From Zero to 10,000 Subscribers in Just 2 Months! Thank You From Grandma Joan & LucasAdded:
Hi. I'm Lucas.
And I'm Joan. And today we want to do kind of a special video thanking everybody for uh we have 10,000 subscribers, which is just amazing. I mean, it's I don't know, just uh about 2 months, I guess, since we started, and that's just amazing. Um me and my mom been really happy, you know, doing things together. It's kind of brought us closer together. We've talked about a lot of things that we haven't talked about in a long time, or things that I didn't even know about her, she didn't know about me.
So, it's really good. I will say one thing that if you're not a subscriber, please do subscribe because about 90% of the people that watch the videos that we put out are not subscribed to our channel, actually. So, if all of you subscribe, we'd have like 100,000 subscribers.
That'd be amazing.
So, [gasps] please [clears throat] subscribe if you haven't, but we really, really want to thank you. You know, it it it is amazing me. It amazes me, and it certainly amazes you, doesn't it? Yes, because I don't understand what people do to watch.
My leisure time and leisure activity is reading.
And I think it's wonderful that people want to know about an ordinary aging I don't like I don't like the three-letter words, o l d and a g e.
Those are bad words.
And I don't I think it's fun that somebody cares, and I didn't know you could make money off having people watch. I always save when I can my social security.
I try to save for my funeral fund.
I don't have any insurance and I first thought about when I came here, I thought it'd be a really hardship for someone when I die.
Because my daughter and Lucas, they'll have to pay the cost. And so I want to save myself and I looked into those insurances where you pay so much a month if you're older and after so long.
And I've been checked with the funerals mortuary place here about how much it would cost so I could start to save and put money aside.
And I had it in envelope. I kept it in my the bag where I keep my prescription medicines.
And a little little separate thing.
And I would build it up and then something would happen.
First year I was here my pipes froze and so what little bit I had saved up paid the plumber and that was well worth it, believe me, my brother.
And then another time I had to get hot water heater.
But I did have money saved and I'm grateful and thankful.
But right now I have zero in that fund.
And now I'm off track but anyway, the opportunity to make money so I won't be a burden to anyone. No one will have to be out of pocket that I can know that I paid my own way for my funeral expenses is what I want. That's my goal.
I don't need anything.
So now that we've brought you all down, >> [laughter] >> sorry.
But but we do really want to thank you.
You know, it's amazing to reach 10,000 subscribers and I hope that someday we do reach 100,000 subscribers. And you know, we're we're trying to come up with new ideas to do things. We're working hard on the cookbook. And we're here I think that's going to be really good. It's going to show like, you know, what groceries she gets every month and how she plans out her meals and then when she makes the meals, you know, what the recipes are for all the different meals. And there'll be a lot of ones that you know, you've never seen before also. And also then then, you know, how she eats those meals so you have some idea because you have you can't just eat the same soup, you know, all week long.
You have to >> Oh, no, no. I put them in the freezer and rotate them.
>> Yeah. So, so that'll all be there. So, we're but we really really want to thank you again. And uh please do subscribe.
>> Subscribe to our channel. And but uh thank you very very much for this. And uh we'll we'll talk about how YouTube has really kind of changed our life at some point too because it's really really really has helped. And it's not just financially. It's been lots of other ways. So, but thank you very much for watching and we really really appreciate it. And we wish you all a long, healthy healthy, happy life.
And live frugally.
Then you have more to spend. Sometime we'll talk about how we're saving to travel.
Thank you very much.
