Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition characterized by involuntary movements and vocalizations that individuals cannot control; it is not a behavioral choice but a medical condition requiring understanding and accommodation, not punishment or police involvement.

British Airways lack of Tourettes AwarenessAdded:
Hello there, Tex Turner here again.
Now, when I first started this channel back in last back in November last year, I said I would never cover politics, recent uh or current news items or religion.
But I'm making an exception today because of something that I have seen I've seen the video and I'm very much sure that a lot of you have seen the video.
I'm regarding the case of a young lad 13 years old whose parents went and booked a flight and they did a lot of things. They told the airline that he had Tourette's.
They told them that he might have outbursts of certain words.
The airline gave them an early boarding pass, which is what they're meant to do for disabilities.
The parents did everything they could.
They got thrusty queue. They board the plane only to be told that the captain had refused go to go onto the plane because this young lad been overheard saying the word on.
So the captain refused refused them.
If they'd have read the paperwork, they would have known condition.
Um personally I think BA have gone gone uh to it in the wrong way. totally the wrong way.
If I had been a a captain of a plane, what I would have done would have been when they're doing all the bing bong uh this is your captain speaking and all the rest of it.
I would have just said that today on this flight we have a 13year-old young man who has Tourette's syndrome.
He might say some words and might shout out but don't be alarmed. He is no threat to the plane or to any other passenger.
I then would have, if there was time, I would have taken the kid to the cockpit, let him up, look around, calm him down, get him to a stage where he was calm and ready for the flight.
Yes, he still might shout out. He still might make his noises.
He can't help it. He's got no choice.
He's got Tourette's.
Instead, a captain got the duty hotel with the duty airport manager.
And if you watch the video, you'll see that there's the police behind her.
So the airport had called the police on a 13year-old young lad who had got Tourette's syndrome.
How do you think that how do you think he feels?
I know through my experience that you get enough problems when you're a child, when you're in school, when you're looking forward to a holiday, when you're so excited. Oh, I'm going on the plane. I'm going I'm going to the to seas. I'm going on the plane.
All excited.
and is confronted with the police and being told he can't can't fly. Yes, he might have said he might have said bomb.
They could have said any other word.
He could have swore. He he could have said anything. Anyway, as people on my channel obviously realize, I am very passionate about getting the awareness to people.
It's why I started the channel.
That is why I do what I do.
cuz I have had so many obstacles and barriers over the years. I still got them now. I get obstacles and barriers every day.
I decided, you know what? I'm going to do something.
So, I went on Google and I typed in What is the direct email address of the CEO of British Airways?
Not expecting to get anything.
And bang, there he was.
So I spent some time and I sent a very very lengthy email telling them exactly what I thought of British Airways and the way they dealt with the situation.
And I also told it in the point of view of somebody who has Tourette's and I sent it.
We're expecting to get it coming back as postmaster return.
It's been 3 hours now.
So, what I'm asking people out there, even if you're just watching the video and you're not on and you're not a subscriber, and please just do one thing, I'll do two things.
If you haven't already seen the video, just search search for it on YouTube.
And this I want you to do, please.
This is important to me.
I want you to do that, Google.
I'm going to get the email address of the CEO and I'm asking as many people as possible to email British Airways and tell them your thoughts of how they handled it.
If you are a subscriber, I will leave the comments open at the bottom of this video.
I want to see how many people are with me.
And if you're not a subscriber and you have a look at one or two my videos after you've watched this, you want to know more about Trevor, about Tourette's syndrome and watch me doing my hobby turning.
I won't go into the details.
if you want to find out more about me and there's videos of why I do what I do.
But if you want to subscribe to me, I will be very grateful.
But I'm a diabetic and I've been having quite a few hypos over the past two weeks and this weather doesn't tell.
Well, like I was saying, I think personally the British Airways was bang out of order.
They obviously haven't got any idea of the condition and they don't know how to handle a situation like this.
So, please send that email and let's get British Airways to do the right thing.
And that is to train the staff.
Some people might say, "Oh, that captain, he must be sacked. He's going to lose his job. He didn't handle it right."
No.
He could be a decent person, but he doesn't know enough about Tourette's and it took a a two of a too much of a hasty decision.
But the worst part of it for me is he didn't go to the parents himself.
He got somebody else to do it for him with the police.
So I am very passionate about awareness on the on Tourette's but from um up until the 15th of June if I remember rightly it's to a Tourette's action awareness month.
And the name of the campaign this year is I have no choice.
It wasn't that young's choice to say bum or whatever he said as well as that. It's the brain.
It's it's the brain telling you what to do.
Tourette's is involuntary movement, involuntary words.
You're not in control.
You have no choice. If we had a choice, we wouldn't do it.
Simple as that.
So, please, if you've watched to the end of the video, I really appreciate it.
go and do that email. I'd appreciate even more.
And if you want to or if you could just put a a comment on the end of this video.
I'm open. I'm very open with the condition.
I'll answer whatever questions regarding Tourette's and regarding myself with Tourette's cuz that is what I do this for.
So my next videos will will be of but turning.
I've got a wonderful
