German Reacts to KING CHARLES Speaking German!Added:
Why did no one tell me that King Charles can speak German? I know that a lot of you don't like King Charles. I have no idea why exactly. I think he's a gentleman and he has quite a good humor, but maybe there are dark sides that I don't know about. So, if so, please write it in the comment section. I have picked two clips where he speaks German.
One clip is, I think, 3 years old. The other is 7 years old. So, it's quite old. If you can't speak German, that's not a problem. There are subtitles and maybe I will also translate a bit. So, let's hear how King Charles' German sounds like. Let's go.
It's interesting to see that the Germans know Dinner for One because I don't know Dinner for One. I know it's a show, but I didn't see it in German TV. So, I have no idea why the other Germans know it and I don't.
Oh, he can do the umlauter, the uh a and uh but I noticed he struggles with the r. The German r is more in the throat. I can't do this. I can only trill the r. Rr.
The English r is softer.
Yeah, sometimes he mixes up the uh with uh. And in so many ways, I have been struck by the warmth of the friendship between our nations and by the vitality of our partnership in countless areas.
It was, Mr. President, a friendship which mattered greatly to my mother, the late Queen, who cared deeply about the bond between our two countries. Our countries are working together to promote global health. Yeah. To help developing countries overcome their challenges and prosper.
And to advance the urgent and vital journey.
Towards net zero.
>> [applause] >> This was a very short clip, but I already can hear that he can speak German. There's still a big English accent, that's for sure, but he can speak German because he pronounces the words in a certain way that you can only pronounce if you're familiar with German. The next clip is a bit older, almost 7 years old, but also longer.
Let's see.
>> [music] >> Still a prince.
>> [bell] >> Is this his wife on the right?
7 years and he hasn't changed.
Looks the same.
Vergnügen.
Oh.
>> [cheering] >> That's good news. Okay, good. He's almost 7 years old right now.
>> [applause] >> Yes.
He can speak German. Berlin is not only your capital today, but our long-standing and common cause.
It offers a powerful reminder.
that we must take nothing for granted.
And if >> I'm not sure 7 years ago was Britain still in the EU or not?
>> our today as for centuries the fortunes of all of us who share this small continent are so tightly interwoven by the myriad connections between us. Yeah.
Yeah. His age is a bit stronger. The German age is a bit softer. For example, he says "nach" but in German it would be "nach".
"Zukunft". The Germans have different S sounds and also a Z sound. For example, the word future which is "Zukunft", he says "Zukunft" but it's a "Z".
"Zukunft", "Zukunft". On the world stage, Britain and Germany work together to uphold the rules-based international order. Yeah.
We are both committed to the Paris climate agreement and are leading global efforts to reduce Unfortunately, after 7 years the rule-based order is going down. All of those power-hungry dictators want more and more power. Just imagine 7 years ago, no war in Europe, no COVID, everything was fine.
emissions.
Indeed, this particular aspect of our shared approach to global issues could not be more important particularly as it becomes ever clearer that the impacts of climate change are happening faster and are more catastrophic than we had anticipated.
>> Hottest summer in Germany. Ours is a relationship that is broad and wide-ranging because we need each other but is deep and strong because of the mutual affection and profound respect between us.
>> Yes. We fought and we loved each other and that's why it's so sad that the UK left the European Union because it feels like there's a distance and snow.
relationship in transition.
But whatever the shape of our future relationship and whatever is negotiated and agreed between governments and institutions it is more clear to me than it has ever been that the bonds between us will and must endure.
And that our young people and future generations will have as much cause to cherish those bonds as our generation has had. King Charles German is not perfect, by far not perfect. There is an accent, the cadence is a bit off, but still a very good German. I want to know did he spend a lot of time in Germany? Because I don't think that you can learn this type of German outside of Germany. I know that British royals have historic ties to Germany, maybe that's the reason, but overall good German and also a good message. If you got any other royals or nobles that can speak German, please write them in the comment section and please support my content by giving me a like and a follow and I wish you all a good and safe day. Auf Wiedersehen.
Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
