WHO Blunder at Sea: Ship Passengers Locked into Cabins Exposed to More Hantavirus in Ventilation

[00:00:04]You may have been following the illness plaguing a cruise ship.

[00:00:09]Hantavirus, a virus that comes from rodents, rodent droppings to be specific. Not particularly common. I hear about a few cases in the Southwest every year, Arizona, New Mexico, and so forth. Uh but they're on a ship. They couldn't leave. There have been fatalities. They're now taking some of the people off the ship and monitoring them closely, but this is a frightening situation. Joining me to discuss is the chief scientific officer at the Wellness Company, Dr. Peter McCullough.

[00:00:36]Um if you're on a ship or an airplane and this this air is recirculating, this is a terrible situation, isn't it?

[00:00:44]It's terrible. Steve, they had some video last night on the primetime news.

[00:00:49]They're not letting people get out of their cabins, even get fresh air out on the deck.

[00:00:55]Uh a mouse or a rat must have brought it on board, and it's in the droppings of the rats. That gets into the dust and gets recirculated through the air system in the ship. The worst thing possible is to be trapped in your cabin, which is exactly what they're making the passengers do. Three have died. They airlifted off yesterday three more, including a British doctor. This is hantavirus. This causes a severe pulmonary infection, pulmonary edema, uh hemorrhage, and renal failure, and death. This is nothing to play around with. Uh in order to neutralize it, you you have to try to use alcohol wipes.

[00:01:35]Um I think people should be using nasal sprays and gargles. Uh some of it lands in the nose and the mouth, but some could directly go into the lungs, and we don't know if any antivirals like um oseltamivir or ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine would work, but you know, people should at least travel with one of these emergency kits on board.

[00:01:54]Sadly, I don't think people have any form of defense right now and they're not letting them get off the ship. They They were off the coast of Cape Verde, they wouldn't let them get off. Now they're heading towards the Canary Islands and you know, the Spanish government is telling the Islanders let them off and get some fresh air. They can monitor, you know, on land. They They've got to get off that ship.

[00:02:19]You know, the interesting thing here, the interesting thing is this virus, from what I understand, can be in your system and you not know it for up to eight weeks. I mean, so if they do get off the ship, there's an extended period of time where you could be a danger not only to yourself and your own health, but to those around you. Yes or no?

[00:02:39]Well, if it's the what's called Andy strain, it's possible for some human spread, but but no, in general, they're not at risk to others. It would mean an extended stay somewhere. Canary Islands could be fine if they can find some cabins for them to hang out, but they've got to get fresh air. They can't keep re-breathing this dust from the rat droppings in the in the ship or there will be more cases. Now, the incubation is 1 to 8 weeks and so that, you know, they left April 1st, the cases, you know, started to come up about mid-April and now they're really popping. So, I think they've got to get out of the exposure first and they can get to a safe place for monitoring, you know, on [clears throat] shore somewhere.

[00:03:24]And if you want antivirals, antiparasitics and antibiotics, I'm going to show you all this up. The Wellness Company has perfected these kits for years, doctor.
