This Liquid Solved a Construction CrisisAdded:
This liquid solved a crisis that nearly stopped an entire construction industry.
Back in the late 1980s, there was a massive shortage of skilled construction workers. See, normal concrete needs workers to vibrate it with heavy machines for hours. But engineers asked a simple question. What if concrete could flow by itself? So, they invented super plasticizers, chemicals that make cement particles repel each other like magnets. This lets the concrete flow into every corner without any vibration.
And here's the twist. Even though it looks runny, it's actually stronger than regular concrete because it uses way less water.
