Why Tangem Partnering with Chainlink Is Actually Insane...Added:
What's going on everyone? So, some pretty big news actually. Tangum just announced today that they are just double check something here. Uh, Tangum announced that they are partnering with Chin Link.
And the reason they're doing this is to help eliminate, not completely eliminate, but to um help eliminate KYC.
And I'll get to what I mean by that in just a second. Uh, but the ultimate goal with this is to basically make using uh different things like buying crypto and selling crypto and even Tangent Pay to make all that much more seamless because crypto right now is not that seamless.
And the ultimate goal, at least from what I've experienced with Tang, is to make things as seamless as possible. And that's why I believe this update is so huge. [clears throat and cough] So, before I get into exactly what this means, and sorry if my voice is um a little off, I'm just getting over a cold or or or maybe it's allergies. Not really sure. Either way, my apologies.
But I also have some other big news regarding Tandem, and this just all happens to fall on the same day. Um, Tang is running a massive, massive campaign right now where if you purchase a wallet um, now between, so May 5th to June 5th, you have the chance to win $5,000 in Bitcoin. Uh, you could also win a brand new 256 gig iPhone, what is it, 17 now? Um, along with a bunch of other prizes. Um, but on top of that, they're having a buy 1 get one 50% off deal. Plus, you get 20% off your order.
Plus, you get $20 in free Bitcoin and free shipping. And that's assuming you're buying the the buy one get one deal. Uh you get all that uh between now and and June 5th. So, the link to that deal uh it's my my custom link that they gave me. It's down in the description of this live stream. But even if you don't want to do the buy 1 get one deal, you still get the 20% off plus the free Bitcoin. And you still get entered into the drawing for $5,000 in Bitcoin. and the free iPhone and whatever else they're offering and they will uh announce winners live um on the Discord so it'll all be very transparent and and everyone will know um if you won or didn't win. So definitely take advantage of that.
But let's get into the main thing and of course if you have any questions, comments, concerns, drop them in the chat and I'll be sure to answer them. Uh let me share my screen here.
So yeah, I was just browsing today on X and I saw this post from Tandem.
Tangum's partnering with Chain Link to build the identity and compliance layer that will unlock new financial services in the Tangum wallet. So what does that actually mean for us as users? Uh well, some services like Tandem Pay as well as on and off ramp. So, anytime you buy crypto or sell crypto through Tandem, you generally have to go through the KYC or know your customer process uh to use those services. This isn't a tandem rule. This is required by law for um these services to exist and for these exchanges to operate. Now, generally though, when you're buying crypto through not just Tanga, but any cold wallet, they have multiple partners that they have partnered with. So, let's say, you know, you buy crypto today and you use Moonpay, but maybe you buy crypto a week from now and there's an exchange with a better rate. Well, the Tangent wallet or whatever cold wallet will generally choose the one with the best rate. So, if you're using a different exchange that next time, you have to go through the whole KYC process again. And we've all been through it. You have to, you know, upload your ID. You have to enter your social security number. You have to enter your address, your full name, you have to do a selfie. And every time you want to use these services, assuming you're using a different partner within the wallet, you have to resubmit all this information. And that's where the uh Tang and Chain link partnership comes in. More specifically, they have integrated a chain link ACE.
So basically, instead of having to go through KYC every single time with Chain Link Ace, you all you have to do is do your KYC once and then anytime you're interacting with DeFi or you know you're buying or selling crypto or using Tangent Pay with your specific Tangent wallet, you'll never have to do KYC again because it's all handled by that that initial time that you did it with Chain Link Ace. [clears throat] And if you don't know what chain link is, it's not a blockchain, uh, but it's basically a bridge that connects blockchain based smart contracts to real world data. So in this case, it's uh using smart contracts to um to basically make it so you only have to enter your personal information one time and you have access to the entire Tangum ecosystem basically indefinitely.
So ultimately the goal is is just a better user experience. Uh, and this has been, you know, an annoying thing. If you've ever bought crypto through Tandem or again any cold wallet and you've used the different platforms, you have to go through the KYC multiple times. You no longer have to do this. So, I I don't know of any other cold wallet um manufacturer who who has has integrated something like this. And I think a lot more wallets will begin to do this because the shift that I'm seeing in in cold storage specifically is harder wallet companies. Most of the hardware wallets on the market today are secure.
They're going to secure your crypto. I mean, they're offline devices. It's virtually impossible to not secure your crypto.
So given that security is a given when you're getting a hardware wallet, the main focus for a lot of these hardware wallet manufacturers now is user friendliness, usability, creating a more seamless uh enjoyable experience.
And I think that's why Tandem has risen to the top and that's why I recommend it so often is because it's ultimately in my opinion out of the 35 hardware wallets that I own and have tested. In my opinion, it's one of the more enjoyable options. But we're also seeing um Ledger move more towards usability.
Like they just recently updated their app uh the Ledger wallet app.
Um even wallets like Treasure just with the new Treasure Safe 7 they released.
It's a lot more user friendly. It's their first wireless wallet. You can use it with Bluetooth. It has a battery.
And I think if we want to see crypto mass adoption, this is what really needs to happen. We need things to be more seamless. And we need it to be uh you shouldn't even know or or really, you know, realize that you're interacting with different blockchains or using crypto. It should just work. Kind of like the internet right now. It just works. You open up your phone, you jump on YouTube, you jump on, you know, Google, and it just works. You don't need to know why.
It just happens. That's exactly where crypto is heading. And I truly believe Tandem, at least in the self-custodial hardware wallet space, I think Tang is leading the way. And we were starting to see a lot of other manufacturers follow.
Um, another thing that, you know, that we've seen wallets, I don't want to say copy, but have have been following closely behind Tandem is creating like uh seedless cards like you know, Ledger, they recently launched their um their recovery card. So, this hold your seed phrase. It's a pin protected card that holds your seed phrase. It's a similar concept to tandem. Uh I think even treasure has talked about doing something like this. So again the ultimate end goal is a better user experience without sacrificing security and that's exactly what this uh tandem and chain link partnership is focusing on. And I think it's huge uh because we all know at least we should by now that the the number one reason why people lose money in crypto is user error. It's not because anyone anyone's hardware wallet is getting hacked. uh hardware wallets don't really get hacked. There have been a few physical hacks like the hacker needed physical possession of the device. Uh but in terms of just using your your hardware wallet at home, they don't get hacked. It's an offline device unless you make the error of connecting it to the internet and signing a malicious transaction, signing contract approvals.
So ultimately, if you're not using your hardware wallet the way that it was designed to be used to secure your crypto, then yes, that bad things can happen. And this applies to every hardware wallet. [clears throat] Um, but I feel pretty confident saying that most hardware wallets on the market today will secure your crypto if you use it the way it's meant to be used.
Um, another thing that I wanted to touch on in regards to crypto security in general, but also Tandem, I released a video yesterday, how to send crypto between Tangent wallets and also how to set up multiple Tangent wallets. Uh, one of the main reasons I launched that video is because I had a lot of people asking me, well, one, how do I send crypto between Tangent wallets? And two, how many hardware wallets do I actually need? Now I can't answer that for you because it really depends on you know your own your own situation but we have clear examples that if you do not diversify or split up your crypto between multiple wallets or even multiple crypto exchanges uh it's a huge risk. I think you know a good example would be FTX in the exchange space. If you if you held all your crypto on FTX, odds are you probably lo lost it all. And if you didn't lose it all, you had to wait, you know, three years to get any of that back. Uh, in terms of the cold wallet space, it's just as risky. Look at Brandon Larok.
Brandon Laro was a he's a retired man.
He had $3 million of XRP stored on his Ellie Pal hardware wallet. He messed up, made a mistake, and he lost his and his wife's full retirement. All $3 million worth. Yet, if he had split that crypto, even between just two different wallets, he would at least still, let's just say he split it 50-50, he would at least still have 1.5 million.
So, the reason I made that video uh yesterday, I highly recommend you go watch it if you haven't, is it shows you how to split your crypto into multiple Tang wallets, [clears throat] and you can do this with any brand of wallet. I just think Tandem has implemented it so that it's um it's easy to do which again is is one of my main goals uh teaching crypto security is to make it easy for anyone and everyone. So with Tandem you can set up and manage as many wallets as you want in the app. So you could buy two cards today and you know if you decide three months down the road that you want another Tangent wallet, you can buy another pack and add it to your app and you have two completely separate wallets with their own seed phrases where you can then split your crypto between both wallets and you have the added security of both wallets. That way if you do make a mistake and something happens to one of your wallets, it's not game over. You still have your other wallet. So, I do highly encourage um you know, diversifying your crypto.
I have I have several Tangent wallets at this point. And even if you don't want to use Tang, you could have like a Tang and a Ledger or a Ledger and a Treasure or a Treasure and a Tangum, however you want to do it. Um again, I like Tang because you can manage the wallets all in the same app. And to switch between your wallets, it's super simple. You just swipe left and right. And I can actually show you again if you just watch that video I posted yesterday, it's really easy.
But like here in the Tangent app, if you just swipe, I just switched to my other wallet and then I can swipe back and you can transfer crypto between it. So if you only have one Tangent wallet right now, might want to consider getting a second one, especially with the crazy deal they're going on right now. um or at the very least even getting another brand of wallet, whether that's a ledger, a treasure, a one key, whatever your preference is.
Um but like April, you know, just a few days ago, April was one of the worst months since February 2022 that we've had for crypto losses. Uh $650 million of crypto lost in April. A majority of that, over 70% was due to wallet compromises. What does that mean exactly? That means user error. So, people not using their wallets correctly.
That's why it's so freaking important to use multiple wallets because especially if you're newer to crypto, and even myself, I'm not immune to this, but eventually you're bound to make a mistake. Whether that mistake results in you losing all of your crypto, it depends on what the mistake is. But one way you can guarantee that you don't lose all your crypto is to separate your crypto into multiple wallets.
So, [clears throat] um, but yeah, and if you want to watch that video that I was just talking about how to add multiple Tangent wallets uh to your app and how to transfer crypto between them, super easy. I'll make sure to leave that video up here and you can watch it next. Uh, of course, if you're watching this later, I mean, that said, I do want to jump over to the chat here and answer all of your questions, comments, concerns. Doesn't have to be about Tandem. This could be about anything. And just remember, um, what we have going on right now. Insane incentive for Tangent Wallet. I think their craziest deal ever.
Uh, even like comparable to Black Friday. So, if you buy a Tangum wallet between now and June 5th, you're entered into a drawing for $5,000 in Bitcoin, a free uh iPhone 17, as well as a bunch of other rewards. On top of that though, they also have buy 1 get one 50% off.
So, you can get six cards. It's two three-acks, so six cards total for uh only $90 and you get $20 in free Bitcoin on top of that. Uh that's with an additional 20% discount on top of the buy one get one deal and you get free shipping uh plus you're entered into that drawing. And the cool thing about buying the the buy one get one the six cards is you can set up and manage three different wallets in the app with those six cards. That'd be uh two cards per wallet. So you can definitely do that if you want to do that. If you don't want to buy the buy one get one deal, you can still just buy a two or a three-pack or even the tandem ring and you're still going to get 20% off free Bitcoin and you're going to be entered into the drawing to win the $5,000 in Bitcoin or the free um iPhone 17. And they have a bunch of other prizes. They have over a hundred different prizes. I'm just telling you like the cool ones.
Um let's see, what else do they have?
They have a Tandem Pro kit. You can win a Tandem ring. You can Like I said, win iPhone 17. I think there's only one Bitcoin reward. There is several iPhone 17 rewards. And I'm sure there's a bunch of tandem related uh prizes like the ring that you can win as well. Uh so again, have about a month to to do that.
Link to that only uh is in the description. If you want that additional 20% discount, you got to use my link. It uses my um uses my discount code combined with their discount code combined with their current sale. Uh use that link and you'll automatically be entered into the prize prize drawing as well. But let me jump over to the chat here. I want to talk with y'all, see what's going on on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon where I am.
So, let's start with Max Toshi. Uh hello. by mistake when I try to swap coins in Tandem. I gave it unlimited access approval for the token so I can swap it using a decentralized exchange.
Now I'm stuck without approval. Any help? Uh yeah. So this is something that I've been touching on and this is what I talk about. This is what I'm talking about when I say you need to use your hardware wallet correctly. If you're connecting your hardware wallet, whether that's a Tang, a ledger, a treasure, if you're connecting it to decentralized platforms like a DEX, like a crypto uh mining platform, or a airdrop platform, you're basically making your cold wallet a hot wallet because you are signing unlimited transaction approvals. And an unlimited um transaction approval or unlimited approval basically gives that specific digital contract access to that specific address in your wallet indefinitely. So basically forever. So even if the platform you're using today is safe, which all of the all of the features that you know, Tang and other harder wallets offer like the swapping features and things like that, they're all secure. They're not going to use not secure providers to offer those services. But what can happen is if that provider or if that service is ever compromised in the future and you've already signed that unlimited uh contract approval, it still has access to your wallet. So if a bad guy got a hold of that uh of that contract, they basically have access to to your wallet.
And this is when you see people say, "Oh, my hardware wallet got hacked."
Like I just [clears throat] I saw several comments over the last two days of people saying, "Oh, my Ledger Nano X was hacked." Your Ledger Nano X wasn't hacked. You messed up. And a lot of people just don't know that. And so I know it's confusing, but what usually ends up happening is you sign a some kind of transaction using your hardware wallet and it's a malicious one and you basically gave the scammer access to your wallet and they can then drain your crypto. So even if it doesn't happen a day, it is possible that the contract is compromised in the future and one day you could wake up and all your crypto could be gone. So that's why I say you really need to designate and decide, you know, what wallet you're using for what.
You should have one main cold storage wallet that you don't connect to any website. Um you can send crypto to and from it from the exchanges. That's not the same thing. That's safe to do. But you need one dedicated cold wallet and you need a separate one. Uh this could be a cold wallet preferably or just a hot wallet. That one you keep a limited amount of crypto on uh and that's the one that you use for all of your risky DeFi stuff. But if you're using your one cold wallet to do everything, you may as well not be using a cold wallet because if you're connecting it to all these websites, it's it's not cold anymore. It is now a hot wallet.
Um, so Max Toshi, sorry for the long rant, but to answer your question, what you could do now is you could do something like uh use revoke.cash and I'll drop it in the chat. And this is just a website that you can go to to um you have to connect your wallet and then it'll show you all the contract approvals that you currently have. And all you have to do for each approval uh is click the revoke button and it will revoke that contract access.
uh you'll have to pay the transaction fee, which is the the blockchain network fee, whatever it is, it's probably only a few cents right now. Um you could also click the button that says revoke all contracts. So if you have multiple contracts, you can revoke all of them at once. That's what that's what I would personally do. Um, but moving forward, it's best to use a completely separate wallet because even though you can revoke the contract approval, that doesn't change the fact that you could sign a malicious transaction um, right from the get- go, which again isn't is very unlikely to happen directly through the Tandem app or the Ledger app or the Treasure app because they use vetted platforms. But if you're going off and exploring DeFi on your own and you're finding different websites to interact with, that's when the real threat comes in and you you are likely to lose your crypto doing that, even if you're using excuse me, even if you're using a hardware wallet. So that's what I would do moving forward. Um, again, the tandem deal in the description only comes around once a year. I mean, I've never seen this exact deal. It's the best deal I think I've seen, but I would definitely take advantage of that. maybe consider getting a second Tangum wallet.
That way you have one you can use as your main savings account wallet and one you can use for more risky stuff.
Um Lynn K says, "I'm not sure how Tandem Tech works. Is it paired with my specific phone? If I move and change phone numbers, will my Tandem card still work?" Thank you. Uh Lynn, I I know you commented on the channel a few days ago and I I actually replied to your comment, but I'll answer it here since you're here. Thanks for joining us. Um, your Tang wallet is is not uh it doesn't depend on your phone number at all. Has nothing to do with your phone number. Has nothing to do with your phone provider. Um, I have a Tang wallet set up on a phone that doesn't even have a phone number. I just use it on Wi-Fi. Um, so it has nothing to do with your phone number. So the way that Tang works and and other hardware wallets where its security comes from is the keys that are used to access and manage your crypto which crypto only lives on the blockchain. It doesn't live in wallets. It doesn't live in apps. It doesn't live on exchanges. It only exists on the blockchain.
But to manage your specific accounts or addresses on the blockchain, you [clears throat] do that with a key. This key is like your password. It's also your digital signature.
>> [snorts] >> So what hardware wallets like Tangum do is they take that key and they store it offline in a secure environment. In the case of Tang, it's in an EAL 6 plus secure chip, which is the same kind of chip used in like electronic passports and bank cards.
It takes that uh key, stores it offline away from all the threats of the internet. That's where the security comes from. Um, now in terms of the Tandem app, that's just a middleman, a user interface that communicates transaction data back and forth between the blockchain and your offline cards.
So, um, it doesn't the phone doesn't really matter. Even though, you know, you you do have to use it with a phone, uh, you can easily switch phones if you wanted to. You could use your Tang wallet on 10 different phones at the same time if you wanted to. Uh, but you always need the physical card and your access code to use your wallet. So, let's just say, uh, Lynn, let's say you're switching to a new phone or you you want to use a second phone today.
All you'd have to do to get it onto your other phone is download the Tangent app, scan any one of your cards that's already set up because a key is already generated. It's stored on the card. So, uh, download the Tangent app, open up the app, tap scan card, scan any one of your cards. It'll say this wallet is already set up. Um, you say okay, I know. And then you just enter your access code and then you're in. It's that simple. And then anytime you want to transact or approve transactions, you always need that physical confirmation on your phone. So, of course, you know, usually it'll be it'll use either biometrics or your access code depending how you have it set up and you just hold it up to your phone.
Transaction confirmed. Um, so yeah, hopefully that answers your question.
[clears throat] MNEST, what's going on?
Thanks for joining the live stream. The live stream. Ah, just kidding. It's the live stream.
Um, Andy Bass says, "What does it mean for frozen accounts currently?" Andy Bass, I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I can uh I can assume here.
I'm assuming you maybe tried to purchase crypto um maybe through the Tang app and your your funds are currently frozen.
That means uh whatever thirdparty exchange you use to purchase that crypto, you need to complete the KYC process before they release your funds.
So this new update, the chain link tandem integration uh doesn't change that right now. That's that's something that you did before this um before this has been integrated. So you need to go to that specific exchange and complete the KYC process there and they will release your funds. [clears throat] Um, Gold LX Furry says, "Just got my Tangent wallet. Using it uh for two weeks as a main gambling wallet." Nice.
Well, it sounds like you you at least know uh the proper way to use your wallets. It sounds like hopefully you have another dedicated cold wallet that you use for your savings and then you're using the Tandem as your gambling wallet. So, good job there. Um, let's see. Nadine Lambo says, "Tandem doesn't interact with phone numbers. Just you need the Tandem card and the security pin." Exactly.
We got a bunch of Tandem experts in the chat. Shout out to all of you. Uh, you guys rock.
Let's see. Let's see.
Oh. Oh, yeah. Uh, Jeremy says, "Appreciate you. Go to Tandem. Got Tang due to you." Awesome. Yeah. I mean, [clears throat] Tang's arguably the the best wallet for beginners and even more advanced users.
Um, and I know like a lot of people who who watch the channel, they're just like, "This guy just gets paid to shill Tandem." Um, that's not why I shill Tandem. The reason I recommend Tandem so often is because, uh, well, I have 10 different Tandem wallets myself that I use and enjoy using, and it's the wallet that I recommend to my friends and family who are just getting into crypto.
And it's knowing that user air is the number one reason why people lose money in crypto. It makes sense that you would recommend and want to use a product where you're less likely to make an error. And I believe Tandem is that product. Uh that also doesn't mean that I don't still recommend Ledger and Treasure and One Key, which are some of my other favorite wallet brands. It really just depends on what you're looking for. Tandem is not for everyone.
If you don't like using your phone in crypto, you shouldn't be using Tang wallet because Tang is a mobile only wallet. [clears throat] Um, all that to say, I appreciate your support and I'm glad you're enjoying your Tangent wallet. Jeremy Laserface says, "We can have as many wallets as we want, but how many accounts can we have on one wallet?" So, yeah, the Tangent app allows you to set up um, as far as I know, an unlimited number of wallets.
As far as how many accounts, sub accounts you're talking about for each wallet, you can set up 20 sub accounts for each wallet.
So, you know, if you had three Tangent wallets, like if you took advantage of the buy one get one deal they have going on right now using the link in the description of this live stream, uh you could set up three different wallets.
So, you'd have three different wallets all with their own seed phrase. Plus, you could create 20 different sub accounts for each wallet with a so you have a total of 60 accounts.
Absolutely insane.
I just would caution be careful not you have to find the you have to find the the fine line between you know security and complexity because I can only imagine if you have 60 different accounts where you have crypto held that could be a lot to manage. So personally I would never have 60 different accounts. That seems like uh pretty insane. You also have to think about taxes and and things like that. Each address is its own, you know, taxable event that you'd have to to consider.
Um, but yeah, I mean, nonetheless, the option is there.
Uh, Naen Lambo says 10 accounts per wallet. It's actually 20 accounts per wallet. I have tested this and confirmed with Tandem, unless they've updated it since, but I don't think they have.
Uh, Carl says, "Bought three Tang wallets per your advice, but still trying to figure out how to fully unbank. also really uncomfortable using DeFi per April incidents. Uh yeah, Carl.
So fully unbanking.
Pretty hard to do. I'd say 99% of people who are in crypto are not unbanked. Uh the majority of people, myself included, still use crypto exchanges, which are centralized entities that um that ultimately require KYC or some form of it. Uh we still use that to buy crypto and to sell crypto. If you wanted to unbank, you would really have to your only option would be like peer-to-peer um websites where you basically have to uh interact with other people who are selling you crypto uh for cash. And even then, you're still finding yourself using something like PayPal or Zeli or some kind of payment application, which again also requires KYC. So then if you're really getting down to the nitty-gritty and you're really trying to unbank, you would actually have to go to a website, which they do have these, where you meet up in person and you do the the transaction there. So you give them, you know, you want $1,000 in Bitcoin, you hand $1,000 cash and they send Bitcoin directly to your wallet.
That would be the only way. Now, when it comes to selling your crypto and using it in the real world, well, you would also have to uh probably meet up in person if you ever wanted to sell it.
So, it's just not a a it's not something that most people are willing to do or should do. Um, kind of dangerous, but it can be done. [clears throat] Now, as far as DeFi, I totally agree with you. DeFi is, let's be honest, guys. The the crypto space is a cesspool. Uh, it's not the only industry full of scammers, but it is full of scammers. 99% of DeFi projects, I would say, are are complete scams. Um, so it is very very risky interacting with DeFi. If you want to look, you don't have to interact with DeFi to be to be into crypto. Um, you know, you could just you could just buy crypto, put it onto a hardware wallet, hold it, and then, you know, if your goal is to to make some profit, just sell it when it goes up. Like, you could just do that, right? Just eliminate the risk and and stop messing with DeFi. DeFi is so appealing because uh I think it's sold as like this crazy thing where you can make millions of dollars and [clears throat] there's so much opportunity which there is that but it's a very small prof percentage of DeFi.
And if you're doing things if you're considering doing things like staking crypto to earn rewards or uh earning yield uh one you can do all of that natively through your cold wallet like Ledger, Treasure, Tandem all offer some form of staking and and earning yield on stable coins. You don't need to use an exchange to do that. You don't need to go outside of your wallet to do that.
You can do it natively um through the the thirdparty partners that these wallets provide.
But even then I would say really consider if if doing something like staking is worth your time uh the risk and and your money because for example when you stake crypto uh one you're paying you're paying staking fees. So there are fees that uh the third party will take from you and the wallet manufacturer will also take their chunk.
Uh you're paying blockchain fees which you know is probably pretty negligible if you're especially right now you know maybe a few cents. Um, but then you also had to consider taxes. So any rewards that you're earning from staking or yield, those are all taxable events.
So you really have to consider if it's worth your time, effort, and risk after that's all said and done. Personally for me, I don't really think it is, unless you just have a crap ton of money just sitting there. [clears throat and cough] you know, if you have like a $100,000 just sitting there um in a stable coin, basically, you know, losing value because it's pegged to the the the price of the US dollar, then sure, maybe you want to earn a a 4% APY on your on your uh USDT or whatever it may be.
But just make sure it's worth it because if if you're doing it to make a hundred bucks a year and then you take out the the 35% fee and then taxes at the end of the year is probably not worth your time. And there's always going to be risks with those things because you are interacting with digital contracts that could be compromised.
Uh so all that to say the less you do in crypto the less risk. Um but you know the saying high risk high reward. So, uh, just know you don't have to use DeFi to be in crypto, but if you want to explore that, do it responsibly. Have a dedicated cold storage wallet that you use just for storing your crypto and then have a more risky wallet that you use for DeFi. It's my recommendation.
[clears throat] Um, let's see, where was I? Dude 2909 said, "Just joined. What is chain link?"
So chain link is a it's basically like a secure bridge that connects um blockchain based smart contracts uh mainly on Ethereum and other Ethereum virtual machine networks but it connects basically the digital world to the real world. So with this Tandem uh chain link integration, what it's actually doing is it allows you to uh go through the KYC process, which you could say is like a real world process where you have to submit your ID, you have to do a selfie, you have to, you know, give your name, social security number, and I'm just talking like this is what's required by law when you interact with uh crypto exchanges. Um and what chain link does is it it basically will will securely have all that data um associated with your wallet address. So now anytime that you use your Tangent wallet to interact with, you know, different exchanges uh through the app, you don't have to go through this complicated KYC process every single time. It'll just automatically be done because chain link has already taken care of it. Um that's that's the use or the the utility in this context at least.
Uh but chain link is used in a lot of different industries. [clears throat] Uh Naen says link chain link is a blockchain protocol top rated crypto check market cap for info. I mean yeah they have the link cryptocurrency not really uh talking about the area talking about the utility that it's uh providing us as tangent wallet users. Um cross central what's going on thanks for joining the live. So chain link just makes it easier to buy with debit or credit and is not integrating the other services that chain link provides. Uh the information that we got from Tangum is it's going to make the KYC process uh 10 times more seamless. That's all that that's all we know so far.
Um so with Tangent Pay, for example, you're you're only going to have to go through KYC once. If you're using the buy, sell, and swap feature through the Tangent app, you only have to go through KYC once. You never have to do it multiple times like you do now. Um now, will more stuff come from that? I would imagine so. I mean, Tandem literally says, um, [cough and clears throat] Tang is partnering with Chainlink to build the identity and compliance layer that will unlock new financial services in the Tangent wallet. Basically, where I see Tangum is heading to be they're going to be an all-in-one crypto money wallet and app. So, their main obviously the main thing with Tandem, it's remaining self-custodial. That means you're always going to be in full control of your keys. No one will ever have access to your crypto. You'll always be able to be your own bank. On top of that though, if you want to spend your crypto in the real world, you'll be able you can already do that with Tangent Pay. Uh so, and this is insane.
Tangent is they're really combining the the the crypto and decentralization layer with the real real world so that we can actually use our crypto for real world real world things. Um, I think that's really what's missing in crypto right now, too.
And I mean, Tandem is crushing it.
[clears throat] So, I'm excited.
Uh, let's see. Uh, Blue Hayes says, "All these crypto influencers shilling coins and wallets to make money off referrals.
Crypto is cooled. They've been hyping massive gains for years and it's not happening. Crypto is cooled." Uh, I don't I definitely don't hype um coins or or crypto. Um, as far as making money off wallet referrals, I mean, yeah, welcome to 2026, my guy. Uh, this is the internet. People run businesses online.
Um, so yeah, I don't know why you're surprised, [clears throat] but crypto is not over. Uh, it's been known for a long time that 99% of the crypto projects are complete trash, but the technology is solid. It's not going anywhere, and we have proof of that. uh you know with with regulations being implemented and people scrambling to figure out how to um implement crypto into our digital world because the world is only becoming more digital. Um so yeah, I understand where you might be frustrated. Crypto is down. A lot of people are losing out.
But the technology is here to stay. And if you're going to be in crypto using this technology, you damn sure better know how to do it securely, which is the most secure way that I know how to do it is using an offline device like a hardware wallet.
[clears throat] Um, if you're upset that people make money for providing information and and doing things, you might not want to be on the internet uh or or anywhere in the real world because everywhere you go, someone is making money because they're providing a product, a service, entertainment.
That's how life goes. Uh, selling to Tahiti says, "You can." Yes. Can you briefly explain Tandem accounts versus a separate Tang wallet and does an account provide separate receiving address?
Thanks.
>> [cough and clears throat] >> Um, so tandem sub accounts, uh, it allows you to generate and organize different accounts from the same seed phrase in your wallet. Um, so that said, if you generate a new account from your main Tangum wallet, you actually do get a a new receipt address.
And if you want to learn more about this, just go watch my video. I made an entire video on um, Tang accounts. Let me just see what that video is called. I would probably go watch that video.
Um, if you just type in Tangent Multi-Count on YouTube, you can watch my video and I break down exactly how it all works.
The difference with uh the accounts and getting a completely new Tangent wallet is [clears throat] that allows you to set up completely different seed phrases. So, you know, you'd have seed phrase number one in this wallet, seed phrase number two in this wallet.
Whereas if you're using one Tangent wallet with multiple accounts, all those uh private keys or and addresses are being generated from your one master key.
Dude uh 2099 says, "Why does it say no KYC in the thumbnail? I thought it was for like Tangent Pay Visa card. Can you explain everything better?" Um I already explained it pretty in in depth. Um it's impossible to not have any KYC. Uh what this is doing is limiting the number of times you need to uh go through the KYC process to one. So basically um the more financial services that Tandem implements into their product, the more KYC you would have to go through.
>> [clears throat] >> So, anything anytime tandem adds a new um exchange where you can buy, sell or swap crypto or new features like Tangent Pay or um you know any kind of service where you're interacting with a centralized platform.
To do that, you have to go through KYC.
That is the law. What Tandem has done is they're basically routing your KYC through the chain link uh through chain link ACE, which means you only ever have to do KYC once. So, you know, if a new feature comes out and it requires KYC, you'll basically just it'll be done automatically. So, it's like you don't have to do KYC. Now, of course, it's still it's still happening in the background. You just don't have to deal with it. That's what I mean.
Um, good questions.
Let's see. Marv85 says, "I installed Tangent Pay and got the uh VC on my new wallet, then tried to install on my old wallet, which caused my new VC to not work uh virtual card, and now I don't have access to Tangent Pay as my KYC says rejected."
Um, not too sure about that, Marv.
Sounds like maybe what happened is you essentially set up two different Tang pay accounts uh unintentionally and so now there's some kind of confusion.
Uh I would suggest reaching out to Tandem or even the the KYC uh provider which I forget what their email is.
Um Tang Visa, but yeah, you're probably going to have to reach out to them to get that situated. I wish I could um give you more advice, but I still don't even have access to tangent pay, so I haven't really got to play around and experience it u myself. So, um Holy Freehole says, "Revoke.cash also partnered with Fairside, which is retail wallet insurance." Interesting. That's pretty cool.
Uh Deep Ether says, "Everise has this feature."
Awesome. Glad to see more people using it. Um, Neovo says, "Bought the Tangerine with two cards after watching your videos on all the cold wallets. Getting back into the game as an adult after [clears throat] um losing Bitcoin after loosely um mining Bitcoin in 2013 as a 13-year-old and a lot has changed. Uh, super cool, by the way, that you're mining Bitcoin that young. Glad you're getting back into it. You know, I think I think it is the future. Um, if anything, it's just it's nice to have kind of like a set of eyes on crypto and where it's going. And like you said, it's already changed so much so much just in the last 13 years.
Um, but I'm glad you're using self-custody and doing things securely.
So, props to you. [clears throat] Uh, ever revoke says deep ether. Okay.
Um, Zep Zepink says, "Hi, good person.
What's the easiest way to enter the Bitcoin mining lottery?" Yeah, I can definitely touch on that. So, again, um, Tandem right now, they're having a massive deal. I think their their craziest deal yet. Um, you get 20% off your order plus you get free Bitcoin or you can even get buy 1 get one 50% off.
Um, which also come which also stacks with the 20% off plus $20 in free Bitcoin plus free shipping. And all you have to do to enter the the lottery to for a chance to win $5,000 in Bitcoin, a free iPhone, along with a hundred other different prizes is you just have to buy a Tangent wallet using the link uh down in the description of this live stream.
It's all you have to do. You'll automatically be entered. Um you have between today and June 5th. So you have a month and I believe they will make the final announcements of winners live on um video I believe July, like July 5th.
So, two months from now. But yeah, all you have to do to enter the for a chance to win uh any of the hundred prizes is buy a tangent wallet using the link in the description of this live stream. But on top of that, you're getting a one of the best deals anyways. Plus, you get free Bitcoin. Plus, you get a secure crypto. I mean, it's um that's what I'm saying. I don't honestly don't know how they're making money with this deal.
Um I don't know, but it's pretty cool.
[cough] Actually, I I would argue I do know how they're making money. Um, so I don't know if a lot of you saw, but Tandem released a report, I think it was in March or something, that in 2025 they did, I think about $50 million in revenue.
And the majority of that did not come from selling Tang Wallets. The majority of that comes from uh people using their app. So, anytime you're doing like the swap or the buy and the sell, I think they get a cut um from the exchange fees. I think they get a cut of that and that's where the majority of their revenue comes from. Not actually selling the the physical wallets, but people interacting with their platform, which is pretty cool. We're also seeing a lot more wallets go that route as well because you can only buy so many hardware wallets. [clears throat] Um, so software is is really where a lot of the money is for a lot of these hardware wallet manufacturers. So, not only do they have to create good and secure hardware, now they have to, you know, think about creating a really good app that people enjoy using.
Um, Mala, Aloha, hello. Hello.
Um, is there a possibility of Tandem ever going out of business in 30 plus years and all the crypto held using solely three cards is gone? I'm asking because everything is held with cards as well as an app.
Um, a couple different questions there.
So, let me break it down. Is it possible that Tandem goes out of business in 30 years? Of course. It's possible that Coca-Cola goes out of business in 30 years. Anything is possible.
[clears throat] Um, as far as all your crypto being gone, your crypto is not stored with Tang. It's not stored on the card. It's not stored uh on Tangum servers. It's not stored in the app. It's not stored on your phone. Crypto only exists on the blockchain. All Tandem does is it holds the keys that are used to access and manage your crypto on the blockchain.
Now, depending how you have your Tangent wallet set up, you could potentially run into issues if Tangum shut down. Um, so like if you're using your Tangent wallet without a seed phrase, then yes, you are pretty reliant on just the cards to access your crypto on the blockchain.
Uh, but they have put out an article and they've talked about this on several occasions if Tangent were to go out of business. [clears throat] Uh, the app is 100% open source and available on GitHub, so technically anyone could recreate it. And the main functions like sending and receiving crypto, they don't rely on tandem servers, those rely on the individual blockchain networks that your crypto lives on. So even though things like buying, selling, and swapping wouldn't work in theory, um the sending and receiving crypto would still work. So you would still be able to use the app and send your crypto out of the wallet if you really needed to. Uh, but on another note, if you set up your Tangent wallet with a seed phrase, you don't have to worry about any of that because a seed phrase isn't specific to the wallet brand. You could take your Tangent wallet seed phrase and import it into a ledger and access your crypto there. So, [clears throat] um, what is School? So, School is a, uh, it's a community platform where where people build different communities. I mean, there's a bunch of there's like pickle ball, there's boxing, there's AI stuff. Um, but it's a community platform where you basically join a community and there you can do group calls and there's a huge community board and you basically it's like an online meeting place. Um, so what I've done is I've created Skrilla's Crypto School. It gives you direct one-on-one access to me. So you can DM me, you basically can text me.
Uh, we do a group call every two weeks.
So me and the the hundred other members that are in there right now, we all get on like a Zoom style call and we we talk to each other and I also bring in an industry expert every month. Actually think uh I'm getting Tang in this month.
By the end of the month, Tang will be in there talking with us and we'll basically be asking them question for questions for about an hour.
[clears throat] Um so yeah, it's my private cryptoc community if you want access to that. Um it is 25 bucks a month. It's monthtomonth. You can cancel anytime. If you just want to join for, you know, one month and then uh or just like to catch certain calls, uh you can do that. The cool thing though is I record all of the calls. So all the group calls and all the industry experts, all of that is recorded and available to watch. Um even if you join today and you want to watch the past calls from months ago, you can do that. It's all available in the classroom section. Uh but all the details of that again is linked down in the description if you want to check it out. [cough] >> [clears throat] >> Um, Fix says, "I want to know if there's a way to replace my Tangent wallet to another phone if my phone got broken and I had to get another phone." Absolutely.
Uh, like I said earlier, you can actually use your Tangent wallet on as many phones as you want technically. Um, so, you know, if you have two phones available to you, like maybe you have yours and your significant others, you could actually do that. Uh, but the way you do that is really simple. So, assuming your Tangent wallet's already set up, all you have to do is download the Tangent app on the new phone. Um, press the scan card button. Then you scan any one of your cards. It doesn't matter. Um, enter your access code, scan the card again, and you're in your your wallet is uh is accessible through that new phone, and you can still access it on the old phone if you wanted to. Uh, but ultimately, you always need the physical card to access and manage your crypto with Tandem, which is why it's secure. [clears throat] Uh Brett Morrison says, "The buy 1 get one half off deal can that apply to the ring package?" So the buy 1 get one half off deal um does not apply to the ring.
It's only for a it's for a uh two packs of three cards. So you're getting two cards. H sorry, you're getting six cards. [clears throat] But the the current deal, you get 20% off. Uh, with the Tand Ring, you get 20% off plus, let me see if I can bring it up here.
Uh, let's see. Tandem Ring. So, that's the deal they're doing right now. Tandem Ring, you get 20% off and you get $15 in free Bitcoin. So, you're basically getting that's 40 40 bucks plus another 15 in free Bitcoin. You're getting 55 bucks off plus you get free shipping.
Um, that's the current deal with the Tandem Ring, which is uh pretty much what what they've been running for a while. But like I said, the using the link down in the description in this live stream, they're having their one of their biggest deals ever. You can get uh you get 20% off your entire order, plus you get free Bitcoin regardless of which wallet you get. Uh, but they're also doing this buy 1 get one 50% off. So, you get the 20% off, you get the 50% off the second one, and you get the $20 in free Bitcoin. and you get the free shipping, which is insane. And any one of these tangent wallets that you buy, whether it's the two card or the ring or the buy one get one 50% off, it enters you into a drawing uh to win one of a hundred different prizes. So, they have $5,000 in Bitcoin. They have a brand new 256 gig iPhone 17s and a bunch of other rewards. They have a some Tandem rings you can win. And again, all you have to do to enter that is purchase a Tangent wallet using the link in the description of this live stream between now and June 5th. Um, so still a pretty good deal. Still a pretty good deal. [clears throat] Um, Zon Zoncker says, "Does Tangum support passphrase?" Yes, it does. You can uh both set up and import a passphrase using your Tangent Wallet.
Um, and I have a video on this. If you just type in Tangent Wallet passphrase on YouTube, you can see my video where I explain how to do that.
James Bushman says, "You know, I use a hot wallet for anything DeFi. I don't use my ledger. I had a poison attack this morning in the hot wallet. I woke up with 700 million in the account."
Yeah, that's a that's a good thing that you're you're separating your wallet risk like that, James. Uh just as far as a poisoning attack, that can happen to any wallet whether you've connected it to a DeFi platform or not. A lot of my my wallets are poisoned as well. So just be aware that that exists.
[cough and clears throat] Let's see. Every time I scroll on this live stream, it just glitches out and then I have to find where I'm at. So my apologies here. Hope everyone's having a good Tuesday as well.
Um oh, here we go. Magic Mike, my guy says, "Hey, you. Yeah, you. You are loved." Thank you, Magic Mike. Just what I needed to hear today. Um, right back at you.
Uh, did you recommend a different phone for wallets? I don't recommend a different phone for for wallets. I think that's uh I don't think that's necessary. Um, even though I have multiple phones for my Tangent wallet, I really do that uh for YouTube videos because I used to record what I was doing with my my main phone and then I'd have another phone. Um, but I use my I've been using my main Tangent Wallet for three years on my iPhone on my everyday iPhone. So, [clears throat] never had an issue. Super Silver says, "Evening in the UK. Thanks for all the videos you do." Absolutely. Thanks for uh joining us, spending your evening with us.
Um, Laspin Outdoors says, "What about flare?" Uh, what about flare? I don't know. Not sure. Not sure if there's something specific you want to know, but if there is, definitely drop a comment.
Uh, CIA now wants our details from Tandem. Uh, this doesn't change anything that um, how it already operates.
[clears throat] KYC has always been a requirement for uh, crypto exchanges. It's not KYC to use Tandem. require it's a KYC to use um buy, sell, and exchange services by centralized providers. It's always been the case, so nothing new. Uh I lost all my crypto to a fishing scam, took all precautions, and made one mistake. And that that's all it takes. I'm sorry to hear that, but that's [sighs] that's exactly what I'm talking about. I mean, I just had someone who joined my school community >> [clears throat] >> um like, you know, it was we'll just say it was a month ago.
uh lost uh 300 I think it was $350,000 because you made one mistake. That's exactly why you need to consider don't just get a hardware wallet and assume you're safe. That's not how it works. You're not safe by using a hardware wallet. You're safe when you use a hardware wallet the way it was meant to be used. That's why I say have multiple hardware wallets at at least have two. That way you have your main cold storage wallet and your um riskier wallet, right?
That way you can avoid that from happening.
I'm sorry that happened to you. Um no face go, but [clears throat] I'm telling you right now, a really way easy way to combat that is to just have different wallets. And by keeping one cold, by just using it for storage, the odds of you losing that crypto ever is virtually zero because you're keeping the key offline. You're not interacting with anything online. Uh that's how I've I've kept my crypto secure for the last six years. And then you can do all the risky crap on your other wallet.
Lava Flame says, "Is this for Tandem Pay virtual card?" This is for any as far as the the chain link and uh Tandem integration. This is for any service that Tangum offers that requires KYC.
Kathy says, "Hi there. What if we're already set up in Tandem and we've already done the KYC at Kraken Exchange?
Does that affect people like me?" No.
So, Kraken Exchange is completely separate from your Tang wallet. This has nothing to do with external exchanges.
the the chain link tangent integration is specifically when you're uh using the buy sell swap uh features within the app because all those features are provided by thirdparty exchanges. So you have to go through the KYC process uh essentially through the tangent app. So what this new partnership has done is you do the KYC process once and you won't have to do it again.
[clears throat] Um, I'll have another says, "Can I get the ring wallets instead of the six cards with your promo deal?" Yes, you can. It's not buy 1 get one 50% off with the ring uh for the ring. So, the ring comes with the ring and two cards. It's 20% off plus you get $15 in free Bitcoin plus you get uh free shipping. So, still a great deal. [clears throat] Mike the Gamerwolf, what's going on, Micah? Uh, happy to see you on this live stream.
Thanks for joining again. How can you hide the um the amount in fiat money on Tandem?
I can definitely show you that right now.
So, what you need to do is you want to go to the uh app settings on your So, go to app settings and you want to enable this flip to hide balances. [clears throat] This is the only way you can hide any balance in tandem. So once you've enabled that, um, here's one of my my dummy wallets that I have set up. So you see it says zero dollars right now. If I literally just flip it, balances are now hidden. And if I wanted to now see it, just flip it.
Oh, I got to press flip it and it's there again. So that's the only way to hide the amount in your tangent wallet.
Uh, Bobby says, "Hi, sir. Please explain the use of three cards on Tandem." So, if you're talking about like why would you buy a three-pack?
Um, the reason Tandem sells their cards in in two or three packs is because you have the option to set up your Tang wallet without a seed phrase. And if you don't have your seed phrase, which is the master key to your crypto, um, you know, it's a pretty big risk. It's a big risk. So, [clears throat] the reason Tangent provides you with multiple cards is in case you lose one of your cards, you can still access your crypto using the the last one. At that point, you'd probably buy like a new wallet and transfer your crypto so that it's not secured only by one card. But, for example, if you buy a three-pack and you set up all the cards, they all work exactly the same because they all hold the same keys. They're just backup cards. Again, in case you lose one or one gets damaged, you always have a backup. Um, but yeah, to set up a Tangent wallet, you need a minimum of two cards, which is why they only sell it in a two or three pack. And you can only have a maximum of three cards per wallet. Yet, the amount of cards you can set up in the tangent app is unlimited.
So, you know, if you had if you had four cards, for example, this could be one wallet with his own seed phrase, and this could be another wallet with his own seed phrase. So, pretty cool.
Selling to Tahiti. You are welcome.
Uh, you're suspicious to me. Says, "Is it possible to live without KYC through cash only and P2P directly with persons?
Is it simple?" It's not simple. It is possible. It would be a huge pain. Um, that's why nobody does it, but it's possible.
[clears throat] But honestly, I mean, seeking privacy in in 2026, uh, you could do it. you could do it, but uh almost almost impossible. Like from birth, they you get a social security number. Uh you're being tracked. So, I mean, we're talking about changing your name, basically changing your entire identity, only dealing in cash. Um you know, if you're talking like super elite level, maybe like plastic surgery on your face, like, you know, stuff that only criminals are doing. So, That's that's kind of my opinion on it.
[clears throat] Mike the Gamerwolf says, "You use one card for tandem account and serves as your cold wallets and the rest are your backups. If you lose both cards, you at least have another card." Exactly. No hype 85. What's going on? Micah the Gamerwolf said, "You need at least two cards." Exactly. Deep Ether says, "I just want to say thank you for all your time and information, brother. Love your presence, uh, King." Yeah, thank you.
Appreciate your kind comment. appreciate you joining the live. [clears throat] Also, I appreciate everyone's um uh interaction here and asking good questions. Like the reason why I make, you know, arguably good content is because all the all the questions and topics that I cover are directly from you. Uh I'm just one mind, but when we all get together, like on this live stream, uh a bunch of ideas and and questions and different things come together. And that's what's so special about having um an online community. And that's why the internet is so cool.
Yeah, it could be used for bad things, but um yeah, I just I appreciate everyone being here and and getting involved.
Uh Marv 85 says, "Thanks for the response to my earlier question. I did message Tanzan support about it with screenshots, but haven't been able to unable have been unable to get assistance. Uh you're talking about the tangent pay issue.
Uh, I would just, you know, check in every 3 days, keep sending emails.
Can a wallet be charged?
Um, so wallets with batteries can be charged. Like Tandem wallet, you don't need a charge. There's no battery in this wallet. The way that NFC works is it draws power from your phone. So there's no power until I hold it up to the phone and the phone essentially powers the card. Um, that's why it's resistant. The tandem cards are resistant to EMP attacks, resistant X-ray machines, electrostatic discharge because the only thing in this thing is a EAL 6 plus secure element chip and an NFC antenna which goes around the outer edge here.
And that's it. That's why um it's so durable [clears throat] and it doesn't need to be charged. Now, if you're using something like a Ledger Stacks, then yes, this has a lithium ion battery in it, and you'll have to charge it uh if it dies.
Um, Carol says, "Love Tandem. So easy and user friendly." 100% agree.
Uh, let's see.
Kathy says, "You know, Skrilla, if I hadn't turned on your live program today, I would have known nothing about this. Have they released or do they send out information to existing customers?
You're doing a great job. Um, well, first off, I appreciate you saying that and appreciate you being here, Kathy. As far as have they released or do they send out information to existing customers, uh, they do have a newsletter, uh, but a lot of my information I just get from their ex account. They usually post all of their announcements there. Um, but they're just not as active on YouTube, so I just bring it over to YouTube. And I also go into more depth on what this stuff means.
>> [clears throat] >> Uh, let's see. Lori says, "The school shirt works well in the scrolling the channel." I appreciate that. Thank you.
Dang it. Now I lost my spot again. Why does YouTube do this?
I had to stop live streaming on I was using a streaming service and I would talk and then 3 seconds later my mouth would move. And I know it's not perfect still, but um so now I'm live streaming directly through YouTube and it's kind of glitchy, but you know, it still works. [clears throat] Uh let's see. Is there not an issue with typing a C phrase in your phone if you decide to use that from form on Tandem?
How is it more secure than Treasure or anything else thinks? So, I mean, you have to really think about what you're doing. um like when you generate a seed phrase with Tandem. Yes, the seed phrase is generated natively in the app, but it's displayed for a very short period, just long enough for you to write it down. Um after that, it is then transferred to each one of your cards and completely erased from the app. So, it's a very small window.
[clears throat] That's assuming like your phone is already hacked. Um but also the app is is designed in a way that if there is anything that is operating um abnormally like there's some kind of malware on your phone or something. Uh the the app won't work as intended. So it'll either pop up some kind of message or it won't let you go through the process. Um also like some native phone features have been disabled in the tangent app when doing [clears throat] um things that require privacy such as setting up your seed phrase. So, for example, if you try to take a screenshot of your seed phrase when you're going through the setup process or even if you do a screen recording and you go and look at that photo or play back the video completely blank. Um, so those are just some of the things that Tangum has done to ensure that your seed phrase is secure for the brief few seconds that is displayed. Uh, but after that it's stored offline um and and never touches the internet. So the main difference between that and something like Treasure obviously is Treasure only displays your seed phrase on the offline device whereas Tandem displays it briefly uh on your phone screen. Uh as far as how is that more secure?
I don't think it's more secure. I don't look at security um from a one feature aspect like oh because Treasure generates it offline and Tandem generates it on the app, Treasure is instantly more secure. You also have to look at the wallet as a whole. So for a complete beginner, using a wallet like Treasure might be and is likely more confusing than setting up and using a wallet like Tandem. And knowing that user error is the number one reason uh is is the greatest reason that people lose money in crypto, I can come to the conclusion that Tandem is a secure wallet. Is it more secure than treasure? Not necessarily. Is it less secure? Not necessarily. But again, I look at the you have to look at the different context and you have to look at the data. And the data is no TM wallet um to my knowledge has ever been hacked because of um because someone stole the seed phrase right out of the app. It's never happened. Um everything is secure until it isn't. That applies to every security product in the world.
[clears throat and cough] Hopefully that answers your question. Um let's see. B126.
Okay. a charge from a third party like a gift.
I'm not sure what you mean, but I'm talking about third party fees. So, if you use the buy, sell, or swap feature in a wallet like Tandem or even Ledger, the third parties that are providing those services are taking a a fee. They charge a fee and Tandem gets part of that fee or ledger or treasure, whoever it is.
Uh, Zoner said, "So, if I set up without a seed phrase, the seed on tangent is on Tandem servers. What if their server gets hacked?" No, definitely not. That would not be good. Um, that's not what I said at all. If you set up your Tangent wallet without a Cphrase, the Cedrase is never displayed and it never touches your phone. It is generated offline on the Secure Lemon chip inside your cards.
Whereas, if you use a seed phrase, it's generated on your phone, you write it down, then it's erased, and then transferred to your cards. That's the difference. In both cases, your seed phrase is only stored offline on the secure chip in the card. It's never stored anywhere else. [clears throat] Let's see here.
Mike the Gamerwolf says, "Since all transactions are recorded online and everyone has access to it, how can you save yourself from bad actors tracking you down?" Because um then they know how much money in Bitcoin you have. So yeah, the the the blockchain is is a digital public ledger. So anyone can go and look at any address and see how much crypto is there.
The thing is connecting that address to a person in the real world. just because I can go to Ether Scan right now and look at a million different wallet addresses. I have no way to connect that wallet address to a person in the real world. Now, there are ways to do it. Um, but it's depending how you use your wallet. That may or may not be possible.
So, [clears throat] Cross Central says, "What happens to my different sub accounts on the same wallet if I need to import to a different wallet provider than Tandem?
Do those accounts just get lost?" It's a good question. I haven't tried that yet, but all the different sub accounts are are different derivation paths. So, uh I'm not sure like how complicated or complex it'd be, but basically you need to um access the different derivation paths, which with most wallets, you can manually access those paths. Again, I haven't tried it. I'm not sure what's involved in that. Um but I'm sure it's possible, but I don't know how to do it.
So, it's a good question.
>> [clears throat] >> Michael Banick says, "If you swap, buy and sell through the app, how do you report that on your taxes properly?" Uh, Michael, so the best way to, in my opinion, to to track all of your crypto transactions. Doesn't matter if you're using a cold wallet, an exchange, a hot wallet, uh, you really want to use a cryptotax software. I use Coin Ledger.
And all you do is you just put in your um you essentially connect your wallet, but all that really means is you're you're entering your wallet's receiving address, which is on the blockchain already. And what the cryptotax software does is it goes and it scrapes all the data from the blockchain because [clears throat] again everything in crypto is recorded on the blockchain.
Uh so you'd enter, you just enter your receiving addresses, it'll go and scrape all that data for you and um it generates a tax document and it's really that easy. you don't have to worry about it.
Does the IRS treat cryptocurrency as savings for storing them or income if you sell them? Uh the IRS treats cryptocurrency if you just buy crypto and then you sell it, it's treated as at least in the US it's capital gains. Um so you know after considering your [clears throat and cough] your income bracket uh then you would throw the capital gains on top of that.
Uh but if you're receiving uh if you're receiving like crypto from mining or yield or staking, that's just counted toward your normal income. So let's say you make $40,000 a year. You made $5,000 in in staking rewards. On paper, it would show that you made $45,000 that year. And that's what you'd be taxed. [clears throat] Uh um let's see.
Uh Zoner, it said 1098. Um when investing in crypto, it said it's a schedule D, which is the tax form for reporting capital gains.
[cough and clears throat] Uh happy Cinco de Mayo. Absolutely. I forgot it was Cinco de Mayo.
Um, can you can you believe that we're already in May, almost halfway through 2026?
Just insane.
Um, font to not says, I enabled Visa Tandem to swap and spend USDC, but this from a Mexican phone form resources from Binance Global. I like to use my US phone. Can I enable different Visa Tandem for US number? Um, I don't know.
I would imagine you could, but as we've seen from uh another person here in the community, that might cause some issues.
But you you should be able to.
Let's see.
Um the store around the corner says, "Yeah." All right. All right. It's what I like to hear. Um, Motto Goat Movie says, "How are you doing today, Cyber Skrilla?" Doing good. About to lose my voice, I think. Talking so much. In fact, I'm going to take a drink. I'm just getting over a cold or something.
All right.
Um, but yeah, doing good. Thank you.
Let's see. Zbeck got picked up today uh by Tandem. Hoping for Canton. Nice. Uh, let's see.
700 mil sounds like cap.
Um, don't know. Let's see. LMG says, "I've been swapping on Ledger Wallet for a while. I've never been KYC. Should I worry this will change soon?"
[clears throat] So, it depends on what you're using to swap LMG because uh you can swap without KYC, especially if you're using a decentralized exchange through Ledger.
That that's something they're offering.
You wouldn't you don't KYC on a decentralized exchange. Swapping is really uh for on and off ramping. So if you're buying or selling crypto, you'll have to KYC um but not not the swapping usually. It depend you could it really depends. You could be KYC if you're using a centralized platform to do that. Yes.
Lenard says, "Do you give your passphrase to your family in unfortunate event?" [clears throat] It's a good it's a good idea to have um your to have everything planned out and to make sure your family is aware of where they can find everything to access your wallet and more importantly know how to access it and use those things.
So, um yeah, it's a good idea.
So, Terara says, "Do you recommend splitting crypto between two separate brands like Tang and Treasure or is it okay to split between the same brand but different wallets?" Uh, personally, I don't I don't really think it matters.
That's just my opinion.
Um, but I have I [clears throat] have multiple Tang wallets and ultimately, you know, your seed phrase isn't wallet specific. So, that's why I say it doesn't really matter. If you ever wanted to switch, you could just take your seed phrase from Tandem, import it into a ledger, and you're good. Um, I like the the splitting the crypto between two of the same wallets for um for ease of use, right?
Because if if you're using multiple different wallets, different wallet brands, then you're using different software, which can just be uh it can be kind of annoying because you have to make sure that [clears throat] uh the software on both wallets is up to date, you have to make sure both wallets firmware is up to date. Whereas, if you just use one wallet, you really only have to focus on that one wallet. Um not that you you can't or shouldn't use different brands. It's really up to you.
So, let's see. I have Brave browser with VPN. Tandem is asking me to turn off VPN.
Sounds about right. If you're using if you're using any of the services through Tandem, you'll have to turn off VPN because [clears throat] those exchanges um those exchanges need your location.
Um Kathy says, "Plastic surgery." Yeah, like a lot of uh criminals have, you know, gotten plastic surgery and and changed their identity. So, Micah the Gamer Wolf says, "Since my tandem is European, uh, oh, sorry. Since my name is European, you pronounce Mika. Most English speakers make that mistake."
Well, thanks for correcting me. I would have had known I no idea if you hadn't told me. So, Mika.
Um, Mnest says, "Thank you, Cyber Scroller. I appreciate all you do."
Absolutely.
Uh Carl said, "Would Chain Link allow me to get rid of my checking account and pay bills, do a transfers?" Uh, no. It's not what we're talking about here.
Should I still get a 24word seed phrase or is three cards enough? Uh, regardless of So, when you set up a tangent wallet, you get a master key. All a seed phrase is is a master key. You get that regardless of if you use a seed phrase or not. The difference of using a seedless tangent wallet and a seed phrase tangent wallet is with the seedless option, the seed phrase simply isn't shown to you. Whereas, if you do use one, it is shown to you so you can write it down. My preference, I like to know my seed phrase. I don't want to rely solely on cards uh to access my crypto. So, I always choose to use to know my seed phrase. [clears throat] Um, Bill Armstrong says, "If you have a six-ack of tandem cards, can you create three wallets?" Yes, it doesn't matter.
The cards they they're not when they're not set up, it doesn't matter. They're just blank cards. So, if you order like if you do the buy one get one deal right now, um, which I'll talk about in a second, you're going to get six cards total. Uh, you can set up three different wallets all with their own seed phrase. Exactly. Right. Um, but yeah, like I said, Tandem right now they're doing um they're having a crazy deal right now. I think it's the best they've done all year. You can get you can buy one get one 50% off. So that's uh two three packs and you're getting one of those three packs 50% off plus you're getting an additional 20% off and you're getting $20 in free Bitcoin and you're getting free shipping.
So, uh, the only way you get access to that is using the link in the description of this live stream.
Um, if you don't want to take advantage of the buy 1 get one deal, you can just order any other wallet on the website.
You're still going to get 20% off and free Bitcoin as well. Also, if you purchase a Tangent wallet now, between now and June 5th, you're automatically entered into a giveaway that they're doing. The top prize is $5,000 in Bitcoin. Um, then they have some other they have a hundred prizes um, total, but they also have brand new iPhone 17s.
They have some Tandem rings and some other Tandem uh, stuff that they're giving away. And again, all you have to do is buy a Tandem wallet uh, between now and June 5th using the link in the description and you're automatically entered. Plus, you get a crazy deal and free Bitcoin. Um, absolutely insane.
[clears throat] Let's see. Bill says, "Hi, what coins can you swap for Terra Luna on Tandem?
Great job." Uh, I don't know, Bill. You just have to You just have to try it and see. I I don't know off the top of my head. [clears throat] Uh, selling to Tahiti says, "For long-term cold storage purpose with crypto coming from two exchanges, would you recommend sub accounts on one wallet or separate walls for each exchange? I want different receive addresses."
Um, I mean, personally what I do is I just have different wallets.
That's just that's what I do. That's what I prefer. It's two different seed phrases. It just is um it just makes sense to me. So, that's what I do. But you could you could technically do whatever.
Uh, let's see. So, would staking USDC on Tandem be considered a risky activity?
If so, should I move USDC to my second set of three cards? Um, so you can't stake USDC. Um, you can earn yield, which is maybe what you're talking about, [clears throat] but yes, any any activity that requires you signing a transaction through a third party website or digital contract, it's technically a risk. Uh, like I said, Tandem only uses vetted platforms. So, they're not using some malicious scam website to allow you to earn yield on USDC. They're using legitimate websites that are secure today. The risk is if you're signing a contract approval and let's say that website or the whatever provider they're using is compromised in the future, which could or you know maybe won't happen. Uh your wallet that specific wallet address could be at risk. If you're staking or earning yield or swapping on decentralized exchanges, I do recommend doing that through a separate wallet from your main cold storage wallet just for added security. Um, so yeah, 352 Lambo says no more KYC.
Um, yeah, I mean I went over it a few times now, but basically Tandem has partnered with Chainlink, more specifically Chainlink ACE, um, which is automated compliance for digital assets. So I can read it right here from the website. Basically chain link ACE what it does it's the compliance layer connecting asset issuers identity providers um risk scoring platforms and distribution channels into a single managed stack. So basically if you're using different services through Tang like the buy sell swap features uh mo mainly the buy and the sell features and tangent pay [clears throat] those all rely on centralized platforms.
So, you know, centralized crypto exchanges for those exchanges to operate, uh, they require their customers, their users to go through KYC. That's just the law. So, what this integration of, um, Chain Link and Tangum is achieving is instead of having to go through KYC every time you use a different platform uh, or service through your Tangum wallet, you only have ever have to do it once uh, because Chain Link will now do it automatically for you.
That's um that's what I mean by that.
Uh V.vt.tv says, "Don't forget to hit that like button." Absolutely. Appreciate the reminder.
Uh Jordan says, "Do you recommend the Tandem debit card?" Uh Tangent Pay is definitely awesome. I'm going to use it once it's available in my area. Uh I got access to it, but unfortunately, again, it's not they won't approve me yet. Um, I'm definitely going to try it out and use it. As far as do I recommend it, I mean, if if you want to use it, then sure. Um, it's completely separate from your Tangent wallet. So, by using Tangent Pay, you're not putting your actual Tangum hardware wallet at risk.
It's a completely separate product. Even though it lives in the same app, it's separate from your wallet.
[clears throat] Um, Mika the Gamerwolf says, "I need to use a third party to store Monero the to store of Monero the keys on my ledger. How can I move the wallet from the third party app to the Ledger app if it's supported eventually?" Um, I I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I mean, if if um if Ledger eventually supports Monero, then you would be able to generate a Monero receiving address and the easiest thing might just be to um if it doesn't automatically populate or detect that, the easiest thing might just be to send your Monero from whatever address you're using right now to the new address that's natively available in the Ledger wallet app.
Um, hello. Can you please explain in detail how Tandem does the swap coin feature? I'd like to know the details.
Greetings from Honduras. Thanks for everything.
Um, so I mean it's the same as any other swap. So when you swap crypto through any hardware wallet, uh, including Tandem, um, there's two types of providers.
[clears throat] The first kind is a CEX or a centralized exchange. So these services, the swap service is provided all by third parties. It's not Tandem swapping your crypto. It's uh Changely, it's OKX, it's different providers providing a service through the Tangum app. So, with the centralized exchange or CEX option, uh if you swap, let's say you're swapping um ETH for USDT, if you're using a CEX option, what you actually do when you hit that swap button is it's going to send your ETH to the third party. They're going to do the swap on their end and then they're going to send it back to your wallet.
That's a centralized swap. So, they're they're taking on um they're the ones doing the actual swapping transaction.
The second option is using a DEX or a decentralized exchange. Uh with this option, you're actually connecting to a decentralized exchange uh where you're signing the the contract approval.
You're telling the platform, hey, I'm giving you this crypto. Um you're swapping it and giving me this crypto.
So, you're taking on a little bit more of the risk because you have to sign that transaction approval. Um, but it never touches a centralized exchange.
So, you don't have to go through KYC or anything. Uh, so that's really the the two options you have for swapping um within the Tangent wallet. One is more of a a digital contract, whereas the other one you're sending to a third party platform where they're doing the swap for you and sending it back.
Uh, let's see. Go do ginger shots with lemon and and honey. Um, yeah, I I've definitely been doing some stuff like that. I was just gargling some uh water with hydrogen peroxide and uh it burns.
Mika the gamerwolf says, "Starting 2028, you will have to pay an amount as savings in taxes in the Netherlands just for holding crypto."
Uh, it's very unfortunate. Very unfortunate. Maybe maybe it'll change by then. Uh mini mini mine mini uh I'm using a sketchy Ponzi scheme. Bitcoin miner Aza miner. Is it safe to make the Bitcoin withdrawal straight to Tandem or should I use another hot wallet between them? X minor to me. Um well, it depends. [clears throat and cough] If all you have to do to get that Bitcoin to your wallet is basically just like send paste the receiving address, that's safe to do. But if it requires that you connect your Tangent wallet or the receiving wallet to the platform, definitely don't use your main cold storage wallet. Use an intermediate wallet like you said, MetaMask and then to Tang. But if you can send just straight to Tangent without having to connect your Tangent wallet to anything, then you can do that.
Lynn says, "Why would government want your public addresses? Can they use this info to seize assets?" Um, well, the government already has our public addresses if you're using a crypto exchange. Um, the IRS is already the crypto exchanges report to the IRS.
[clears throat] Um, so for reporting services or purposes as far as can they seize your assets? No. If if your crypto is held on a cold wallet, they they have no way to take your crypto. You are the sole owner of that crypto because you own and control the keys. Now, if your crypto is on an exchange like Coinbase or Robin Hood, um or any centralized platform, absolutely, they can they can take your crypto because it's not actually your crypto. Um and the exchanges have to comply with um you know, your state laws and and if the government was after your money for some reason. Um one popular example is unclaimed property laws.
So all all US states now uh have have included cryptocurrency in their unclaimed property laws. So for a lot of states if you're crypto is sitting on an exchange like Coinbase for you know 3 to 5 years and you you never log into the account you never do anything with it.
Um the state has the right and this has already happened. they have the right to request that the exchange sends them your crypto and then your crypto is sent to the state where uh you live or where it was last noted that you live. And basically, you have to go through the claim process to get that crypto back.
[clears throat and cough] But again, this is this is only possible if you hold your crypto uh on a on a custodial platform where you don't actually hold the crypto. So, Ma says, "I always use VPN on my iPhone and none of my exchanges, hot wallets, cold wallets, complain for having it active."
Interesting. I think it just depends on the services you're using.
Uh, Bobby SA says, "How do we know if the seed phrase is working on Tandem or not? As you said, never transfer crypto before testing." So, if you want to test your seed phrase on tandem, it's best to do it be well, I mean, you would want to do it before you send any crypto to it.
But basically, you you get your tangent wallet. You would set it up with a seed phrase. Once you're done with the setup process, you go into settings, then you go into device settings, and then you hit factory reset cards. And then you factory reset all your cards. And then you go through the setup process again.
But this time instead of selecting the create sephrase option, you would tap the import seed phrase option. At that point, you would uh enter the seed phrase that you just wrote down during the first setup. And if it imports successfully, you know you have written down your seed phrase correctly.
[clears throat] Whiskey Riddler, haven't seen you for a while. Thanks for joining the live. Glad I caught you live. Goat Skrilla, thanks for the free master class. Always happy to have you here.
Uh, love tangent wallet. Absolutely. Ma says, "If you live in the US and you store them on an exchange untouched for five years, then yes, on a cold wallet they can't because they can't control them without coming to your house." Yep, exactly right. [clears throat] Um, should I set my phone in airplane mode or anything like that when I set up my seed phrase? Do I have to type in my seed phrase each time to use Tandem if I pick that option? Um, to answer your first question, no, you don't need to put your phone in airplane mode to set up a tangent wallet. Uh, it's not really going to do anything for you. Um, second, on a co wallet, the only time the the seed phrase is the the password for your whole wallet. So, the only time you'll ever use your seed phrase is if you lose access to your physical wallet. Like let's say, you know, let's say I set up a three-ack of tangent cards and, you know, the wind blows them all away. Oh no, I lost all my tangent cards, but oh wait, I still have my seed phrase at home. At that point, you know, I would buy another wallet, whether it was Tandem or Ledger, and I would enter that seed phrase into the new hardware wallet to regain access to my crypto. Uh, you don't use your seed phrase on a day-to-day basis. You don't use it to approve transactions. you don't use it to to do anything other than to access the wallet, which is why if anyone ever asks you for your seed phrase, uh 11 times out of 10, it's a scam. So, [clears throat] Waju says, "Could you bring up the risk of smart contracts when using a for yield on tandem?"
Yeah, any smart contract interaction with your cold wallet is a potential risk.
Um, Mika says, "It will work. You shouldn't share them or screenshot them if you want to prevent your assets from being stolen." Absolutely. Bishop David Black, what's going on? Thanks for joining the live. How secure is staking ADA or Soul on Tandem? I mean, it's as secure as it gets. If you're going to stake your crypto, a cold wallet is arguably the best option to do it, but just know there are risks with staking in general.
Um, I wouldn't say it's super risky, but there are risks nonetheless.
>> [clears throat and cough] >> and preferably I would prefer staking on a separate wallet that doesn't hold the the majority of my crypto.
Uh MA says the debit cards only support USD at the moment. USDC on Polygon to be specific. If you want to avoid holding them in USD, I wouldn't recommend. So depending where you live, it may not even work in USD.
Um let's see. It looks like your throat is hurting. I want to hear you answer more questions, but you have you better get some rest. Yeah, I'll jump off here soon.
Um, England rugby fan. If a smart contract is compromised, staking Tron on Tandem, would only your Tron address wallet be compromised or could everything every other crypto address within your Tandem wallet be compromised? [clears throat] A good question. And generally it's only the the wallet address that you sign that that contract approval with. It's a great question uh because each receiving address is generated um from your private key. So like your Ethereum address has its own private key. Salana has its own private key. So essentially that private key is what would be compromised.
Great question.
Uh Jack, what about when you change your phone? Would I need my Cphrase? Nope.
Uh no. If if you're changing your phone, but you're still using Tang, the the wallet's already set up. So, all you need to do is download the Tandem app on the new phone, scan any one of your cards, which has the key on it, and then enter your access code, and you're back in. [clears throat] Mahalo. Peace out. Does a seed phrase work on different wallets? I have Ledger Cphr Phrase. Can I recover on Tandem?
Yes, seed phrases are not wallet specific. Uh the caveat is if the wallet you're importing the seed phrase into doesn't support the same cryptocurrencies, then those those cryptos uh won't be displayed in the other wallet. So you want to make sure they support the same crypto. Also, they can have different derivation paths like Tandem versus Ledger. So you might have to manually import derivation paths, which there are instructions online to do that.
Uh what's going on Lavon? Uh, Leavon Lawrence, nice to see you in alive.
It has been a while. Uh, my question is, when swapping within the tandem app, you mentioned previously that the CEX is the best option over the DEX option. Is DEX option unsafe? I actually prefer using a DEX because, you know, you don't have to go through KYC. Uh, but from a security standpoint, if you use a DEX, you are interacting with a smart contract. And anytime you interact with a smart contract, it is a potential vulnerability. If it's even if it's not today, even if it's not two years from now, um if that contract or that platform is ever compromised and you have unlimited spend approval, it could compromise that address in your wallet. So, that's why I prefer to use like dexes with certain wallets um and don't use them with your main cold storage wallet.
If you have already done so, you can revoke contract approval using something like revoke.cash. cash.
[clears throat and snorts] Uh, England rugby fan, you are welcome.
Great question. Again, Adrian says, "What are your thoughts about staking XRP on Flare? Can you do a video on that, please?" Um, I'm not going to do a video on that. I'm just going to be honest. Um, and it's not actually staking. Uh, you can't stake XRP.
XRP is not a proofofstake network.
That's why you have to go to another network to do it. Uh but you're not actually staking XRP when you when you stake XRP on Flare. They're actually uh holding your XRP as collateral and giving you a completely different um like wrapped version of XRP and you are essentially earning rewards on that. So it's it's fake staking. Uh would I recommend it? No. But I don't know enough about it. Um it's also still pretty new. Personally, if I had a lot of XRP and [clears throat] I wanted to ensure it was safe, I wouldn't do it. That's just my opinion.
Uh, thanks for so much for all the information and the answers. God bless.
Thank you, Bobby. Absolutely. God bless you. Jack Dawn, thank you. You're welcome.
James Bushman says, "Gotcha." Very nice.
I like that. Thank you. Absolutely. uh if you're joining um some crazy things happening with Tang, but especially they have a a crazy incentive right now. And let me let me take a swig from my Tang water bottle here.
After this, I got to go have some hot tea [clears throat] and um maybe gargle some lime, honey, and ginger.
what someone recommended.
Uh, but the tangent incentive right now, uh, it lasts for the for a month till June 5th. Absolutely insane deal right now. So, anytime you buy a Tangent wallet using the link down in the description, uh, between now and June 5th, you're automatically entered into um, enter a giveaway that Tang's hosting. The top prize is $5,000 in Bitcoin. They also have a hundred other gifts including uh iPhone 17 256 gig, the Tandem ring, other Tandem merchandise. [clears throat] And all you have to do to enter that is order a Tangum wallet between now and June 5th. But it gets even better. Wait, there's more. Um they also have a buy one get one deal right now.
So you can buy if you buy um let me just bring it up. So, the second set 50% off. You get two three packs.
So, one is full price, one is 50% off.
So, you're getting six cards, which with six cards, you can create a total of three Tangent wallets. Crazy deal. Uh, plus you get free shipping. Plus, you get $20 in free Bitcoin. And using the link down in the description, you're getting an additional 20% off your order. Uh if you don't want six cards and you don't want to do the buy one get one off, [cough and clears throat] then you still get 20% off any of these other options and free Bitcoin.
Uh and you're still entered into the the um the prize pool. So again, you have until June 5th to do that. Link is down in the description. And really any tandem link on any of my videos here on the channel will give you this discount and will automatically enter you into that giveaway. Uh they will host the giveaway or announce the giveaway live um I believe July, so a couple months.
Just a heads up.
Selling Tahiti says, "Thanks Cyber. Hope you feel better soon. Appreciate that.
[clears throat] Adrian, you are very welcome.
Um, if your cards got cooked in a fire, is all your crypto lost? Uh, depends. If you set up your tangent wallet without a seed phrase, then yes, all your crypto be gone. If you have a seed phrase, which again, it's your choice whether you use one or not, [cough and clears throat] then no. Um, the crypto isn't stored on the cards. Cards hold your keys. seed phrase is your key. If you choose the seed phrase option, you can write the seed phrase down. Um, I store mine on a metal seed phrase plate, which is fireproof. And as long as you have your seed phrase, you will always be able to access your crypto. That's why I prefer to use a seed phrase option in Tandem.
Um, so yeah, if you have your seed phrase, you're good. [clears throat] Uh, right now, you can't use Tang with FA access to stake FXRP. doesn't support Bitfrost wallet is the best interface to mint your XRP and FXRP and then head to Firefly NFA assets. Yeah, see all that.
I wouldn't do any of that with my cold wallet anyways. Um it's just for me that'd be too much of a risk. If if I had a big bag of XRP, you would not catch me um giving it up as collateral for some fake FXRP to fake stake it. Not something I would do.
>> [clears throat] >> I'm curious as to what people do when they're traveling, specifically going through security. Has anyone had any issues? Um, some people have had issues in the past. Not anyone I know personally, but I have seen on on the internet. You know, some people have been stopped.
Uh, but that's because like you don't want to be obvious.
Um, like personally, I wouldn't be wearing like any cryptoreated, you know, clothing.
But I'd say the main and the best thing you could do is don't bring your hardware wallet. Uh it's like something like this is just for me it just seems too obvious because hardware wallets are they they're just so foreign looking like yeah this looks like a USB stick and I don't know I think enough people know [clears throat] that it just doesn't look normal. That's why the only wallet that I've ever traveled with, the only cold wallet I've ever traveled with is Tandem because this is it's just a card. It's inconspicuous. Um, I literally just put this in my Why isn't it focusing? I just put this in my normal wallet and never had an issue. And I've traveled overseas to various countries with it. No one ever bats an eye because no one even knows it's there. Um, they also have the tandem ring, which I've traveled with.
It's another hidden in plain sight option. So, and because Tandem is um has such few components in it, the X-ray machine doesn't affect it. EMPs, electrostatic discharge, none of that affects the Tangum wallet.
[clears throat] Um, B Simple says, "Can you help us include TX protocol to Tangum wallet?"
Um, I can't do that. I don't work for Tandem, but if you want a certain blockchain supported, you need to reach out to them because they do take that into consideration. Tribe Revolution, hey man, I appreciate your work in the community. Got a question. Since you don't use IRA for security reasons, how do you go about reducing tax hits?
[clears throat] Um, kind of a loaded question. And one of the easiest things that you can do is to buy cryptocurrency with a long-term mindset. So in the US at least, if you hold your crypto for longer than a year, it is now long-term capital gains, which significantly reduces your taxes versus short-term capital gains. Um, so that's one of the easiest things that I do. A lot of my crypto I've been holding for, I don't know, two to three years at least. Uh, so that instantly reduces my taxes. Also, I have a business um and you know, I have an LLC, but that's really for the business side of it, but there are some tax deductions I can take there, but it doesn't really apply to um specifically to my crypto investments, more for my crypto income. So, uh but really the easiest way to do it is is hold your crypto long term. Hold it for more than a year. So, no KYC, you say. [clears throat] Uh, let's see. I've already answered that.
Could you? I already answered that.
Granny said to use honey, lime, and Jack Daniels. I've got honey. I've got lime.
I don't um I don't have Jack Daniels, though, and I probably won't get it, but I'm sure it would work. Alternatively, I could maybe mix in some some mouthwash, which would be disgusting, and add some garlic. Absolutely.
Um, Ma says, "Some might demand access to your cold wallet if you travel with a harder wallet, but you'll be in the clear if you use Tandem." Exactly.
[clears throat] Do you still use the original firstg uh Tangum? Yeah, I do 100%. This is the first Tang wallet I ever got. This is the first gen. Uh you can see it's the edges are pretty beat up, but it still works um no issue. And I do I do have crypto on this wallet and I'll probably always have crypto on it until you know it doesn't work anymore.
Um so yeah, but but all the wallets I've bought since this first one, I got this one in 2023. All the tandemss that I got since, I use them all with the seed phrase. So, uh, if I put a house I sold in Bitcoin 5 years ago, if I had put a house I sold in Bitcoin 5 years ago, uh, 3 million USD, screw me.
Huh. I'm not sure um the question. I'm sorry.
Uh, peace out, Emnes. Peace out. Thanks for joining the the live stream and um, look forward to seeing you on another one.
Um, Lynn, thank you. Got cut off there.
Mr. Soul Soldier Souljourer, I have a Tang wallet. If I wanted to set up a second wallet for DeFi, would it be safer if I went with Tandem or should I get a different brand? Um, security-wise, it's not going to matter.
Tandem, you could do Ledger, whatever you want. I would just make sure whatever DeFi platform you're using that Tang will work for that. So, from a usability aspect, that's what I would check. Uh, Tangum supports wallet connect.
So, you can connect your Tangent wallet to all the different EVM blockchain networks, Ethereum, BMBB, uh, Bass.
It'll work with all those. And you can also connected to like Salana DeFi networks. But if there's any other network, then you would want to find a wallet that will work with those networks. Uh, but from a security standpoint, as long as you're using separate wallets with their own seed phrase, you're going to be good.
Uh, Lynn, I appreciate your generous sharing of knowledge. Absolutely. It's what I'm here for. I appreciate you all your good questions.
Uh [clears throat] yeah, Ma, exactly. I don't I don't uh I still use my Seedless Tangent wallet because I have it. I don't want to waste it. But um the majority of my crypto the majority of my Tangent wallets that have um crypto on them use a seed phrase.
Uh Joshua says, "Cyerscilla, I love your content. Let's be anti-cammer warriors in the web 3 space forever." That's always the goal. Absolutely. Appreciate you. Tribe Revolution says, "Thanks for answering my question. So, if we just go by Tangent Wallet, it will automatically sign us up for the drawing." Yeah, exactly.
