I was a professional baba.

I mean 1995 was still very tender then.
So I grew up in Abuja.

It was just a thing you get somebody actually just go and do this thing. So when I started things were rough but then I was like this thing just have to work out even when I had no idea the place I was overworking I went there as a novice but I have to stand out to be one of the best baba a time so there's this push that has always been there yeah I remember my first salary then where I was working was 6,000 while my colleagues were receiving far more beyond that he yet but there's this resistance like guy small to this thing and this thing has be the regular baba for street so I remember I added I start I stopped calling myself a baba I started calling myself professional baba like so so it makes more sense to me so my life before then was this guy that just always wanted more want more for himself so there was never a time even okay I was working at this place called case ba that place where we were being paid uh record is just 4,000 naira and there it's in the street there in Koba but before I get the connection I meet one of my big clients that's honorella I get to meet him and from there we started working together introduced me to I where I was working that place I was working Yeah, the difference was so much.
But I remember going to work. I don't have transport. I don't have money to feed there. But I just cover it off. I cuz I I see the end. I was always seeing the end. I knew that this place, this is where I'm supposed to be right now, and this is going to work out. So with that, it kept me going. I wasn't seeing the challenges around it. over when I I remember I would check and when clients call me I would just tell them okay I'm coming and I would start going I don't have transport but know I would just beat everything and that was I started meeting people I met a lot of celebrities many of them have my contact and they were like and we became good men like good pals so yeah I think that's all I have to say for now I've concerned my life before then it was just this guy that was just outgoing I became very good in the hair industry, the barbing industry like I got a lot of clients. I was doing very well and you hear some of my client they will come be like more he did very good. They say this guy spoil my hair for so please for so please and good lot of those hair I was correcting and I have people also who have traveled as at that time uh just like I said I always wanted more for myself so at a point even the place was no longer I was I wasn't feeling I wasn't feeling it anymore I feel there's something more I need to push ahead but there's nothing I could see with I could see myself doing in Nigeria except I want to start another skills and if I want to start another skills what was that skills that will take me to this point so since this thing is also paying well it's paying outside and they paying good currency why not push up because at that time it looks like where I was working was the biggest in Abuja and look like I have all the big client that I needed But then this thing would not give me that thing that I that life I really want inside of me. So I felt like okay I just have to go I couldn't sleep at a point I stopped going to my house. I stopped going home.
I was sleeping in shop. I had I have my own house then but then I wasn't going back home because I needed more phones like if not nothing makes sense to me again. The only that makes sense to is just to be in that place I can I can get that dream life that thing I've always want for myself place I I know I never wanted my children to struggle the kind of struggle I went through so I I just that was the point the idea started coming that you have to leave the country and from there I started reaching out to one or two I talked to some of my clients and you just be like okay uh we'll reach out somebody that will call person for you and uh nothing was coming out but then there's this mindset already there that man need help man but we got fight oursel to survive we got figure it out so I reach out to some agent and they were like got 8 million to travel my initial plan was to go to Canada or USA but to go to those places they like you need to also some amount and half.
This was not my budget. Not somebody told me 10 million. I need 10 million. The other one was like I need like 8 million. The list was just 8 million they were calling and I don't have that kind of money you get.
And also I feel like I'm become coming to age that I need to put things in place too for myself and for my farm. I need to prepare the ground for my family too. So I wasn't seeing the bargaining work to be able to take care of that and so I felt so let me just raise my capital. So when I got my capital what I have with me was I don't know if I should mention the amount.
So what I had then was enough to go through the road part. So I made contact and when I made the contact and the guy was like huh this thing can bring you here and when you get to this place you get to leave all you just need to do in leia is to work more and gather more money. you just cross there's nothing there and it's just high just 4 months journey for you know you all they go and I'm like I take the subtraction although I knew it was a dangerous one but then I wasn't seeing it to be that like I didn't know it was that dangerous though so I was just thinking okay do they give and take 4 months man don't face everything need to face everything finish and the danger I was just seeing was meditarian sea if you survive medit arian sea you enter Europe if you don't survive you die there so that was just all I knew about the journey yeah so the day I we spoke with the guy and the guy was like guy okay how much you get so I told him okay Cece see like okay this will bring you And we were like we were two me and my brother said the money was enough to carry me and my brother. So I was not like okay I believe from that day I started preparing myself for the worst for something that I don't know about. I remember that day I called my guy uh David Dave touch. So I called him my colleague. I called I say guy travel see the view and this only you I want me know want make anybody get involved so come to za we drink that we dry take we do te ch fish so from that day I was just trying to catch enough fun that would take me for the next four months that I will look back to I was just opening my mind I was just preparing my mind from That very day we had had that conversation with that guy. So I left when I left Abuja to Bini.
From Bini I have to stay have to make another we did other things other preparation traditionally now do other traditional preparation and the rest. So from there I also call some of my I called my pastors them. I just told them that I'm about to engage in something that I don't know where it to take me to but then I know at the end of it there's light at the end of the tunnel so just wish me well just pray for me they ask me where you go I go j my flight I know they greeted there see I won't do so just left for me well that moment was all preparation until the very day where he come on the 20th of January 20th th of January 2023. Yeah.
223 or 24th of January that day that was supposed to go to can cross border. They don't want to cross border. That was when it was a different thing done on me against a guy. I remember that moment we were three three of us that was going me my brother and my in-law.
when my mother escort us they go my sisters they cry so just play for my head it's a guy just like soldiers now they go war and that battlefield we don't know what to go see we don't know go die we don't know collect injury we don't know anything so when the thing hit me I was seeing some of those movie then and I was like and the reality actually this now I don't know where we go don't know anybody there nobody know us so it was like we are going to a battlefield. I had that that feeling was so cold there. It was so cold that day like well they just select us they just recruit us for military training know they prepare for send us go battlefield and now in my head okay we don't know who's going to survive this thing we don't know we're going to see there know they we don't know what is the enemy home we know we can't describe it I was just thinking that I saw my sister crying my mom was crying everybody was crying I don't know if I know if I ever see them again or how long it will take me to see them even the country I know I say I won't go I don't know the hus did here. I don't know if the if this one for better pass that one that is the Italy the Europe itself. So all those things was just playing in my head but then I was like we are the line man can't I can't say no now I already tell my guy I don't move so really sh me but then I was like when I see my sister tears my last born when I see that tears it didn't really break me but I know see I did no matter what I go see there one thing was just confident I had a scripture in my back of my heart And the spirit of the Lord God has gone before me and he has made the crooked way straight. That was my quote scripture. And even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. I had those things, those scriptures strong. Those things were just my motivation. So anytime I think about those things, I just be like the spirit of the Lord God has gone before me and he has made a crooked way straight. So just g that guy first told us make not let anybody know. So we travel. So we come all of us come leave our bag just hide our bag. So we do for we do we do nor one month now we do for the desert one month we dry steady inside the cool reach one time I don't forget the name of that area now take get blanket those place one rogue just there for that side ro they dr there good something like that for that side there so as people they walk there so that's reach there they come give us food actually seen came they said camel meats and everything we eat all those normal food my brother come get the [ __ ] for us after 3 weeks then that one happen from there we come start another journey again I don't start this journey take our don't finish our water he for the motor everybody get water carry water they put for the motor there for the engine side so now our come finish for desert my god Ah after the test come begin come the test come begin come after the test and the hunger for some days go drive reach one well you see the water brown water and salt for desert water and actually know when we get the water for the first time we don't care for that one as we drink the water.
Whatever body they drink finish at the end of the day we see woman inside the water see dead body inside that water they drink a dead body inside God we don't meat do anything the co and everything inside our body drink finish say too late woman got follow up game.
