Heat. Heat.
Hey [ __ ] What's up [ __ ] Hello. It's bright and early today. Hi, Rebecca.
Welcome. I did not wear pink for the occasion.
I didn't think about it.
>> I don't own pink.
>> You have a You have a black shirt that has pink on it.
>> I can't find it since I got home. I wore it once when I got home and it's been gone since.
>> Weird.
Um, interesting. Well, uh, do I own any pink shirts or anything that's pink?
>> Shirt has some pink on it. The one >> at the show.
>> Yeah. Uh, I was going to say that the um I used to have a like very light pink cardigan. I don't know if I still have that. Hey, look at this. Look what just made its way to my desk.
A little iceberg.
>> Cute.
>> I'm actually on CJ's side today because my desk was so messy.
>> I was a little late because I was like, >> but look how pretty that is.
I love when our when we get to use our little glasses.
Cheers, [ __ ] >> Weird. The little thing that's right here. I was like, what's wrong with my screen? I thought it was my screen. Can you see that? There's like this line right here.
>> No.
>> Look.
>> Cheers.
I don't see it. Oh, it's from this.
There we go. All right. Smell of that [ __ ] Right. What are we drinking?
>> Who knows who cares?
>> It's a good one.
>> A good one.
>> I just don't remember which one right now. So, I have to sip it cuz it's going to be rough.
>> No, it's good.
>> Oh, >> tasty.
>> Sweeter.
>> What's a goodie?
It like dissipated the second I touched my tongue. Holy cow.
Well, welcome Jessica and team a girl.
My room's a wreck right now, too.
office.
That whole desk is covered in like nail stuff and makeup stuff. So, like you could decide what kind of girl I am. But behind it, more makeup and nail stuff.
And then what else is over there right now? I have a big old box full of books and like bookmarks and just things.
It was a [ __ ] disaster over there today. I was like, I'm just going to take over for CJ's desk because all he has here are ants.
Yeah.
>> Oh, >> not ants. Ants.
So, >> on purpose.
>> Ants on purpose. Yeah, I probably should have said that. I didn't even think about that part.
>> On purpose. He's Leo wanted to take care of ants. So, we got big ass ants for him to wash to watch. Gross.
>> I'm going to finish blow drying my hair.
Wave your hands wildly if you need me.
Right. She said, "Hey ho, it was going through my mind."
>> Anyway, uh so we Dominique's going to be a little bit late. Whatevers. We'll allow it if she's wearing pink. If she's not, >> her hair is pink.
>> No, that doesn't count.
>> A red.
>> Yeah. Anyways, uh so we finished our April book for book club this month that is that was chosen by Dominique. Um our color of the month for read the rainbow is pink and we read Peril and Pink by Sydney Lee. Finished that one up.
Dez read the entire book today.
We'll chat about that shortly.
But hi Sherry, welcome. I know you were reading it. Did you finish reading this book?
Um, I finished it today. So, go me.
But, um, well, we'll wait. We'll wait. I was like, I'm already trying to get into it.
We'll wait. Uh, hold on. Do I have a I need a glass cleaner.
This one's cute. Has olives on it.
Okay. Thanks.
Uh, anyway, so how is everybody's two weeks? Last two weeks. We finished up April already. We're headed into May.
Dominic's running late. We're not sure why, but she said she'll be here very shortly, so no big deal.
No big deal. Diana is here. Welcome.
Every time I do this, CJ tells me I sound like that TV show Romper Room, which does and I were too young for.
>> Every time he says it, I'm like, you're old because I don't know what that show was. There's just like a kids show where it would kind of start off uh with someone saying looking through like a magnifying glass um at like all the kids that were kind of in the audience and stuff or like they're participating in like the show for the day. They'd be like, "I see Jessica and I see Rebecca and I see Desiree and I see you." Anyway, hilarious, right? She said, "You got to Google it."
Yeah. So, anyways, every time we say hello, it makes me think of it even though I've never seen it. It's just it has been CJ has mentioned it about 8,000 times since I met him. So, I literally think he was talking about it at work the other day because I think it was for the exact same reason, just like saying hello to everyone as they enter.
Anyway, what were you right about? Oh, you were right about the book. Okay, well, hold hold the phone on that one because I was I was Yeah. But I know I just gave some like rando answer two weeks ago. I was like, I don't know. I'll just pick a name.
>> As did De does. That was funny.
Um >> I don't even remember who I said.
>> You You straight up said like the main character. You were just being funny.
But um anyway, anybody do anything exciting over the last couple weeks?
I did not. Dez left. So whatever.
>> Why you say it like that?
>> Wanted it to sound rude.
>> It was >> mission accomplished.
>> Okay.
Uh, >> well, I mean, your kids didn't want to leave, so I don't understand why it had to happen in the first place.
>> No, they they've been very upset.
>> As they should be.
As they should be.
>> Ben's already asking, "When are we going back?"
Agreed.
Agreed. Same question.
Um, I was half right. Cool. So picked the wrong twin outdoors be a joint effort.
>> Hello, welcome to book club. We are discussing the end of a book that we just finished and then we'll be starting our next book which where the heck is that? I wanted to see who the author was because for whatever reason I can't remember.
Um, I know that our color of the month for May will be yellow and Melanie selected >> Marggo Shephard.
>> Margo Shepherd. Okay. All right.
Uh, we will be reading I think it's called The Yellowtail Moth.
Yeah, The Yellowt Tail Moth by Margot Shepard as does just stated, but Melanie is not here. So, Stinker, she better be reading with us for for the month anyway.
Oh, you like my grays? Well, thank you.
She's >> It's not quite gray. It's not gray enough for me to like do much with it yet.
>> A lot more salt than it is pepper.
>> It is now. Yeah, there is a lot more.
>> I love it so much.
>> Looking pretty on that side. That's not like even. I want it to like grow in like even because there's like a really bright area right here that like is not.
>> Maybe I'll just go >> It looks good. No, >> sometimes it looks good, sometimes it doesn't. Whatever.
>> I love it so much.
>> We got, you know, we got good and bad days with our hair. Um, Tiffany is here, too. Welcome, babe. Nice to see you. Did you get to read with us for uh April?
Did you read the book?
This is what I want to tell you. Last week, two killers.
When Nick bait it, I was thrown off because I thought it was him the whole time.
Salt is a good look. All right. Well, >> presents.
>> I'm not changing it up anytime soon. So, Nick did the first killing. Yeah. So, there we go. Anybody who picked Nick had Nick on your radar, you were not incorrect. Nick was our first culprit, our first suspect, our first murderer.
And then The Twins. Ah, it was a good book. It was really interesting uh to take a little break, do a little cozy mystery. I'm not sure exactly what we're getting into for next month, but I'm sure it'll just be another mystery.
>> The audio book says it's village, friendship, and genre fiction.
>> What even is that?
>> What does that mean?
>> What it says?
>> Okay. Village friendship genre fiction.
Okay, so it's a fiction. Obviously, we knew that, but it's about friendships.
Okay.
>> Do you want me to read the the blurp?
>> Hold on. Let me yawn out. I got >> I know that we've said it before, but Tosh and I the second we have to read out loud like generally it's kids books though.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I don't know what it is.
>> Immediately yawning the whole time.
>> Reading makes us yawn. I know. Like we could I I could have just woken up in the morning and I'm going to yawn through the whole book.
>> Yeah. I could have like peak energy. I could literally be like running around at like Disneyland having a blast. Full energy coffee in me legit. If you make me read out loud, that's it. I'm going to yawn thinking about it. Look, she's yawning thinking about it. I am.
It's so silly.
>> Oh my god.
Let me let me read it since I'm in between Yanni's. It says, "A riveting literary mystery about two women, their hidden secrets, their friendship, and the power of nature to heal. Accusations leveled against her husband force Lily to flee her pristine London home. She hides away in a run-down cottage near a small rural town. She is deeply unhappy.
She hates the countryside. The dirt, the smells, and the creepy woodland next to the cottage. Desperately lonely, Lily tries to befriend her neighbor Kathy, a naturalist and recluse who the locals think is unhinged. Resistant at first, Kathy gradually mellows as Lily starts to share her interest in nature. A surprising connection develops between the two women. Then a young teenager from the town goes missing and all fingers point at Kathy. Tensions escalate rapidly. Lily defends Kathy against the locals, but when disturbing accusations are made about Kathy's past, Lily is determined to uncover the truth.
>> Oh, wow. This is a new book. It'll >> Yeah, I did know that. I was like, it may not be super easy to find and I didn't know if it was available in audio book yet. So, I'm glad you saw the >> It is. I just got it. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> I just It wasn't on there, though.
>> Yeah, it was on It is available on Kindle. So, for those of you who will be reading in May, get going.
Um, okay, real quick. I didn't do anything, but we did do, like I said, uh, the independent bookstore. Yesterday was like indie bookstore day. So, we went out, did a little book crawl at the four participating um indie bookshops that were um >> Who did?
>> CJ and the kids and I, the four of us went out and you know, spent too much money on books, but could you really do that?
>> Whatever.
>> So, anyway, um so we did. We went out and did all that. Things are falling. Whoops.
um and went to the first one and there was a gal there signing her, you know, signing books, talking about her book, blah blah blah. And she's I'm going to tell you what the book is about first.
Um, and you guys are going to be like, "What the fuck?"
But I grabbed it because I want to see you. Well, you'll see. So basically she describes the book very quickly in like one sentence and she goes basically a girl has to move to Ireland for 6 months to help run I think a bookshop.
So she moves to Ireland for 6 months to run a bookshop.
um, of course gets to know the town's folk and in the meantime falls in love with the son of the shop owner. And I was like, h, this sounds like every book we've ever read set in Ireland, specifically the bookshop around the corner.
And I was like, we literally just read this. So, I I bought the book uh just to see if it's any different, which I'm, you know, could it be any different with that kind of uh blurb? That was like her one sentence like, "Here, buy my book."
And I was like, "Fuck it. I'll buy it.
Sign it, bitch."
So, anyway, we shall see. I'll read it.
I'll give it a go. Thought it was super funny, right? Yeah, that one was Scotland. But still, like it just sounds exactly like every other like, oh, I have to move to a, you know, little countryside town and run a shop for however, you know, whatever time frame. Just insert time frame, one year, 6 months, or someone died and I got to take it over and sell it, you know, just like the same kind of setup for so many books.
But yeah, I was like, well, we'll see.
I'll give that one a quick read. It looks like short books. So, and I'll let you guys know if it was any good.
>> So, anyway. All right.
Okay. Jessica said that Nick was on her radar. All right.
All right. Three kids.
You got three kids. I have three. All girls.
That's a lot of girls. Um >> I have two girls.
One is too many. One is uh more than enough. One is enough for anybody. Girls are not for everyone. That's They're tough. They're tough. I'm dealing with a lot of attitude lately.
So, >> but there's reward at the end of the rainbow.
>> It's the the end of that rainbow is really really [ __ ] far away at this point.
>> Yes. But look look, we're great, right?
Yeah. I mean, you know.
>> Yeah. We're fantastic.
>> No, I met me with mine, my older one.
>> Oh, yeah. Well, I'm just dealing with mine who's coming into, you know, her pre-teen years, and she's a handful.
That attitude.
>> Absolutely.
>> All right, guys. So, we finished the book. We all figured out who done it.
[ __ ] Laya and uh Why did her name go out of my head right then?
>> L.
Thanks.
>> You know, as I was hearing her name, I just kept thinking of the letter L, not E L L E.
>> Like it was a nickname and [ __ ] And you're like, was it a nickname for her?
>> Yeah. I was just like L and whatever the other girl's name months. They're L and L.
>> I don't know.
>> That's funny.
That's a funny way to think about it.
Lla and L. Okay. I'm a twin and she has all girls. Oh my god. Y'all just keep making all the girls. Wow. And they're regularly with you. Power to you. Good luck.
>> Listen, I brought the girls to my husband's family. There are no girls.
The youngest girl is like 38.
There's no >> forgot about that. Yeah.
>> Mhm.
Anyway, okay. Yla and L. I [ __ ] clocked their asses as soon as they were as soon as they showed up and they were acting all [ __ ] weird about dude being there and they're like, "We're just going to go like do our own thing and like not participate and [ __ ] because nah, I know what you're up to."
Anyway, and then I definitely thought it was Nick, but then I was like, "No, it's the girls." And then we found out that it was like all of them. But anyways, um, a lot of red herrings in this one.
A lot of them. They tried to tried to throw us off quite a bit, but we didn't fall for it, did we?
>> We probably did for like a minute, >> maybe.
But there wasn't anyone that I ever that I felt strongly about aside from them like as an actual possibility.
Like a lot of motive.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, I was a little surprised to find out that Britt was like not just a douche. Uh that she was actually there like, you know, trying to work and trying to make money back for her family. And all right, but you don't have to be such a [ __ ] about it, you know?
Whatever. Um, does this make you guys want to read like a rockstar romance at all?
>> I am reading one.
>> Are you? What are you reading?
>> Yeah, I've been reading The Frequency of Him since January.
>> And the second one just came out.
>> I want to read that one.
>> There was another one that I read last year. It was really good. I liked it.
So, yes. Yes.
>> All right. Rockstar romance. I don't know. It just made me think of that because I was like I feel like it could go there, right? Is there a book too in this series? Because anytime we have like an amateur sleuth running a B&B who acts like she can [ __ ] do a better job than the local police officer who is clearly doing a good job at, you know, at what he does. Uh, and she's like, I don't care. I'm a murderer, so I got to figure this out myself. But, uh, I was like, this has to be like the first in like a series. Sounds like it would be the first in like one of those cozy series, mystery series.
>> No, >> just froze.
>> Oh, >> I was trying to Google it. So, my whole screen I can't see anybody.
>> What a pain in the neck. Gotta love that.
Um, >> let's see.
Maybe somebody else will look and check for us.
Oh, look who's here.
Well, welcome. Welcome.
>> Hello. Oh, wait. Can't hear. Hello. Hi.
>> Hi.
>> Hello.
>> What are you wearing?
>> Pink.
>> Duh.
>> She was like, >> "We'll only forgive you for being late if you're wearing pink. But that's adorable.
>> Last time I did not wear pink and I was like, how am I not wearing pink?
>> Right.
>> Um, >> forgive me. It is my anniversary, so it's it's and it's been massively chaotic. I'm sorry to jump in amid whatever you guys were saying.
>> But hi.
>> You said it's your anniversary today.
>> It is.
>> Happy anniversary. I knew it was the end of the month, but I was like, [ __ ] which day? I know.
>> Yeah. It was just so chaotic where I was like, you know, I'm not going to cancel even though I am late. But whatever, I'm here now.
>> You have to come join us. You know, >> you know it. Where are we? Are we discussing book or are we just saying we are discussing the book? Where are we?
>> I'll I'll I'll share afterwards then.
>> There's only one book so far, but it looks like it's going to probably be a trilogy because if you look at all of her other books on Amazon, they're all like books. Yeah, >> but this one, how how long in between are the other books? Did we >> Was that looked at?
>> Oh, that's good to know. Yeah, we were just wondering if this one was going to end up being a series because it really seems like it sound it's like the start of the series. It has, >> you know, like Yeah. What I was reading like cuz other obviously antics can go on.
>> Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, they're good enough characters. We set up like a little romance with the police officer, >> you know? We've got like everybody kind of needing to to get back on track after being, >> you know, swindled out of all of their savings by uh dead ass. So, >> I think I'm tired.
>> It's so funny. Why?
>> I think I'm tired. Because, you know, like Amazon, if you scroll a little further, it will give you other people.
I thought it was giving me all of her book series.
Oh, it was just other authors.
>> Yeah, she only has two books. That is so silly.
>> Oh.
>> Oh, >> my eyes are blurry.
>> Right. It definitely feels like the first in a series, so she could continue it. When did this one come out? This was a new one, right?
>> Um, >> she has a little time.
Um, when it's not showing me when it came out.
>> Well, I thought it >> 24.
>> Oh, so it's not that new.
>> March.
>> Not that new and not that old.
>> Yeah. Well, maybe she just decided it wasn't a big enough hit. I'm not gonna continue with these characters. But >> well, she only has two books on there, so maybe that's why.
>> Oh.
>> So, what were you guys saying? What were you guys What was the >> Well, we were just kind of chatting about >> I don't remember.
>> Can't remember what >> what you're chatting about.
So Tasha asked if it was a series I went to look on the outside.
>> Yeah. Oh, and you're drinking something pink. What are you drinking?
>> Um, Moonshine watermelon margarita.
>> [ __ ] it up. Yeah.
>> We brought some moonshine home from Tennessee.
>> Is Tennessee extra pink for you?
>> Not where I went cuz I went to Oh, I like that cup.
Um, we went to the Smoky Mountain area, not the Nashville area.
>> Oh, okay. So, retrie Gallen Genberg.
>> Did you like it?
>> Beautiful.
>> Yes, it was beautiful. And then there's Pigeon Forge, which was >> Yes.
>> chaotic.
>> We've looked at Pigeon Forge.
>> Chaotic. Wow. when when we've looked for retreat, >> we were looking at both of those areas for retreat, but I think we all, you know, want minor flashback to Nola. So, >> it was chaotic like like it was just like there was like I I want to say 71 golf mini golf courses.
>> Oh, that's [ __ ] that's annoying actually.
>> Wow.
>> It's very like like family like >> Okay, so it is family oriented. Yes.
Like like it'd be better to go there with your kids than Vegas.
>> It's like like that chaotic. Like whoa, there's so much going on. These big weird buildings and >> Vegas is [ __ ] pointless with kids. So that sounds good. Okay. So if we ever do a novel [ __ ] retreat, family retreat.
>> That would be a good place.
>> That would be interesting if we ever did something like that because we could literally do like a whole like we could do like a kids book >> for discussion.
That would be cute.
>> You know, something like well like the lion, the witch in the wardrobe, you know, >> that would be cute. Chaotic and wild and cute.
>> Be so interesting. She said it's the Myrtle Beach of the mountains.
>> Oh my goodness. The first I ever heard about Myrtle Beach was uh watching what was that MTV show? Was it like 16 and Pregnant or something? Oh, back in the day. One of the gals was from that area. And >> where's Myrtle Beach at? That's >> It's not too far from um >> that you that your neighborhood.
>> Her neighborhood.
>> Carolina. My teen.
>> Oh, okay.
>> I'm not obviously don't know where anything is.
>> I didn't know. I just repeated what she said.
>> Oh, you mean you don't remember geography from elementary?
>> No. Like I never even remembered it when I was supposed to.
>> Oh my gosh. Okay, so we figured out who did it. Does anybody have like a favorite character in this?
I mean, we have our main character. I liked her.
>> Yeah, >> Auntie M.
>> Auntie M was kind of funny. I liked her.
>> She was I was liking her, but then she like Okay, I'm not okay.
I I was going to read this weekend and this weekend got really chaotic. So, I was like massively speed listening like no other.
>> So, like you know what happened, but like no, >> she disappeared for like did we ever find out where why she was gone for so long? Like where like why was she >> broke?
>> So, she's showering at other people's houses. Oh, >> she had like Yeah, she had lost her money as well. She was also swindled along with basically everyone in that [ __ ] town um by the uncle. Was this [ __ ] Bob?
>> Bob.
>> That was I was She would have been like I was saying would have been my favorite, but like we got a good amount of her then and then she then we didn't.
>> Yeah, she Yeah, at least we know she's showering now, right? There's that.
Yeah. Um, she would be like kind of a fun character to continue finding more out about because she apparently has traveled pretty much [ __ ] everywhere.
So, she would be a fun one to >> um >> have a spin >> follow. Yeah. To follow in like another book. But I feel like if she were to write like a second, she would probably write it about cat >> and it would probably be like some kind of little love story or you know some kind of meat cute and we'd get a little bit more about um James the police officer.
>> Yeah.
>> And um her relationship. So we'll get a little bit more about that. But I don't know. I want to hear more about what happens at this B&B. Super [ __ ] cute though. All pink.
>> Well, that was just opening weekend. So, >> And that was just opening weekend.
Exactly. A lot went down on a weekend.
>> See? Yeah. The the second book could be on their like uh their their first year anniversary. Like, let's let's let's make it go good. And like it all goes to the [ __ ] again, >> right? A one-year anniversary and then another murder. And it's like, what the hell? Because you got flashbacks.
>> Like, how does this happen? Yeah.
>> How's this happening again? Yeah.
>> Take note.
>> Take notes.
>> Oh my goodness.
Yeah. Miss Lee, take note.
So many people got took >> They really did. They really did. This guy really just He really [ __ ] everybody up. I don't remember.
I guess I could go back. Do we remember who who everybody's >> I don't know who everybody said. We all just tried to say somebody different.
>> Yeah.
>> Just to say somebody different.
>> Yeah.
>> And then I for whatever reason my focus was like really shitty and I just kept like confusing all the male characters >> between like blurred and Travis and Nick or no Nate and Nicknico.
I was like, who the [ __ ] are we [ __ ] talking about now? Who are we [ __ ] talking about? I was like very And then you bring and then you got George and you got Lars and you got >> I mean they all kind of blended together in a way.
>> Thank you. I was like they did blend together.
Nothing really stood out. Jessica says, "I called out Nikki." And she did because he killed he killed Bob Travis, right?
And I kept confusing like who like the like the Brit's brother I think was Travis.
And I kept confusing him and uh James for absolutely no reason at all.
That was just so random. Like just Travis for whatever reason. Like the name Travis and James. Like I just I kept swapping those. And then anyway, so yeah, her brother. And then um I kept confusing Nate, who's our main character's brother, with right >> Nico/Nick.
I was like, "What the [ __ ] Stop calling him two different names."
>> The bartender brother. Yeah. Okay. But anyways, anybody have a pineapple and jalapeno pizza before?
>> No.
>> Does that [ __ ] sound? No, >> that [ __ ] sounds dumb. So, I get jalapenos on our pizza all the time and I love it, but I never tried it with pineapple down. I'm going to try it.
>> I'll have the pineapple jalapeno pizza.
Hold the jalapeno.
>> So, would you try it if then we just like we got it and they cooked it and we pick off the jalapenos for you and then you could have like the essence.
>> It would be spicy.
>> It would still be spicy.
I I really thought you were gonna go into like your into your voice that you do.
>> Which one?
>> Oh my god. The one from the movie. And I never remember the name of the movie.
It's Anna Ferris, right?
>> Oh, Benny. House Bunny.
>> Yeah.
>> House Bunny.
>> House Bunny. That was >> Oh my god. She just like gets weird and has to talk like deeper for absolutely no reason.
>> It helps her remember like remember I I've never watched the movie, but I know that scene and I know like why she does it. She helps me remember people's names or whatever.
>> Yes. Yeah.
>> I'm going to try that from now on.
Dominique, when you're going around with Houston, I need you to start doing that and I need you to report back on people like what their reaction.
>> I'll do that.
>> Yeah. Dominic's gonna be like, "Oh, nice to meet you." And your name is what?
Jessica. Oh, Ja.
She's gonna do Oh, what's what's your name? Ashley. Ashley.
Do it. Gonna [ __ ] do it. Houston be over there like what the [ __ ] are you on?
Who the [ __ ] told you to do that?
Desiree. Got it. Got it. That makes sense now.
>> Yeah, I'll do it. I'll do it.
>> This is driving me nuts. There. Oh, no.
But now I have like no light in here.
Whatever. [ __ ] it.
Anyway, oh no, it does sound delicious. I want a pineapple and jalapeno pizza. It sounds good.
>> I don't like the pineapple.
>> I actually like strawberries and pineapple earlier and now I want some. I shall return.
>> I shall return.
>> Well, now I need [ __ ] pineapple. Grab some jalapenos and some cheese.
>> I realize like I'm I'm a really picky eater. I get that.
I don't like jalapenos.
>> I want to go to an all pink B&B.
>> I do too. Let's go.
>> Let's go.
>> The one in the background was >> Is that a real one?
>> It is a real one.
>> I don't know if it's a B&B.
>> I can't remember.
Um, but I think it's on the east coast.
>> You know, the thing is they do so much Googling that I could never go back in my history. Like it would >> up because like I do so much of it.
>> It would be like seriously you want me to try to find that?
>> You got to get back into um bookmarking.
Remember when that was a thing?
>> Who bookmarks still nowadays?
>> Um >> I It's called pin. You pin it a tab >> on my computer.
>> Okay.
>> Call us. Oh, damn. She said you pin it.
>> Well, no. That's what it's called on mine. So, I don't click something. I know it is a bookmark, but there's also a pin like >> it's called this.
>> Well, no. I That's on my computer. I don't know if what it's on anybody else's.
>> Okay.
In Well, I haven't been I I mean to do these things and I don't do these things obviously.
>> Okay. So, I had my pick when I was trying to find photos for this for the calendar of plenty of B&Bs.
Um there are a lot of pink ones. There is one in Big Bear.
No, >> in the kitchen.
>> In the kitchen.
>> There's a pink mansion in Kalisoga.
This is called the pink mansion and it's B&B.
So, we could go there. It's called the Pink Mansion bed and breakfast. There you go. There's a tickle pink in in Big Su.
Wow. People really like to have a pink B&B in California. There's a pink dreams cottage somewhere.
Tickled pink in tickle pink. Yeah. Okay.
Well, I didn't say in California. You can search outside of California. Jeez.
Anyway, lots of cute ones. We've got plenty to choose from. There's a blushing rosein.com if you want to check out blushing rosein.
So many. They're so cute.
Well, it would be the retreat of Dominique's dreams. What?
Anyway, we got any anything else to chat about here?
>> What was the biggest red herring in the second half and did it successfully mislead you?
>> Dude was No.
Oh, I would say when Lars was going for a swim and Nico Nick was found dead and oh, you conveniently washed all the blood off of you. That was our red there. And we were like, did he wash it all off of him?
>> Cuz I really don't think he did this.
Really don't think he did it.
Okay. I did some out of character TD wife [ __ ] today.
Wow.
What was that like? What was that like?
You made bread and jelly from scratch.
Do you have like like your own starter or did you just like use like a like a ready starter?
What kind of jelly did you make?
I like making jelly. That shit's easy as [ __ ] I thought Travis might be involved for a bit because he was such a grunt, right? And his sister was a [ __ ] [ __ ] So, I thought I thought for a minute that maybe that there was going to be something there, but it ended up not being so much. Had a good day, but I need to wind down. I was going to pop this up cuz I was like, I know she means wind down, but um >> I think I think she meant it.
>> I think she means wind down.
>> Yeah, I think she means wind down. Love seeing and hearing from you guys.
I love that. That's perfect because the cork screw was the culprit. Yes.
>> How can I cherry hard as she was trying to push the everything points to Lars? It would have been completely wild if he actually were guilty, right? I was like, "No, no, no.
You're trying way too hard to make him look guilty that I'm not falling for that shit." So, if it were him at the end, I would have been like, "But how?
That makes no sense.
Wait, wait. Why did you make the jelly?
Why did Why did teen do all that?
>> Oh, yeah. So, uh I just made a peasant bread for ingredients. Strawberry jelly.
>> Oh, you went strawberry picking. Okay.
So, when you go pick strawberries naturally, you have to make your own bread >> cuz you got so many.
>> You do? Yeah.
>> I make fig jam out of my figs.
>> Is it good?
>> Yeah.
>> You should make them and bring it over to >> fake jam. And I was like, why is it fake?
I use raw honey >> in it, >> but I don't I don't I don't get the honey. I don't um harvest the honey myself.
>> Okay. I love I not a big honey person, but if I'm going to do honey, it's going to be the wild honey because what's the point otherwise?
Yeah.
>> I'm thinking Lars dies in the next book.
Right.
>> Are we just going to make the next book?
We're just going to make it.
>> Oh my gosh. Right. He could actually be like the death at like the one year anniversary when George were supposed to come back and like, >> you know, >> correct it, but like >> correct it, but he ends up >> and they find him in the same spot where Bob was.
>> Oh my gosh.
And then we find out it was Britt. Yeah.
>> The snit. Is that what they >> There we go.
>> I love fig jam.
>> See, you could like do a little jar for us and bring it on retreat and we could have it with our little uh welcome shuderie or something cuz it's kind of pinkish. So, we can make like an all cutesy.
>> I have two fig trees. I got the I got the two different figs.
>> You ever put your fig jam on a grilled banan apple? I have put the fig jam on baked brie and then get like just dig it in with some like good crackers and stuff like that.
Goo it in my mouth. Goo it in my mouth.
Anyways in my mouth. Wow.
>> Oh, look this. I made this uh shakurerie.
Oh, I recognize those Trader Joe macaroons.
>> The little pink ones, the little heart.
Yeah, I did one for our Valentine's meet up for um the homeschool group.
>> Do they bring anything as fancy or are you like are they like their whimsy friend?
>> Their what friend?
>> Whimsy.
>> Whimsy.
>> I'm their whimsy friend. They're like, if Sasha is bringing something, it's going to be very whimsical. and they're like, "She's always got like a craft or like a really pretty themed shuderie or whatever." But everybody knows it. So apparently I'm the whimsy friend.
That's fun. But it also gets like I was that way and now I'm not.
But like it it got it like what's that word? Um >> there you go. It's like the whole thing.
Like I had to keep keep it up and I I don't know.
>> Do it already. What the [ __ ] Then you got to keep it up. Yeah. It's like a lot of work.
>> Like when like the day you don't want to do anything and like there's disappointment. It's like oh my gosh, I'm disappointing people.
>> I can't just bring like a couple of crackers and some grapes anymore.
>> Yeah.
>> No, not cuz they're like >> she Exactly.
We got a book. We got a book.
>> Go. We made a sequel. We should always make a sequel. That should be our thing.
Instead of like doing the um how we used to do >> a >> the casting. We should just like make a sequel.
>> That's a great idea.
>> Here's another one. I don't remember what I did it for, but >> I see the pink was another Valentine's one.
>> Yeah, I see the pink uh Pocky sticks.
>> Yeah, I was doing probably one regular and one vegan.
>> Okay.
>> We had two girls that >> What's it What's with the the pomegran is that what's the pomegranates and the seeds there? Is that like a >> uh pomegranate seed in some yogurt for some of the like cookies and fruit if you wanted to dip them? M >> that is cute.
>> Are you burned out from your whimsy?
>> I I did get burned out from it.
>> Mhm.
>> Cuz I did like birthday parties. I did like really outrageous birthday parties.
And then I feel like like I was like, "Oh, I can't wait to see what you do this year.
How you top it." And I'm like, "Why do I got to top it?"
>> Oh, right.
>> Top that.
>> Remember that one.
Where is it? Kennage.
>> Oh, I know where that's at.
That's in North.
>> Yeah.
>> North. Did we go North Carolina? North Carolina.
>> A remember.
>> Cute. Hold on. I have the other one, too.
>> But it's a video >> bar retreat. Look how pretty >> that that is. You guys set it up so pretty when I went to go get everybody.
We got back and it was just gorgeous.
>> That was stressful. Honestly, though, like >> to make it look right in there.
>> Look at all my [ __ ] I love them.
>> Look at the >> Oh, the penises.
>> Why' you have to whisper that? Like >> um when we we went out yesterday, like I said, we uh swung by this um Uh when we were done with all the bookstores, we hopped into a um like little bar kind of bar and grill, but it's called Coin Op.
>> I really like Hold on. Can you pause?
What's going on with your I like them.
They're white. Are their nails white cuz they're >> They are >> They're fun. I just kept getting distracted. I'm sorry. What's on them?
when the sun was coming through, they kept glowing and I was like, I need to close it because that's kind of distracting me.
>> I like them. Anyway, sorry. So, your your book adventure.
>> Anyway, so yeah, we stopped at this place called Coin Op and it's like this old they have a whole bunch of like arcade machines inside this like pub, whatever. And um the [ __ ] where was I going with this?
your your book endeavors.
Uh, I'm so sorry.
>> Damn it. I absolutely forgot why the [ __ ] I brought that up.
>> It's my fault.
>> 100% not sure to do with anything now.
I should have shut my mouth about your nails and just I'm sorry.
>> Oh my goodness. I cannot remember where I was going with that.
>> How was your book adventures?
>> Oh, it was fun. We had a good time. Got a >> I saw your photos and >> it was fun. We had a good time. Got a bunch of books. The kids got more books than I did. So, >> I saw that.
>> Yeah. And Leo wanted the whole Harry Potter series, so we finally got it.
>> Oh, it's a really pretty set. But, uh, CJ was like, I think I'm ready to read it.
So, the four of us will be reading that series together.
>> Oh, that's cool. That's fun. That's good.
>> It'll be super fun to experience, you know, >> all of that with the kids for the first time.
>> I hope I hope one of them cries >> when Cedric Digory dies. I'm just saying.
Hope so.
A little [ __ ] up. Whatever.
Damn, I [ __ ] up for getting my point.
That's so lame.
I think maybe you're just sharing.
>> Dick cheese. Thank you, dick cheese.
That's it. Richard cheese saved the day.
Uh, you segueed. Okay, so it was specifically the dick cheese. So CJ are sitting at the bar and the kids are playing the [ __ ] games and [ __ ] and a whole bridal party comes in, right?
>> Oh, >> they love to go to Tmacula. Tmacula is a great place. There's a lot of wineries, you know, B&Bs and [ __ ] like that. You can have a great time. And Oldtown Tmacula, which is where we were, super cute. But all these gals walk in, like one bride, and then they're all matching and they're pink for the bridal party.
And there's got to be like 10 of them or more. 12 maybe. They walk in and I was like, "Oh [ __ ] bridal party here. Have fun." Uh, and CJ was like, "There are no penises anywhere." And I was like, "What are you talking about?" Whoa. Cuz it's a bridal party, like a you know, bachelorette party obviously. And he was like, "Yeah." And I was like, "Oh, we had way more of those street." And he's like, "You absolutely did have more girls on your retreat than they do at their [ __ ] bachelorette party." I was dying. That was it. Thank you for reminding me with the dick cheese.
>> Good job, T.
>> You're the best. Well done, Teen. She knew where I was going. She knew it was about the penis shuderie.
>> Speaking of Teen, did we did she share her because last time she was talking about how >> T you were talking about how >> you read the whole thing. knew it, but there was like a little complication in there. There was something she did kind of mildly share.
>> Oh, okay. You don't need to I'll I'll go and listen or re rewatch the beginning.
>> That was what she had said. That's what I didn't want to tell you last week. Two killers.
>> See, see, they sneak up on you like that. But that's good though because it that's what gets you like guessing or like keeps the keeps it from being too So wait, did you realize it was two killers though? Did you know straight off the bat? You're like, "Oh, I bet you there's two killers here." I did for a moment think that. But then I didn't. But then I a moment early, but then I didn't.
Dude, Nick S/Nico, first of all, him bashing dude's head in and then trying to choke out his ex, >> right?
>> But it was his sister like or her sister like what the [ __ ] >> Dang.
That comes up and is like with the corkcrew. Love that. That thing I was like, wait a second. They were already talking about how there was no corkcrew in the thing. So where did she get one from?
Mhm.
>> You're paying attention.
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
>> See these things, you gota you got to pay attention to those little details.
>> That's all it's all about. Why are you laughing? Why is she laughing?
>> I don't know. Uh oh.
What? [ __ ] Oh my god. I can't wait.
Can't wait. Okay. Had no idea. Knew it was Nick and then I second guessed when he died, but eventually figured it out.
So, I feel like that I think I don't know anymore.
>> Oh my god, my arm hurt. Oh, >> sure. You can't laugh and and keep it to yourself, >> right? Had forgotten the part in the beginning where she had a corkcrew back.
See, remember, I was like, she did have something sharp, but then she's claiming that she didn't have her bag. And gh, no, cuz she hid it in the bush.
>> Hit it in the bush.
>> That's where you hide things.
That's why you got to have them around.
>> No, I don't.
No, cuz your animal habitat here is like [ __ ] three rooms long.
This looks beautiful, but there's no way I can eat this while we're on here.
While we're on here. Look at that.
>> Messy. I got stuffed peppers with Satan instead of dead animal.
>> That is fancy looking from like the glow. It looked like a burger. Like a like a like those were buns.
>> I know, right? Bell peppers.
I'm going set it down though.
>> That looks like way too healthy for me though. Like it looks good, but like >> it probably is cuz it looks like it has hemp parts.
>> Avocado.
Ooh, cauliflower.
Tomatoes.
>> Oh, wow.
>> It's like a whole garden in there.
>> Can't you can't [ __ ] around.
Definitely some money. Looks good.
Thanks, babe.
>> He's laughing again.
>> And probably spinach is >> tomato. Yep. Nobody likes spinach.
>> Yep.
>> I That's >> [ __ ] If she giggles one more time without sharing.
>> I'm trying to get it just right before I show you.
>> Swear I keep all my sharp objects in your bush.
>> In the bush.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Um, should I take my headphones out? Do you think it won't break up if I do that?
>> I have no idea.
>> Hear this. We don't have to talk over this. I created this. I want you guys to hear it.
Why does my feel?
>> Oh, all I hear is >> Okay, you got to be quiet so they can hear.
>> Um, I created this song. It's called [ __ ] in Pink.
>> This is AI.
>> Yeah, it's an app.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
It's cutting out. We don't hear anything.
>> Oh, because you got to take off the um you got to take off the uh >> echo cancellation.
>> Uh reduce mic background and echo.
>> No, because that's what it's that's why it's cutting out because it's >> No, they're on. So, I do do I turn those off?
>> Maybe. Yeah.
>> Okay. Just tell me if I echo.
Are you ready?
>> You got to turn up.
>> And there is that.
charact.
>> So this is just our Yes.
>> Bad at it.
I love that smell of that [ __ ] is the hook of the song. Like that's [ __ ] hilarious.
after I created I saw that's where I keep all my sharp objects and I was pissed cuz I was like that'd be really good at >> Oh you turn it back on.
>> Yeah, that's what I meant.
I was just gonna say this sounds like a rage cleaning mix. We need to have a song made for like every one of our bug clubs. Like every one of our meetings.
That would be hilarious. Songwriter on my resume now. Look at you smell of that [ __ ] I see people do that with with their like kids uh texts and stuff like turning my or turn my mom's tech like mom's passive aggressive text into like emo songs or like turning my child's text into whatever songs.
>> Yeah.
>> That is super [ __ ] funny.
>> And you can like change the type that it is.
So you can you make us a intro song. A better intro song.
>> I don't know. You're putting in lyrics.
So that's what So like you're putting in lyrics here and then you choose the style. You can write out if they don't have it here and then there's like different options and then you create it.
>> Okay.
>> Hey, you could do one for like our [ __ ] bingo and [ __ ] That funny >> I can put it into pal a ballad soul.
>> Yeah to share that with everybody.
>> Grunge. Do you guys want a different version of this?
>> That was really good.
>> But I'm going to add her uh sharp.
That's where I keep >> that was really funny.
>> Sharp objects.
I like that. Well done.
>> Yeah, the mom texts ones are really funny and texts from the Oh, I saw one that was like text from your kids where like they just act like they can't [ __ ] do anything or find anything and it is hilarious.
Dez might have even sent that to me actually.
>> Oh, you can choose female. You can choose how weird it's going to be.
>> Oh, I like choosing the weirdness factor. We're gonna go to more weird for Domo.
>> More weird.
>> I sent it so it's saved and I'll send I'll forward it to >> I like the version you chose. Yeah, that was perfect. That's like >> Let me I'm gonna pause this so I can hear.
>> That was a good one.
>> That was definitely like Novel [ __ ] coded. Mhm.
>> That'd be hilarious to go back to like our other lives where like when we're doing mad lips.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Oh my god. Go back the whole Mad Lib.
>> Well, no. Wait. What? We just Let's do it again. We haven't done Mad Libs in a while. We got to do that again.
>> We should.
>> Okay. This is I changed it to an indie pop.
Oh, wait. Hold on.
I have to turn that thing back off again. Hold on.
>> Okay. But of shery.
>> Yeah.
>> Play another song.
Happyiversary out of white shuchus That's where I keep all my >> I was like, is it glitching? What's happening?
>> Oh, wow.
>> Okay.
>> They really did not know.
No, that [ __ ] is smudgy.
Um, Emanuel had sent it to me the other day. Um, and he was like, I was going to save this for Mother's Day. Um, and then decided to send it to me.
Where is it? I don't know. He He had just taken my text.
>> Just random.
>> No, you need >> It's still echoing.
>> Hold on.
Random quotes from over the years would be fun. Yes.
>> Yes.
Oh my gosh.
You could do like a Halloweeny one.
>> Oh, >> gothic one from back when we were reading Haunting of the Hill House.
That was good.
>> That was good. Those are cute. How funny.
>> I thought you guys might like get a kick out of it.
>> Yeah, it was fun.
Anyway, well, I don't think we have anything more to talk about with this book unless you got another question, ma'am.
>> I did have other questions, but it was like me.
>> Say we just rate this book.
>> Oh, yeah. Do that. Oh, >> okay.
>> Give us our uh How many flamingos?
H. Where's everybody at with this one?
I'm curious.
I would absolutely go to this B&B. It sounds cute as [ __ ] They have all kinds of there.
>> But there's a chance of death.
>> No, I'm not an [ __ ] I'm not trying to kill anybody. Someone's gonna die.
>> Yeah. Not worried about it. I just want to be around when it happens.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm cool with being questioned, >> potentially being a suspect or a witness, you know?
>> Sounds like a fun weekend.
>> What is that?
>> Uh hand their handbags or like coin bag.
>> Yeah, that's perfect.
>> I know that.
>> Three coin purses.
Oh, Jessica really like this book. Okay, >> four and a half.
Like that.
>> I'm going to go with three.
>> You're going with three.
>> I'll go with three.
>> Fine.
>> I read it all today and I had trouble getting into it, you know, before and so I hammered through today. Dominique, I wanted to ask, you said you were speed reading through it.
What does that mean that your setting was at?
>> It was at 1.4 and then >> what?
>> That's your speed.
>> No. And then it was and then I bumped it to let me look. I'm embarrassed. I couldn't hear every word.
2.5.
Oh, okay. I was listening at two, but I was like, I could probably go faster.
So, yeah, there like I could go faster, but there was one part of the book where like somebody was talking like really fast and like I wasn't getting some of the words, but I was getting the gist of it cuz I was we're driving home. I was 20 minutes from home and I had like 40 minutes left and I'm like, bump it up. I need to know who did it. Yeah.
>> Yeah. And you find out basically in the last like 10 minutes of the book.
>> Yes. I'm like, do I skip this chapter?
>> Oh my god, the hashtags drove me nuts.
Oh, I was like, seriously, we're doing that? We're doing that.
>> Old, >> but think that's what I was thinking. I was trying to think of when she probably started writing the book.
>> Oh, maybe. You know, it's it was still like a thing.
Definitely dated to be ironic. Like >> I definitely dated the book.
>> Cat spoke fast. That's probably who.
Yeah, I think I give it a four. I would recommend it as like a >> See, that's cute, right? Because like if somebody asked for just like a cute little read like I would say this book but based off of how I've rated other books and >> but see that's why we can't my scale like it's so hard.
>> No that's why we have this scale. That's why we have the scale because it's it's we're not saying it's like an amazing book. That's just our rating.
>> Yeah. You know, like obviously there's like other books that are just more in depth or or just have more to it, you know, but it's still >> skeletons of Scarboro House.
It's still that's that's our >> brainy ghost and yoga. I was like, hold up. We've heard yoga before.
>> I get it. Like you if you do like a four with this and you gave a four to a better book, you're like you feel like you're diminishing that better book.
>> Yes. I I really save my fives.
>> I know you do. That's why we came up with this system.
>> What did you What did you rate it at?
I'm writing it. You said three, right?
What did you say?
>> I said three.
>> Three.
>> Three to me is like it's still a decent read, right? There was like, you know, interesting parts. So, you would not recommend it to anybody ever?
>> Well, that's that's what's hard is like I I would for somebody who wants just like a light read and they're like, "Oh, I just want to read a >> five."
>> Huh?
>> I would make it a point five.
>> Make it a point five >> for the the rating.
>> Yes.
>> Or the for the um >> rating >> for Yeah. But give it an extra half because I would recommend >> sometimes recommend it >> cuz that's what Did you look at our >> No, I didn't realize it had been actually redone.
>> Look.
>> Yeah. Oh, I guess >> would recommend. Oh, okay.
>> It's part It's part of it. Okay.
>> So then fine. Three and a half. I'll give you that. Okay, very good.
Very well.
>> What did What did Tash What did you >> I don't know what either of you did.
>> I said four cuz I would recommend it like lightly.
>> I would be like, "Oh my gosh, you got to read this book." But if someone's like, "Hey, blah blah blah." I'm like, "Oh yeah, it's cute. Check it out."
>> No, I still recommend 50 Words. Like when I was in the bookstore recently, >> did somebody >> somebody was on the phone and was like, "I need some recommendations." And she was saying something and I was like, "Oh, this is a really good one."
>> Did you Did you invite her to her book club?
>> No. They were on the phone with her.
>> Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, I see. I'm understanding now. Uh, >> I give it a three and a half as well.
Not sure.
>> It was a good read for this month. I think this is what we were wanting and looking for. It wasn't >> too cheesy.
>> No, >> you know, >> except for the whole >> hashtags. Hashtag [ __ ] But I was like, but maybe maybe it's the age. Maybe the author is a little younger. I don't know.
>> Or older trying to be younger.
>> Mhm.
Maybe that like overdid it on accident.
>> Yeah.
Oh my god.
>> Cuz that's kind of old. I remember when like people were really using hashtags and I was at a party with CJ once at his friend's house and we all were dying about hashtags that we only spoke to each other in hashtags that night.
That had to have been like before that's like pre205. We'll put it that way cuz I didn't have I didn't have Leo Bell yet.
>> That makes me think of like that game that we that the Kings Cup game like that would be a role like got to talk hashtags.
>> Mhm.
>> Enough cheese to go with the wine theme.
Yeah.
I liked the bartender stuff, but I was like, he's married. That kind of kind of takes it down a notch, you know?
>> Oh, there's new things here. Look at we we can do polls. What is this?
>> We can Oh my gosh. You could I wonder if we could do >> new widgets. Is that what that is?
>> Yeah. Oh, a QR code. What is that?
That's fine.
>> You should try it, Dominique. The poll.
>> I'm just I can only do four options.
>> Okay. Well, it's not a one. So, just skip that.
>> What am I doing? Sorry.
>> Not a two.
>> For our book.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Do two, three, four, five.
>> Oh, okay. Two.
>> Or no, nobody did a two. Yeah, >> you can do three. Three and a half.
>> Three and a half. Four.
>> Four and a half. Maybe something like that. There you go.
>> So, how do we >> two three four five? Interesting. I wonder how you how that happens.
>> Do you guys have an option to click something?
>> No. So, that's interesting.
>> What may not be us on this side?
>> Like maybe Well, I'm looking on Facebook. There's nothing you can click on there.
>> So, what's the point of this thing?
>> Yeah, I don't know.
>> Oh, >> did I do that?
>> Rebecca found out. No, she typed two. It says type one, two, three, or three, four inch chat.
>> That's cool.
Oh.
Huh. So, if I put Let's see.
>> Oh, because she hers is three >> here. Let's see.
>> Place in the chat. Okay.
>> Let's see. I put a three in there. Oh, [ __ ] That's fun.
All right. I see you literally just typed the number.
All right. That's cool. All right. I like that.
Um, >> how do I >> We didn't rate. We didn't We didn't We have not casted, but I'm not very interested in casting this one.
>> We need like more interesting characters to cast. We can't even think of people anymore.
>> What with what?
>> Like to cast characters. We haven't done that in a long time. But like >> Oh, no. We have not.
>> This one.
>> I'm all sniffly, too.
>> I know. But then my eyes has started getting watery.
>> From all the yawning I've been doing.
>> Oh, L and L could be.
That's funny.
>> That would be funny.
>> That would be funny.
I'm going to tinkle. We'll be right back. A lot of the guys like they were like, "Are you really tinkling?" Oh, wait.
>> I know. I was already looking.
>> General.
I found it.
>> I feel like it looks different with all these updates.
Um, what was I going to say? Were all the guys like old in this? Like I feel like they were like like she's talking about them like really gross like balding or like their his hair was like >> they could be like late 30s mid >> but they were like they were like not in good condition.
>> What I mean like you know >> like when she said like who was it? Was it Lars with his hood? Like his his she describes his hair as like thinning like then I just I just thought of like those guy like I don't know. I got really >> the ones that peaked in high school.
>> Yeah. But I got like really like like just like I don't know. I don't know. It it bothered me. I don't know why.
>> And Bob Right. The wannabe rock stars though.
I don't know. That's so funny.
See >> what?
>> It's like It's like bedtime.
>> Is it?
>> With all of our yawning. Feel like an old lady.
No, I spent my day cleaning.
Read it.
>> The greasy ponytail that is kept long desperately trying to protect their hair.
Oh.
Oh my god.
Hold on. Rock stars who didn't take care of themselves.
So, I just talk about how these just sounded gross like after she like like the one guy's hair was thinning or like they just all seemed like, >> "Hey, Dominique, what are you going to do when Houston's hair starts thinning?"
>> It might not. His dad still has a lot of hair. It's lightly like receding.
>> Like very lightly, but >> yeah, I was just curious.
>> My dad My dad says, "Oh, it's good hair.
He has good hair. If he's bald, he'd be bald. Balding? No, he has good hair.
>> What? We're like barely 40.
>> I There is people balding in their like 20s and 30s like >> because they peaked in high school.
>> No, there were some people that did not peek and they just got worse and I was just like, "Oh, I feel bad for you."
That's when you shave your head bald and then no one will never know. No one will ever know.
>> They know. They know. Like, oh, I know why you shave. You're bald.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay, though. It's okay. I'd rather you like to embrace the bald than like >> try to hide the bald.
>> Mhm. Although, he said it's not good to have a good bald. Like he has like his head's not like round. Goes to a little I've said it like it goes to a little point. Oh, a little point his uh his plates.
>> I don't know. I just remember >> when the Marines got him and they bicked his head and then I saw him for the first time and I was like, "Oh."
And this is what he went from like long curly hair to nothing. And he didn't tell me. He he let it be a surprise where like he like he opens the door and like uh I was like what am I looking at?
I don't like it. And I just kept seeing this little point.
>> Does anybody when their husbands shave their faces too?
>> I was like it's like a peanut like like like you know cuz the peanuts like >> just like a light point. Not like it's not pointy just like a light little >> No, I know what you're saying. Rebecca, your husband went great early, didn't he? He's like white.
>> Oh, is he?
>> Silver Fox.
>> He's a doctor. So >> that's like even more annoying. Like you got have like all extra white ass hair and you're a [ __ ] doctor and like tan. I'm like, >> "All right, [ __ ] Carile. Knock it off."
I say, "I wouldn't mind if you went like all white." He has a lot of white, but He still has a way to go.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Well, he started getting white hairs when he was like 18. There's like little bits, little white stragglers.
You can't tell, but I have one teeny tiny little gray hair in my eyebrow right here.
>> Do you When did you find that out?
>> Oh, like last year or something.
I don't know if you can see it. It's like right at the front somewhere. Right in here.
>> I have I have I have some >> Oh, when I pull my hair back, they like they look there's more gray. I'm excited for some, you know, some natural highlights.
>> That's not how it looked on me. It didn't look like natural highlights.
That's okay.
>> Not at all.
>> I love your hair. I'm so excited when you finally go full gray. Like, I'm going to be so excited.
>> Yeah, that's going to be a while cuz >> a girl can dream, right?
>> No, they're not allowed to. Rude.
>> You got two right in front. Oh, like eyebrow hairs.
Anyone here? But I don't think I have enough hair brow mascara.
>> I feel like the two of you that have been dying your hair forever should have way more gray.
>> Why?
>> Well, they say earlier.
>> Why haven't dying my hair forever?
>> Dark ass hair. Like, you don't even have any grays. I swear.
>> No, I do.
>> Hold on. I got to blow my nose.
Look at See, what is there like three there? That's adorable.
>> Adorable. They're there a little bit. Little bit. That's cute.
That's cute. Well, it's hard to tell.
I need to just be dying my hair.
>> Tosh is still tinkling.
Oh, what did I say anything? Yeah, >> as I sit here, did it turn off?
>> I just went and put on a diaper and said [ __ ] it.
>> Sometimes.
>> Speaking of diaper, guys, >> we put bear down.
>> Oh my god.
>> Dominic, >> what?
Dominique, I was a little relieved for you. At the same time, sad for you.
>> A Bear was in a diaper for like a year or two.
>> Long time. Yeah.
>> And I don't know if I shared, but we put him down. He was 19 years old.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> It was his old doggy.
>> He was Yeah, he was blind and deaf.
All right. Helen was mute too cuz >> it was not not till the end.
>> How did you have to sign outside to him?
>> Oh golly.
>> [ __ ] How did you call him back to the house?
>> He just he just he had a good sense of smell, so he just knew where to go. Like we would plop him out the front door and make his way through the side and into the doggy door. Um and then he was like did that to Helen Keller.
>> They probably did. That's what strengthened her. Find your way home.
Find your way back in the house.
You could do it.
>> She's over here in his little pond [ __ ] all like drawing her [ __ ] >> No, he was going to People be like got him a case like when you going to put him down? I'm like he's still loving life, spunky, barking at the cats, doing this and that and then like >> Yeah.
>> then one day he just fell down the stairs and And then I watched him for 24 hours and he didn't move and he stopped eating just really quick. Like he was like >> you fell down the stairs and you watched him not move for a couple of hours.
>> Watch him like like I I put him down on a blanket. Shut up. Okay. Okay. We were have Okay. Okay. This Okay. a week prior actually gave him a bath and like I noticed his like his back was like hunched you know like you know how dogs curl up and like he didn't like fully uncurl and I'm like oh your body is a little like stiff buddy >> and then a week after that >> we were having like a going away party for friends and >> he went out the doggy door but he like wobbled and like fell down the stairs I was like oh that's not good and then I made like a nice little like really comfy thing for him to lay on and he didn't get up. And then the next day he he didn't move at all. And then I tried to give him food and he I was like, "Okay, we're I'm going to take him in.
I'm going to take him in."
>> Um >> my brother, >> we had a freaking long good life. He had two bad days last. That's why I wanted to put him down. I I wanted to make sure I put him down before I was miserable.
But >> why did I say speaking? Oh, diaper.
Yeah.
>> Um cuz he wore diapers.
>> I thought you were about to give us an announcement. I was like, >> "Yeah, that was my announcement. We We're not going to hear clicketity clack anymore."
>> Dominique, I thought you was about to give us an announcement. I thought we were about to have Novel Baby 2.0.
>> No. No.
>> No more tapping.
>> Remember that?
>> Oh my god. Tap dancing. Yeah. My dogs do it though, so they ever [ __ ] run up here, you'll hear it.
>> I just cut Buckyy's nails >> yesterday. They look so thick.
>> Yeah. No, >> a kid is slamming on a keyboard.
>> Dominique is tapping her little puppy toes.
>> I I haven't heard the tap taps in a long time, so I'm kind of like >> so nostalgic.
>> Yeah.
Oh my god, that's funny. A >> was a good dog. And then I'm like I got a letter in the mail and I'm like what is this? And the whole place sign a card where I got him put down at.
>> He was such a really good dog. And like it was cute. It was, but I'm like you really don't know if it was really a good dog. Like they like it was sweet.
They really wrote like it wasn't printed and I'm like wow these people took you know a moment of their time and and gave me a card and what one of them like said something about Bear. I was like that is not Bear.
You did not know him. Like >> that's so random. Like they think they got they they got like the [ __ ] generic jackpot.
It was It was still sweet like to know that you know like they took their a moment aside and >> Oh, I'm sure he misses your voice, >> right?
>> Yeah.
>> And you're all he is deaf.
>> But they they're all So what I meant is now he can hear you. Now >> in doggy heaven they have ears from in doggy heaven that work.
>> They all work. Yeah. No, Helen Keller's up there.
Oh my god.
Wow.
>> That's so funny. You missed the top dancing. That's cute.
>> There's things, you know, like it was it was so like he wasn't obviously was little and wasn't but enough to where you you recognize his his sense his him him being gone, you know, it's like, oh, little baby.
>> And so now you just have Dwendy.
>> Yeah, Dwendy and the two cats.
>> But Dendy's your only dog, huh?
>> She is. I kind of want to get what are those like long-haired dogs that with the smush faces? The Shih Tzu.
Not Shih Tzu. The >> Salassa.
Lapo and Lassaopsos. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Lapsopso. I won't >> Sherry had >> Sherry still has Andy. And Andy is She's Lassa Shih Tzu and like Yorkshire Terrier mix, I think, because they did like her little DNA thing.
>> Oh, cute.
>> And she's, you know, hypoallergenic, so that's nice, too.
>> Oh, >> but she uh like she has thing. Yeah. And it would get so bad that it would like irritate her skin and like it would get raw and you could smell it.
>> Oh, that was >> I think that was the loss of part.
>> Oh, >> you know, she's so cute. She would get all fuzzy like a bear and then she would go have her groomed and they'd cut her all short so that she could like >> but they'd leave her like her little little tail long.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Her ears were all like, >> "See, see, I want something like that."
And dying.
>> She's pretty sure that she's deaf now >> or just over listening to her.
>> That Yeah. Yeah. Over listening.
Something like that. But she's pretty sure she's deaf. I think her vision is fine, but >> Okay.
>> And then she just lost her cat.
>> Oh.
>> Um, but she had a lot of stuff going on.
Somebody told her like, you know, that she had cancer and ulcers and all kinds of [ __ ] and they were like, "Oh, you know, she probably won't last long." But then she lasted like over a year after that.
And then I guess she finally got like some mouth ulcers and was like unable to eat. So they were like, "Okay, time's up." H I just like there's a part of me that thinks it'd be fun to have like a long-haired dog, but then I know I'd probably be very irritated within a year. Listen, I've got short hair dogs and they're still shetty as [ __ ] So >> Oh, no. Not the shedding part. I the >> part.
>> Yeah, >> maybe.
Oh, >> maybe that.
But I don't know. The shedding is [ __ ] driving me nuts. I would prefer a dog that like does not shed and maybe just has to be groomed like every, you know, six weeks. That'd be nice.
>> That'd be nice. You know, CJ's looking at um Irish wolf hounds next. He's like, "So, >> are those big ones? Those are big, too, right?" I was just talking to somebody that has one.
>> That's what he wants to get next. He's like, you know, when Violet goes, cuz Violet's 10 and she's already at like the average lifespan of a great date, >> right?
>> Anytime she gets now, we'll just be extra. But Caper's only he's only going to be three in >> Oh, that's right.
>> So, he's young and he's obsessed with her. So, he's gonna have a hard time.
Our trainer is now helping us try to like build his confidence.
>> So, it so hard for him when when she goes. But CJ was like, you know, I think we need to humble his ass a little bit.
maybe we need to get a dog that's like bigger than him but around the same age.
And I was like, "Oh yeah, the Irish wolf hounds. Cool. They look wiry."
Like their hair is wiry looking. And I'm like, "Do they have to be like groomed?
Do they shed? Do they drool?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Supposed to be great dogs." And they have a really nice bark sound.
into that. I can't stand like the yippy high pitch [ __ ] So, but >> Oh. Oh, pinies. That's the one I was thinking about. Pean >> Yeah, >> that is not the same thing.
>> But it has long hair.
>> I feel like it compliments a pug.
like your dog like the the the the big wolf dog compliment the the great day and I feel like the peies >> potentially.
>> Mhm.
>> Compliments >> Dwendy.
>> Mhm.
>> Oh, Dwendy and a little smoosh face.
>> I love that you have your little white black face pug.
So cute.
Anyways, all right you guys. I think we are ready to go. Everybody can uh do some in between reading between now and when I get our May book, but I will work on that.
>> Yellow tail moth.
>> Margo.
>> Yellow.
>> Yellow.
>> Yeah, yellow is obviously our favorite color. So, kidding.
A Pomeranian. Now those are [ __ ] yippy little [ __ ] >> That's what Bear was. Bear was a Pomeranian.
>> Yeah. Lot of barking. A lot of barking.
But current side read does. What are you side reading? You said the frequency of him.
>> Uh I have that one, but I've only been reading it when I get my nails done. So that's why I'm still reading it. I made that my like getting my nails done book.
So then I was, you know, had just one book. Um, but I've been reading The Last Letter.
>> I think I'm like 40%.
>> I need to read that one.
>> It's good reading. I literally just finished it.
The fabric of our souls. That's the one that I just finished.
>> That sounds like a fabric. Was there a commercial? The fabric of >> I'm sorry.
>> Of our lives.
>> Of our lives. Oh, cotton.
Oh, that's what it is. Yes.
>> The touch the feel of cotton.
>> Yes. Yes. I have those commercials.
>> All the light we cannot see and the correspondent.
I have All the Light We Cannot See. I haven't read it yet either.
Hadn't gotten to it. There's just so many.
>> Is that a book that tenant wanted us to read? I'm sorry, Ashley years ago. She might have mentioned it and then it's a >> trying to remember what it was about.
>> And then you can go watch it on Netflix, too. It was supposed to be very, very well done, which I haven't seen because I wanted to read it first. So, yeah, it's been in mind for a long time.
I need to like tackle my TBR, but I'm mood reader, so it has to be has to it has to hit the mood. What was I reading?
Oh, I'm still reading book two, Golden Sun. Did I Did I finish that yet?
>> That was We were reading, you know, we read Red Rising in February.
>> Mhm.
>> And I'm still reading Golden Sun. I'm almost I think I'm like three4ers of the way done.
>> Was that the sequel?
>> Yeah, it's the second book in the series.
>> So, I've been taking my break that Teen said I should take. I've been waiting for somebody to read the trilogy so we could so we could talk about it.
I was sending messages, you know, to teen as I was reading.
>> Mhm.
Yeah. Well, I need to finish that one.
Did I start something else?
Hello, Beautiful. I think I started that one, but it's been a while, so probably have to get back into it. Anyway, the next one I read in the Night Yale.
Oh, yeah.
I remember what that one was, but I want to. I'm just out of like the winter feeling. Read winter read feeling.
I don't know what I'm going to read next.
>> Pick a color. Pick another color.
>> Right.
>> Pick say with the theme of the year. So, every time I add a black, red, gold looking book to my shelf, I get very happy. I want to read those. I have a lot of books that are in that color scheme. It's like black and gold or like red and gold or black and red or black red and gold, and I'm like, I want to I just want to tackle that shelf instead of just making it look pretty.
You want to hear something upsetting?
So, the book that we just read, I have it.
>> Yeah, you do.
I got it was a hard it was used the the the the sleeve was had a little rip in it. Whatever. But the book itself was black and not pink.
>> It's not even a pink book. You should rec I was like I'm just going to paint this.
>> Do it >> with acrylic paint.
>> Yeah.
>> Damn it.
>> It should be a pink book. That's weird.
>> Yeah. That's all I wanted to share.
Well, all righty then. We will see everybody back in two weeks. I'll get uh May posted for the new schedule. And we should be celebrating Dominique's birthday then. Yay.
>> Yay. All right, [ __ ] Have a good night.
