The trauma drama triangle describes how chronic stress creates a chaotic nervous system environment where microglia (the 'codependent chaos duo') constantly signals danger and activates stress responses, while astrocytes amplify this stress signal, eventually dragging in normally calm cells like pyramidal neurons; this chronic activation leads to symptoms including waking up exhausted despite adequate sleep, chronic nightmares, emotional overwhelm, and easily triggered fight-flight-freeze responses, with healing becoming possible through understanding the NG2 timeline and how the nervous system responds to stress over time.

The Trauma Drama Triangle Explained (Why Chronic Stress Feels Overwhelming)Added:
Yesterday we met a pyramidal, the calm, quiet co-worker who's just trying to do his job, wash the brain and circulate the CSF.
But sometimes even the most mellow co-worker gets pulled into the chaos.
So today, meet the cast of the trauma drama triangle.
The codependent chaos duo, because of course they're the instigators of this.
Microglia says, "Something's wrong, activate everything."
Astrocytes say, "Same, amplify everything." And when this chaos loop has been too intense for too long, the very one trying to mind its own business gets dragged in. And that can feel like one, waking up exhausted no matter how many hours you slept. And that's the number one sign you didn't get adequate deep sleep.
That REM sleep is when all of these cells are most actively detoxing your system.
Two, chronic nightmares, because your nervous system is stuck recalibrating because it either doesn't feel safe or it hasn't gotten the memo that you're safe now.
Three, emotional overwhelm and feeling mentally cluttered because our thoughts and feelings are much more intertwined than we think. And four, fight, flight, and freeze responses are very easily triggered.
So while the codependent chaos duo keeps escalating everything and the quiet co-worker's trying not to drown in this mess.
The builders are now stuck trying to adapt in this environment.
And what happens next depends entirely on N G 2. Tomorrow we're going to talk about the N G 2 timeline.
How it responds to stress over time and how healing actually becomes possible.
