BUSTING PREGNANCY MYTHS WITH JEHIELY & ALEX追加:
Okay guys, welcome back. So I am going to be doing a video about pregnancy myths and facts. So I'm going to start with these guys on the first question if they think it's a myth or a fact. So the first one is eating spicy foods can induce labor. True >> myth.
>> While spicy foods may cause discomfort or heartburn, there's no scientific evidence to support the notion that it can induce labor. Wow. Good job. Good job. You know why? I heard that like on TV shows. I heard that I think even on like reals, so I'm like, I got this in the bag. This is true. It was false.
>> High five.
>> That's my baby daddy.
>> Okay, so this one controversial with me and Alex because I was told by a friend that this happened to her. So, sleeping with your arms.
>> Sleeping with your arms above your head at night wraps the umbilical cord around the baby's neck.
>> Myth.
>> False.
>> Myth.
>> Reaching high or raising your arms above your head does not pose any risk to the baby. The umbilical cord is flexible and long enough. But answer me this. How come babies come out with the umbilical cord wrapped around the different reason >> if it's long enough?
>> No, it's cuz So, this is the thing. This is the thing. And I don't >> Yeah, go ahead.
>> I'm not 100% sure, right? Mhm.
>> But today I found out how far along I am. And I also found out that the baby is in there doing back flips. That's literally the word. Back flips.
>> Really?
>> Yes. So, I feel like the umbilical cord is a cord. If the baby is in water and it's moving and turnurning and flipping, there's a possibility it could get wrapped around. You know, it there's just a possibility. It's a cord. If you mind, it's just a chance because it >> was a chance.
>> If it was that bad of a design, we wouldn't there wouldn't be millions and billions of people.
>> A lot of us. No, it's a rare thing. I want to say.
>> Mhm.
>> Right.
>> Okay. Well, I still stick by with what I say.
>> Even after Yeah. I still stick by it. I still stick by.
>> Wow. Mom, you're stubborn.
>> Wow. I was going to say wow.
>> So, humble yourself and say I was wrong.
I'm going off of experience from a friend. No, >> come on. It obviously happened for a different reason.
>> Okay, so myth three, heartburn during pregnancy means your baby's going to come out with a lot of hair.
>> False as myth mythical creature as it could be.
>> So it actually says heartburn, a common pregnancy symptom, occurs during hormonal changes and growing uterus.
While some studies suggest a correlation between heartburn and fetal hair growth, it is not a reliable indicator.
>> Now, hair is only genetics.
>> You and Jordan came out bald pretty much >> because of our genetics.
>> So, myth number four, the shape and height of your belly determines the baby's sex. I've always heard that.
>> Biggest myth I've ever heard.
>> I've always heard that. Okay. So, it says it says the shape and size of your belly are influenced by factors such as body type, muscle tone, previous pregnancies. Your weight and the baby's position. It has no connection to the baby's sex. Okay. So, consuming coffee or caffeine increases the risk of a miscarriage.
>> False.
>> That's false.
>> Yeah.
>> Wait, wait. So, Oh, okay. Okay. Okay.
>> That there's no I don't think there's a correlation at all. It says moderate caffeine intake up to 200 milligrams a day is generally considered safe during pregnancy is unlikely to increase the risk of miscarriage. However, it is crucial to consume caffeine in moderation and consult with your doctor.
So, sleeping on your back can harm your baby.
>> True.
>> Um, true in a in a way. Yeah.
>> Yeah. True. True. Okay. So it says while sleeping on your side is generally recommended during pre pregnancy, occasional back sleeping is not known to harm the baby. As any pregnancy progresses, sleeping on your side may improve the blood flow to the uterus and enhance comfort.
>> So that's what I was getting at.
>> Pillows are available for that.
>> Yeah. Okay.
>> That's what I was getting at. It's like obviously if you sleep on your back, the baby's not going to die, but doctors recommend you not to sleep on your back just in case you restrict the blood flow to the baby.
>> That's wild. I never knew nothing would happen.
>> Me neither. Me neither, >> girl. I went my whole pregnancy just doing whatever I wanted.
>> That's what I was kind of getting at was how would how would women know this if if we weren't like if the women weren't told, >> right, >> not sleep on their backs?
>> I don't know. A myth. Exercise should be avoided during pregnancy.
>> Myth. Extreme myth. If you avoid exercise during pregnancy, you might end up struggling with labor.
>> Okay. I think walking is fine. I don't see nothing wrong with that, but like lifting like little light weights and and stuff. I I me during my first pregnancy, I would not have done. Maybe the second or third one, >> you know, you got to see how you you handle being pregnant.
>> Do you know what I'm saying? I don't know. That's just me. Don't come at me.
I don't know. I'm just saying that's my opinion.
>> Yeah. Well, your opinion's wrong, ma'am.
>> But it does say unless advised otherwise by your health care provider, regular exercise is generally safe and beneficial. Mhm.
>> Engaging in physical activity can alleviate pregnancy discomfort, boost mood, enhance energy. So, >> you know how much >> just don't overdo it.
>> You know how much um how many steps the internet says I should be taking with my age, how far along I am, 10,000 steps.
>> That's ridiculous. That's a regular person. That's what the um general public is supposed to be doing.
So, I don't believe that. is you told me that I should to be able to maintain a regular weight.
>> Comment down below if you think 10,000 steps is too much. I think it's too much.
>> They're going to say no because they probably didn't do it either. That is a lot. That's a lot of steps.
>> That's That's what a regular person is supposed to be doing.
>> And we don't even know.
>> They're going based off my age.
>> Yeah.
>> And how far along I am. And they're saying like, you know, they were like, you should aim for 10,000 steps >> to keep your your weight, you know, where it should be, but if not, at least 6,000 steps.
>> So, to keep your weight where it should be.
>> Yeah. Like a health, you know, cuz you're eating right now a lot. And then you need to be able to move at least this much a day if you're not working out. It said if you're not working out >> to be able to keep a healthy weight because I think it's girl I'm going up in weight like this. I'm terrified.
>> How much weight have you gained?
>> 10 lbs.
>> 10 lb.
>> I'm 150.
>> 10 lb.
>> I'm 150. I'm I'm not even I got five more months to go.
>> It's I gained 35 or 40 lbs.
>> Close to >> Yeah. close to 50 is what I gained. I when I right before I gave birth I was like healthy 155. No it wasn't.
>> I was but she was 15 your mom was underweight.
>> Yeah. I was like and then she gained So she went to a decent weight.
>> So you when you gave birth you were what?
>> 155.
>> Okay. Haley saying she's at 150 right now.
>> Right now girl it's like me going to 200.
>> That's true.
>> Come on now. Come on now.
>> Honestly gaining 50 lbs is pretty scary.
>> That's a lot. But she was underweight.
So for her it's probably better. For her it's probably better for her to do it.
>> Man, going from 100 to 150 is crazy.
>> Yeah, I was tiny. Another one is you should eat for two during pregnancy.
>> Myth.
>> Okay, so Haley always says, "Baby Tample's hungry. We got to feed Baby T."
because she's Yeah, she might need a little extra maybe >> or cravings, you know, like maybe Tapo's hungry or like I'm hungry, but I try not to eat that that much.
>> Okay, so it says while it's true your nutritional needs increase during pregnancy.
You don't need to eat twice as much.
>> Twice as much. No.
>> Yeah, but stick to, you know, your fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and stuff like that. A lot of fruit over here with honeys and yogurt.
>> Mhm. Morning sickness only happens IN THE MORNING.
>> LIES.
>> That's lies.
>> We all know that's lies.
>> Find out. It's lies.
>> Mine was at night.
>> Only at night. Yeah. Yeah. And so was was my aunt Darlene's. Hers was at night.
>> Could you sleep?
>> No.
>> Oh, I feel so bad for you. Too bad for you.
>> Oh my god. The hair the smell of hairspray. I remember that so much.
>> The hairspray. It just like and you know I think my sense of smell enhanced also cuz I remembered like little certain smells >> when you're pregnant. Oh, it's a known thing sister. I'm pretty sure you did.
>> So like >> I'm pretty sure you did. Yeah, >> it's a known thing that it happens to women.
>> So despite its name, morning sickness, it can occur any time of the day. It varies from woman to woman. You may experience it throughout the day, but stay hydrated, eat small, frequent meals, and yeah. Can dogs sense your pregnancy?
>> No, >> of course not.
>> I do believe dogs or cats can can sense it. I don't know why. I've seen where they can sense uh cancer. They can smell cancer.
>> Well, we know that's not true or else they'd be in the medical field.
So, it says, "While dogs have a keen sense of smell and can detect changes in your body odor or behavior, there is no scientific evidence to support."
>> So, I still stick by with what I say.
>> Okay.
You can you imagine every dog would be next to a doctor.
>> Come on, boy. Sniff it out. We can throw away all these expensive machines. We don't need them.
That's money right there for the insurance for the doctors and stuff.
>> Think about it.
>> I'm thinking >> about like >> it's not register.
>> No, I'm saying it's cheap to use an animal. They want your money.
>> No, the prices of dogs would just skyrocket.
So, another myth.
>> You can't have a cat in the house while you're pregnant.
>> Lies.
>> That's obvious a lie.
>> Just don't clean their boxes.
>> I want to suggest it, but it's too late.
We already love these babies.
>> You absolutely can keep a cat while you are pregnant. Precautions should be taken to avoid contracting toxopplasmosis.
That include that includes adding new cats or kittens to your home during your pregnancy. The toxopplasmosis prevention guidelines are don't mess with the litter boxes haven't.
>> But if there's no other way that you that you just absolutely have to use gloves, wash your hands. Litter boxes should be changed daily to prevent parasite from becoming infectious. So you can't delay the cord clamping if you save core blood.
>> Oh wait, wait. What?
>> Yeah. What was the question again?
>> You can't delay cord clamping. You can't delay cord come if you save cord blood.
>> I don't even know what that's asking.
>> I don't know what that's asking.
>> Um, it says you can do both. Delay clamping for 30 to 60 seconds pause before clamping and cutting the umbilical cord. This is believed to allow more blood flow back to the infant. The remaining blood from the umbilical cord can be collected by the doctor and saved. The blood is then returned to the collection kit and picked up by the poured blood bank for storage. So, it's almost like donating it.
>> Mhm.
>> I I mean 30 to how how many seconds?
>> Um 20 to 30 seconds.
>> I say 5 minutes. Yeah.
>> No, I think you meant for clamping the cord.
>> Okay.
>> To clamp it. Yeah. But to cut it 5 minutes.
>> I say five minutes before you cut it.
They they want to cut it easy. They want all right cuz they they don't care about the baby that much. They just want to get their job done. But I say 5 minutes.
I mean three minimum.
>> Many women swear by this. Creams and oils help prevent stretch marks. Do you believe that?
>> Yes.
>> Prevent.
I feel like that's more genetics. So maybe not prevent, but maybe it can help with the severity of them. I don't think it'll fully prevent. No. So, it says there are a lot of over-the-counter products claiming to prevent stretch marks. Unfortunately, there's no scientific evidence. Serums like hyaluronic acid and the herb Santella show promise according to the dermatology association. Okay, so that's it with those. Okay guys, so we are at the park walking. It's a dog park.
>> The dog park.
We're It says Pilner Dog Park.
>> Look, back there.
>> Well, it's an area.
>> People go up there.
>> Look at the rock.
>> Look, that's like a little trail. People go up there.
>> Are you trying to go up?
>> No, because I'm pregnant. Maybe Haley has done a different >> Is there like Is it like a ritual place or what? It's just a rock.
>> I think it's just the rocks.
>> Oh. So, why are you scared to go up there?
>> Snakes?
>> No. Yeah.
>> Oh, you think there's snakes up there?
>> No.
>> She said, "Why are you scared to go up there?"
>> Oh my gosh. Should we go? Should we go?
>> Go ahead. Go. Go. Go.
>> Crazy. Over a rock.
>> You want to go? I can.
>> Where do you think the snakes are? In the rocks.
>> Rock. Yeah.
>> You think?
>> I mean, I don't know. There. Maybe. No.
>> Probably.
>> That would be so cool.
>> Look, I can stand right there and I can film you.
>> That would be so cool.
>> I want to go up there.
>> Get up there. Mom, >> you want to get up there? I'll get up there with you.
>> You get up there with him?
>> I don't know. I don't want him to get bit. I don't think it's worth it for me.
I doubt I doubt a snake will actually like >> Oh, you'd be surprised, dog.
>> Yeah, dog.
>> All right, dog.
>> All right.
>> All right. This is >> Let's keep going because >> Yeah. Yeah.
>> I'm a little stressed.
>> Yeah, we just need the rocks.
>> But it's almost like I kind of want to go up there just to look.
>> You all talk, man.
>> I do want to see a snake. I just don't want to get bit by a snake.
You know, >> I don't want to look at them.
>> I had a fascination.
>> I mean, behind like a glass. Okay.
>> No, no.
>> I always had a fascination fascination with snakes when I was younger.
>> But I'm scared. I used to catch them in the creek >> where I lived and put them in glass jars.
>> And my mom would make me like throw them out.
>> A >> These must be tiny snakes.
>> I mean, it wasn't no big snake. They were like little water snakes. I was a tomboy.
Okay, so Alex and Haley got stranded in this park one time. They was riding scooters. They were actually at a different park >> like two miles away.
>> Two miles away. They rode over to this one. And >> I don't know if you could see Oh my phone. I don't know if you could see there's branches everywhere popping out and it is such a rough >> notes >> terrain >> roots >> tree root >> like that >> tree roots >> and it was night we got caught in >> and they got caught and it was so much trouble for them to get through here and they had to go all the way back to the other park to get to the car.
>> Oh.
>> So it was a nightmare and it was dark.
Haley was scared. She said, >> "I was terrified."
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Yes, baby. I was scared. It was dark.
The only light we had was what? Nothing.
The little the little light on the little bike.
>> Oh, I was going to say, did they have lights?
>> Yeah, but it was so tiny. It's not even >> basically all it showed was the little trail in front like this.
>> Oh my gosh. There's no way.
>> Yeah. So, basically all you saw was a little in front of you on the ground.
>> Yeah.
>> And everything was just pitch black.
They always want to come to the park like late.
>> Look, you see how there's nothing around? What I'm telling you was pitch black.
>> Pitch black.
>> That's scary.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. No, no, no. This is some Jason stuff.
>> Maybe that's why I hate you.
>> I was scared of a man. I was >> Yeah. I wasn't scared of like like animals and stuff. I was scared some weird creep just waiting, lurking to hunt us down. Gosh, >> I watch too many shows, y'all.
>> Yes. But yeah, there's no way I will want to get caught in the dark in any kind of woods or forest.
>> But you know what I'm saying?
>> Yeah. No, >> that was before we knew how long a mile was.
>> We found real quick.
>> It was four miles.
>> God. Yeah. Here and back. Yeah.
>> Yeah. We did two here, two back.
>> Dang. No way. Look at this scary
