[00:00:36]Looks like the hookup application sniffies might be getting some major coin thrown their way. earlier this week. Match Group, one of the largest online dating companies in the world, housing juggernaut dating apps such as Tinder, Hinge, OkCid, Match.com, and Plenty of Fish.

[00:00:57]The Match Group announced it would be investing $100 million into Sniffies, a gay dating/hookup platform geared toward nonheterero men.

[00:01:11]If you're living under a heterero rock or don't know what sniffies is, it's like Grounder's edgier low-key younger sibling. Each month, nearly 3 million users from around the world visit the site, sending 20 million messages from the app sent daily.

[00:01:31]While Sniffies is loved amongst its users who appreciate the app's private and underground vibe, it is it has faced its fair share of criticism. Last year, the app was removed from the Apple Store due to concerns over explicit adult content as some of its cruising style features were found to be in violation of Apple's guidelines.

[00:01:58]Blake Gallagher, the CEO of Sniffies, has now officially responded to the backlash from users who claim the investment will lead to straightification of the app.

Honey, people are right now having lawsuits, like huge lawsuits, multi-million dollar lawsuits with tens, dozens of complaints, honey, on video games, like Roblox because it's too explicit and it's leading kids down the wrong path. But I think a lot of y'all be forgetting that kids have access to places like Brder and Jacks and Sniffies as well.

[00:04:53]And for whatever reason, there are queer people supposedly. Keep in mind that a lot of the people who want to be on non- encrypted apps, honey, a lot of the queer people who want to be on these non- encrypted apps aren't even us.

[00:05:13]Honey, I want y'all to think about the fact that a lot of the DL folks have had a huge impact on our community when it comes to the sexualization of LGBTQ plus people.

[00:05:29]And I don't mean just DL guys. There are DL women, too, believe it or not.

[00:06:14]If it's something that LGBTQ plus people need more, it's love. It damn sure ain't hooking up and you can have all the opinions that you want.

[00:06:30]And when you are home by yourself and you thinking of some of your past exploitations, some of your past thoughts, some of the things that you might be currently doing right now, how you feel about it?

[00:06:54]Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm better than when I go through my moments because for me, I'm I've only ever been hypersexual during mental health episodes. And that says a lot.

But anyway, um, when I think back on on my times and my moments, they're they're not nothing I'm proud of. I don't necess I'm not ashamed of them anymore. At one at one time, I was ashamed of my hypo my hypersexual periods that I've had in my life.
