I will constantly argue that the metabolism has to do with the progression of disease, but today that is very prevalent in the PCOS world and I really think it's a win for the PCOS girlies. PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, has been renamed to PMOS, poly endocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome. And why is that important is because half the time when someone is diagnosed with PCOS, they don't actually have cysts on the ovaries. And there are several different types of PCOS. You can have classical PCOS with cysts on the ovaries, inflammatory PCOS, post-pill PCOS, adrenal PCOS. So, you guys get it.
It can present as many different things.
Now, with that being said, often times females are having issues losing weight, struggling with their metabolism, and being told to eat less and move more.
Insert gym bro still telling you to do that. What we are seeing from this is PCOS, or now PMOS, is an endocrine and metabolic condition that is showing up in the reproductive system. Really important is it's putting endocrine and metabolic at the forefront, and I really, really think that is going to help females get the help that they deserve when they are struggling with something like this.
Now, from all of the cases that I have worked, two very prevalent themes have occurred, and that is very poor stress handling and very poor blood sugar handling or hyperinsulinemia.
