Healthcare professionals must weigh geographic compensation differences against quality-of-life factors, as higher wages in one location may not offset the loss of family support networks and community connections in another.

I'd Quit My $116/hr Nurse Job for This #shorts本站添加:
I know other people are commenting, "Hey, why don't you move to Florida?" We moved to Pennsylvania. Guys, we don't want to move there. If we move there, we're going to come back to the same scenario where we're going to be like, we miss New York. Monica's old hospital is there. They just got a new contract.
I made a video where I broke down what the nurses are going to be getting paid now. And if Monica were to get a job in one of these higher-paying hospitals in New York City, >> Oh, I'm not working in Sinai again.
>> But, including Mount Sinai, NYP, then the rate for someone with her years of experience who's got like 12 years, she's going to have 13 years of experience. It's about $77 an hour. Me, on the other hand, if I do get a job, I'll be making about $89 an hour as a per diem employee. And that's only if I do manage to get a job at NYP or Mount Sinai. It also depends on the position.
And you people think we're crazy, but there are so many more things that we enjoy about New York City than we do about Sacramento. You know what we enjoy about Sacramento? Our job. We make a lot of money. I make $116 an hour there.
Monica makes $149 an hour. And we love our house.
>> I personally wouldn't mind living in Jersey City, but it's going to be very difficult for our family. There's so many places I want to live outside of the city, but we cannot. It's not going to work out because it's we're going to be further from work, further from family. So, I feel like we've tried all other options, but to us, this is the best scenario right now. We moved to Sacramento. We had no intention of having more kids, right? And our child happened, >> Right.
>> And so, that made it incredibly difficult for us to manage when we don't have a village in Sacramento. Remember how we were applying for his school in Sacramento? And I didn't even know who to put as an emergency contact. We were like, "What will happen as to our kids when it comes to emergencies?" We had nobody to rely on. Every time we visit New York, like yesterday, we went out for a walk, just Jason and I. Our son, our kids were with family. We don't have that in Sacramento. If there's an emergency, Another thing, our pets. We have two cats. When we lived here in New York, we always had family members to take care of our pets. It's so difficult to have small children and not have your village.
