Another protester, a 34-year-old pregnant woman named Melissa, who chose to reveal only her first name, said she had lost her home 8 months ago.
She attended the demonstration with her young daughter, Victoria, hoping authorities will hear her message.
Parts of Europe are experiencing an unusual and intense heat wave that has broken temperature records in the United Kingdom and France this week, highlighting scientists' warnings about increasingly hotter summers.
