Game development companies that consistently lose millions of dollars annually face significant risks of bankruptcy, which can result in players losing access to their games; this financial instability often leads to rushed, buggy patches and broken features as developers prioritize immediate revenue generation over long-term game quality and stability.

STAR CITIZEN | Why CIG keep losing MILLIONS every Year⁉️本站添加:
So, is Star Citizen really dying? It's because of the bugs, because of the terrible patch. Well, in this video, I want to talk about something else, which is how is the financial side of all of this doing? Folks, welcome to the channel, and I was reacting to Kabutops' video the other day, and by the way, the ones that were crying about a link, dude, just look him up. It's actually better for the algorithm if you look up the name and it searches the engine whatnot. The algorithm appreciates that.
I forgot about the link. It's no big deal. Anyway, he was talking about the patch being a disaster and whatnot, and I did a a reaction about how well some of the a honest YouTubers that play the game and like the game and realize, "Hey, you're you're not doing a great job, are you?
You don't seem to give much of a damn about how the game is doing. The patch is terrible, you know, and you obviously don't care. You just throw it out there anyway." Well, yes. Yes to all of that.
But, you know, this is a graphic that you usually see associated with more financial stuff. By the way, I'm going to do a live stream in my survival channel. So, if you don't know about any of that and you want to follow my survival channel and the stuff of the kind of stuff I do, it's going to be the links down below. Today, I think it's like 1:00 p.m.
uh Miami time, give or take. I'll go live in the in the channel. Um this is a kind of thing you see more on financial stuff, you know, the graphic of How are they financial It 2023 was 10 million lost. 2023, that's arguably the case. More or less, 2023, bad year, losing millions of dollars. 2024, another year of losing a bunch of money.
Exactly how much, we don't know, but again, millions of dollars, probably on the same level. And I was looking for 2025, and even though 2025 was a record year in terms of how much money they're making, it was also a record year for spending. So, the thing is, it's pretty simple. If you're making a million dollars, but you're losing two, you're still $1 million below. If you make a If you make a million dollars and you spend a million dollars, you break even. Now, that may not be all that terrible personally for someone that owns a company because you have ways of, you know, paying yourself good wages and all that [ __ ] So, yeah. Yeah, we're we're doing so poorly. We didn't make any money this year. Well, dude, you make half a million dollars. Well, but that's my salary as the CEO of the company, you know? That's sort of [ __ ] And this is something that has been often criticized heavily for Chris Roberts and CIG because you should be using the money for making the game you said you wanted the money for instead of giving yourself giant bonuses and giant salaries and mansions and yachts. Make the damn game, and once you make the game and sell it, that's that's okay.
You you make a [ __ ] ton of money if it does well. But making a ton of money with the funding you have for making the game, uh it's kind of dishonest, kind of scammy in nature, which is one of the often brought up criticisms.
But my question is this, how much can they go on losing money year after year, you know? Why is Is this maybe why we see so much desperation with the ship sales? Is this why we see embarrassing situations like 4.8 being as broken as it is and they still, you know, just throw it like they just vomit on your in your face like there you go, [ __ ] there you go. Oh, yeah, the Iron Clad, yeah, it's crap. It doesn't even work. It's going to work maybe eventually if I give a [ __ ] one of these days.
How much more can you continue doing this? Because it's one It's one thing to screw people over. It's one thing to sell on eternal alpha you clicked on a knowledge maybe soon TM. It is yeah, it it is a pledge not a purchase. All of that all of those affirmations from the simps, that's all good.
But eventually you have to make some actual money in the books for the people that invested for for the people that are funding you, which you know, seems to be quite a bit of that going on. You know, they're getting money.
Isn't it a little bit suspicious? You know, who are you getting money from that doesn't care that you'll keep on losing money. If I lose money year after year, millions of dollars, how how the [ __ ] do I convince people? Some of these questions and it's YouTube, you have to be careful with what you say. There's, you know, you cannot just throw accusations about you know, washing you know, your laundry machine when you got your clothes dirty and whatnot.
Uh that sort of suspicion without actual but this is the kind of thing that brings attention to What?
What are you doing exactly? Oh, we're just we're just a business that loses money year after year. Okay.
Huh.
Yeah, all right. That's that's strange, isn't it? Now, on what we care about which is a damn game, the thing is are we going to be all that surprised when one day you go and log in and there's nothing there?
The company goes bankrupt. The company liquidates its assets because well, because it kept on losing money year after year.
And the thing about oh, but when Squadron 42 comes out and there's there's nothing, man. There's nothing.
They cannot even get a [ __ ] patch to work. They you don't have a working inventory. You don't have a working model of anything. The engine itself is incapable of dealing with with a broken mess that we have. How is this going to And I was explaining before, this man has not made a single game in his life.
Oh, yeah, but that that game, they won he did when he was working for someone else. No, no, no. On his own, his own company, him alone.
Never did a a single video game on his own. Never deliver. Oh, I mean, it doesn't matter if you worked for uh you know, a [ __ ] if Oh, yeah, I worked for the United States. Well, you're not the United States. You're not the US government. You're not the president. You work for someone and you did a better or worse job, but you were working for someone else.
As I said, on your own terms, you didn't deliver a single game ever in your life.
And the 14-year experience we have and the billion dollars that you had for funding doesn't seem to show that anything else can be expected anytime soon. And Squadron 42, it's Gillian Anderson and and and Hamill, the Star Wars guy. It looks kind of >> [laughter] >> Yeah, we have Henry Henry Cavill and a bunch of good actors with which I guess he got some nice you know, selfies with them, I I assume.
And a couple clips, but it's just a couple clips for a trailer. There's nothing else. We don't see any proper gameplay.
And it's been in theory being polished for for at least 2 years now.
And there's no end in sight. There's no release date. Oh, but GT Grand Theft Auto comes out. We're not going to release when Grand Theft Auto comes out.
Okay, but but you you said you would. So, and it's not going to be next year either because one of the things we do know is that if you have a game to release within 12 months, you go and you say, "Hey, release this November 1st, January 2nd, whatever." If you're a year away, you start advertising that [ __ ] And if there's one thing we know from CIG is they don't miss the chance to advertise anything. Hell, they advertise, promote, and hype conversations they have by scratching their balls. it would be nice to one day have they make a they make hour-long videos about things that don't even exist and they never plan on doing.
They make 90% of their promotion material is about nothing. Nothing that they have. Nothing that they plan on doing. And even the few things they actually do, like for example, engineering, refueling, you know, yeah, the it's it's not even in the game anymore.
What is it that you do about engineering exactly? You put fuses where? I mean, when they tried to kind of shittily implement something like that, it failed disastrously and they had to pull it back. Now, I you know, you don't do any of that. Who the [ __ ] does that in a game? You know, I know, but you need to fix things with your light and your multi-tool and the thing. Well, no, because you have this this terribly punishing mechanic where everything is a [ __ ] pain in the ass and this is kind of pushing it too much and people oh, my ship is broken. No, no, no, don't go away, backer. Come back in. You were supposed to fix it.
Yeah, no, I'm not [laughter] going to do that. Okay, I'll I'll take it away. So, they nerf their own, you know, engineering [ __ ] that they spend like a year talking about and it's now nothing. The distribution centers, nothing. Refueling, nothing.
And how much longer can we do this? I have no idea, man. I honestly I'm surprised that it's still going on now and it's it's kind of strange. It's kind of strange a company that keeps on losing millions of dollars each year is still up and around. Anyway, that's all for now. See you later. Take care. Have a good day.
