[00:00:22]Doesn't look like any church I've been to before.

[00:01:22]>> Never. We don't even know what a cowboy church is. Could you please tell me?

[00:01:25]Like, what What makes this different than a regular church?

[00:01:28]>> Rural areas like this, we have farmers and ranchers, cowboy churches just started popping up. And our pastor is a five-time world champion cowboy.

[00:01:38]And so, I train horses all day long, every day.

[00:01:42]>> Working ranches.

[00:01:44]>> Or working ranches.

[00:01:46]>> There's no day off from feeding. There's no day off from, you know.

[00:01:50]So, they would actually ride up on their horseback and have a church service.

[00:01:58]>> Ah, cool.

[00:01:59]>> I think it appeals to a lot of people.

[00:02:01]>> It's like me, I'm not a cowboy.

[00:02:03]>> But I've spent my life in the country music business.

[00:02:40]>> So this really is a cowboy church.

[00:02:42]>> Yeah. The first cowboy church I ever went to, it was a functional horse barn.

[00:02:47]So they had the stalls that have the bars, you know. And they would open them and then the horses would have their heads out, you know. And if you were sitting too close, they'd try to nibble at your straw hat, you know.

[00:03:44]>> I I just love coming here. It's definitely not your like, we're not this big production, but I mean, everybody here is genuine. We see he's amazing things done here. But I mean, I'll show up in Crocs sometimes.

[00:04:59]I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it, but I am buzzing to be here. The people in here are incredibly nice. I've pretty much met everyone in the church. Me and Ellis have just gone around shaking hands with everyone.

[00:14:00]>> and you have to doctor these cattle.

[00:14:02]>> Your horse is trained to go in the herd and you pick out a particular cow and your horse will help you move and separate that cow or calf from the rest of the herd.

[00:14:14]Then typically they'll rope that calf, tie him down so they can doctor him, doctor his ears, whatever. You know, whatever whatever needs to happen, but that horse is trained to work the calf.

[00:14:27]Have y'all ever ridden horses, been around horses very much at all?

[00:14:30]>> I've ridden a horse once in Mexico.

[00:14:31]>> Okay. Okay. Well, this is the tack room.

[00:14:34]This is where they keep their saddle. We call it tack, all the paraphernalia.

[00:14:39]>> Saddle pads, goes under the saddle, bridles, all those things, all the different saddles. This is the workshop for a horse trainer.

[00:15:50]>> A lot of time and work. That horse right there, that's Snap. He's out of a 46's mare, 6's cowgirl, out of Jesse's Topaz um stud out of a Mr. Jess Perry.

[00:16:02]But he's a good horse. He's for sale right now. I just sold one this morning for about 10,000, going to Oklahoma.

[00:16:41]>> Yeah, so they're all bred for working cows, doing any work here on the on the ranch.

[00:16:46]>> You saw some cattle in the pastures when you drove up. Yeah, yeah. They'll bring those cattle in and use those cattle to train the horses on.

[00:16:53]>> Right, that's what they do in the arena there. Now, over here, we've got the arena of the ranch. Check it out.

[00:16:59]This is where they'll practice doing whatever they do.

[00:17:03]This place is well impressive. It's a full-blown ranch with a church attached to it.

[00:17:09]>> crazy. I've never been anywhere like this in my life, ever.

[00:17:12]>> I mean, it's a bit of a different church experience, isn't it?

[00:17:14]>> Our girls use some of the horse shampoo for themselves cuz they like it better.

[00:17:19]>> Yeah. So this is the the horse car wash.

[00:17:22]They'll pull in they'll pull in, yeah?

[00:17:23]Do they have to pay?

[00:17:25]No. [laughter] I mean some of these horses are real beautiful.

[00:17:37]>> For the most part they they train horses for other people.

[00:17:41]>> Oh yeah, so you can send your horse here to get trained up.

[00:17:43]>> Exactly. They typically pretty good, but they're animals they're not machines.

[00:17:49]And if a horse a horse like that he can reach down and get a 500 lb calf bite him and lift him up off the ground.

[00:17:58]>> That's how strong it is. So he could literally bite your finger off.

And then they'll just talk to us for like half an hour, telling us where we should go, and and like, you don't get that in the city, like you go to Miami, you come to the US, you're going to have a completely different experience than if you go to these little towns, you know?
