Guam’s culture deserves more attention 🇬🇺🏝️❤️ #guam #islandlifeAjouté :
I came to Guam for the scenery, but left thinking about the people. Before visiting, I honestly knew nothing about Chamorro culture or what life here was really like. But, the more time I spent on the island, the more I realized there's a deep identity here that runs far beyond the coastline. I learned about latte stones, ancient pillars used as the foundations of traditional Chamorro homes, and symbols of family strength and heritage [music] that still carry meaning today. But, what stayed with me the most wasn't the things and places that I saw. It was the people that I met. Everywhere I went, I was welcomed with warmth, kindness, and a real pride in sharing their island and culture. Guam isn't just somewhere you visit. It's somewhere that welcomes you in.
