The 2026 King of the Ring tournament represents a deliberate shift in WWE's talent development strategy, focusing on discovering and promoting the next generation of superstars (under 30) rather than relying on established veterans, which creates unpredictability and excitement as viewers cannot make rational predictions about the winner.

The 2026 King of the Ring Tournament is INSANE (Wrestling Hot Takes)Added:

And if you are looking for my full 30 plus minute review of this particular great episode of Monday Night Raw, make sure that you come over to the Patreon. patreon.com/sisapp over there we upload the raw reviews, smackdown reviews, PL reviews, and a whole bunch of other videos that we can never upload here because we use real footage over there and here on YouTube, they just get instantly blocked due to copyright. So, come check it out. Link in the description, link in the pin comment. And as always, don't forget to subscribe to this channel, ring the bell for notifications. If you're a wrestling fan, I know that you're going to fall in love with this YouTube channel because we always upload daily wrestling content. All right, folks, that's enough. Let's see what you guys wrote in. Genuinely asking, who the hell is winning King of the Ring? Seth got screwed by Braun. Oh, but most likely then again, who knows, is about to get screwed by Brock. So, it seems like they will face each other at SummerSlam. King Balor, a knight who becomes a king. Who wins this? Dude, I don't know how you haven't learned already to not make assumptions about this year's King of the Ring. Making the assumption that Brock Lesnar is going to cost Oba Femi is absolutely a rational assumption to make. But have you not realized that rationality doesn't work in this year's King of the Ring? Because we all rationally deduced that Braun Breaker was going to win. We all naturally deduced that Seth Rollins was going to win and we were all SYSTEMATICALLY WRONG. HAVE YOU not realized that this ain't your grandma's King of the Ring tournament? This ain't traditional WWE that's focusing on the 45YEAR-OLD FOSSILS getting SummerSlam Championship opportunities. This is, believe it or not, somehow a King of the Ring tournament where they're focusing on the next generation. Obami under 30, Javon Evans under 30, Dominic Mysterio under 30. This is exciting. You ask who the hell is GOING TO WIN? WHO KNOWS? WHO CARES AT THIS POINT? I'm just in for the ride because I was expecting one thing and THEN THEY SAID, "NO, NO, IDIOT. STOP EXPECTING WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT AND just accept this new wave, this new generation of stars that we're going to put in front of you." And because of this, I genuinely have no clue. Could Brock get involved? Sure. I don't know.
Honestly, at this point, I don't care.
I'm just excited that this is an actually good King of the Ring tournament. Javon winning was great, but I'm a bit disappointed that Seth will remain in the Vision Vortex for the foreseeable future. I really did get my hopes up for a Rollins King of the Ring win, setting up Roman versus Seth at SummerSlam. I'm not necessarily bummed out that we're going to continue to have Seth Rollins feuding with Braun Breaker because, well, their first two matches were really good. I'm not going to be upset about a third probably also really good match. What I will say I was a little bit bummed about was the fact that Seth Rollins could only lose this match via interference because of the vision when Braun Breaker went on to lose his match entirely clean on Friday Night Smackdown without the involvement of Seth Rollins. So I I kind of wish that it could have gone the same way here for Seth Rollins and Javon Evans went entirely clean. I think that personally would have been nice. But hey, at the end of the day, Braun Breaker is somebody that's still new in the WWE. Meanwhile, Seth Rollins is this Hall of Famer. So, I guess they have to find a rational excuse for somebody like a Seth Rollins to lose in this situation to somebody that is far younger and more inexperienced uh like a like a Javon Evans. So, I guess from that perspective, I guess I kind of get it.
But, I'm not bummed that Seth Rollins is still going to be feuding with uh with Braun Breaker. Again, like their previous matches were very good. And I have uh no reason to believe that the matches uh between Braun Breaker and Seth Rollins moving forward are going to be also nothing but good. Give Chad Gable the icy title now. Should have given it to him two years ago, but now that he's got white hot momentum again, it's the perfect ending to the redemption if he beats Penta, the man who started his whole downward spiral.
Honestly, this version of Gable is world champ material. Hey, we've said it on this channel already that that is the absolute perfect full circle story arc for Chad Gable and the best way to culminate his story. His downward spiral started with Penta. He's been chasing the Icy title and it just so happens that the guy that caused his downward spiral Penta happens to be holding that championship and they they're doing SummerSlam in his home city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Like it just it it genuinely just doesn't get any perfect. I I've said it as much. This is the easiest layup, the the most wide openen slam dunk that WWE could possibly have. I still think they'll find a way to not do it or probably ruin it or do it at some other random date that doesn't make any sense as much as SummerSlam, but that is absolutely unequivocally the best thing that they need to do. This momentum that Chad Gable, he might never get again, you know, and he's certainly never had this level of momentum before. So, if they don't capitalize on the momentum that Chad Gable has garnered worldwide, cuz it's not just in one localized location, like he's not just popular because it was in Paris. Like, this man is going to be getting pops around the world for the foreseeable future at least. And you need to capitalize on this because there will be a moment where they will be at a crossroads where they need to make a decision with Chad Gable. And unfortunately, my brain tells me that they're going to make the wrong decision. But again, they they I just hope that they don't because this is the perfect opportunity to pull the trigger on a Chad Gable. You will not have a better opportunity than this. If not now, then I think we can genuinely just assume that it's probably going to be never. After months of pretty weak Raw and Smackdown episodes, WWE finally went with the simplest formula. Put the best guys in the ring and let them face each other. And surprisingly, it works great.
Yeah. Isn't it kind of crazy that in a wrestling show when you have wrestling uh and it's the focus of the show, not you know 35minute bloodline segments, it ends up being very good episodes of Monday Night Raws and Smackdown. And I know that it's artificial because it's the King of the Ring tournament and the qualifiers. So it like kind of by default puts us in a situation where we have to have matches between people that have generally never face each other off and it's putting off on like the the best talent like by default and we're probably not going to be able to replicate this again until Money in the Bank qualifiers. But at the very least I can enjoy it while we're getting it. But I it clearly doesn't have to be just because of qualifier matches. That certainly gives us a good amount of volume to work with. But I look at this episode of Monday Night Raw and outside of the qualifier matches, you had Lar Valkyia versus Soul Ruka, an excellent match and that was not a qualifier match. And then you've got the absolutely fantastic Rey Mysterio versus Penta match. That also wasn't a qualifier match. So they don't need to rely on the artificial reason of it's a tournament so we need to put people up against each other. Just put people up against each other and they'll probably do a really good job and give us an unbelievable night of wrestling like this episode of Monday Night Raw did.
WWE could have taken the easy route and given it to the future Hall of Famer, Seth Rollins, but they shocked me again and went with the young OG. We're getting closer and closer to Javon versus Oba. If you've watched NXT, you know that this is bigger than King of the Ring. Beating Oba is one of the things that Javon has never done. Like I said at the very beginning of this video, this is not your grandmama's King of the Ring tournament. This is not the King of the Ring tournament that uh further pushes the established, you know, mainventor like they did with Cody Rhodess last year. This is about creating a new star. At least that's what it looks like uh from from the outside looking in based on who's moved on so far to the semifinals. Yeah, it would have been easy to go with Seth Rollins and Seth Rollins probably would have been great, but having Javon Evans wins now makes this King of the Ring tournament entirely unpredictable. You don't know who's going to win. Will Brock Lesnar get involved? I don't know.
Maybe. The thing is is that now for like the first time in a long time, I'm going into the rest of the King of the Ring with just like wideeyed open excitement about what's next to come. Yes, there is still one of the qualifier matches left and all the guys in that match are over 40 years old, so it doesn't particularly uh you know meet the uh current establishment of having people under 30 be in the semifinals. But nonetheless, this has still been a very fun King of the Ring tournament. Not just because of the matches, but also the results just being uh for the most part just shocking results that people did not expect. I think pretty much every YouTuber that was making King of uh and Queen of the Ring predictions predicted that Seth Rollins versus Bron Breaker was going to be the final or at the very minimum had Seth Rollins in the final on that side of the bracket cuz that looks so easy for Seth Rollins to win. So, for them to throw a curveball like this and go with the young upandcomer in Javon Evans is just so nice and refreshing and continues to make this King of the Ring tournament mustwatch TV. The men's midc card on Raw is the most exciting that it's been in years. Gunther's 666 day reign was excellent and had great matches, but this is easily the most entertaining icy title reign of the 2020s. That's definitely like a an interesting point of view to have because when you look at Gunther, even though he obviously had a great reign and had great individual matches, the division was never like packed. It was always like next guy up and it didn't feel like we had this ecosystem in the Intercontinental Championship division when Gunther was champion. Again, he still had an amazing reign. Meanwhile, when you look at this right now, Penta's having a great reign. Yes. But what is better this time around is the ecosystem. It's the characters revolving the Intercontinental Championship, the feuds with the Intercontinental Champion, the feuds with the guys surrounding the Intercontinental Championship. We have like an actual proper ecosystem here, something that Gunther's 666 day reign actually didn't particularly have. I'm not ready to say that this is the best championship reign for the IC title of the 2020s. I'm still going to give that to Gunther because of just the sheer quality of matches that he ended up having during uh that like 2-year reign. Um, but so far what this has over Gothther's championship reign is the fact that it has a really, really established world with lore that continues to develop on a weekly basis.
And this is why you do house shows to keep wrestlers fresh for these types of matches on Raw and or Smackdown. Great showing from both wrestlers. Would love to see this match to be 20 plus minutes on a pay-per-view. Hey, I would say that this was so Ruka's cleanest match since moving up to the main roster. You could, I guess, credit that to all of the live shows that they've been doing in Europe with Suka having matches pretty much on all of them against Becky Lynch, continuously uh improving her timing, getting better at selling other people's moves, getting her uh timing just right on the main roster for the Soul Snatcher, which she finally hit like perfectly without any sort of hesitation or botch for like the first time uh since being called up to the main roster earlier this year. So yeah, I think maybe you might be able to credit that to house shows. I don't think that I can say that with confidence like 100% this is the reason why. But certainly there's correlation. However, any statistician will tell you that correlation does not necessarily mean causation. But correlation is certainly there. I'll say this like I want more house shows. And yeah, obviously like from the performer side of things, I want more house shows so that they can continue to get better and experiment and try things uh in a less pressure non-live TV environment.
But like I'm more selfish about the reason as to why I want house shows. I just want cheaper shows to be able to go to because uh I don't know who here has not been to a house show, but house shows are better than Raw and Smackdown.
Like and I will I'll stand by that. They are more exciting and better in terms of wrestling. They are cheaper, better bang for your buck, and it usually features more wrestlers than a traditional episode of Raw or Smackdown. I think Liv Morgan advancing is not a terrible idea and as of now it opens the door for Liv versus Raquel which could then lead to Raquel winning and choosing Liv for SummerSlam. I mean it depends, right?
Like I know some people are excited about the prospect of this that these two could face each other off in the Queen of the Ring finals. I know that there's like the other half of fans that still find this pointless and don't want to see that as the finals of the Queen of the Ring. So, uh, you might not think it's a terrible idea, but there are a lot of people that think it is a terrible idea. I I I know that people don't like when I don't pick a side, but I still think it's a little early for me to determine whether I'm going to like it or not. I'm kind of still fence sitting right now. I still think it's bizarre that she's even in the Queen of the Ring tournament to begin with, but if they can make a great storyline out of this, then I guess so be it. Take me on this narrative on this story. But I am slightly leaning towards this. This still doesn't really make any sense cuz you could get to this match in a way that doesn't sacrifice an entire half of a tournament bracket that could have been used to push somebody that isn't a world champion. So there's definitely its pros and cons. And I I think it's fair to say that maybe more people are still leaning towards this is not a good idea towards it's a good idea. But I think people are generally interested to see what Raquel versus Liv's dynamic could look like if it was uh the finals of the Queen of the Ring. Is this going to become a finger poke a doom situation? Batista 2005. It certainly has potential, but I still I I'm raising question marks as to why we need to go through all of this to get to this storyline that should be pretty easy to get to considering that Livia has already cost her a women's world championship match, that Livia has eliminated her from the from the Royal Rumble. There's already plenty of ammunition to use, but whatever. We'll see what the hell WWE has planned here.
Liv Morgan winning was a huge mistake.
Putting her in the tournament is one thing, but now that she's advanced, we are faced with two awful outcomes.
Either she's pinned in a non-title singles match or she wins the whole tournament, which would defeat the purpose. That actually is an interesting way to to look at it because they did have a easy get out of jail free card.
And by that I mean we could have had Liv Morgan lose without getting pinned and without, you know, looking bad because she was pinned or submitted or anything like that in a fatal four-way environment. Now we're going into a singles environment where she has to either win or get pinned. Like that's it. That's those are the two options.
She has to lose or win, right? She has to be the catalyst of her own loss or the catalyst of her own win. And that is depending on how you want to look at things can be a little bit of a rock in a hard place because she has no business winning the Queen of the Ring tournament. But I also I agree. I don't think that she should be eating uh one-on-one losses in a tournament that she shouldn't have been in in the first place. So, I actually do think that's an interesting way to look at it. Uh a lot of people are mostly looking at it from like a narrative perspective, like you know, like storyline and what this could lead to. A lot of people don't like it from that perspective, but if you're looking at it from like logistics, like what you're doing here, then yeah, like I I think we are in a bit of a tough situation here with Liv Morgan. Chad Gable going on his Lucha apology tour just further reminds me that Roman never apologized for his crimes. Lauo again.
Uh I'd like to use this as your weekly reminder that it is indeed pronounced Lauo. Anyways, yeah, that's hilarious. I think that Chad Gable in this past week alone has apologized uh to Ray Phoenix, to Penta, Rey Mysterio. He's apologized to Dragon Lee and now he's probably going to go apologize to Alpha Academy.
So, uh yeah, that's like four apologies in the span of like four days. and Roman Reigns as zero apologies in the span of like two years. Are they really running it back at SummerSlam? Maybe. It's possible. Like here's the thing. LA Knight right now out of everybody really that's left in the King of the Ring tournament is the only one that has a narrative that's Roman Reigns and Bloodline focused, right? he's uh cutting promos about how he doesn't give a damn about the Bloodline, that the Bloodline are a vortex themselves, that all they do is win by helping each other win, yada yada yada. Like, we've heard what LA Knight has had to say about the Bloodline. He's the only one in the tournament talking about the Bloodline.
So, I don't think it is a crazy, you know, uh uh train of thought to think that that might lead him to be the one that has a match against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. That being said, that match at SummerSlam could potentially happen without him winning King of the Ring as well, right? Like the winner of the King of the Ring might not be Ali Knight and they make maybe they go after Cody Rhodess or something. Anyways, I digress. I have this as a possibility. I don't think it's uh like the most ideal of situations, but it is important to remind the people that out of everyone in the King of the Ring right now, if he wins and he goes to the semi-finals, he'll be one of the only four that actually has a narrative revolving Roman to potentially have that match at SummerSlam and and have it, I guess, be a natural progression from a narrative perspective because if it's Javon, Oba, or Dominic Mysterio that win and go after Roman, like we're starting from scratch, right? And I don't know that WWE necessarily wants to do that. I mean, starting from scratch with uh like Oba would be pretty easy because they already kind of have a little bit of history after what happened uh at uh after Wrestlemania with them calling each other out. But yeah, I mean, I don't think it's impossible that it could be LA Knight. I do think at the very minimum LA Knight wins his uh qualifier match. I don't like whatever they're doing to Jacob Fatu. Bro was a werewolf and they turned him into Roman's domestic German Shepherd dog. To be fair, that is what Roman said he was going to do, that he was going to domesticate him. But hey, me and many other people were kind of brazing the question like, what do you do with Jacob Fatu's momentum when he loses and acknowledges Roman Reigns? And I guess this is it. I don't find this particularly exciting. There's still clearly a lot of love for him from the crowd. They were chanting fa too anytime that he was appearing on screen. And I guess I kind of like the dynamic of him only listening to Roman and not the Usos. That is kind of unique. That is something that they didn't do, for example, with Solo Sakoa. So, at the very least, that's a new wrinkle in the story line. A very obvious wrinkle that I basically called out that they were going to focus on probably for the rest of the summer. Wouldn't be surprised if at SummerSlam it's like Jay versus uh versus Fatu. I feel like Talatanga could be a feared almost canelike type of character, but with the MFT and MFT vortex, it is hard to take him very seriously. Hope that he starts to get more of a singles push. He looked great in that fatal four-way. Before I go and talk about Telatona, I think everybody looked great in that fatal four-way, including Ricky Saints, which not many people really uh wrote in about. I think Ricky was really, really solid in that match. Totanga was also very solid. Like Tatanga, I've been singing his praises while most of the internet has just been um kind of dunking on him simply because they don't like anything to do with MFT.
And to be fair, fair enough. I get not wanting anything to do with MF, but I've just been looking at Telatona as a working big man and I'm like, yo, this guy can move. This guy has a great offense. He sells really well. Like, this guy is what WWE traditionally likes. And I'm not surprised that he's getting the protection and the push that he's been getting over the last couple of weeks because he is like prototypically what WWE loves to to push. This could be maybe like a similar uh like a Braun Strowman situation where he starts with the wide family and then he eventually breaks off on his own.
That could be here what they're looking with uh doing with Tomatanga here in the foreseeable future. I'm not really sure, but I will say like Tomatanga in his singles matches recently in this fatal four-way, he actually genuinely has impressed me. But you're right, like it's tough to really be like invested or interested in him when he's a member of the MFT because the MFT is just like not interesting at all. It's like this uh void of charisma that like interesting personalities go to die and that might be Talatanga unfortunately because we haven't seen an ounce of personality from him yet. But from the in ring, like it's been generally like pretty solid stuff from him. Here's a hot take.
Perhaps WWE actually listens to the internet. Three of the final four are under the age of 30. Yeah. So, we did talk about this a little bit earlier. Uh it is funny that the final remaining uh quarterfinal is between all four guys that are over the age of 40. So, like that's like the unk of the ring. Uh I absolutely hope that they go with somebody under 30. It's been one of WWE fans biggest complaints that they just will not push the next generation, that they are bottlenecked at the top with all of these older guys that are pushing 40, pushing 50. And it's time to look at the guys that are in their early 30s, late 20s, and just allowing them to flourish and allowing them to get an opportunity at the main event and seeing if they can stick. I I mean, certainly at this point, we can all agree that Oba is no longer an experiment. Like Oba is just a main event, dude. Like there is no more waiting for this guy. Like this guy, this is a guy that you could have win the WWE Undisputed Championship or World Heavyweight Championship and he wouldn't feel out of place like like they're trying too quickly like they did for example going back many years ago with Randy Orton when he won the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time at 24 years old when it was entirely too soon. But it was still a nice experiment that eventually be led to Randy Orton becoming a full-fledged mainventor for the rest of his career.
And I would love for them to do this with the current young crop that they have. It's going to suck when King of the Ring ends and we go back to last matches every week. Raw post Clash has genuinely been so much more enjoyable.
Yeah, like I do like for like the, you know, cinematic bloodline stuff, but sometimes it can be a little bit overbearing. It can take, you know, 25, 30 minutes between just Roman Reigns's entrance, between all of the stuff that they need to talk about, etc. It it tends to take a lot away from the show.
It still adds a lot to it because, you know, it's the it's a program with the biggest draw that they have in Roman Reigns. But when you don't have Roman Reigns and you know your biggest longest promo segment is a 10-minute segment between Oba and uh and Dominic Mysterio and the rest is focused on pro wrestling like you're just bound to have a really fun show when you're forced to u highlight and and showcase the your treasure chest, your war chest of talent that you have. When you have like that extra 30 minutes not being taken up for the bloodline, it leads to really really special episodes. Ricky Saints looked really great tonight. And I hope that he picks up some momentum and gets a shot against Trick for the title soon. Would have even loved to see him win the match tonight. I mean, with how unpredictable the King of the Ring tournament has been, I went into this match between the four guys on Monday Night Raw not knowing he was going to win. I wasn't of the mind of like, ah, Seth Rollins is obviously going to win. And cuz I threw that thought away after Braun Breaker lost on Friday night Smackdown. I would have been totally fine with any of these guys winning. even like legitimately Talatona. Ricky Saints winning would have been probably the like most interesting swerve because it would have that would have been like the one that nobody would have seen coming. But Ricky Sains looked great in this match. His selling was fantastic. Um his uh I guess finishing sequence where he was like all happy and about to take advantage of the situation in front of him and pin Seth Rollins only to get up and eat the OG cutter and sell it beautifully was awesome. like Ricky Saints made everyone look so good tonight while in the process reminding everybody that he's really damn good at this thing of called professional wrestling. H my hope is that he takes this momentum backst state side and starts actually garnering some reactions from the crowd. What a banger of a match that is. The fact that Rey is a general manager and a performer and he is in his 50s and still moving like he's 30 years old. He is just brilliant and the crowd deserved that heater of a match. Love to see a rematch in Triple A. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, these guys can have matches until the end of time. I'm I'd be happy to see them on every single episode of Monday Night Raw. That match was fantastic. The crowd obviously made it even better.
We've talked about how uh special crowds can take a special match and make it, you know, into a classic, and I do think that's what happened here tonight. Great stuff, great chemistry. I gush about it on the Patreon review with footage if you want to go see it. Uh but yeah, I would love for them to run this in Triple A. Like if this was a match at Triple Mania, that'd be fantastic because uh if you thought that the uh French crowd was awesome for this match, just imagine what it would be like in Mexico City with a crowd that is like super uber mega invested in the life and careers of both of these guys going toe-to-toe. It would just be absolutely a remarkable sight to see. I have said it once, twice more, no one touches the French crowd. Oba getting the biggest pop of his career so far. Gray getting serenated like never before. France deserves a big four PL. Yeah, people always talk about like, hey, London deserves a Wrestlemania. London deserves a big four PL. I agree with that statement. I still think that they do.
But fellas, like I think we got to start talking about Paris. I think Paris uh Paris Wrestlemania Paris, SummerSlam, Paris, anything really at this point, I would take because they just create such an unbelievable, unforgettable atmosphere. They make everyone feel so special and they truly elevate every single performer that gets put in front of them. It's a special thing what they're able to do with our shows.
Monday Night Raw, Smackdown, whatever it might be, Clash in Paris, any show, they turn it into something super special and memorable. Another insanely good promo from LA Night. As badly as I want him to win and want WWE to utilize him like the main eventtor that he is, I know they're going to fumble this momentum he has once again. Yeah, at this point like I have no faith in WWE'se's ability to actually like utilize LA Night. Like I have just zero hopes and zero expectations. So maybe one day if they actually do decide to push him, it'll be a pleasant surprise to LA Night fans around the world. But this promo was very good. It did remind me and made me ask, and I asked this like live on stream, like why has this guy not been featured? Why do you not have this guy cutting promos on a regular basis having backstage segments? Like how did this guy go from uh you know, being featured to like disappearing for so long with no rhyme or reason? Like this is a guy that should be featured. Oh god, I'm choking HERE. HE SHOULD BE FEATURED at all times. I need some water.
Even just talking about LA Knight gets me choked up. Apparently, that kind of reminds me of like when LA Knight was cutting a promo and he like choked on his own gum.
>> Seth is saying what the fans think. The only one to call out how the Usos have gone back to being Roman's henchmen after building their own singles resumes. I think Jacob likely agrees, which is why he didn't jump Sev like Jay did. I don't know where this will go, but I'm intrigued. I mean, it's true, right? They spent like two years after the whole Wrestlemania 40 stuff happened uh developing the growth and development of both of these guys into single stars.
Same with Jacob Faw too only to revive the bloodline, put Roman back at the head of the table, rehash everything from the ground up from the 2020s uh and do it again and revert everything that these guys have built. There will hopefully be a payoff to this, but Seth Rollins absolutely is pointing out something that is very very true. It is interesting that it did still feel, especially in this segment, that Seth Rollins is still gunning after Roman Reigns. Like we could, even if he got eliminated from the King of the Ring, let's not forget Seth Rollins versus Roman Reigns at SummerSlam could still happen. The King of the Ring winner could pick Cody Rhodess potentially and could open up the door for Seth Rollins versus Roman Reigns and then open up this can of worms involving the bloodline. Maybe Seth Rollins will remind these guys, remember what you used to be. And maybe there will be a good character payoff to these guys going from uh, you know, lap dogs to uh, you know, wild dogs on their own, right back to lap dogs. There might be a payoff there, but I don't know. I'm not particularly hopeful on that. Chad Gable cannot go team with Otis and Tazawa. He has so much momentum right now, and that would just kill it instantly. What do you mean you're not excited about him teaming up with Otis and Tazawa? because Maxine is there lead to Chad Gable being stuck in the vision vortex for the next 80,000 years. That doesn't excite you at all whatsoever. I don't think that that's what's going to happen. I do think that this is just part of character development. You know, his overall redemption arc, but I do think it will come back to the luchadors. It will come back to Penta in the icy title and the stuff going on with Rusev and Ethan Paige. I think we're going to be fine. I don't think he's going to be teaming up with Alpha Academy anytime soon. Oba Femi is the guy. They were eating out of the palm of his hands.
Meanwhile, Dom was getting booed out of the building like it was 2023. The chair shot from JD was the cherry on top and made Oba look like the monster that he is. Yeah, it was nice having two new generation superstars, two under 30year-olds, and Oba and Dom getting heat and getting pops and reactions like they were like Wrestlemania mainers.
Obviously, they're in Paris, but I think that these guys would have gotten this type of reaction regardless of where they were, including, you know, in the middle of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shout out to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Anyways, the chair shot really was awesome. I I I I equated it to uh, you know, a Torchic using ember on a Charizard. You know, if you play the Pokemon games, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's not particularly very effective. This was a great segment. Good physicality. Oba looked like a monster. Dom looked like his weasly heel comedy self telling him to respect the mustache. Like everyone that was involved in this looked great. Like genuinely, I am actually really pumped for the future of this match and maybe even like an actual proper future feud between Oba Femi and dare I say it, the judgment day. If the goal is to have Oba versus Brock at SummerSlam, I would rather have the interference take place in the finals. Take him as close as you can to the crown only for it to be taken away by the beast. The idea of Dom being the one to do it just doesn't sit right with me. Well, it depends, right? I don't mind the idea of Brock Lesnar attacking Oba Femi and Oba loses via countout. What I don't want to see, and I think this is kind of what you're leaning towards is you don't want to see Dom pin Oba. That I don't want to see. I would much rather uh Dom win via count out and celebrated like he absolutely vanquished the ruler because it absolutely would work with his character acting like he actually pinned Oba Femi only because uh well he got counted out because of Brock Lesnar hitting him with countless F5s on the outside. I do think that that would work but Oba Femi getting pinned by Dominic Mysterio at this point literally makes no sense. So I don't mind it happening against Dom. I don't mind it happening in the King of the Ring finals. I think in the finals though, the one problem is that I don't want the King of the Ring winner to win because of interference. When you look at the last two King of the Ring tournaments, uh uh finals, Randy Orton versus Gunther, you know, heel versus face. The heel won clean, like no interference, nothing, no cheating. Uh and same with last year, you had Cody and Randy, no interference, no cheating.
I really think that the King of the Ring final should be left like untouched. It really should be uh who is the best and who is the King of the Ring. If you're going to run shenanigans, I actually think it should happen before the finals. He is facing Cody. Oh my goodness. Finn Balor fans, why why do you do this to yourselves? Why do you put yourselves in these positions to have all of this hope just for it to be uh crumbled in front of you? Okay, listen. Finn Balor fans, gather around.
Gather around here for a second, all of you. And before I do what I do, I just want you to know that I'm only doing this cuz I LOVE YOU. STOP DOING THIS TO YOURSELVES. WHY DO YOU CONSTANTLY PUT YOURSELVES IN POSITIONS to be disappointed? It's obviously not going to be Finn Balor. In fact, if it's Finn Balor, I'll eat my shorts on the video that he does end up winning the King of the Ring. Anyways, guys, thank you guys very much for watching today's video.
I'll see you guys in the next one. Take care. Goodbye. Get out of here.
