LATE NIGHT TROUBLE!
Added:Hello, hello, hello. How are you guys doing today? Happy Tuesday. Happy Tuesday of love.
You guys having a good Tuesday?
Doesn't feel like a Tuesday today. I don't know what it feels like. Oh, look.
There's a little beonia flower over here. Let me see if I can reach it. It's very windy today. Can I reach this little beonia flower with my toe?
I think I crushed it. Oh, no. I didn't crush it. Look, it's a little beonia flower. Should I put it behind my ear? I feel so tropical now.
I feel so tropical.
How are you guys? I don't like that.
How are you guys doing today?
Happy Tuesday. Are you having a good day? I'm having such a great day today.
Let me just show you my little I I've been reading a little bit out here today. I'm going to read a little bit tonight. It's a beautiful evening. It's been a lot cooler today. I know when I look at the weather, it's going to say that it's still like 89 or something degrees outside. I just made a cup of coffee. Oh, you know what? I just I had the box of the Kod sitting inside. So, I wanted to bring it outside and show it to you, but I forgot. Um I just made a cup of coffee in this Pendleton cup.
See, it says Pendleton on the side of it. this white Pendleton cup. I hardly ever use this cup. So, the coffee that I made is this Halloween high caffeine coffee that I bought last year. And it's supposed to be like pumpkin something. It's supposed to smell like Halloween basically. But if you guys remember, it's like in a purple and orange box. I got it and I was so excited about it. I think I bought it on Amazon and it's horrible. Like it tastes I hate that stoke coffee. Or do you know like when you're at the gas station and you can put those little like they look like creamers but it's called stoke and it's supposed to like make your coffee more caffeinated. That's what it tastes like to me. But I haven't had it in almost like well in almost a year. It's not expired. I looked. So I have like six K pods left and instead of just throw I didn't want to throw them out. I was like well I might as well use them.
So I was like I'll bring them out here to vlog.
Okay let's try it. Let's see if the the Halloween coffee is as bad as I remember. I always go for I put it in my drawers and I always go for something else. Okay.
It smells really good.
Actually, that's not bad.
That's pretty good.
Why didn't I like that? I got to get the box now and show you. Okay. Alex was laughing. He was like, "Look at you all bright like Easter with your blue shirt on and your peach shorts." I have peach shorts on, but you're going to have to watch me go inside real quick. Okay, so don't be looking at my butt.
Okay, so this is what I got last year.
It's actually pretty good. Ultra caffeinated coffee. Headless horsemen, artificial pumpkin flavored. Wake the hell up. It says ultra caffeinated coffee. I got this last year. You know, I wonder if since then, when did I start drinking the Cafe Bello cuz it's very strong like Cafe Bello. Like it's almost like an espresso blend. But this is what the little K pods look like. It has a little headless horseman on the front of it. It's cute, right? But I've had it sitting in there forever and I was like, I am not about this at all. Wake the hell hell up.
Headless Horseman 20 pods.
Yeah, it's Best Buy January 23rd of 2027.
So, it's distributed by the Udica Coffee Roasting Company, Udica, New York. I actually don't mind it.
I'm kind of surprised.
Ingredients: coffee, natural artificial flavors, arabica, arab, I don't know how to pronounce that word. coffee and robusta coffee. It's strong. It just tastes like a strong cup of coffee. Dark roasted ultra caffeinated coffee with pumpkin spice flavoring mixed together in this spooky seasonal blend to create a cup so memorable you might lose your head without it. That's kind of cute, though.
waketheellup.com.
Not sponsored. If you remember when I got it, I thought it tasted like crap.
It smells really, really good.
It's pumpkin, but it kind of has got like a little bit of apple or cinnamon or something in there.
I don't mind it. This is so funny that this has been sitting in the closet all this time and now I like pulled it out cuz I'm trying to like use the coffee that I have in there. remember the Christmas lattes that I bought?
Well, it's not really latte season, but I have two boxes, like a gingerbread latte. It's like an all-in-one. Like, it's just a K-pod of lattes. I was real into them at Christmas time in fall last year. I even did like a review on them and stuff. Well, I have two boxes of them. That's how into them I was into them for a moment. I'm not a big latte drinker. Well, I kind of go through phases. Like in fall and winter, I really like the creamer and stuff like that. I had the creamer my iced coffee yesterday. But most nights, well, especially if I'm walking watching detective shows, I cannot explain this, okay? But if I'm watching a detective show, I just want a cup of black coffee with one Splenda in it like that. I just want black coffee. I don't know why I feel like detectives probably just drink black coffee. Does that make any sense?
And I usually do drink coffee throughout the night. Like around 2:00, I'll probably like switch over to decaf. I like that Tim Horton's decaf. If you have other suggestions of decaf, let me know in the comment section below. But this is actually not bad. And the mug is so cute, too. I have the gray one. I have the gray one, the green one, the red one, and the white one. I guess I didn't know that I had the gray one. I thought I had a blue one. If I have the blue one, I don't know where it is. But anyway, the white one's cute though for summer, don't you think? Anyway, let me show you this. So, it's so crazy cuz today on my book channel, I've been wanting to do this book haul for a while of like a very gay book haul of all these gay books because I've gotten so many recommendations from bookramers. I've been buying books. I've been saving books and whatever.
Well, last week, I don't know if I showed this. I got the final Heartstoppper book by Alice Ozman. Did I show this the other day? I'm only on page 40. But the thing is, I want to read this before I watch the movie because I think the adaptation from the book to the movie is pretty similar, they're saying. I didn't talk about this cuz I was talking about Olivia Coleman and I showed the pictures of the mom in here. I read this article last night on who they replaced with the mom and I heard she's good in it and stuff like that. Nick's mom. But anyway, if I sat down in all honesty, this is such a quick read. I could read this probably in an hour and a half. Like that's how quick the heart I mean it's a graphic novel. It's not a hard read, but so I'm going to try to read some of this tonight. Um and then today, I don't know if you guys remember this, but today I got the second book in the series. I think this started like it was like you could buy them each like each one of these. So this is beneath the trees where nobody sees. And this is right of spring. I can't remember what the first one was called.
It's beneath the trees where nobody sees. It might have just been the first one. This is right of spring. Okay, now what's the first one called? This is the guy that writes um Patrick Horvath.
They're genius, you guys. I love graphic novels anyway, but this one is genius.
These are genius.
Okay, the first This is right to spring.
What's this? It's Oh, look. It's got all these movie posters in the back of it.
What's the first one called? Why can't I remember? Well, maybe it'll say in his author's note.
Patrick Corbath is a cartoonist and filmmaker who lives with his family in Los Angeles beneath the trees where nobody sees is his first published series as writer and artist. Hopefully, the first of many. So, this is book two in it. So, it's about this bear. I can't remember what her name is.
Samantha Strong. That's her. She's this bear. She always wears like lumberjack outfits and stuff like that. And she lives in this small town. This is what the first one's about. And she lives in this small town and the small town's like real cozy and stuff like that, but she's a serial killer bear, but she goes to this city and she kills people, but then there's another serial killer in town and it's like killing people in town. And she's afraid that one, she's got to protect her town because it's killing people that she loves and two, if the serial killer in town blows her cover being a serial killer cuz she doesn't bring it to her own town. She goes to the big city and kills people.
So, this is the second one. They're genius. Now, they're very like bloody as far as like graphic novels can go, but they're just geniusly done.
Okay. The Eisner nominated cozy horror comic series returns.
It's been eight long years since a blood lusting brown bear drove into the city, kidnapped a kind jung duck, dissected his body, and buried the pieces in the woods. The duck's family painstakingly sought justice. But this brown bear was smart. She covered her tracks. And in the 1980s, there simply wasn't a way for the Ducks family to find answers. But it's not the 80s anymore. Almost a decade after cuddly brown bear Samantha Strong solidified herself as a sole serial killer in Woodbrook, the world is entering a new era. As Samantha will soon find out, there are no secrets in the age of the internet. And those who lost loved ones to her massacre haven't given up the flame of justice. A reckoning is coming to Woodbrook. That's the town she lives in. She works at like the hardware store or something. Join visionary writer and artist Patrick Horvath as he returns to the hit series that has taken the comic world by storm.
You guys, these are so good. Like I said, they're graphic. Like you can see this picture right here.
She's like I don't want to show it, but she's like got where was it? She's like in the woods and she's like got this person gutted, but their head's cut off and she's like putting all their guts in a bucket.
It's not like every page isn't like that. like some of it is just like them walking around the town, but they're genius. So anyway, but look, doesn't this just look like a Pinterest picture right here?
Don't you just look like a Bookstagram picture right there? Look at that. You know you love it.
Where did my phone go? Oh, it's right here. Let's do a time and temperature check really quick. Well, the weather is it's windy and I'm getting started late to this vlog. So, I don't know how long this vlog is cuz it's almost 7:00. It is currently 6:54. I mean, it's not like I have big plans or anything tonight. Take a walk, watch TV. I was going to maybe go to the pool. Oh my god, I have to tell you all about me and Laura last night. So, we were going to go to the pool last night.
Well, it wasn't like a plan thing. I'll get to it in a second. I kind of wish we had, honestly, but um so I told her, I said, "If you're home later and you want to go to the pool, but now it's it's it's windy." She said, "Well, the pool's always really warm." I said, "Laura, the pool is not heated."
She's like I was like I am not going in the cold pool but anyway cuz then when you get out it's real cold. It's really really windy today but kind of like a pretty windy like a spring. Like you can hear it in the background, right? Oh my god.
I was explaining to Alex last night about my husband's getting old. Okay, he's 42 now. My husband I was telling him about my neighbor earlier when I was filming my review video. He came out here and he grilled chicken and now he's like cleaning off cleaning it off. So they must have had their dinner already. He's gonna put He's got to pull his car out so he can pull his grill out and grill in the driveway. This is the golfer.
He's very proud of his new grill.
How is that chicken?
Was it good?
He's pulling it back in there. He just cleaned it all out. Now he's pulling it back in the garage. Now he's going to put his car in the garage cuz see you can't have grills on your patios cuz they're wood patios. Can I just tell you today what I woke up to?
I don't know what's going on. I'm very confused about it, but I'm not asking any questions. Okay, so do you remember like a week ago I told you that I feel like I need to I was going to come out here. I was going to do a time and temperature check. I was going to start right away. There is no order in this world anymore, okay? Like I cannot just keep things I just ramble off into all these stories always. But you love it, don't you? It's fun. I love it too, just kind of sitting out here talking to you.
It's so funny. This is like 10 years of consistently just talking to you guys. I next I'm coming up. Well, this is so crazy. So, what is today? The 21st.
So, Saturday we are a I have that I have vlogged every day for 11 months on Saturday. Sunday, I don't know why I don't love the word gotcha day. I don't know why. I don't mind when other people do say gotcha day like for their dogs, but for me it just doesn't it doesn't resonate with me. I don't know why. Um, but on Sunday is the one-year anniversary. I thought it was the 27th, but I was looking at the pictures of when we brought them home and it was the 26th. So, Sunday is one year that Walter Otis have lived with us. Oh my god, I know. I can't believe it's been a year already. So, anyway, what was I saying?
Oh, I was going to come right out here.
I was going to do time and temperature.
Well, let's just do the temperature and then I will tell you my story about the patio because I was going to talk I was talking about well we can't so they're wood patios so you're not like supposed to have fire pits out there. People do but you're not supposed to. And then you're not supposed to have grills out there. They have a very very small deck out back. Like their deck is probably our deck is small. It's funny cuz people like consider our deck like big. Like Laura's is narrow like it goes like it's a walkway and then her deck is probably the very end of it is probably half the size of our deck. Um but she has the long it goes the full length of her deck. Theirs is almost the exact same size as ours. A lot of people in here are like your deck is really big. Like when they walk back there I'm like I always thought it was kind of small. But anyway, because they're wood decks you can't have grills out there. Some people do that live on the lake cuz you can see them but they're not supposed to. and he is a good citizen of the neighborhood. So before last summer, he had the charcoal one that reminded me of my mom where he would pull it out like and you know the what my mom used to call it just a charcoal grill. I can't remember what you call it, but he put charcoal in it and every night he would grill out. Well, this year he got a grill. He was real excited about it.
This big nice grill like my dad uses, but they have a real small wood patio, so it wouldn't even really fit out there. So he keeps it in the garage, but you can't just keep it like the the griller across the street. That's why I called him that. He had the He had one like him, like the big one that you wheeled out and then he also had the big egg.
And so he would pull it out in the driveway. Sometimes he had both of them going at the same time. But they pull out they have to pull them out in the driveway to grill. I think it's kind I mean, we don't grill, but I think it's kind of a nuisance. Alex and I talked about it a while ago. I mean, years ago now, cuz my dad was getting a new grill, and so he was like, "Do you want my old grill?" And it looked brand new. And Alex was like, "Yeah." And I was like, "Are we really going to grill? Like you're going to pull it out of the garage. our garage is so small anyway.
And he was like, "Well, that's true."
Okay, so the temperature is currently 85. Feels like it's 88. I don't think it does. I feel like it feels like 79 or 80 out right now. Um, and next hour rain chance 2%. I thought it was going to rain earlier. I actually talked I think this was when I was filming. I was talking to him earlier and I said, "Does it look like it's going to rain?" And he said, "No." And then I took the dogs ride out after that and I felt like a raindrop or two. I don't know, maybe it was bird poop. But I looked up and the clouds were so great. Now it's pretty outside. Let me show you. He's going inside.
See, it's like blue skies, little bit of cloud in the background, but it's pretty out tonight.
Oh, the church bells are going off. Can you hear them in the distance?
And let's see. Partly cloudy. Carina's uh forecast is partly cloudy tonight, low of 61. The clouds are sharing the sky. Catch a star or two when they step aside. And I don't think we're supposed to have any rain tonight. No rain. It didn't rain last night either when it was supposed to. Tomorrow it's supposed to drop. Okay. Oh, today the high was supposed to be 90°. It said tomorrow the it's supposed to be 76. So, it's going to be like 15° cooler tomorrow, which in the neighborhood everybody's really excited about except for I would kind of like to go to the pool, but next week it's going to be Oh, but it's going to rain. It says, well, it changes from day to day. So, tomorrow 76, partly cloudy.
Oh, it says mostly clear skies.
I was talking to Tanya last night about going to the pool and I said it's supposed to be like 75, like 79 on Wednesday. She goes, "That's a perfect pool day." I go, "Oh, the gardener, her friend just showed up to walk her dog."
She's going to be telling her about BM.
I haven't seen her at all today. Um, but Tanya's like, "That's a perfect day to go to the pool." 76. I don't think that's a perfect day to go to the pool.
I think 86 is a perfect day to go to the pool. 96. And then Thursday, partly cloudy, 79. Friday, 78. So, next couple days are going to be cooler. Saturday, 82. Mainly clear skies. That might be a nice day to go to the pool, depending on how busy it is. Alex has no plans this weekend except he has two dinners, two birthday dinners on Friday night that he has to go to. So, I'm on my own Friday night. Kind of excited about that. And then Sunday 88, Monday 89, but thunderstorms. Tuesday 86, thunderstorms. Wednesday 85, Thursday 87. Now, we're supposed to do cousin Funday tomorrow. I haven't heard from Caroline. She usually texts me during the middle of the day and so I checked in with her about an hour ago and said, "Hey, I'm just checking in.
Are we doing tomorrow?" Um, the only thing I really really need to do tomorrow, I've got groceries. I've got Trader Joe's stuff. I've got a lot of food to eat. When I went to the grocery store, I got other than just snack food.
I've gone to the grocery store like three times in the last week. I got like salad mixes and stuff like that. Um, so I'm good to go on that. I mean, I could go to Trader Joe's, but I have stuff from there, so I don't really need to go to Trader Joe's. The only place I really need to go is the post office, and Alex can take me there on Friday. Um, so if Caroline can't do tomorrow, that's cool.
I don't have anything at Costco. I need to get I don't really have anything to do tomorrow. So, if she can't end up doing it, I'm totally good with that. But when we when she dropped me off last week, she said she was she looked at her calendar, she said she was good for this week. So, I feel like this is offc center.
I love this. So, this is like her best friend. Comes over here every night and like they don't have dinner together or anything. She just comes and they walk their dog around the neighborhood and then like she like they have glass of water and then she leaves right after that.
So, so tonight my plans are to read some of this. Okay. I am so into this audio book. I actually I didn't know what I was going to listen to next, but I think I might listen to Stacy Willingham's I think it's called The Flicker in the Dark next.
Oh my god. Oh, no, no, no. Janna Deleó's newest book, Marsh Mystics, just came out. I pre-ordered it on Audible and it came out last night at midnight. So, I am so into this book. If you guys like thrillers, like domestic thrillers, like I was talking about, I don't usually love them, but anything kidnapping, I am obsessed with. So, I am reading the Stacy Willingham book, All the Dangerous Things. It came out a while ago. Um, I think Nikki was the one that told me about it and then I talked about in the video and I think Stacy also said that she had read them as well, but let me look in here because Stacy Willingham has several books. Can I just tell you I'm still like 18 books ahead on my good readads challenge. 18 books ahead.
Okay.
What am I looking at? Oh, my books.
>> Okay. Oh, they're going to walk her little dog.
>> Hey there.
>> Hey there. Y'all going for a walk to the bridge.
>> Yeah, we're gonna go see her fish.
>> Say hi to him.
>> Okay, >> don't fall in.
>> We'll try not to.
>> I need my producer.
>> Yeah. Oh, everybody said Laura even said last night she put all her plants out.
Did you see? She's like she I was telling her she goes, "Yeah, she's I almost said your name." She said, "YEAH, SHE'S RIGHT. YOU NEED ALL THESE PALM trees and stuff behind me." She's doing that to me, too. He does that to me, too. The thumbs up. Y'all are the thumbs up crowd. Well, have fun on your walk.
>> Don't get in trouble.
>> Yeah, you need plants behind.
>> I know. I know. Remember people tell me I need a wreath up there for Christmas and all that kind of stuff. I need more plants out here, let alone Okay, Stacy Willingham. So, this book, All the Dangerous Things is about Oh my god. A flicker in the dark got twice three times as many ratings on it and it came out in 2022. All the Dangerous Things came out in 2023. Forget Me Not.
I'm like obsessed with her. So, this book is about this woman and it starts off with her speaking at Crime Con. I talked about it yesterday, so I won't get into it, but her son was um kidnapped like a year before. So, she starts working with this podcaster cuz he like I solved a cold case and his sister was murdered. Her husband has left. He's like with this new woman.
Now, they're kind of suspecting the husband maybe. I feel like I feel like I need to just say this. I feel like it might be the podcaster.
Don't tell me, but I'm going to I want to finish it tonight. I have an hour and 59 minutes left of it. Okay, so I'm reading that tonight. What is A Flicker in the dark about? Cuz Nikki said she thought she read that one first. So, here's A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham.
When Khloe Davis was 12, six teenage girls went missing. I love when they go missing or kidnapped. Any kind of book like that. Missing in her small Louisiana t Louisiana town. Louisiana.
By the end of the summer, Khloe's father had been arrested as a serial killer and promptly put in prison. Why does this sound so familiar to me? Kloe and the rest of her family were left to grapple with the truth and try to move forward while dealing with the aftermath. Now, 20 years later, Kloe's a psychologist in a private practice in Baton Rouge and getting ready for her wedding. Do you hear her dogs down there barking cuz they're walking down their passive. Now, 20 years later, Khloe is a psychologist in private practice in Baton Rouge and getting ready for her wedding. She finally has a fragile grasp on the happiness she's worked so hard to get.
Sometimes though, she feels as out of control of her own life as the troubled teens who are her patients. And then a local teenage girl goes missing and then another and that terrifying summer comes crashing back. This sounds so good. Is she paranoid and seeing parallels that aren't really there? Or for the second time in her life, is she about to unmask a killer? In a debut novel that has already been auctioned for a limited series by actress Em act actress Emma Stone and sold to a dozen countries around the world. Stacy Mullingham has created an unforgettable character in a spellbinding thriller that will appeal equally to fans of Jillian Flynn and Karen Slaughter. I like Karen Slaughter and Jillian Flynn both. Um, what does she look like? I wonder. Oh, here's her picture.
Author profile.
Oh, there she is. Hey, Stacy.
I would die if I went in there and it was Stacy that watches my vlog. That was a true crime. Hey, Stacy. She is the New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author of psychological suspense. Her include her books include Flicker in the Dark, All the Dangerous Things: Only If You're Lucky, and Forget Me Not.
She lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, Daughter, and Dog.
Well, I also like thrillers that are set in the South. I don't know why. I think I love southern fiction and southern literature and there's just like a spookiness to it like of the Faulner books and uh Carson McCullers and Flannry Oconor there's just a spookiness that gothic fiction that Gothic southern fiction um so anyway so I'm going to finish that book and then I think I'm going to listen to well I'm either I might say the Gadelia the next one but uh in the Misfortune series So, I think that Tanya read that series.
Somebody just said they're reading Firstborn. Is that a romanty series? I think Tanya read that. So, my plan tonight is to walk. It's a beautiful night to walk with the wind. Oh my god, it feels it's going to feel like early spring or like fall. So, it's going to be so nice. I'm so excited. So, I'll probably finish this book. Well, not when I'm walking. Um, but most of it while I'm walking.
Oh, there's that cardinal over there.
You know what I want to put on before I get to my So, last night I was explaining to Alex, this is where I said he's getting older, the Merlin Bird app.
And he was like, I was telling him about it and he was like, "What's going on?" And he was like, "Now, what does it do?" And I said, he has no interest in birds. So, I thought this was so funny. I was showing it to him and I was telling him it like records your birds. And he's like, "What's it called again?" I was like, "If he downloads that app." So, here we're going to Oh my god, one of them yesterday. I don't think I saved it.
Life list.
No, but when I went inside to look, it was still recording and there was a book there was a bird that I've never These are the birds that are like in the area that could be in the area. But there was a bird that I had never seen on here before and it was caught. So here we're just going to Carolina Chickity and Morning Debs are both in the background. Hey, how are you?
>> Good. How are you?
>> Good. You're not at the pool today.
>> It's good to see you.
>> Oh, my neighbors at the pool. If they're going Are you going to the pool?
>> What's that?
>> For a little night swim.
>> Have fun.
Okay, this is so crazy. What happened?
So, this girl, she's now a senior in high school. She and she comes with her little sister to the pool. They live on the outside of our They live out of our neighborhood, but years ago, I know you guys, if you've watched for a while, you'll remember me talking. She came with her dad. So, like her dad had had an injury and wasn't working for like an entire summer. And so, he would bring her and her sister to the pool like every single day. Well, at that time, she was like in seventh or eighth grade, and her sister was real little and they were real sweet. And the dad was like a swimmer. Like, I love this about parents cuz my parents did it. he would like get in and swim with them and like I can remember the little swim be like on his like neck and my I used to do it with my dad and he was like teaching her how to swim and stuff like that. So I got to talking to him a lot. He was super super nice and he was doing like personal like uh physical therapy and stuff like that cuz like he had hurt himself and I think he fell off a bike or something like that. Had a really bad like injury. Um okay she's a senior now. So senior. This is a summer before she'll be a senior. So yeah, I would have been vlogging at the time. I don't know how old she would have been, but she's come every summer and everybody in the neighborhood knows her and loves her. She comes up there by herself and she reads, she gets in the pool, she swims, laps. She is darling.
She's absolutely so sweet. Okay. Well, her mom walks every night. Like I pass her mom when I'm walking and I know where they live and stuff like that cuz I always see her coming out of her driveway. her mom walks in this neighborhood, but she hardly ever walks.
She just goes to the pool. Now, she brings her little sister to the pool all the time. So, when I'm at the pool, I talk to them and stuff like that cuz she's picking colleges. And I said, "Oh my god, we're going to miss you." She's like, "I'm still going to come back here every summer." I mean, I'm telling you right now, like all the regulars at the pool know her. Like, they know her more than they know her dad. They know her more than they know her mom. Cuz she comes like literally every day to the pool. Darling, so sweet. um we know her like all the sports she plays, what she's excited about, where she's applied. Everybody knows. And so she's kind of grown up going to the pool. It's kind of like Laura did here. So she's just walking by with her mom. So I said to her, like I know her mom from saying hi, too. But like I said to her, I go, "Oh, you're not at the pool right now."
Cuz she and her sister stay at the pool late. Like they bike up there and then they were at the pool like all day. And so she was like, "No." Well, you guys heard her. And then so when they walked by the same time they were walking by pool crew lady number one and the golfer walked out with their towels and they're going to the pool and which it's interesting because the breeze is kind of I know it says it's 85 but it kind of feels cool outside. So anyway um so I said to them they must have like stopped right there. I said to them I said oh you guys are going for a night swim. I heard her mom go what now? Or something like that. And so then she said no he's talking we're going for a night swim or whatever. I love this neighborhood. This neighborhood is so cozy. But anyway, isn't that so funny? Look, I've only still identified two birds. I think I talked too loud. But last night when I I I didn't stop it. So, like, if you just take it out of this, it still continues to record your birds. And so, last night when I went inside, I was like showing it to Alex. I was like, "Oh my god, look at all these birds that are the camera stopped." It does run down your phone though. I will tell you that. The battery on your phone.
Is that a Carolina chickity? Why is it not recording that word? We're just going to put that over here for a second. Okay. So, yeah. Tonight I'm going to walk. If Laura wants to go for a swim, I might go with Laura. I don't know how warm the water is. I'll probably if I'm still out here when they come back, I'll ask them. Well, I'll walk the dogs right after us. So, I'll ask them how warm the water is. Um maybe go for a swim later. And then if Laura I won't go if Laura doesn't want to go probably. But um and then Alex and I caught up on our shows. We watched Atlanta last night. We're caught up on all of our shows for the week. Um, I have Below Deck Mediterranean tonight.
So, I'm going to read listen to my audio book. He is super super tired. Neither one of us slept well last night. I slept like crap. I went to bed super late and I got up like I got like 6 hours of sleep.
Sometimes when I've gotten a little bit of sleep, like not a lot on my walk, I'm like halfway through my walk and I'm like, "Go back." And I cut my walk short. Other times I get like my second wind. So, we'll just see what happens.
Um, I just did not sleep well last night at all. I have the strangest strangest dreams. In one dream and I woke up, it was really really weird.
I I have a lot of dreams to this day about especially Boo Rallies in a lot of my dreams. PP and Tuck are in my dreams sometimes, but Boo's in a lot of my dreams. But last night I had a dream and Otis was in my dream and then I and I can remember I woke up and I went to the bathroom and I came back and I was like that was so weird that Otis was in my dream but Walter wasn't in my dream. It kind of bothered me. I don't even know why. And then when I woke up today, I had I kind of was half out of this dream and Walter was in and they weren't bad dreams, but Walter was in my dream, but Otis wasn't in my dream. Was really crazy. I don't know. I've been going back and looking at a lot of pictures of them from when we first got them. This is not picking up any birds, so I'm going to turn it off.
Oh, now it just did that bird.
It's going to pick up that morning dev watch.
It's not picking up any of these birds.
Okay, I'm just going to go out of this.
But anyway, um so not burn up my battery.
Okay. Um, what was I saying? We're caught up on our shows last night. I took a nap.
Listen to my audiobook while I was falling asleep.
What did we watch late? Cuz Alex ended up watching House of Dragons when I went upstairs. Oh, after we watch Atlanta, I called Tanya. I talked to her for about an hour. Talked to Nikki. Then I laid down.
When I got up, Nikki and I texted for a little bit and then we were going to watch Love After Lockout, but it was I didn't really feel like I was in the mood last night. It was getting kind of late. She was getting ready to go to bed.
So, we haven't done Puzzles in a while.
We need to do some puzzles.
So, um I ended up watching an episode of The Night Agent. I love that show. I think that show is so good. But I'm on the second season and I'm now on the ninth episode. There's 10 episodes each season. So, this one is about they're building well, it has a lot to do with like the Iranian embassy in New York City and like this woman that's like a traitor and she's selling information the US government to get her mom and her brother out of it, but a lot of stuff's happened with that. I don't want to ruin it for anybody that hasn't watched it.
And then Peter, that's the night agent, which is like this whole like secret CIA thing. He is like got this girlfriend that her story was the first one and she's helping him kind of put all these pieces together. There's a lot of moving pieces, but it's really about building like this super bomb that can kill a million people like in that quick and stuff like that. I'm not real into that kind of like that political espionage. I don't I'm not like I it was interesting because when I was growing up I like like my uncle my uncle Dave read a lot of those books and so when I was like in junior high in high school like he would pass those books on to me and I would read a lot of those like political he loved those political espionage books but I I don't love the shows and I don't love the books of it today. I don't know maybe I'll fade into that. So this is moving kind of more into that direction.
The first season wasn't about that. Um but I want to finish it cuz I want to watch the third season. I've also got to get Dead City the second season done.
I'm so not into it. Like I started watching it and I have started the first episode over and over and over again of the second episode cuz the third season's coming out like this week. Um I also want to watch Reacher cuz the fifth season I think is coming out and everybody's recommended that to me. I have so many shows I want to watch.
But late at night I'm feeling very cozy.
You guys look at these trees. I know as soon as I turn around they're going to stop blowing. But look at the wind. It's just like blowing these trees around like crazy. It's so pretty.
I feel like the trees are dancing in the wind. Is it coming back again? No.
Anyway, I I need to pick these weeds this weekend, too. That's the other thing I need to do. But I went back and I watched Vera. I watched episode one of season 6 of Vera.
I only got like halfway through it. And I was telling Nikki last night, I said part of the problem is I said that I am loving listening to my audiobooks now more than I am watching TV shows, which is crazy, right? So, tonight is not a big brother night.
Tomorrow is. Let's look at my weekly TV.
Oh, somebody asked me if I've given up on love. Uh, this is Polly. No. So Nikki and I were watching Love After Lockup and This Is Polly together. So we would both like start like we would text each other like start now and then we would watch them together. But we got like 3 weeks behind with me being on vacation and stuff like that. I think we're total of four weeks behind before this upcoming Friday. So last week we watched two of them. So of love after lockup. We got two more to catch up on.
Nikki was like, "Why don't we catch up on Light This Is Polly on our own?"
Because she's not as invested in that show as she is in Love After Lockup.
She's because I I still want to watch it. So, she's like, "Why don't we catch up on it on our own and we'll watch Love After Lockup together." So, we're watching Love After Lockup. I think we have two episodes and this Friday will be third episode. We're trying to get caught up this week on them and then we'll be caught up on Love After Lockup.
This is Polly. I've only watched I think the first two episodes. So, I think I have three or four episodes to catch up on, but I will be continuing to watch it. Oh, I'm into that show. I don't know. I'm going to keep on watching it.
Um, but I don't know what I want to watch next. I'm watching Vera. I bought The Stand. It feels very I wanted to watch the first one and then I'll watch the second one that came out in 2020.
Um, Murder 101. I'm on the second episode. I haven't finished that yet. The Night Agent, I'm on episode 9 out of 10 of season 2. Um, my god. You know that that couple I think the girl's like she always has her hair a different color. It is like bright orange. Like bright orange. She just walked by. I thought she had a hat on. It was her hair. It looks so cute.
But her hair's gotten a lot longer. Um, Dead City. Oh, I'm I finished the first episode. I'm on episode two out of eight. So slow. The bear. I've kind of stopped watching it. I don't know why.
Um, I feel like I'm not in any rush to watch it. And I It's kind of like when I want to watch something for a half an hour, I watch The Bear. The same thing with Nurse Jackie. So, The Bear, I'm on season three, episode three out of 10.
Nurse Jackie, I'm on season two, episode one out of 12. Outer Banks, I've kind of stopped on. I'm on ep season 1, episode 6 out of 10. Grey's Anatomy, I am still on season 1, episode 3. Dairy Girls, I'm on season 2, episode 2 out of six. And Murder in a Small Town. I should probably take it off this list cuz I started it and then I never continued it. So, I need a new show to watch. I think I'm going to watch the unless something comes out. There's a lot of shows coming out. Oh, I really want to watch that.
Fiveday Weekend or whatever that's on Peacock with Jennifer Garner.
Everybody's telling me that they love that. I want to watch that. I really want to watch Thrillers right now. Um I want to watch Welcome to Dairy. I want to watch Castle Rock. Those and Mr. Mercedes. Although I feel like I've seen all of Mr. Mercedes and I just don't remember it and I can't find it in my list. But I want to watch Castle Rock and Welcome to Dairy. So, these are the shows that I have on my shows to watch next. You guys tell me.
Where's my list? Shows to watch next. I still haven't watched Severance.
Your Friends and Neighbors, that's not going to be next. Slow Horses is a possibility. The Night Manager. Beef Reacher. All of Us Are Dead. The Old Man, I have one season of that left to watch. Fallout. I still haven't watched Bridgetgerton. Welcome to Dairy.
Wednesday, Bridgetgerton and Wednesday. I have like I'm not I don't know why I'm just not excited to watch those seasons. But um Bones I've never started. Pretty Little Liars. I want to start from the very beginning. Maryanne.
Oh, I do have to catch up on Thousand Pound Roomies. I have two episodes left.
I probably won't do a reaction to I'll just watch them. But you know why? Cuz season two is coming out. Season two of that is coming out. And also Thousand Pound Sisters is coming out in September. Devil in disguise on Peacock.
I might watch that one next. That's about John Wayne Gayy, but it's like the fictionalized account of it. The Legends, Lord of the Flies. Oh, that's four parts. I haven't watched that yet.
Yellowstone. I keep on putting Yellowstone off to watch. Scream.
Slasher. I've got two seasons left. Dead of Summer. Fargo. Big Little Lies. I have one season of Big Little Lies to watch. The Bridge, the version that's in like Norwegian or something. The Night of on HBO. I heard that's great. Mia, Tanya's husband told me to watch that.
And then There Were None. The PBS special. You're killing me on Acorn. I watch that. Can put that one off. Murder Small Town on Disney. Started it.
Homeland. I need to start Homeland.
Animal Kingdom. So many people tell me to watch Animal Kingdom. Hell Motel on AMC. Channel Zero. Night Sleeper. Nine Perfect Strangers. Alex watched the new season. He really liked it. The new season of The Last Thing Heold Me.
Sugar. Pagan Peak. Half man, Big Mistakes, Exile, The Hour, The Devil's Hour, The Valley. Still need to catch up on that. Welcome to Plaville. I don't know. I don't know about those if I'm going to catch up on those or not. The Crow Girl. Was this season of Welcome to Platville worth it. Just tell me that.
The Crow Girl. Oh, Whispers in the Dark or whatever is coming out. Whispers in Something. I read that book. It was fantastic. I cannot wait for that show to come out on Netflix. The Dome, which I watched like a couple episodes of that when it first came out. Mr. Mercedes Castle Rock, Chapel Weight, The Diplomat, DTF St. Louis, Archive 81, and Handmaid's Tale, and Testament. So, anything that you want to add to that, let me know and I'll put it on my list.
So, tonight I'll probably pick a new show and start it. It might be a Brit Box show. If you guys have a favorite on Brit Box that I haven't watched, let me know. Last night I watched a night agent and I watched Vera, but I came out here to walk the dogs. So, I hadn't like seen Laura a lot, right? And so I came out.
Well, she had her garage door up and her door open. This is so weird cuz I was just talking about it in my vlog. And um so I was taking the dogs out. Well, they could see the light coming out of her driveway and they started barking. So she walked over and she was like, "Bring them over here." So I brought them over there. We were talking. I was like, "What are you doing?" And she goes, I go, "Are you bringing all of your plants from inside out?" She goes, "I'm really late this summer." So usually in May, cuz she does inside plants, not outside plants, except for her tomato plants.
So, usually like in May, remember I said the chair was like this big round white wicker chair. It's not I don't know where I'm thinking that Brazil or something, but it's like a white wicker chair. And so, she has it sitting like in the corner like before her door is over here and she was bringing out all her plants last night, watering them, hanging them and stuff like that. She goes, I said, "Oh my god, this is so funny cuz I just mentioned in my vlog, I think it was yesterday that you haven't brought your plants out yet." She goes, "Well, I usually bring them out in May, but I haven't cuz I've been really, really busy." So, she didn't end up having her party. And the reason why was um her dog had like a hot spot on its head and it was like itching really really bad. So, she was like, I want to take care of her. So, she postponed her party for a couple weeks. So, that's why she didn't have her party this weekend. And she just had had so much stuff going on.
So, anyway, um so we were talking. I was asking her about her boyfriend.
Boyfriend's good and all kind of stuff.
She's like, "I want us all to get together. Like the four of us go to the pool." I was like, "Okay, name a day."
when Alex is off on the weekend and we can all go to the pool. So, she was like, "We need to do our night swims. We haven't done any night swims." I said, "Well, Laura," I said, "You've been awfully busy." She goes, "I know." She goes, "I know. I know. I know." And she had slept like all day yesterday because she was like not feeling great. But then she said she woke up and she felt really good. She was up till like 5 or 6:00 in the morning last night. So, she was putting all her plants out there. Okay.
So, I'm like sitting over there in the driveway. We're talking. She's putting her plants away. The dogs are over there. We I sat and talked to Laura last night for like an hour outside at like between 2 and 3:00 in the morning. It was so fun. Then I took him back out there again at 5:00 and they like wanted to go see Laura. So they pulled me over there. They go see Laura again. Laura and I are talking about doing all these night swims and all this kind of stuff.
She was late at 2:00. She's like, "Are you sure that we can't swim after 10:00?
I cuz I'm not sure this year cuz we haven't tried it if the alarm goes off or not." I go, "Well, we could try it."
She goes, "Do you want to go swimming right now?" I was like, "No, we probably shouldn't." Now, in retrospect, I wish we had gone up there last night and gone swimming. It would have been if the alarm went off, the alarm went off. You know what I mean? So, but it would have been so fun to go at like 2 o'clock in the morning. So, I think we're going to try it like one of these nights. Oh my god, it's going to be so fun. So, anyway, she was like, "No, I really missed the night swim." She's like, "I just been really really busy and stuff like that with her work and jiu-jitsu and all that kind of stuff." So, we ended up talking for like an hour last night. I told her all about the van at the pool. She didn't know anything about it. She's like, "Oh my god, we have to keep a watch out." She's like, "We're always wanting a mystery every summer."
I go, "I know, but Laura said exactly what you guys did." When I told her what was going on, she goes, "It sounds like drug deal to me." I go, "Do you really think so?" I go, "But like the woman's getting out of the car." I almost kind of feel like it's like prostitution or something. I don't know. Like the woman gets out of the car and she goes to the truck. They're not parked right next to each other is the other thing. You know what is funny is that they have not come back from their walk yet going to see the fish and the turtles.
my husband's putting all stuff kind of stuff in the garage or whatever. Did you hear that? So anyway, um Laura's like, "No, that sounds like drug deals." And then we were talking and she's like, "But they pick neighborhoods like this."
Well, I was telling her that I told the guy that's the alumni HOA president, I told his wife to pass it on, so I don't know what's going to happen with that.
But there was She was like, "Is it down there tonight?" I was like, "No, I haven't seen anything tonight." So maybe the drug deals have stopped. I don't know. But not in our neighborhood. We're crime watchers over here. Oh, this is what I was going to tell you about the back patio cuz she and I were talking about it cuz apparently she needs her patio done cuz she got a new patio. So, she needs it stained. Okay. Well, do you remember the one day that I said I couldn't film anything cuz it was so loud out here with like the landscapers and they were doing stuff back out there and they had moved all of our furniture off and the dogs were going crazy and then they moved all our furniture back on cuz they powerwashed it, right? Okay.
Which was real nice cuz you we used to have to pay for it. Um, well, Laura was like, "Yeah, but do you remember the last time that they powerwashed it? They like rotted all of our wood away." And she's like, "I think the HOA is doing it now and they're hiring somebody to do it." I go, "Maybe that is why." But they powerwashed it when they painted. And she goes, "Do you not remember that like powerwashed our whole houses?" I go, "I do." She goes, "I think it's the same team."
So, we were talking about it cuz I said, "Are you getting your patio stained?"
And she's like, "Yeah, cuz I got a new patio. They put new boards in, so they have to stain it cuz the boards don't match."
I said, 'Oh, because yesterday they did it again. This is why I had to call the old president cuz he's in charge of all the painting in the building and stuff, right? So, he was walking back there and then he left me a message. So, I called and talked to his wife. Told you guys all about that yesterday. And so, I said, "But they stained our patio last year, so I don't know why."
And he and I passed on the message, so he knows we don't need our patio stained. They have moved our furniture off there last week. I feel bad for the guys. I mean, it's not light furniture.
One of the things is the chest that we keep all of the cushions on. They move everything off to the grass and at the end of the day, they put it all back up.
Well, that was a week ago. Okay. Then, like, was it yesterday that he called me? Yeah, they did it yesterday. They moved all the furniture back up. Today, I come downstairs, all the furniture's in the yard again. They moved it all off the patio. When I had already told him that we don't need it stained, at this point, I was like, "It's not my problem anymore. I'm not worried about cuz I was going to go out there and tell the guy, but he was nowhere to be found. Well, they left and all of Laura and I's furniture it theirs isn't. But all of Laura and I's furniture is in the grass.
So, I don't know. Maybe we're getting it stained again. Maybe they decided that it needed staining again. I don't know cuz we had the patio door put in. I have no idea. Another mystery. There's lots of mysteries going around the neighborhood. Do you know what I mean?
So, anyway, um yeah. Uh, I'm like, should I bring this up? Should I not? Um, you know, I I just want to make this real quick. I always get accused of like um doing this or reporting that person.
I have never ever, okay, on my career on YouTube, I'm make this real short because I know I 99% of the people won't know what I'm talking about, okay? I um have never reported anything on YouTube or other sites or whatever for stealing my content or doing that. I never have.
I to be honest with you, it's more trouble than it's worth. Um and I know that there are people that think that I'm constantly looking into things about myself. I don't really care if you believe it or not. I'm not. It brings me down to look at that people say about me that don't like me. But if you're talking about me and my life and I'm talking about my life and you're talking about me talking about my life, then you're probably going to think that I'm looking at it because it's my life that I'm talking about. So my eight channels are about my life. I don't care about that though. I don't care if people think that I'm looking at that stuff or not. You know, eight years ago that would have bothered me. It doesn't bother me today. If people want to think that I'm over there, I'm there. But what I will say because people are sending this to me because they know that you can do this. There is called something like a DCMA or a DMCA thing where so I have all of my videos where if you're you can't take clips of them. Okay. I I actually have it on my videos where you can't take a clip. It actually hurts me because people could take my clips and share them in in a funny way. I don't care if somebody wants to take a clip of my video and like any of my videos on any of my channels and be like, "Oh my god, I think this is so funny. I love Peter so much." And respond to it in a a nice positive way. But you, my videos are copywritten. All YouTube videos are copywritten. So if you take a clip of it, like you record it on your phone and put it up there that you can have a DMCA, DCMA or DMCA. Somebody showed this to me and sent it to me. Okay. I didn't know that my clips have been being used for months and months and months because I have it. So you can't clip my videos.
So you have to use an embed code, which means that the only thing it'll take is it won't link the video. It'll link the code, which means you have to come back to my channel. All right. I did that on purpose so people couldn't take clips of my videos. Now I found out that people are recording clips of my videos and then using them on thirdparty sites. I'm not cool with that. Okay? And I'm telling you right now, like it takes three strikes to take down a site. So I'm just going to tell you right now, I'm giving you ample effort to change your rules or whatever. Like people are constantly like, I had this taken down or I had that taken down. If I have the ability to take things down, don't you think I take down an entire site? Like that's so ridiculous that people think that. But that's beside the point, okay?
I've always said, "Let people say what they want to say." 99% of it isn't true anyway. And I don't really care. Talk about me if you want to talk about me. I talk about people, so you know, people are going to talk about me. I can't control that. All right? And I don't need to look at it. And I don't look at it. And I don't really care if people believe me or not. But you're not going to take my and use it. Okay? And that's not fair use to have it on a third party site. That's not fair use.
If you link my video to it and you link it so people have to go watch my video, that's considered fair use. It's not fair use. Okay. And I'm giving you fair ample warning and I've actually done this in the past and I so I don't know if the moderators have changed but I can literally have that site because it's like 20 times now and it takes three.
I'm just giving you fair warning. All right.
If I really wanted to do it, I would be I wouldn't be this way. I would be sneaky. For all the people that say I try to have this taken down and try to have that taken down, this is how much I'm trying to let you have a space to talk about me. Okay? Just do it without stealing my I have People think I'm over there and whatever and I'm reporting stuff. If I was, I would just take it down, okay?
Talk all the mad you want to over there. I don't really care. All right?
But I'm not going to have you steal my So, if it continues, I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to report it. I'm just going to tell you right now, okay? If people want to use clips of my video and they want to use it in a funny way, like on a on Instagram, oh my god, I love Peter this or show me in the background, I love Peter watching that. I'm cool with that.
But if you're going to use my clips to dog me and I'm not going to have that. All right?
Make a YouTube channel and do it. That's fair use. You can't do it on a third party site. I'm just telling you right now. Okay?
It was brought to my It's been brought to my attention more and more, but last night it was brought to my attention that like in 3 days, three clips of my own are being used. I'm not going to like this is not going to be a thing where people like stop looking at my I know that people don't want to give me the view and all that kind of stuff. I don't know what to say. Then don't watch my channels. You know, people constantly are like, "Well, you don't have to watch our videos. I don't watch videos made about me. You don't have to watch videos that I make." Okay? That kind of stuff.
But I'm not going to have my stolen. And I think that's fair to say.
I think it's fair to say. Talk all the mad you want to say about me.
Gossip, tell truth, tell lies, write paragraphs about me, that all that kind of stuff. Do what you need to do, but you're not going to steal clips of mine.
I'm just giving you fair warning. Okay?
And that's actually not of that specific thread. That's actually an overall of that website. It's a it's a moderator rule. So, you're violating that rule.
I'm just telling you right now is brought to my attention. I wouldn't know cuz I don't go there. It was brought to my attention that it's happened like three times in the last week. I already have screenshots where people have sent it to me that it's happened like in the last 10 years. And I don't like to bring any negativity to this vlog, but I know you watch my vlog so closely. So, I'm just putting this out there right now.
I'm giving you fair warning, okay? I have to go in and file paperwork to file a claim on this to have my stuff not used. I have done whatever I possibly can on my videos to protect my videos by making it where you have to embed my video code and share it. I You can do that. I don't You can talk about my videos and you can share the embed code so somebody has to come over here and watch what you're going to talk about.
All right? But you're not going to record it and take it as if it's your own information. That's stealing my content that I work on. Talk all the you want to talk about me. Say what you want to say. I don't really care about that. Okay? But you're not going to steal my content. And if you do, I'm just gonna I'm I'm just gonna have to deal with it. And I'm just giving you fair warning. So go in there, clean it up, continue to talk about me. But if I find out that it continues to happen, you won't have a place to talk about me anymore. I'm just I'm giving you fair warning. Okay? I have done this in the past. I've done this six months ago, a year ago. I'm not spiraling. I'm not mad. I'm not angry about it. You know, if you want to talk about me, go. There's a lot of places you can talk about me. I'm just I'm asking you.
And I'm not even going to beg because you guys are not nice to me. You're not going to steal my Okay? And if I find out that it's happening because it only takes three times to happen before it can be shut down, okay? So, it's a violation. So, if you're doing it, I'm telling you right now, it's not fair use. And you you Google it. You Google it. Okay? Cuz when somebody brought it to me and said you could have this, I thought, "No, I can't." They brought it to me six months ago. They brought it to me again last night. And I looked into it. I was like, "Absolutely." So, you look into it if you don't believe me.
All right? But I'm not I'm I'm not giving no more fair warnings in the future. All right? So, believe what you want to believe. I don't care about things I say in my videos. I don't care if people believe this, if they believe that. Go listen. Rinse and repeat.
Repeat the rumor. Repeat the lie. Repeat the truth. I don't really care. Okay?
I'm just telling you right now, there are only some things that I have power over. But I do have power over my own content. Okay? What somebody else thinks about me is none of my business.
I don't read it. I don't watch it. And for everybody else that wants to think that I do, I don't care if you think that I do. Imagine reading 10 to 15 shitty things about yourself every day and how bad that would probably bring you down. There was a point when I realized because I was consumed with it.
For me to continue to look at it was not healthy for me. Okay. But when I'm in a vlog and I'm talking about something like talking to Tanya on the phone and then the next day I say something about like, "Oh, well, it feels like it's been for a long time since I've talked to Tanya." And then people think that I'm reading stuff because I'm talking about my own life. No, it's because you guys are constantly talking about me. So if you're that you think I'm I'm this is my life. Like so if you're talking about my life and I'm talking about my life, it would make it would look like you think I'm reading that stuff. I don't care. I don't care what you think. I don't care what you believe. I don't care who you are. I'm talking to the 2% of people out there. I don't even think it's that many. Okay? I can be honest with my feelings. Okay? Like it's I'm not even going to get into the nuts and bolts of it and the ridiculous stuff that's set out there. I'm just not going to. Okay. But just to put you at ease, the side accounts I have that I talk about or side accounts that are in my name. I don't have any side accounts. I don't spend my time throughout the day, okay, going in and writing fake comments. If you think that, that's cuz you do that. All right? I don't have the time for that. And if listen and that brings me down and becomes consumed with it. I don't watch videos made about me anymore unless people send it to me and say you should hear what they say. They say really nice things about you. I don't look up videos about me. I don't look up about me. I ask that people don't send this stuff to me. Okay. But when somebody sends me something because they say I want you to be aware of this because your stuff is being stolen. I appreciate that. All right. I appreciate that.
So I've given fair warning. I've told you what you can and can't do. Talk all the mad you want to talk about me.
Say whatever you have to say. Voice it to each other. You're right. I have no place over there. Okay. Talk about it amongst yourselves. Say whatever you want to say. I don't belong there. I agree with you. I don't I don't belong somewhere where people are talking about me that I don't need to hear because it's just going to make me sad about myself. I agree. Put yourself in the same shoes. Would you want to go somewhere where people are talking about you? Whether it was in reality or on I don't want to be there. So go, okay, and have that place, but you're not gonna steal my So I'm giving you fair warning. I know y'all watch my videos. You take notes on it. You time stamp it. You're hearing this, okay? I'm not joking about this. Let me make this very, very clear.
I'm not When you want to post, oh, Peter's threatening. It's not a threat.
It's a rule that you're violating. I'm just being very clear about this. All right, aces, we're on the same page, right?
Talk all the mad you want. Not gonna steal my All right. Got each other. Okay. I think that's fair. I think that's a fair negotiation. Don't you think? Okay. So, anyway, yeah, Laura and I last night, we had so much fun talking and I in retrospect though, I kind of wish that like I had gone to the pool with her. Like, we should have gone to the pool because I'm such a rule I see. I Here's a perfect example. I'm such a rule follower. I am. I'm such a rule follower and I don't want to make things worse for people. So, I was like, "No, let's just not go tonight. What if the alarm goes off and it wakes people up?" That alarm hasn't gone off and I can't even tell you how many years.
Laura, I think, was the last one that put it off. It was for her birthday. I should ask her.
Oh, Caroline's texting me.
She's saying we could go to the pool.
I'm like, "Girl, it is supposed to be Hold on. Let me look at the day.
I don't have much to do.
We can go to the pool, but it's only I have therapy on Thursday, so I've got I can't go to the pool on Thursday.
Supposed to be 75. I probably need to play it by ear one. Sounds good.
Bring your stuff in case. Who's out there talking? Is that her? She's talking to her front. In case we decide to go to the pool, you'd give very specific text messages to cousin Caroline. Am I almost at the third? Oh my god, I'm almost at an hour.
Cuz if you don't, she gets very confusion. But I don't want to go to the pool when it's 75. I know people are like, "Oh no, that's perfect." It's not perfect for me. I like heat. I like to go to the pool when it's heat.
Here's Lauren. I texted back and forth.
The camera stopped while I was doing this. I'll just go over there and see if Laura's over there when I get done with this vlog. I'll walk the dogs over there and see if she's over there for night swim.
Don't you think it's nice just to knock on your neighbor's door and talk to them and stuff? I wouldn't like that though.
I don't like when people just show up unannounced when our cameras go off cuz like like it rangs on my phone and I'm like upstairs.
I'm like I'm like I look at it. I'm like, "Is that a package or is there like, is it one of my neighbors just stopping by?" He stops by a lot. I don't really mind it. Our new neighbor next door, he always just stops by to tell me something. He's a talker like me. Oh my god, we can talk so much. He's a real talker. She never does. Her husband, the griller, used to stop by every once in a while and be like, "Hey, I want to tell you something." And so we'd sit out here and whatever. I didn't mind that, but like if like somebody just like pulled up to my house that I haven't seen in a while and be like, "I thought I'd just stop by to say hi." Be like, "Um, just getting ready to take a nap.
That's kind of my go-to excuse is that I was getting ready to take a nap. Not excuse because I do and everybody expects it. So, tonight I don't know what I'm going to watch. Okay, let's read a couple vlo comments on the vlog.
Shall we? Shall we people of the world?
Share.
H I'm share. Share. Do you believe in life after love?
Teresa. Teresa. She said, "I am so far behind." You are so far behind. Oh, there's the pool president. He's probably going to his brother-in-law's house. Um, Carissa, hey, Cararissa, she said, "Archive 81 is very good. It is very suspenseful." Okay, well then I'm going to watch that. Maybe I'll start that next. Uh, Robert said, "Sweet pickles sliced on a grilled cheese." Oh my god.
I don't know if I've ever had sweet pickles on a grilled cheese. I know that I've had um Oh, I have something to tell you about these people. So, do you remember what I was telling you about the Mini Cooper and the Mini Cooper?
They would like park and then they walk.
The guy has a ponytail. This is the couple right here. This is now I'm going to call them the Mini Cooper couple cuz they park down there and they walk through our neighborhood. I think that's real nice. It's a private neighborhood.
No solicitation, please. Of any kind. Um I don't know that I've ever had a grilled cheese. I'm not the king of cooking. I don't even know that I can make a grilled cheese. Oh, and my grilled cheese maker. I think I might have finally thrown that out. Do you remember I had that grilled cheese maker back in the day? There was basically a toaster with things in it. But Alex buys maybe I'll buy some of those grilled cheeses tomorrow if we go to Costco and put uh sweet pickles on them. Here's kind of how I eat the sweet pickles now.
I like have one a night. Like I break the jar out and then I eat one and then my fingers are all sticky. I did this Alani review today on my review channel and afterwards my fingers were so sticky from this Alani.
Megan said, "All the Dangerous Things is my all-time favorite thriller." Oh my god, it is so good, Megan. I agree with you. It is so good.
Exo Parker said, "Peter, I am a 911 dispatcher and those vehicles are probably nothing, but I recommend snapping a picture of their license plate just in case they ever need to be called on. A license plate makes all the difference. Stay safe." Okay, I will the next time I I see it. The red pickup truck, who I thought was somebody in this neighborhood, has now been parked at the pool house for two days straight.
And nobody has I haven't seen anybody go in it. I thought it was somebody from the neighborhood. I thought they were getting stuff out of the back of it, but it's been parked in the exact same spot.
Laura did know that. She noticed that.
She goes, "The red pickup truck?" I go, "No, it's a black pickup truck." She goes, "Who does the red pickup truck belong to?" I go, "I don't know why. I thought it was somebody in the neighborhood that I thought we knew who it was." I She goes, "No, but it's been parked down there for two days. It's still down there today in the same spot."
Dne, hey Dane. Dne's been over here for a long time. Said, "I am so ready for fall. I ain't cut out for the heat.
Jay said, "I'm not crying, you're crying at the 40 minute mark." I don't know.
Whenever people put time stamps, I don't know what I said at that m I don't even know what I said yesterday.
Shu. Okay, I always pronounce your name wrong.
Serus, who makes videos on YouTube. Go check him out. I I've got to still respond to your email. Oh my god, I'm so glad you commented. I am also a big hugger. However, I never know who likes hugs, so I tend to ask first. I always ask first, too. I'm like, are you a hugger? I always ask that. That's kind of a 12step thing cuz in 12step, we hug a lot and a lot of people aren't comfortable with it because they're not comfortable with boundaries and and I totally respect that. I understand that.
Um especially like in mixed company with men and women like in 12step programs, a lot of men like will approach women when like women aren't comfortable with that, which I totally understand. and like, you know, having had situations they've gone through, whatever. And so, it's kind of a 12step thing when you go up to somebody to be like like, "Are you a hugger or not?" Like, that's kind of a known thing to ask. You don't just go up to somebody and hug them.
>> Um, let's see.
Somebody asked me, but what happens?
This is a weekend update. When you cut toxic people out that all you're left with is very people. I've done that and it's a very lonely way to live. Well, I'll be honest with you, like I've cut out a lot of people, not just necessarily people that are toxic. Um, I still like catching up with people every once in a while, but I'm not good at the like once every two month dinner, if that makes sense. Like, I either want people in my life. I don't I don't really know how to keep up with that anymore. That's just something that's changed since the accident, if you want to know the truth. Um, and it's not something about those people. I mean, I still talk to people.
I still keep up with people, but like the friendships that I have today, like we talk every day. Um, and I don't really have a lot of those people in my life. And yeah, I do feel lonely. I used to talk about the difference between feeling alone and feeling lonely. Um, when I went through the accident, a lot of people showed up for me.
A and this is where I talk a lot about like after people pass away and stuff like that. After the accident, I would say like not even when I was back on YouTube, but like before that when I was just sitting here, a lot of the initial people that were super helpful and super loving and still are kind of backed away and I stopped hearing from people um from people saying like, "Hey, do you need to go somewhere?" Or like, "Hey, I'm going somewhere. Would you like to go?" Or, "Let me just get you out of the house." Like I kind of stopped hearing that from people. And so the people that did, I was kind of like, well, I realize that there are 3 in the morning friends that will show up at 3:00 in the morning and they'll show up for you, but then they kind of forget to keep up with you.
And that's life is busy. I don't blame those people for it. But as I get older, it's not just about me. It's what I can reciprocate in return. And I want reciprocal relationships. It's not just necessarily toxic people. I've always had, except for when I was using and I was young, I've always had very few people in my life. Even when Tanya and I had 10 people we hung out with in recovery, I was always kind of on the outside. I was Tanya's friend and I was our friend that lives in Oakland now.
Um, I was friends with everybody, but I was kind of always on the outside. I've always been any friend group kind of on the fringe of the outside looking in is how I felt. I felt like that as a kid. I still feel like that now. It works better for me to have smaller friends, but like when Nikki and Tanya are the most people I talk to and Tanya, you know, she's busy and has other stuff going on and you know, Nikki lives in Pittsburgh. Oh, sure. I feel lonely sometimes. It's also why I'm trying to do more stuff with my husband and show up to more stuff with his friends and stuff like that cuz I do enjoy that. And when I do that and then I go out with Caroline on a Wednesday and Alex and I go to brunch on a Sunday and then I see Tonnie once a week, you know, and then talking to everybody on the phone, I I don't feel as lonely then. I don't need to get out of the house as much as sometimes I think I do.
But if I've been in the house for like a week, I start realizing it. And it's not just being out of the house. It's like seeing somebody like having camaraderie with somebody, you know, and like laughing with somebody. Like I need that. But I don't need 20 people to do that. Um I think what it is for me is that when I've cut toxic people out of my life, I romanticize what those relationships were like. That's what makes me feel lonely sometimes is that I sometimes forget what got it to the point where I realized I can't have this person in my life anymore. Not cuz they're a horrible person, but because maybe they're so negative all the time that when I'm with them, I tend to be negative or like that's something I've really tried to cut out my life in the last couple years. I the complaining and the negativity and I just don't want it.
I want to be focused on peace and gratitude. So the people that I have in my life are not big complainers. They're not real negative people. other people that focus on positivity and happiness and gratitude. That's not to say that the other people aren't great people.
They are great people. I'm just I can be kind of a chameleon around that a little bit and then I and I I can become negative, right? And that's my responsibility.
Um but I've noticed that like I'll think of somebody and I'll think I really miss this person and like was it really as bad as I think it was?
And and through the years, what I've learned is that then I'll pick up the phone and dial up pain and two weeks later we're having dinner, we're talking every night on the phone, and then I remember, oh, this is the reason why, you know, I'm sure people have done it with me, too. I mean, I'm sure I'm not healthy for other people, just the way that people aren't healthy for me, you know? And I try not to be that in anybody's life, but I'm sure at times I've been the toxic person. If other people I'm not the only one. I'm sure if if other people are toxic in my life, I'm sure I've been toxic in other people's lives, you know, and probably you have too, anybody out there. But then I start romancing it and what I realize is I miss the good part of that relationship. This is flashing at me, so I got to get off here in a second. I miss the good part of that relationship.
And then that leads me into feeling like it's I it's not that I feel lonely, it's that I miss that relationship. Well, I don't miss the toxicity. So, I'm good with having a few people in my life today. Would I like to see more people on a more like get out and go bowling more and Yeah, I would. And what I've learned is I got to pick up the phone to do that because there are people in my life that are not toxic that are totally available to do stuff and I just don't pick up the phone to go see them. And that responsibility is on me and I wouldn't be as lonely as I if I did that. All right, I'm going to get off here before this cuts off. So, I hope you guys are having a magically amazing Tuesday. Tomorrow is cousin Funday. I love you guys. I will see you tomorrow.
If nobody else has told you yesterday, I love you guys and like I said, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye. Love you.
