Why Colombians Say “Wednesday” When They’re Angry 😂

[00:00:06]And Colombians use Wednesday as a swear word.

[00:00:13]Miercoles means Wednesday.

[00:00:16]Sure.

[00:00:17]But in Colombia, it's also a way to say something much worse.

[00:00:22]You know, like when you hit your toe and instead of the real word, you say shoot in English or domedoga in Flemish or zut in French.

[00:00:41]So, that's what miercoles is here. You drop your phone, miercoles.

[00:00:48]Traffic is a disaster, miercoles.

[00:00:52]Your tinto went cold, miercoles.

[00:00:56]Clean, polite, but everybody knows exactly what you mean.

[00:01:01]But then there is miercoles, the very long one that the A goes really long, no?

[00:01:09]So, the shorter the miercoles, the less [snorts] problems you have. Losing your wallet is very miercoles.

[00:01:19]But in Colombia, we use it for many, many times, so we have a lot of miercoles in Colombia.

[00:01:30]Um it's a way to keep it clean and not to swear too much in public, but everybody knows what you mean.
