okay, what do I want? Yeah, I think I want sardines, which really kind of surprised me too, Thomas. It would be the last thing I would normally >> Yeah. Like I would just I I don't know if any fish would really be on my menu to the truth. even salmon or anything like that, you know.
>> And I love like I love sashami, you know, salmon and stuff.
>> Yeah. I always found like early in my carnivore journey, if I had salmon or any other kind of fish, I still had to have six ounces of steak to go with it.
Otherwise, it just wasn't satisfying.
So, and it's pretty much still that way.
I mean, sometimes I'll do salmon with a side of shrimp and just keep it all seafood. But um I usually will like when I cut when I buy uh I'll buy a ribeye roast at Costco and cut it myself and there's always one or two pieces that are just a little bit smaller. You know, you get an odd odd end or whatever. Keep those for my salmon steaks I call them.
So I can have a little steak with my salmon because you know it's good for you to have salmon occasionally. So >> So okay. So, I'm gonna actually go to some more starred questions. So, there was a comment before um from see if I can find it from Paul Salvater. He come he said like, "Oh, I guess he's just answering women's questions, >> but Paul I also answered Uncle Charlie and Spanky.
I don't think they're women." So, >> I was gonna say, "Yeah, she was the only woman that you would come up with besides Mini Wab." Mini W.
>> No, there's a few women, but it wasn't like like only only women. So, >> yeah.
>> I just thought that was >> You can ask. I'll see if I can answer a guy's question.
>> Well, it depends on the guy's question, I guess, right?
>> Yeah, I know.
>> So, Uncle Charlie, I stopped eat This is more of a statement than a question, but I stopped eating bacon. Now it's one pound grass-fed beef, Wagu, 75.25 at Costco. Two pieces of sausage, four eggs, four yolk, and butter.
>> Okay, >> sounds good. Sounds like breakfast.
>> I actually I don't know if you know this or not, um but I was actually in the hospital a couple days ago.
>> Oh, I didn't know again.
>> And um yeah, I had my my shoulders are hurting and um a couple people in the community um thought that it could be because I also had a Jose bad diet.
We're carnivore, so we can mention this.
I had really bad diarrhea and it wouldn't be a carnivore channel if we didn't mention at least once, you know, >> right? If you don't talk about poop at least once, it's not a carnivore channel.
>> And I had like really bad di, you know, diarrhea. My stomach, my my side, my whole right side was hurting. And like the the pain's now gone over to my left side. So if I waited just a day or two, then I would have realized it went over to the left side, too. which but usually if it's it has been indicated that um you know usually it will actually um be connected to the gallbladder and with with everything going on with me I I just felt like I needed to get it checked you know and I my next doctor's appointments in like five months so um I can't really wait that long to right >> to have that checked you know so I went and they did it they did a CAT scan and they took blood work ends up all according to the CAT scan all my organs are fine but it's a CAT scan so obviously they didn't go that deep into it the only thing the only thing they found was they did find a hernia um but it was like pretty much like small I guess you could say and they found like some some oh god some gallstones >> oh >> but they said that They weren't pressing against anything. They were just there.
He he said it's like it's in a situation where I could live forever and not have any problems. So, um, so he gave me like the number. He gave me somebody to call, which I'll call I'll probably call Tuesday because I am working on Monday.
So, I'd rather call when I'm off. But, um, and I'm supposed to find out about my about the new roommate on when she's going to be coming in. Um, what she's waiting on right now, she's waiting on her job. She can, she's moving in no matter what, but she's just waiting for her job to tell her um to help her out like to give for financial aid basically through the job for the down for the deposit and for the first month's rent. So, I mean, I don't blame her. So, she's just waiting to see if they approve it. And if they don't, she's still going to be moving in. they do then you know but um so yeah so I went there and so they gave me all that information gastrologist all that stuff but ended up not being that and then a couple days later it went over to the left side so I'm like okay maybe it's not that then so I'm thinking it might be just a bad pillow you know like just bad sleeping so I got new pillows and stuff so like that just just kind of upgrading a little bit just you know what I can do for minimal amount you know and um you know just doing but um I think the stomach ache might have just been like you had like it might have been just a really bad cold and just settled in my stomach and everything just happened all in one shot just seemed like the same thing >> you know like like all the symptoms together meant one thing but I think they're all different different occurrences >> so are you still having the left side pain now >> um not this second no >> okay but I mean it's kind of continued at the same level or has it changed?
>> I had I had it about an hour ago, two hours ago. Um, but >> do you think do you think you could be oxalate dumping?
>> I I have I've been drinking um tea. So, >> okay. But it didn't relieve it right right away. And you're making the tea strong enough.
It's not just like one tea bag dipped in five times like people do. You You got to make it a stronger solution of tea.
And >> I'll try doubling it up. Yeah. I was gonna say use two or three tea bags and really >> how I make my This is how I make my tea.
I actually have a thing in my in my cups.
It's like a um a special thing you put in for like if you want to actually use um fresh like you don't have to use the pods.
>> Okay.
>> It has a filter in it and you can actually use regular coffee.
>> Okay.
>> Well, I what I do is I just put the tea bags in that and then it just drains right out so I don't get the tea bags, you know. So, I could just put two tea bags in that thing and it would just drain out and then I instantly get the hot hot water and stuff like that because I don't have actually have a teapot.
>> You know, that's still a really fast steep though, Thomas. Honestly, do it the oldfashioned way and let those bags sit in the water for a good five minutes.
>> Okay.
>> And and see if that doesn't help. See if it doesn't make a difference. Sometimes >> sometimes you you'd be amazed to find out what's oxalent dumping and >> and then just dip the tea bags in. So, I could >> Yeah. Yeah. Either way, I mean, you can even just have the hot water come through and >> That's what I meant. Yeah, that's what I meant. I can just have the hot water come through. That way, it's hot >> and you know, because Yeah. I'm not I have to figure out where I put the teapot. I do have a teapot. I just don't have it exact.
>> Yeah. No, just even you put the tea bags in your cup and pour that hot water and let them steep for a good five minutes.
Solid five minutes, maybe even seven.
And then it's going to make a much stronger solution.
uh of the tea and I think that usually works a little better than just standard, you know, run it through the hot water and then try to drink it. So, um but you never know. I know Todd uh had an issue. Well, I found out about it because I was talking happened to be talking to Coach Alyssa and mentioned that I was having these weird pains that were just coming out of nowhere shooting down the fronts of my thighs. And at the same but at the same time I'd been having an issue with my back.
>> But it was like all of a sudden it goes from in my back in the low back to these crazy pains out of just nowhere. And so she had mentioned that Todd had something similar one time and he happened to have called her and mentioned it and she said, "Stop at the next cuz he was driving from Montana to Arizona and she said, "Stop at the next truck stop or whatever and get some make some make a really strong cup of tea."
And sure enough, and he he was having these pains in his arms and he was trying to drive. Um, and it helped him.
So after she mentioned that, I did that and it really did seem to make a difference. So I continued it for 2 or 3 days and those pains were gone and never came back. So whatever was going on in the back was one thing, but it just so happened that this came along and then I thought it was like another symptom of whatever was happening in my back, but it made no sense. So it really um it really did u make a difference.
>> So I would try that just to see because you never know. It might be one thing happening and then these other things are coming along at the same time and it's >> asking why tea.
>> Okay. Um because tea has oxalates. It's green tea or black tea. Um tea has oxalates. And so what it's doing is slowing down by putting if you're eating carnivore, you're not getting oxalates from anything. So when you are oxalate dumping, if you have some tea, it helps to slow down those symptoms and that oxalate dumping so it's not as painful because oxalates are like little glass shards that are in your organs, in your muscles, in your body. And so when they when they fully dump, it's a painful um I I when I first went carnivore, I actually got them in my eyes and I was like, "What the heck?" I thought I had conjunctivitis or whatever they call it.
But it was like it wasn't the same. My eyes weren't red. They just I was like, "What is all this goop coming out?" And sure enough, it was crystals coming out.
And and we hear this all the time. So, um this slows down the oxalate dumping so that it um it's just not as as painful and it's a more gentle process.
You'll still dump the oxalates, but you're not going to have um a painful experience with it. They also recommend that you take the juice of a half a lemon and mix that with some water and take that because it kind of helps to bind the oxalates. And if you are really having a huge issue with heavy oxalate dumping, the next step would to be get some eggshell calcium powder. They sell it as a dog product on Amazon.
>> What they sell as a dog product?
>> Well, yeah. There's so many things that we use that they're dog and cat. Is it raw milk like sold only for the animals?
>> I'll tell you what, that's another story. Anyway, um but you mix that lemon juice and water with this calcium powder and that helps bind the oxalates so they move through your system faster and easier and they don't irritate anything else on the way out. Sorry, I must have a hair there or something. It feels like there's a spider crawling on.
>> I'm always itching. I'm always itching.
>> Yeah, though this is just like what is going on? I can still >> Well, no. I'm just saying have him with me all the time.
>> Oh, that's true. I've got one upstairs and actually they're both upstairs, but one broke. I've got one like that somewhere, too.
>> You know, I found out I found out a lot of people with neuropathy actually itch a lot.
>> Okay.
>> The nerves are like, you know, doing doing whatever they're doing. And, you know, that's why you're always like feeling like you have to itch. So, whenever I like like when I go to the hospital and stuff like that, I like always bring bring it with me. Yeah, it's good to have it when you have the I have a spot in my back that honestly since I was probably 10 has been there and um it just itches. There's nothing there. I've had it looked at. It just constantly itches. So, I figure it's got to be, you know, a nerve that's been messed up for many years because 10 it's been a long time I've had that itch.
>> So, we got a few comments um in the chat. So, I'll show them real quick. Um Tammy uh Pit Arch um says, "Going on almost four years carnivorous. I am continuing to learn what works for me.
There have been ups and downs, which I can attest to, Tammy. Um it's a learning process." Yes, >> absolutely. Definitely. Good for you, Tammy.
>> One thing I did learn is, you know, you go through the ups and downs, you know. And then Rick says, "Everyone is a VIP at Quick Quackstock."
Yes, Rick. And I can't wait for you to start that up and for us to go to.
>> And what's quackstock?
>> Quackstock is like meat stock, but it's it's it's done by it's done by Rick and it's with Muscovi duck and iguana.
>> Oh, okay. I I love duck eggs, Rick.
>> And I do believe they come from the Muscoi ducks usually, too.
>> And then we have Minwa. I'm looking forward to my 72-hour fast. Okay, Miniwa, put in the comments when do you start it. I thought you were starting it today.
>> Oh, no. You're doing three days first, aren't you?
>> Right. Well, that is 72 hours.
>> Three days and then going into No, I mean doing three days of of eating regular and then >> Oh, yeah.
>> If I remember from the call yesterday.
No. So, don't worry about it, honey.
>> I missed the call yesterday. Um, >> did you forget?
>> No.
>> Just were you working?
>> I just >> Yeah, I was working. Yes, I work.
>> I figured you were working.
>> Yeah.
>> So, for those of you who are here, I um I sit in as I I call myself the fly on the wall of the insulin resistant intensive, which is a special premium program we were doing through SVG, and Thomas is one of the participants, as is Minwa. Um there were 13 um people that were working in this uh 17week session.
So, um somebody once said something about, "Oh, and you do that." And I said, "Listen, all I do is sit there and ask questions occasionally and listen to what Phil says. I'm learning just like the rest of them." Um because our Dr. Phil is the one who put this program together and he has um had amazing success with uh pretty much everybody who's been in the group um with some ups and downs. Uh but when you're dealing with diabetes and insulin, you're going to have that. So >> yeah, I mean I'm still trucking but you know.
>> Um >> so the last last statement >> and yes I agree Thomas. I think that stress is a major issue for aches, pains and sickness and anxiety.
>> Yes, I agree with that.
>> Yeah, >> as always, Tammy.
Oh, and we'll just show this right away.
Tomorrow round two, me and Danielle are doing it together. Okay.
>> It will be done on Wednesday at two.
Well, >> okay. All right. Well, good luck, girl.
>> Yeah. And I know you can do it.
>> Yeah, absolutely.
>> I have no doubt they'll be able to do it, too. And they're so excited about it. They They just have to.
>> We just had John Get together strong just joined us.
>> Yeah. And Lauren John Lauren really liked the video that you made for me.
So, he used to he used to make >> Oh, yeah. John. Yeah. What a great song.
Awesome.
>> Yep. He made the song and the video. So, um, and you know who the character was in the beginning, right? Todd Lindy.
Have you ever seen that story or No.
>> No. I was wondering why you had Todd Lindy on your >> So, when I So, when I first started in the in the, you know, on my channel and stuff like that and started with SBG, I came up with this guy.
>> Okay.
>> In the beginning. And he was just basically just, you know, he's a stress ball, >> you know, and um I don't know what made me do it, but I I I'm like, "Yeah, this guy has a name." And I name I named him Todd Lindy because I'm looking right at Todd and Lind.
>> Okay.
>> And he's named after Todd Bachnes and Limous Lindy. And um I just was like, "How can I name it after both?" So I just was like, "Todd Lindy sounds perfect." So that's Todd Lindy.
>> I wondered what that was. I'm thinking Todd Lindy on his shirt. What's that mean? I mean, I know who they are, but um and or I should say I know where the where the idea came from, but I didn't know what that was. Oh, thanks for letting me know that then.
>> Let me let me see if I have Oh, you know what? I might need to No, I don't have my keys with me, so never mind. Never mind. I was going to show you something, but I don't think I have it. Um it's in another drive. And um but I made this thing for Todd. I don't know if you've ever seen it or not, but um I I make fun of him because one time when we were in the chats, I don't know. I know when I first started, I don't you were >> I don't know if you were there, but I don't remember you in the beginning.
>> You know what? I just really came back I came on board as a team member uh probably May of last year. Um I I've always stayed in SBG, >> but I wasn't coming on a lot of the calls or that. I would every now and then pop in just to see, you know, what they were talking about, if anything was new in that sense. But honestly, uh, for about two years there, I was probably on maybe a handful of times every year.
>> And then, um, Bella came on that cruise with us last year, uh, that Lisa Weedman gave them that cruise as their uh, wedding gift. So, they came on that cruise with the first Carb Sober cruise.
And it was after that or on the cruise that Bella talked to me and said, you know, why don't you come and be uh take a bigger role, you know, come and be on the team, right? Be there.
>> That's around the time I came on. And so it hasn't been that long that you've seen me. So this was probably before that.
>> Yeah. I mean, because I think I started around I think Bella brought me not, you know, into the group. Um probably like I started around I my carnivor is January 1st.
So, I probably started about like two weeks, three weeks after that. And >> in 2025, >> oh, okay. I thought you'd been maybe there longer.
>> You're gonna hear the bells again.
>> It just feels It just feels that way.
>> Okay. It just feels that way.
>> Listen, it's a daily part of our life now, isn't it?
>> It's like It's like a marriage, you know? It's like we were married a lot longer than just two days. Really?
Oh, it's been a while since I've had that to make that comparison.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. So, um just looking in the chat and seeing if there's anything going on or anything. So, um anybody that is wondering what is pinned to the top. I didn't mention it before. um you know since Laura is so big with the um with the SPG and everything I thought we would put put in the membership um to be so if anybody wants to join SPG you can join and um there's no obligation but feel free you know I mean there you know and we're not going to like twist your arm or anything like that but it's there for you to be able to do >> but I will tell you as far as online communities go just the word community to begin with this is not an easy lifestyle choice to make and I'm sure all of you have met many people that you have gotten resistance from.
Unfortunately, a lot of people it's their life partner that they're getting the resistance from. Having community makes this so much easier to do. Um, I I was already widowed when I came into this, so I don't have anybody here fighting me on the idea or saying you're going to kill yourself or your cholesterol is going to go crazy. Um, but I also, you know, it's me. And then I on top of it, right as I did this, I moved from the Chicagoland area where I was born, bred, and raised to Tennessee to East Tennessee and knew nobody. I knew one person in the area, and that person was just an acquaintance. They were kind enough to show me this area u because that's where they were living and I had heard about it and um but aside from that I I moved knowing no one. My kids are still in Illinois, one's in Florida now. Um so I had to come here as a single person and immerse myself um in a community and try to meet people. And let's face it, I don't exactly they they have a lot of clubs here. They have a million clubs and a lot of the clubs are dinner club and restaurant club and Italian restaurant club and this and they everything revolves around food. So that obviously wasn't going to work for me either because how do you go into a dinner club and said, "Oh, by the way, I only eat meat." So when you come to my house, I'll still cook other things for you, but just make sure there's enough meat on hand for me. Half the time they're serving lasagna, so it's not something that's going to work. So anyway, community has been everything. Um, and even if it's just checking in a couple times a week. So anyway, that being said, um, I have tried quite a few other carnivore communities and platforms just because I was curious to see what they're talking about, what they do, how they do it. And honest to God, SBG is the best value for the money. It's $30 a month. Um, and you get different carnivore experts, different carnivore doctors, different carnivore coaches. You have open chat. Um, what do we have? Open chat five times a week, which is two hours every time. And it's just come in and talk to whoever's there that's from the team. Uh, there's always a coach there. Coach Alyssa runs it.
Sometimes Todd Bachnes is there.
>> Sometimes both.
>> Pardon?
>> Sometimes both.
>> Yeah, sometimes. Yeah. Uh it uh coach our coach Alyssa runs it but Todd comes in whenever he can. Um you have and then you have different calls throughout the week. Um there's a sugar and carb addiction call. There's um our NSV call which is such a fun thing. It's usually on Friday Saturday nights sometimes on Friday nights and that's just when people come on and it's an hour long and you share whatever little victories you had. And we were talking about this before we actually started the live. Um that sometimes people don't even recognize things that have changed for them on the carnivore lifestyle until they hear somebody else talk about it.
They'll forget about a neuropathy they had in their foot or they'll forget that they had had tenitis for the last three years because they're not having it anymore. So they don't even realize it's it's gone. Um I'm just crazy things.
Allergies. uh you don't have you don't react to allergens anymore. You've stopped taking certain medications. And I'm not talking about medication for type two diabetes. I'm talking about maybe it's your asthma medication or your allergy medication. But at this NSV's calls, people realize, wait a minute, I don't have that anymore.
Anyway, so that's always a fun thing to come on for. Um and then we have, you know, we have our priming call, we have our fasting call. So, you get a lot of bang for your 30 bucks is all I'm saying. And it's you don't have to do it forever, but if you're struggling at all, if you feel you need community, it's a great place to come to because there is so much variety. And some of our our carnivore influencers that come on are Sean Baker is on there every other month or so, Dr. Philip Ovedia who's a cardiothoracic surgeon. Um Dr. Dr. Tony Hampton, who's a uh obesity and um metabolic doctor from Chicago, Rebecca Hushman, which a lot of you probably know her name. Um she comes on and and uh and multiple others. We've got one coming on um who does uh lympademia and lympademia who's now coming back uh I think every other month or so too. Anyway, just great. And you you can ask questions of them. You can do it live on the call or if you can't be on the call, you can post it. Once they announce that this person is coming, you put your question in and they'll read your question and get an answer for you. And all this stuff is on playbacks except the open chat. It's the only thing that's not on playbacks. But you have the opportunity to go in as long as you are a member and watch all these playbacks. And if you join, let's say you join tomorrow, you can go back and watch playbacks till when they started. So, it's not like, oh, it's just the here and now. You've got this library of information there for you.
Um, dating back as far as they've been doing it. So, not that I meant this to become a plug, but that's how strongly I feel about how excellent of a community it is. And I'm sure Thomas can agree.
>> I mean, yeah, I do. I mean, I I agree that all three have benefits. And you know um you know it's you know it's like having like you know like well you know which steak do you like? Well I like all all types of steak. So, you know, it's um you know, a peripheral of everything, you know, but um yeah, so I I mean I I value SPG and I I value it even more because um you know, I don't know if you're aware or not, but because I know you came in later, but you know, I'm actually you know, like I'm an honorary member. So, um, which, you know, I talked with Alyssa about it and she had mentioned that they were it's like it's pretty much like it was like unanimous the vote to put me in >> because, um, what happened was I was actually in one of the chats and um, you know, like I'm asking this question to Dr. Phil and Paul, in case you're wondering, Dr. Phil is not the guy from, you know, TV. He's not a psychiatrist. He's an actual doctor. Um, retired doctor, >> retired medical physician. Yes.
>> Yeah. because I'm sure he does not want to have any patience.
Um, but he um, you know, so I'm in there and I and I I write in the chats and the question is like one of those questions like it ends abruptly so I have to continue it.
>> Okay.
>> So I had to continue like three or four times. So it's getting confusing. So I finally said, "Hey, you know, like would it be okay if I just emailed you guys?"
So I found the email and Lindy's like, "Yeah, just email me." and they gave me the email address and all that stuff.
And so I I just told my story. I I figure if I'm going to tell the ask the question, I might as well tell the whole story. So I told the story and then um and right after that, Lindy asked me if I if I'd be interested, you know, to be there for free. Well, I thought I I thought that it was only for the one month.
>> That was my, you know, like I'm like, "Yeah, sure. I'll see how it is. See, you know, see if I like it. if it's, you know, because I, you know, I can't always afford things, you know, so I was like, "Yeah, let me just check it out.
Why not?" You know, what's the worst that will happen, right?
>> Right.
>> And one day somebody asked me, they go, "Yeah, I'd like to pay for your membership um for SBG." Some guy like on my channel just like writes me um on there. And then Lindy suggests, she goes she goes to me, she goes, "Well, I don't understand why h why you would have to do that because you're here lifetime."
>> Okay. you didn't realize that's I didn't realize it was a lifetime membership.
Okay.
>> And then she and she suggested to buy me a coffee, showed me, you know, told me how to do it and so that's why I have buy me a coffee now.
>> Okay.
>> Um yeah. Um so I mean I get so I mean I and you know and everything, but you know I mean there's always going to be kickbacks.
Not everybody's going to want to do everything. You know, not everybody's going to want to join every group. not everybody's going to think this group is good or you know there's always going to be some kind of kickback you know like like I'm looking at char um Rick Charger Mopar and he he's not really into SPG but that's fine you know I mean he he he's on a budget and he just really can't afford the $30 that's why I'm guessing you know but he he he's part of kilts he's a big part of kilts and because kilts is free no matter what it's um that's just the way kilts is you know >> you know you Kilty.
>> I know Kily.
>> I' I've gone on some of his morning lives and that. Um >> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I mean, I'm actually supposed to be I'm I'm going to be on there a third time um being interviewed on the 21st.
So, and I've been on a few of his panels um and everything. I've I've only been on SPG panel once. Um but it wasn't really SPG. It was just with Todd and Li and and Lindy. And what happened was Todd had to leave. So Lindy's like, "Help me. I need people to come on here." So a few of us, Dr. Phil, Alyssa, and she asked me to come on. So I came on. So I was like, "Okay, >> if Lindy's asking for me, I'm gonna come on." So >> yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> That's great. I didn't realize that.
>> Yeah. That was a while ago. Um, >> yeah. I think John even came on. Cranky carniv uh Crank Cranky Carnivore Cutler also went on there that day.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah. So, it was a lot of fun and everything and I hoped I helped Lindy that day. So, I'm surprised I'm not seeing any of them here except for Minwa. So, I guess Minua is the SBG ambassador for the chat.
>> She is.
>> Yeah, >> she's missing open chat, too, because you realize open chat is on right now, too.
>> Yeah, >> she's missing open chat um to be here with us. I mean, thank you, Miniwa.
That's nice of you. Alyssa is supposed to know that I'm on now and that's not your fault or Minwa's fault. It's >> Yeah, >> just kidding. I'm just joking.
>> I It's funny because I almost uh messaged Alyssa at the start of this to say, "Listen, I'm doing a thing with Tom um with Thomas, so I'll be on when I'm done and then when you mentioned it's two hours," I thought, "Oh, well, I'll hang around for a while and we'll see see what you do here."
>> Yeah.
>> So, so how do you like it so far?
>> Yeah, it's great. It's great. Is it what is it what you expected or >> No, I really thought it was going to be an interview. I didn't realize it was going to be um like a live >> I don't know what else to call it.
>> I'm sorry. What?
>> I don't know really what else to call it because it's still one-on-one, you know.
>> Yeah, it's more it's it's more it's more like open chat though, really. Um you know, because we're we're waiting for some questions and we're just kind of chitchatting.
>> Well, I mean, it's a little different.
>> I didn't really have you tell your story. Um, but it seems like the questions are kind of bringing your story out.
>> That's Yeah, I kind of figured um that's why I mentioned the part I did and and real realistically that is that is the basis of my story anyway.
Um, you know, got into sugar addiction or sweetener addictions. Uh, found carnivore four and a half years later.
The only thing we haven't mentioned that usually comes out is my age. And um I'm going to be 72 in August. And I >> Wow.
>> For my age, I'm in pretty darn good shape, especially based on most people I know that are my age. Um not everyone, obviously. There's others, but um I I'm very active. I'm very energetic. I have better energy now at 71 years old than I had when I was in my 50s. Um, I lost 30 pounds.
I've had a lot of body recomposition.
Um, I was someone who worked out before carnivore and I probably had muscle but I was really bulky looking. Um, as well as being 30 pounds overweight. Um, so a Oh, thank you Danny.
Um, so aside from that, I mean that is kind of the basis. I've had uh let's see some of the fun things that have changed. I mentioned um there was a time when when I was in my honestly my early 50s and I thought I was going to have to have knee surgery and just uh knee replacement and just kept, you know, ignoring it, ignoring it. But then as my as my diet changed and I went to um carnivore, all that inflammation left my body and now I know my there's nothing wrong with my joints. They don't need replacement.
Um some other goofy things that happened. Oh um one of the first things that happened and probably within the first six months is my eyebrows and and sorry any guys who are offended by this, but we're going to talk about it. And this has this happens with men too. Uh, but ladies, my eyebrows were almost totally silver and white. And within six months of going carnivore, my natural color came back. And I wasn't super gray in my hair, but I had some gray. And that has really stopped, too. Um, I've had a lot of hair growth uh come back.
And it's funny because I I did kind of try to smooth it today, but the one thing that is kind of funny Yeah. Didn't work for Thomas yet. Um, uh, My hair is coming in curly. The like the new hair is all coming in curly. So, um I'm trying to think what other Oh, allergy issues. Um I So, for probably the last 15 years, I would have this thing in the morning where I would be coughing so hard. Some days I had to go throw up before I could go to work and it was just because of whatever this cough was. Well, once I stopped eating vegetables, that went away along with my allergy medication as and my asthma. I had a, you know, uh, an inhaler for seasonal a allergy issues. I have haven't had any of that. I rarely get sick anymore. Trying to think. Oh, I had spider veins on my lower calf on my left leg and those are all gone now. So, these are all little things that Oh, we should talk about some of the big stuff.
Osteopenia, osteoporosis. I was um and women know when they get these tests, they they uh test three different parts of your body, your spine, your hip, and um I forget what they maybe pelvic area um for that bone density. And I was osteopenia, osteopenia, and osteoporosis. And now I am normal in two of those areas and have slight osteopenia in one of them. Um what else can we talk about? Oh, my heart. I had had a CAC done. Um, my first one was probably 6 years ago and and I was maybe a 13, not a zero. And then I had it redone when I got here to Tennessee and uh in 2022 and I was up to 139 and um I haven't had that CAC repeated yet. Um I will do that this December again because it'll be exactly three years again. But I did have a CTA recently and it came back with everything looking really good. No, no plaque, any significant plaque or anything showing. And a CT CTA shows both calcified plaque and um soft plaque. And it it showed no significant anything. So I I'm really thinking that that CAC is going to come back better than it was even if it's not zero. And um I shared all this with Dr. Phil that Thomas had mentioned and um and he said you reversed your your you know coronary artery disease. Now again until I see it on paper showing that um they're not finding any of that I'll I'll hold that judgment for myself but you know I also put a lot of weight into what Dr. Phil says too. So So those are just some things that are benefits of being a four and a half year carnivore.
And most of those things took place within uh the two and a half year mark.
So you know things continue to improve but um I really started noticing changes like significant changes in um like even the bone density and that as as I hit a two and a half year mark which again Dr. Phil thinks is kind of a the golden period once you get past that two and a half years. also uh lipid panels and things, you know, I went crazy high like we do when you go carnivore, but then um around two and a half years, that stuff started to even out too because I know a lot of people get worried in the beginning uh because their LDL cholesterol goes up and they're freaking out. But don't freak out. Just keep doing it and you'll see that things do level out.
>> Another person said, "You look amazing."
>> Oh, thank you, Kathy. Thank you, hun.
It's Kathy B here. So, we have >> I'm sorry, what?
>> It's Kathy B here. So, we had to be here.
>> Oh, okay.
>> I didn't catch the whole name. I just caught the Kathy. So, um so yeah, thank you. And >> so, um question from um Brendan Bull. Um Laura, did you watch the healing humanity documentary at Meatstock? And if so, >> unfortunately, I was not able to. Um, we had originally been told that all the VIPs would have a chance to see it at the speaker cabin, but that was some miscommunication between the healing humanity people and um Scott who puts on Meatstock.
>> As it turned out, um, when they thought we'd be seeing at the cabins, um, that's when they were showing it at the convention center. And so I could have stayed at the convention center and watched it there. But unfortunately I had already promised people rides to different places they had to go because I had a car. I only live about an hour and a half from where they held meat stock this year. So I had a car and I was kind of uh doing a little bit of chauffeering stuff. So um I didn't have an opportunity to see it after all. So I'll I'll see it when it releases, you know, for everybody else. So unfortunately, no, Brandon, I did not. I wish I had. I heard it was really good.
Um people were very touched by it. So um I I have seen a lot of the um pre footage at the different Hack Your Health the last two years as they've been adding small clips. Um I've seen a lot of it. I I just think it's going to be incredibly impactful and um >> you're going to hear a lot more about carnivore after people start seeing this. I I yeah I think the awareness is growing and I think that will definitely help the awareness.
>> So um Miniawa, tell them how old you are medically.
>> Oh, Miniwa, you remember these things that I forget. Okay, so I did a DEXA scan uh the end of middle of February before I came back from Florida. I was in Florida. I have a place there. My mom's there and my youngest son. So I'd been there visiting and taking care of some stuff. And I I had this DEXA scan done in Tampa because I can't get it done here where I'm in Tennessee. And um so they have an app then you can load on your phone and you get those pictures and all the metrics that come from that Texas scan um on your app and then you can link that app to your Apple Watch uh data. And I do have an Apple Watch. It's not on right now, but I use it for activity tracking when I'm playing pickle ball, when I'm at the gym, uh when I'm at spin class, when I'm hiking, pretty much everything. Um and so when you allow it to have those metrics, it adds that in and then it gives you a biological age, not a chronological age.
And so, um as I mentioned, I will be 72 in August, but I have a biological age of 62.
So I always say carnivore is aging in reverse and I believe that's true. So >> I agree. Yeah. I don't know what I have to do with Dexicanan, but I'm sure I'm not 53 in my Dexican. I'm probably older, but you know, I'm I know I seem to complain a lot about like where I'm not, but I I'm actually very grateful for everything that's going on and I know it's a journey and everything. So I, you know, it's just sometimes you just kind of wish that certain things in that journey were were taking effect.
You know, like I've been fighting to get lower A1C for the longest time. And you know, when you hear when you hear people in the chats, not my chat, but other chats being like, well, I did it like in two months and I got my A1C from like this to this. You know, it's like, oh my god, shut up.
>> Yeah, I know. It's hard to hear that stuff. But it is it's different for everyone and it depends on how much healing your body's got to do. And and Thomas, you got a lot of healing.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, you know that.
>> Yeah, I do.
>> So, >> do you think what's happening right now, like I've been having a lot of issues lately. Um, depress, you know, like I'm feeling good right now, >> but just different stresses, different, you know, like it once I get this roommate in and once I start getting money and everything, it's good, you know. And I think I also really want to go to hack your health. No one really knows how badly I want to go because I want to meet a lot of people, Bella. A lot of people. And um it's just it's a vacation to me, you know, like I'm not going to just go to go. I'm going to go because it's the first time I'm going away for like a few days and um like first time in like over 20 years. And you know, I just it's just really important that I can afford it, you know, and I'm not going to be able to afford it without a roommate, you know, right now. all my pay and everything goes to paying my bills, you know, if I want to have electric in my house, I have to I had to choose that before I choose saving for the hack your health, you know, >> right?
>> And um you know, and everything. So, so when that kind of gets like kind of like put to like it's like, okay, this keeps on going further and further, I'm getting closer and closer. Am I going to be able to save the money for this? You know, you just kind of get this, >> you know, this worrying and everything.
But um and I know I'm a worry wart, but it's just part of my character, you know, like I try to I try to prevent things, but um it just doesn't always happen that way. So, it's all good, you know. Um but no, I mean, I just, you know, I I value everybody that is succeeding, you know. I think it's wonderful that people are succeeding, but you know, I just kind of wish which every time like Dr. Phil has me finally getting like I look at every time he has me like fasting longer, doing this or doing that, I look at his like, "Oh, okay. We're moving forward now. Okay, this is this is a good thing." So, I'm actually happy to do a 44-hour fast because it's like, "Okay, now we're moving forward." You know, we're not going back. Because in the beginning, he was like, "Well, we need to increase your insulin. We need to." And I'm thinking myself like, "Aren't I starting to get rid of the insulin? Why are we increasing it?"
>> What was going on with you? He knew it wasn't time yet. So that's >> Yeah. And I get that. Believe me, I get that. But at that time, you just automatically go into that thought process, you know, and um you know, like like four or five months later, you obviously you obviously figured it out.
But um you know, it's just, you know, it's just all these battles and stuff like that. But, you know, it's a journey and that's that's basically what carnivore is. You know, it's it's a journey. And for anybody that doesn't understand that, well, so be it. That's you. You know, that's not my problem. I'm I'm on this journey and I'm trying to get better and and sometimes I you know, like I have an old saying, sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you, >> right?
>> And um you know, which in a way is a perfect carnivore saying because it's a bear.
>> And and it's just you know, I got that from I got that from high school actually. It's like one of the um things that used to be said I I I don't know who said it but it was like um it was like through like stock through Wall Street. I think Wall Street says it also also another saying that they say is wherever the gorilla wants to sit meaning like you know whoever has the most money >> Yeah.
>> whatever they want to do they do.
>> You know >> the money or the power.
>> Yeah. And then my uncle used to say, "Bullshit walks." Money talks, walks. So >> yeah, I think you're right about the bear phrase. I think that did come from Wall Street.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Because I've heard it referenced there many times. So yeah.
>> Well, um Okay. So, well, there's no more questions. Um if you just hold on for a couple seconds, we'll we'll end a little early. So, you can go over to the, you know, so you and Mini one. I'll probably go over to um to there too as well um to the open chat. Um whatever's left over in there. And if you want to, you know, if you want to brag about today, that's up to you. Just kidding.
But um I'm going to end the chat and um so everybody thank you for coming and just remember live, love, heal, and for goodness sakes, I don't know how many times I have to say this to you guys.
Eat the meat. See you guys later.
>> Thanks for coming.
