Professional podcast creation platforms should offer five essential capabilities: custom voice cloning for brand identity, full script editing control for content accuracy, built-in hosting and distribution to eliminate external costs, automated scheduling for consistent publishing, and API access for programmatic integration. These features enable creators to build sustainable audio content businesses rather than relying on limited free tools that lack customization, control, and automation capabilities.

How to automatically create and publish podcasts for your business
Added:Notebook LM is great at one thing, turning your documents into a quick podcast style conversation. But the second you try to do anything beyond that, you're likely to hit a wall. There are five specific things Notebook LM just can't do, which Jellypod handles right out of the box. If you're trying to actually run a show or build a business that publishes audio or make a podcast your business, whatever it is, these are the things you're going to care about. So let's get into it. First we have the voices. Notebook LM gives you two default hosts. That is it. The same two voices everyone else's Notebook LM podcast users. So if you're trying to build a show with any kind of identity, you sound exactly like of other people who publish on Notebook LM every single day. Jellypod lets you customize your host completely. You can clone your own voice, pick from a library of voices, or build a custom host with a personality that you want. If you're a creator, this is non-negotiable. Your voice is your brand. You can't outsource that to two robots that everyone else on the internet is already using and knows. The voice cloning feature is probably my personal favorite and it's absolutely crazy. I highly recommend you test it out. Okay, second we have script control. In Notebook LM, you generate the audio and you pray. There's no editing the script. The host can go on a tangent, skip the thing you actually wanted them to cover, or just hallucinate something weird. And your only option is to regenerate and hope it's better the next time around.
Jellypod gives you the full script for anything that's recorded. Want to change a line? Edit it. Want to cut a whole section? Just delete it. You can even rewrite chunks of your script using AI and discuss which tone and length you want. So essentially, you're the actual producer, not just a passenger like in Notebook LM where you are at the mercy of whatever Google generates. Okay, so third we have hosting. Here's the thing that nobody tells you about Notebook LM.
Once you generate a podcast, you still have to figure out how to actually host it and distribute it. You're going to have to download the audio files, upload them somewhere else. You're most likely going to have to pay for some kind of hosting provider, which can cost you $15 to $30 a month, talking Buzzsprout or Libsyn. And the bottom line is there's just going to be a lot of added hassle.
So although yes, you can use a lot of Notebook LM for free, you do have to take that into account. When you hit publish on Jellypod, your episode goes straight to the connected Spotify and Apple podcast shows. And you definitely do not have to worry about getting a separate hosting provider. Every one of your shows is going to get its own website, an RSS feed, and analytics built right into the platform. That way you can see what's actually working and what isn't. It's an entire end-to-end podcast platform, not just a generator.
Okay, fourth we have automations.
Notebook LM is 100% manual. Every episode means logging in, uploading sources, generating, downloading, uploading somewhere else. If you want a daily or weekly show, you're going to do that whole song and dance every single time. Jellypod has automations. Give it a prompt, something like summarize today's top AI news. Then, set a schedule. You can choose Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 9:00 a.m. Once you've done that, the episode is going to generate and publish itself every single day on that schedule at the exact time you set. One of the biggest problems with growing podcasts is that people simply can't maintain consistency. Jellypod makes sure you will never miss an episode. This alone is the difference between a podcast you actually ship and grow, and a podcast you keep talking about shipping or maybe really sporadically and never goes anywhere. Okay, and then finally, and this one's for the devs in the audience, Jellypod has an API. Notebook LM does not. If you want to generate episodes programmatically, hook it up to your content management system. Then you can trigger episodes off events in your product or build it into a customer workflow, anything you want. But for all of that, you're going to need an API.
Notebook LM is a closed product and does not have one. Jellypod is a platform you can build on easily. If you're a developer or run a business with real content workflows, this will make an enormous difference to your life and allow you to automate tons of super valuable content, which should drive you a lot of customers. So, there we have it. Those are the five things Notebook LM can't do that Jellypod can. To summarize, you have custom voices, full script control, built-in hosting and distribution, automations, and an API.
Don't get me wrong, Notebook LM is an amazing product. But if you're trying to actually run a show or build a business around audio content, you're going to outgrow it fast. If Jellypod looks interesting to you, there is a 7-day free trial, so go ahead and test it out.
There'll be a link in the description.
