An Index Universal Life (IUL) insurance policy allows policyholders to take loans against their cash value and then pay those loans back, with the insurance company refunding the interest to the cash value; this creates a cycle where the policyholder effectively pays themselves back while maintaining the policy's cash value, and the interest rates (such as 4.65%) are typically higher than what banks offer.

IUL Explained: How to Borrow From Yourself! #byob #vanntastic #moneymanagement #velocitybankingAdded:
You don't know what an IUL is, that's an index universal. And so, when I learned about 15 years ago now, I guess 16, I actually took loans for myself to fund the conference.
So, now I'm paying myself back. And Chris, you just taught me this what?
I was like, Chris, why why would I pay it back?
Why would I pay that off? And then he told me he he literally looked at me like I was stupid and he said, "Cuz you're paying yourself back and you can turn around and use it again. You're just refunding your own money and as you refund it, I get these statements every month."
And the insurance company will send me a statement and it said, you know, since I paid back this amount of money, this much of my interest caused was refunded back to my cash value.
And I was like, I am not even paying cuz mine currently, I think it's 4.65 on the first one I got.
And 4.65% are you going to find that at a bank? I don't think so.
