The Indian cultural heritage, particularly the philosophy of peace from the Indian subcontinent, has become deeply integrated into Indonesian identity, as evidenced by the Gamma Sadhana social group's peace assembly at Jakarta's national monument, which brought together religious leaders from Indonesia's diverse spectrum to pray for global peace and demonstrate how Indian cultural elements like Sanskrit-based Pancasila have become foundational to Indonesia's inclusive national values.

Indian community in Jakarta gather for world peaceAjouté :
Amidst the busyness of Jakarta's traffic, the city's national monument hosted an assembly of religious figures for a night of holy reflection.
The Gamma Sadhana social group brought together leaders from Indonesia's religious spectrum to pray for an end to global conflict using the silence of the monument as a backdrop.
About 3,000 people gathered at the event, which was officiated by the governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung. For the organizers, it was a chance to prove that the philosophy of peace brought from the Indian subcontinent [music] millennia ago is now an inseparable part of the Indonesian identity. We want to prove that the we are Indonesian Indian born and brought up here. We bring people all ethnics, multi-religions come together in one target, pranayama and meditation, separate their harmony, peace to the world. This spirit of inclusion is a foundation of the Indonesian state.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, even the very language of Indonesia's national ideology reflects these deep links. Indonesia is founded by all minorities, all religious dignities, local faith, animism, dynamism. So, that's why Pancasila is from the Sanskrit language, right? So, they Everybody, you know, can exist here. That shared vocabulary is why this heritage isn't tucked away in history books. In Indonesia, it is evident in the social values and cultural treasures held dearly. I know Tagore had said when he had come here 100 years back that I see India everywhere, but I cannot recognize it.
[music] So, it is Indonesian genius which has converted and and and presented it as its own culture and contributed to that culture. As the candles burn down, the organizers hope that the sentiment remains.
In a city that doesn't stop moving, this is a reminder that the oldest ties are often the most resilient.
Seeing these rituals being performed here at the at this iconic national monument in Jakarta, a landmark of Indonesia, is a unique reality. This just shows how much of Indian culture and heritage is deeply woven into the, you know, social and daily lives of Indonesia and and the Indonesian community.
