Veganism, originally defined in 1951 by Leslie Cross as 'the doctrine that man should live without exploiting animals,' has been progressively redefined over decades, shifting from a principle of animal emancipation to a diluted lifestyle concept focused on health, environmental concerns, and welfare rather than abolition of exploitation.

The Distortion of Veganism追加:
Everything you've been told about veganism is the watered-down version.
1943, [music] Leslie Cross writes a letter criticizing the Vegetarian Society. Donald Watson sees it and [music] coins a new word, vegan. With LC Shirley and others around him, Cross writes the definition. Not a menu, [music] not a lifestyle, a principle, the emancipation of animals from human exploitation. [music] By 1979, the society rewrites the definition.
[music] The same year, the man who wrote it dies. Convenient.
Now, it's flexitarian, [music] welfare, plant-based. The principle lost and abolition rebranded into something they could sell. [music] But the original is still there. Almost no one talks about it.
If we do, the animals have hope.
